I stopped by to order a drink and snack. I got the roasted oolong milk tea, 30 sugar no ice and sweet potato fries. You can get 20% off your first purchase if you order via Snackpass mobile app. The tea was only a little sweet which is how I intended, but I wish there was less milk since overall the tea flavor wasn't as strong as I'd like. The sweet potato fries came and were sweet but wish it was more spiced. I would also prefer it to be a little crispier. It came with ketchup. They have some small crane/grabber machine games. Eh? It's okay but honestly wouldn't be my preferred boba spot. I would say that it's worse than i-Tea, which in my book, makes it something that I wouldn't go back to. I got a mango tea with mango popping boba. The mango flavor was pretty good but super artificial and the popping boba popped weirdly. I can't count the numerous times I have walked by Rare Tea without ordering anything from them, always worrying the amount of sugar that is added to the teas, milk teas, smoothies, etc. Then I never knew they served yummy appetizers. Seeing the fundraiser, I stopped in for a tea. Thanks to the help of one of the employees and a representative from OKAPI, I uploaded an app to borrow and return a glass. Then I was able to order a beverage, 1/2 off on first older. So many choices of beverage, and they all sounded refreshing and delicious. Beverage: Peach tea, no sugar and boba. Price: $6.25 (plus 60¢ for boba). 50% discount, final price: $3.43. Tea was indeed refreshing. A return visit is a must for the appetizers and teas. read more

The staff are very friendly, and the boba drinks are amazing! They were also incredibly helpful. I was there with my my daughter and niece, and niece accidentally dropped the first drinks we ordered while we were waiting for the rest. The staff cleaned it up right away without hesitation. This RareTea is located in the middle of Alameda Landing. It is usually busy here on weekends and weeknights, so parking in this area may be hit or miss. I had only been to this location once before my most recent visit, but I had been to the Berkeley location at least a few times - I feel like the drinks at this location are not as consistent as the Berkley location. I ordered their jasmine milk tea with boba. When I tasted my drink, it tasted off and after a few sips, I realized it was the milk that tasted a bit different/strange. I let one of three employees know - he told me that they recently changed their milk, so that is probably why. I haven't been in the bay for that long but I can tell this place used to be a sharetea or something. The drinks have a similar taste profile but definitely messed up somewhere along the lines. The watery flavorless drinks definitely scared me away...especially at the price point. Was in the mood for a boba drink and was close to this place. Wandered in and expected good things. It took me awhile to decide on the strawberry milk tea. It tasted good and I liked the boba. I didn't expect to still taste the little ice shards, but since it was a warm day, I didn't mind. What I didn't expect was the cashier seeming to rush me to choose something. As it was my 1st time, I wanted to read the menu. And since there wasn't a long line, I thought I could take my time. Tried my friend's 50% sugar, no ice jasmine milk tea with boba. No tea flavor, too sweet, and boba was soft, not chewy. The menu looked like Sharetea's menu which was very strange to me. I ordered the rose flower spring tea with boba, 50% sweetness and lite ice. There's little rose petals that come in the drink. It just tasted like watered down sweet rose water, with no tea. The drink barely tastes like tea, super disappointing. $6 is expensive for a watered down drink. Also, what the heck??? It's a $0.50 cent charge if you want your drink with no ice. I ordered the Taro Smoothie with Pudding, add-on Lychee Jellies. My drink was blended but not thoroughly. I bit a chunk of ice when I was chewing the ingredients which were fresh as well. The ratio of ice to milk seemed more liquid than smooth icy. The taro flavor was on point. Lychee jellies we're excellent. There's plenty of parking around and it's one of the very few boba shops that are open at night during quarantine. It's not my top choice for boba, but it satiates those boba cravings. It's near Koja & Habit Burger if you're familiar w the area or u can look for the yellow storefront. It still shows "ShareTea" on the building, the previous business. Breakdown: Strawberry Lychee jelly w ice cream (ice blend) $6.50 - can't make ice/sugar adjustments. It tastes exactly like those round, swirly strawberries & creme hard candies if ya grew up eating them like me lol. The drink was too sweet for me tho. Secret Garden (cucumber juice, lychee jelly) - $5.50. I did half sugar on this one and it tasted alright. Nothing amazing nor terrible. All in all, this place has some unique drinks but was A-OK for me. Nice staff, quick service, everyone was masked up! They only allow 5 people inside at a time. Saw a flyer for some type of loyalty program too. Might return next time to try one of their milk teas. read more
