Came here on a Monday afternoon to get my Taro Boba fix on. The store was quite and my service was fast. I love the fact that I could customize the sweet factor of my drink that's always a plus! The taro was delish and refreshing with just the right amount of boba. Lots of space and visual stimulus as well as games and things to keep you occupied and entertained. I will start with the ambience of the place because it was very inviting. I say that because there was some background music happening that was loud enough to hear but didn't interrupt anyone having a conversation. Also I mentioned it in my pictures they have these cute trinkets and displays along the counter that are just fabulous. It definitely brings a sense of childlike whimsy that made me have a big old smile. For the service, I was greeted warmly when I approached the cash register and I had a few questions regarding some of the teas. The individual behind the register answered them very thoroughly and gave me a recommendation which I took. I got a Okinawa milk tea and then adjusted the sugar and added some boba to it. In addition there was these little trinkets that we're near the cash register that I decided to buy. It was a mystery pack situation and I am a big fan of doing those cuz I like a nice little surprise. The tea I got was well done. And I say that because I'm an individual that really likes to taste my tea when I get boba style drinks. So this definitely had the taste of the tea that I wanted and the sweetness level which was 30% was just right to enhance the flavors. I stayed there for about an hour just hanging out there were a few other individuals that came in and took orders to go and maybe two other tables that were seated while I was there. It does look like a lot of mobile orders come through and the local high school kids were going through there quite a bit. They have some board games and plenty of space to sit and pull out a laptop. I will say it is close to the high school and middle school. My daughter and I are going on a boba adventure to try every tea store to see which ones are good. Hyper Tea definitely is good. It's hidden in a small area and it doesn't have the business name in big letters on its building either so literally hidden. The store is clean and super cute because they have toys as decorations. The person who took our order is this cute professional child. She's such a good sales person, she knows how to answer your questions too. We ordered a couple of snacks and drinks. The popcorn chicken is crunchy, tender and flavorful. The fries is good, I like the chili flavor. The takoyaki is really good, flavorful and has a nice proportion of octopus. The drinks were 100% sweetness. The thai tea is ok. The blended sunset is mango and strawberry, the drink was really delicious. They made the milk tea perfectly and the bobas tasted fresh. Service was okay. Was greeted and ordered a total of 5 drinks. Wasn't offered a drink tray, but not a big deal. The drinks themselves tasted artificial because of the simple syrup. The place was very spacious with a few activities/games to entertain and keep busy while waiting or to hang out while enjoying the drinks. I don't recall if there was a food menu item so maybe or maybe not but they are next to other places that do have food just in case. Tried a different type of drink with jelly a strawberry mango freeze. My mini had it and told me it was delicious and actually finished it. I haven't come to this side of Elk Grove in awhile and it used to be cool tea bar. I originally came because I thought it was cool tea bar but it was Hyper Tea. I was sad to see cool tea bar was no longer here but still decided to check it out. Instantly had a feeling I was going to like it because there was a kid taking my order lol. For some reason, if kids take your order it's like the place is going to be good. We had ordered spicy popcorn chicken which was so moist. Usually most places is dry. We also got spicy fries which is just like any other fries. My boyfriend got takoyaki which he said was good. I also got a mango green tea and my boyfriend got a Thai milk tea. Mine tasted fine, a little too much boba for my preference. My boyfriend said his drink was a little bitter but not too much. Overall, I do look forward to coming back since they have popcorn chicken and most boba places don't have that anymore. They also offer stamp cards which is cool. Hyper Tea has been open for a little while so I'm surprised there aren't many reviews yet! I admit I was really bummed when I found out the previous boba shop here closed down but I'm always down to try a new place. The logo and cups are very cute here. The setup inside has pretty much stayed the same. Even the menu seems a little similar with the addition of some different drinks and a small snack menu. We chose the peach milk tea and the mango milk tea with boba. It took a little while to get the drinks but there were a couple bigger orders ahead of ours so that seemed reasonable. The actual milk teas were delicious but definitely on the sweeter side. But the boba did not taste to my liking, just was not soft/fresh enough. Service was not memorable but not rude either. They did have kids just sitting and playing behind the counter, which I totally understand working with kids, but just seemed kinda funny because they have so much seating and open space here that they could've had the kids sitting out there instead. Overall average experience, it's on the complete opposite side of town for me so I wouldn't drive all the way over, but if I was in the area I wouldn't mind stopping by again to give it another shot. read more

Good bye Cool Tea Bar, you will be missed dearly! TT^TT We came in on a lazy weekend, craving something sweet and spicy. I spoke to the cashier and asked if it's under new management, and he replied yes. I then asked if they can make their popular Roasted Milk Tea with Grass Jelly and again, he replied yes; so I decided to give that a try (Milk Tea). My bf got the Taro Milk Tea. We also ordered Takoyaki and Popcorn Chicken Spicy. The Milk Tea with grass jelly was ok. It did not taste like the Roasted Milk Tea...grass jelly was not the soft and melty one I remembered :( My bf enjoyed his Taro Milk Tea. I also had a sip and it tasted ok. I think it's the milk they used... Takoyaki came in five pieces ranging above $5. They were hot! So be careful eating one whole piece. The popcorn chicken was good and had a good spice. It's hard for me to keep up with new boba spots but, real talk, I'm more eager to check out ones with a cute logo lol (am I part of the problem?). --------------- Assam black milk tea w/ pudding: could've had more assam tea taste to it but otherwise an all-around decent milk tea. Pudding was a bit bland but at least there was a good chunk of it in the drink for considerable added texture. Passion fruit green tea w/ boba: pretty tart for something marked at 50% sweetness level lol I didn't mind it much though. Great strong tea taste. Boba pearls were really bouncy but kinda to a fault as they were hard to chew-tear into them. Matcha milk tea: matcha taste had the earthiness that I like but, similar to the assam black milk tea, was a bit too subtle in the drink. Spicy popcorn chicken: tender chicken. It was moderately spicy, yup, but it lacked in strong five spice seasoning flavor. Also the portion was a bit skimpy compared to that at other boba spots. --------------- I know I sound like a nit-picking Nancy but there's just a saturation of boba spots these days. Really spacious boba place. Ordered the blended smoothie (strawberry and mango), kumquat lemon green tea w/ lychee jelly, and lychee milk tea with lychee jelly. The smoothie and green tea were pretty good, but the smoothie wasn't anything special. I usually don't like fruit teas but adding in the jelly was a good choice. The cups are really cute (even the seal at the top has different images!) and makes for cute photos. They also have a stamp card for every 10 drinks you get 1 free. Very spacious! yummy drinks and the only food dish I tried was their popcorn chicken which was delicious! I would definitely go back here again to try more drinks and food! The staff was very nice and inside had a lot of cool things like their Lego builds, very colorful lights and they have a bookcase of board games and a plant bookcase. I liked this place as Cool Tea Bar, so I had to see how Hyper Tea would be like. Everything is pretty much the same except for the change in name from what I remember. I the person who helped me was also very nice and made sure I got my sauce and stamp card. The food and drink were good but I feel like it's a bit pricier than what I was given. They were very generous on spice for the popcorn chicken and it was very crispy. I really do like it but for $7.25 I was hoping for a little more. It was a small handful that I got. Liked my Mango QQ drink (comes with boba and lychee jelly; drink is water base instead of tea). I also like that they had different options for the QQ drink flavors. Normally it's just passion fruit flavor at most places that offer it. I would just say not to go after school gets out because it's just packed with hellaaa kids, which made for a poor experience. I understand that this spot used to be Cool Tea Bar but they now have new ownership/rebranding which is great! This location is definitely dependent on the schools nearby which makes it a prime-spot for students to grab a bite or hangout with their friends. Speaking from experience, I used to love stopping by Cool Tea Bar with my friends years ago. So I know that business will be consistent. I ordered the peach green tea with boba to keep things simple. I like how you can adjust the sweetness. I do wish they offered alternative milk options for the milk teas though. Maybe that'll be a thing in the future since their menu may expand. The tea itself was average but yummy! It's hard to mess up a simple fruit tea. I'll try their milk teas in the future and compare those. It wasn't too busy on a Saturday so our drinks came out fairly quick. There were a few younger kids playing the large selection of board games that they offer. The interior is large with many seating areas. I ordered the cheese sticks which use a different recipe than the ones Cool Tea Bar used to have. They're better in my opinion, the batter is lighter/crisper and isn't as dense. It's also superrrr cheesy which is awesome. Just make sure to eat them quick or else the cheese will harden. Finally got to try since Cool Tea Bar closed & HyperTea took over - I like it even better! Ambience: It's a super large, spacious shop with lots of seating for working or playing one of the many provided board games. They have big shelves full of Jenga, connect four, etc. Type games and their AC is *chefs kiss*. We enjoyed hanging out for a while and killing time. Drinks: I tried the jasmine milk tea (regular sweetness) with light boba. The boba is chewy and cooked well. The pearls themselves aren't sweet, so I don't think they're wok'd in brown sugar like other places, but they're still good and have a perfect chew. My little one got a blended peach slush with strawberry popping boba. She loved it til she saw some friends order a Sunset (layered strawberry-mango slush) drink and then thought that one "might taste better" (after sucking down all of her peach one lol) - will definitely try that one next time. The popping boba was great too and she liked the ratio to the drink. I'd definitely get my jasmine milk tea here again, and will be back to try other drinks! Their menu is simple but plentiful, and they also serve food like popcorn chicken and boba shop-typical snacks. A huge plus for me is that they use non dairy creamer for all of their milk teas, I've found some places use real milk but don't disclose that or they only do non dairy creamer for certain drinks (??) - oat and soy just don't mix the same way so this was exciting for my lactose intolerance lol. This place didn't have a yelp review so I was hesitant to come over and I kept calling the place and making sure they are open or if they have snack menu like I said there was no review and enough pictures. You see I depend on Yelp too much. LOL As soon as we arrived the place was huge! With bunch of group costumers! Very roomy! On the menu I was expecting they have more but since I heard they are rebranded with new ownership I guess they are playing it safe with menu variations so I moved on since I was asking for something it wasn't on the menu LOL We ordered Taro Blended, and Strawberry Blended. A new boba shop on the block. They have replaced Cool Tea Bar. It looks like a family business. They were really nice. The drink menu has all of your basic drinks. I do wish they had specialty drinks. Something that would set them apart from the other boba shops. The milk teas were tasty, but we felt the boba was hard. The drinks were made timely and the prices are fair. The snacks fared better. First off, I really do like it when boba shops have food. The chicken and fries were good, but lacked seasoning. The big surprise were the cheese sticks. They were better than expected. I definitely wouldn't mind coming back for the drinks, because they are fairly new & maybe had a bad day when I went in. First time here after the change of management, the place is still very similar just different name and options for drinks. I had gotten the taro smoothie, it wasn't too sweet which I liked and there was plenty of boba. My husband, got the strawberry black tea and he liked it as well. The only thing was, it didn't feel as inviting or welcoming to stay. The staff was on their phones when I came in, as well as when I was ready to order. I had to verbally ask them to take my order.
