It's been a while and we were craving some boba so I came here with my younger cousin. I was curious about their pistachio milk tea and it turns out, it's a jasmine milk tea with pistachio - say less. I added the Osmanthus Jelly as a topping and reduced the sugar and wow, it was delicious. I forgot the staffs name, but she was super friendly and sweet with my cousin. We tried our hand at the claw machine, but it proved to be quite difficult. The service and drink was wonderful so I'd definitely return! read more

9/27/25: I confess, it's been so long since we popped in here, I cannot remember what we ordered. Mine was not bad, but my sister dumped hers when we got home. It tasted like soap. What I do remember is the young dude that was working this particular morning. When we walked in he was on his phone, not a huge deal, since no one was inside & we needed to look at the menu before deciding. What do you expect him to do, stare at the walls? :-) As we approached the counter, however, ready to order, his face remained planted in his phone & despite us starting to place our order, he was more concerned about finishing up his text (or whatever was so engrossing on his phone). I do like that they have compostable (small) straws; that they ask you not to take more than you need. We didn't take any! I was craving Boba and this was the only location that was open so we made the drive out. We arrived about 20 minutes prior to closing. The staff members were super friendly. I ordered a coconut milk tea with brown sugar Boba. The drink portion of my tea was delicious, I will say the Boba tasted as though it had been there for quite a while. It was mushy. But then again it was closing time. My husband had the mango green tea with crystal Boba. His tea was delicious, with vibrant mango and fresh green tea flavor. I loooooove love love this spot! The boba is always the perfect amount of chewiness, and has a great brown sugar flavor. When you ask for things half sweet here, it's actually half sweet (I feel like some boba spot's "half sweet" still tastes extremely sweet to me!). The strawberry berry tea is my go-to. The drinks also come out super fast, and the interior is very modern and clean. The staff is always very kind, and will give you recommendations if you ask. So much parking, and it's also conveniently located right next to a korean BBQ spot... which I always have to get a sweet treat after! The milk tea definitely tastes more on the tea side, but can be masked if the drink is too sweet. The steamed bun and shumai are satisfactory for items outside of a dim sum establishment. I would say the drinks are a little overpriced (I paid over $8 for my drink), but maybe that's just the new norm now? Happy National Bubble (Boba) Tea Day (4/30)! We came here when they first opened on 11/27/21 and have been coming back ever since. I tried Rare Tea back in California so that was my baseline to compare this location. There were a lot of drinks to choose from on their menu and my go-to drink here at Rare Tea would be the Okinawa Milk Tea with boba. The tea flavor was good and the boba were always chewy. I've tried a number of other drinks here like the Jasmine Green Milk Tea, Mango Passion Fruit Green Tea, Black Milk Tea, and Rose Spring Tea. They all tasted good to me but my go-to was still Okinawa Milk Tea with boba. It tasted the same as the Rare Tea in California so it was consistent. I should really just finish up the rest of the menu since I've tried almost everything on the menu. The staff here are friendly and you can even order online to come pick up. We've done that quite a few times since we don't live down the street from them anymore. We have gone to their Queen Creek location too but that's for another review. Rare Tea was great and one of our go-to places for boba! We'll be back! read more

We love going here when shopping in the area- this boba shop is centrally located around many shops, a movie theater and restaurants! Came in and ordered a large mango green tea with aloe vera- my favorite! My drink was delicious and flavorful and the sizes here are very generous. They used crushed ice which is love! Been really curious about this place and I didn't realize it was right here! I guess that explains why so many teens are roaming around with these cups. There were two employees behind the counter, one was taking an order. The other seemed sad faced and did all she could to ignore myself and three others waiting in line. I know good help is hard to find these days but if you are going to charge almost $7 for a drink with mostly ice, please hire friendly staff who can at least acknowledge your presence. A simple smile or a "thank you for the business" at checkout would go a long way. As for the ambiance: clean, spacious & bright! The menu was both on digital displays and a hard menu on the counter as well. I was taken by suprise with how many options there were. I ended up with a Thai Milk Tea which was very nicely balanced. Not too sweet like others I've had elsewhere but Rare Tea is 2x the cost of most Thai restarants in the area. The boba was fresh and plentiful which is nice. It would be nice if they had a loyalty program where after buying 8 you get 1 drink free because I'd like to come back to try other items, just I'll ask for less ice. Also keep in mind the layout of parking outside is odd, especially when people are just not paying attention. Almost got hit TWICE just trying to leave. This isn't any fault of the shop, its the poor layout and the property management who should fix it. read more

My son asked if we could get boba after practice and I am not one to turn down a boba request. We chose Rare Tea for the reviews and close proximity to his gym. It's located in a busy shopping center with plenty of parking. We were greeted as soon as we entered. I like to ask the staff for their best sellers and recommendations, especially if it's my first time at the biz. They recommended the Okinawa milk tea with boba, so I went with that. My son went with his go-to, a caramelized brown sugar milk tea which also happens to be one of their best sellers. All drinks come in one size, a large. No complaints from us as we normally get a large anyway. Ice and sugar levels can be customized. I asked for less sugar and less ice for my drink while my son kept the original recipe for his. Both were delicious and came with a good amount of boba. The boba flavor and consistency were excellent. Perfectly chewy. I'm very intrigued by their other drinks like the tea-presso milk teas, coffee milk tea, and lychee matcha latte, so I will definitely be back! read more

I stopped by based on some recommendations from some close friends that this place had some really authentic tea (not the powdered stuff). The prices aren't too bad, but still pretty expensive ($5.95 and $6.95 for the majority of the main choice with $0.50 to $1 upgrades for boba/jelly etc). The place is super clean and the staff were really nice. I ended up picking up the Mango Passion Fruit Green Tea at 80% sugar level and it was pretty tasty. It was definitely up there with my favorites like (i.e. Dayung). They also have the fun claw machines to keep folks busy/playing while waiting or chatting with friends. Milk tea calls out to me like the ocean calls to Moana. I came to Rare Tea for National Boba Day (April 30th, yikes this draft is old) and got myself a free macaron. I dig! My friend Jason J. has been bugging me to pop in and so I did and I gotta say, Rare Tea is pretty great! Kenny was our cashier and he was super cool and friendly. He even offered me a free Lina's Macarons' macaron for National Boba Day that I thought for sure they'd be out of. Rare Tea is great and all but they're a bit of a ways out for me. The interior of the store is super clean with plenty of seating, and the drinks are made quickly! I like how the tea isn't too bitter but is still fragrant, the drink isn't too milky, and the boba is chewy and sweet! I also appreciate that they fill up the drink to the top even when you ask for no ice. Toppings are $0.5-$1, smoothies $5.5-$6.5, specialty drinks$6-6.5, uji matcha $6-6.25, fruit teas $5.25-$6, milk teas $5.5-$6, tea-presso milk tea $6. Milk alternatives are an additional $1, and these include non-dairy creamer and oat milk. Tasty Drinks: I first had Rare Tea at the Clovis location just outside of Fresno, California earlier this year. The mango milk tea with boba was easily one of the most refreshing drinks I have had and made me drive about an hour to have it again in Chandler. You can adjust for sugar (0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) and ice (no, lite, and regular). I had the mango milk tea with boba, lite ice, and 100% sugar. The boba was just right, chewy but not too soft. So, I asked if I could switch to a different drink instead. She refused, saying she couldn't replace my order. When I asked to speak with the manager, she claimed she was the manager. I was shocked by her attitude and lack of customer service. She didn't offer any apologies, and maintained a dismissive and disdainful tone throughout the communication. I'm a huge boba tea fan and have tried almost every boba shop around the East Valley, but I've never had one that tasted as watery and bland as this. Having worked at a boba shop before, I can immediately tell that either too much water was used or too little tea when brewing. Looking at the reviews (Google Reviews as well), it seems like this isn't just a one-time issue, which makes me wonder if the employees aren't properly trained or if the owner has just given up on maintaining quality. To make things worse, when I brought up the issue, the employee refused to remake or exchange the drink--something I found especially surprising since many reviews praise their customer service.
