I used to like sharetea, but with all the new boba places that have opened, I feel like sharetea can't even compare. Quality of the tea is so bad, I would give it a 1/5. Boba itself is okay, usually it's the perfect texture, but has no flavor 3/5. Personally, I am lactose intolerant, so I can't have any drinks with dairy. They don't have that many options that I can choose from. Overall, would NOT recommend sharetea.... it also STINKS in the store/outside the store. I had this really bad misconception at the time that Davis was really rural and full with cow farms, so it was surprising to see how developed the city actually was. It was also surprising to see that there was a boba shop in Davis! I ordered an Oreo Ice Blended with pearl, and I honestly wasn't too impressed. The boba was harder than what I was used to, almost frozen. At $4.90, the price is okay, but I've had better drinks elsewhere at that price. Staffs were friendly and drinks came out quickly. The whole trip only took a few minutes. Only reason for four stars was because the drink qualities weren't anything amazing both times I visited here. First time I got a recommended menu item (it was called kiwi fruit tea with ice jelly) and it tasted..uneventful. It was more tangy than anything. This time I got my friend the okinawa pearl milk tea-no idea how that tastes, and myself a matcha red bean milk tea. The matcha tasted so so, I've definitely had better. Picked this over iTea today to grab something quick, cool, and sweet for me and my friend tabling in the afternoon heat today. My friend is lactose-intolerant so to be extra safe we asked if they could make their mango green milk tea with soy milk. They said yes they can do that so I responded with I'll take that with boba. When the drink came out, it had no boba because the cashier left it out by accident. I'm a little miffed because the cashier already seemed impatient and unfriendly while I was ordering (there's no excuse, sorry - I've worked at a T4 in my hometown with way worse rushes and clearly the iTea employees a few feet across have it way rougher) and now she's made a mistake, lo behold. I don't bother disputing because I was in a hurry. 2-3 hrs later my friend texts me about their upset stomach from their drink earlier. Now this is upsetting, as now we know it was not non-dairy/soy like we ordered. That's two mistakes from them on top of unfriendly service. The tea has potential to be really good, but the quality is way too inconsistent. It is really hard to access the shop because of the construction happening on the entire street where it is located. Once you find your way inside you can easily order and leave. There is plenty to choose from but the quality of the drinks are never consistent. I can order the same drink and it will taste different every time. Also, they put hot pearls into a iced drink making the drink warm and all the ice melt. I've been to multiple Sharetea locations in the bay area and was excited to see a location at the UC Davis location. I only stop by when visiting. Today was my third time visiting it and I am still disappointed with the quality of the drinks. The place was pretty small and packed due to the amount of students. It didn't really have the chill atmosphere where you could sit down and relax. I feel like other Sharetea's are more organized when it comes to their menu. I noticed new drink signs but on paper. Not sure why they don't update the menu. But I have noticed that their menu has expanded so that was one good thing about it. Service is a bit better this time but still not wow. The cashier was nice and my receipt just had a number and no total amount. I asked for a coffee milk tea with double coffee. Seemed okay so I guess they can modify the drink like that. When I got it, it tasted just like a regular. Also slightly watered down so I didn't get the strong flavor I wanted. Ended up giving my drink away which I paid $4 for. Not worth it. I was about to get the boba and asked if it was soaked in any sweetner (brown sugar, honey, fructose, etc) but the cashier said its just regular. My friends said that the boba was too chewy and didn't have flavor. Really glad I didn't get it as a topping for my milk tea. They didn't spend long pushing out drinks which was good. I enjoyed Sharetea! Great location right off of campus made a quick trip there possible. We had a buy one get one 1/2 off coupon -- places that offer coupons or give away free things tend to have a special place in my heart. Menu was a little confusing -- why name something Hokkaido pearl milk tea when caramel milk tea communicates the same thing. Also it was strange to me that the pearls = boba and were built into the name of the drinks but they still asked if you wanted boba. Menu and ordering seemed unnecessarily complicated but not a big deal. They had an option that allowed you to cut the sweetness if you wanted it -- anywhere from 50% sweet to 100% sweet. The line for the soft opening is outrageously long so make sure you get here ahead of time. Their soft opening deal is buy a drink and get any of the 5 drinks for free with a purchase (picture posted). Don't forget to customize your drink in ice levels and level of sweetness. They charge 25cent for no ice! They also have toppings for an additional 50cent. However, they do not have a minimum charge for using credit/debit and also accept cash as a payment too I got a kiwi fruit tea with ice jelly and that one was definitely a miss because it is tangy and sweet and citrusy. I wasn't sure what flavor they were going for. However, my friend got a Hokkaido milk tea with pearl and the pearl was very chewy and the milk tea was delicious. I wish I had gotten a milk tea instead. The layout of this boba shop is not really a place for one to study. They only have two small tabes with 4 chairs on each table and one larger table with 6 chairs. There are no bathrooms inside this boba shop so make sure you find one else nearby if you need to go. The parking for this boba shop is not too convenient as it is a one way street. This would be a good place to grab some boba while you're on campus and craving something sweet. Woo the opening day finally arrived and the line was... Endless. The wait was approximately 1.5-2 hour wait, but I'm sure it wont be this way the following week. But hey! Davis has Sharetea now! That's a big deal!! This Sharetea location is not too small or big, there are indoor (there is AC) and outdoor seatings as well. The pricing is the same like any other Sharetea in the bay area, most drinks are $3.50 -$4.50. Toppings (if not already included) is $0.50 extra. My recommended drinks are: * Ice Cream Black Milk Tea $3.75 * Matcha Red Bean $4.25 * Hokaido Milk Tea $3.75 * Fresh Handmade Taro $4.25 * Can never go wrong with Classic $3.75 I am not much of a fruity tea drink, but I like their: * Kiwi Fruit Tea with ice jelly $4.25 You can also customize the level of sweetness and ice. If you ask for no ice it is $0.25 extra (lol like whut?! Who does that?) Parking nearby might be a little hard to find, but if you park further, I'm sure there will be available spots. Sharetea is right across the street of Deathstar (UCD Social Science Building) where Oshio used to be, so it is a very convenient spot for students to get their boba fix. The space is small and the line can get very long and busy, but the service is fairly quick. I ordered mango green milk tea with boba and mango passion tea with lychee jelly. The cup size is similar to a large at most other places. Both drinks tasted great and had actual chunks of fruit, which I really appreciate! However, the drinks here are SOO PRICY (~5 for one)--huge turnoff for me. Even if the quality is good and the location is within walking distance from campus, I really don't see myself coming here often to splurge on boba drinks. It's good, but not THAT good. If you haven't been here before or are a "boba/milk tea lover," definitely try and see how Sharetea compares to other joints. Otherwise, I say PASS. read more

The soft opening is two days from Oct 8 - Oct 9 from noon-5pm! They have BUY 1 GET 1 free on selected drinks. We got a Hokkaido pearl milk tea and kiwi fruit jelly. I love the Hokkaido pearl milk tea. Perfect sweetness level with freshly made chewy honey black pearl. On the other hand, my friend got kiwi fruit jelly tea. It tastes a bit bitter at the beginning. I think it is due to the lack of mixing. So I would suggest before you drink, you should shake the drink! The fruity taste of the tea is actually really refreshing for the summer! I've been waiting to have ShareTea near home instead of driving 2 hours to San Jose to get me some gooooood milk tea. I love the Classic Black Pearl Milk Tea. ShareTea's pearl is the best. Since it only takes me about 25 minute to get to Davis, I don't mind going over there when I'm craving for an authentic milk tea. So I went to the soft opening today & waited for over an hour in line, the service was fast & simple. It makes the wait worth it. Buy one get one FREE as a deal for soft opening? COUNT ME IN. There aren't many milk teas that are as good as ShareTea, luckily my cousin introduced it to me in San Jose. I had experience with ShareTea in San Jose & Cerritos, I like the San Jose one better but now, Davis will be my favorite one. Ive had a lot of mango teas (or fruit teas in general) and I have never drank up SOLID SYRUP CHUNKS.. I would stir and shake the tea some more...nope. It looks like a snow globe of syrup solids from big to small. I came in around 12:50pm on a Tuesday. There were a few people ahead of me and I understand that they were very short-staffed. But this is not a reason to rush on making drinks and having their quality turn out to be very poor. Also, the cashier actually made my drink which was quite unsanitary since he previously handled cash. I agree with someone else's lost about the creama here. It is too sweet, too greasy. Having it mixed in the mango green tea is way beyond just " regular sweet". Though this is the closest Boba store to campus, I would make that extra 5-10 minute trip to Teabo or Mandro's for better boba, better tea, and consistency in their quality. Came here on a Friday night. There was no line but there were a few people hanging out at the tables inside. This place is located at the corner right across from Death Star. Such a good location to come during class breaks! There's timed street parking right out front and out door seating. Typical bubble tea menu with the option to choose ice/sweetness levels. I ordered the Okinawa which is pretty good and consistent compared to the Sharetea in San Mateo. I like the Okinawa at Mandro more though. My Sharetea order got messed up and they charged/included both boba and aloe vera when I only asked for aloe. Can't complain too much since it still tastes okay. I wanted to try the pudding topping but they were out. I'd probably come back since it's so close to campus. read more

The only wait was us trying to decide what to get. I got the classic boba milk tea black with less ice and he got the Okinawa boba milk tea. Both drinks were very creamy but could have had a stronger tea flavor. The boba was ok.. I'd prefer boba that was more chewy all around and less squishy on the outside. I used to live on A street so Sharetea was literally right down the street from me. As someone that consumes far too much boba, it was extremely hard to resist going all the time. My go to is jasmine green milk tea or mango green tea. The tea here is relatively good, however I found that I want a little more depth in flavor. The boba can be really amazing but can be a miss at times depending on when you walked in. Located right off the edge of campus, this sharetea is at a super prime location. Parking can be a little tricky around here as the streets require a permit. Its a lot easier to just park in downtown and walk over. Make sure you bring cash with you too! You can sign up for the fivestar loyalty program by just typing in your phone number. The employees are very sweet also so be sure to ask questions if you have them. I tend to be very un-adventurous when it comes to boba so I haven't tried a lot of things on the menu but I've found that many things tend to be hit or miss! read more

My favorite one is the Okinawa with boba. I've been planning on going since my Christmas break started. But I was either too lazy or my kids and cleaning took up my time. So, today I FINALLY went! I brought my daughter along with me. She likes boba but she opted for a cake pop at Starbucks instead.. We still shared mine. I came in on a Thursday around 6:30. There was no line so that was nice. The place is really spacious in the front and towards the right there's a seating area with a few tables. There's a large selection of drinks which can be overwhelming at first. It took me and my friend a few minutes to figure out what we wanted. The girls in front were not really helpful and didn't know what their drinks tasted like when I asked them how their honey milk and mango green milk tea tasted. The pricing is a bit ridiculous. Even though you get a large drink, $5 is expensive for college students. Side note: they charge extra for less ice which is silly but I get it. I ended up ordering the mango green tea with tapioca and 80% sweetness. I was really disappointed with my drink. It was super bitter. I understand it's a tea and the tea flavor will be strong but it was wayyyyy too strong for my liking. They put actual fruit bits in the drink too. I didn't really care for it because of the texture. I didn't really taste mango in the tea either. The tea tasted very soapy to me. My friend disliked her drink too for all the same reasons. Only good thing was the tapioca which was soft and chewy. The service is extremely fast and it is a great place to work after 7pm on Mondays-Thursday's. Fridays and weekend can be quite crowded though. For me, the prices are quite high but it is Sharetea after all! I usually get the Orange Yakult drink here since it's refreshing and a good balance of sweetness. Other drinks can go very bad or decent as well. My favorite is the Hot taro boba drink but it can be too sweet sometimes . Between classes can be hectic as well. Great for studying and meeting friends as there are plugs and campus wifi which is awesome! First time here at this location is Davis. I got the Hokkaido pearl milk tea: it was diluted. Not very creamy or milky. Tasted more like caramel than tea. Had salty after taste, maybe from the toffee. I wish it was more milky than water. My housemate got the matcha red bean. Tea is super watered down especially if you want lite ice. I think they just add water to make up the ice space. They tried to copy the popular "fresh milk brown sugar boba" drink from Asia but they got it all sort of WRONG. The drink came out luke warm bc they haven't figured out how to store brown sugar boba without keeping it on the boiler lol. Staff are really cold and unwelcoming. Best Tea in town!!! I love this place! My husband and I come here at least once a week. My favorite is the jasmine milk tea with boba, 50% sugar and little ice. I also order the chicken rice bowl which is delicious! I haven't had better tea in Davis! Trendier places are opening across the street, but I'm not about the hype.
