The food here is outstanding, and the lengthy beer list made my husband and father-in-law happy. If the review was just based on food and the beer selection, I'd give them 5 stars. Both are stellar. Rappourt has community seating, with large tables with benches and chairs down each side, which makes it great for large groups if you're lucky enough to get there when they have open tables. If you're with a small party, you'll be sitting with other people. Regardless of where you sit, or with whom, you'll have to strain to listen and shout to be heard, which leads me to why I only gave them 3 stars. The reason I'll never go here again unless it's during their down time, is that there is no soundproofing. The tall metal ceilings lend themselves to a cacophony unlike any I've heard at any other restaurant/bar. This is the first time I've put in earplugs and withdrawn from conversation with my family and friends at a restaurant/bar. This was after I gave up trying to understand anything they said from the other side of the table, even though they were shouting. Did I mention that my husband had to yell in my ear, and he was sitting right next to me! That's the end of my rant on the noise level here. Look, Ann Arbor, I get it-- everything here has to be a boutique product. your university degree. Your downtown. Your suburban brew-pub experience. Well, in spite of my longstanding affinity for brews, snacks, and even the boutiquey food scene, I gotta say-- color me unimpressed. Rappourt overpromises and underdelivers, which is, in my mind, a bit worse than not promising and being mediocre. It may not be their fault that they're located in a strip mall. After all, some of my favorite businesses are located in strip malls. We can't hold that against them. What we can hold against them is a menu that promises an exotic array of goodies but ends up cranking out one uninspired, greasy dish after another. Loaded fries, for example, which featured chorizo and cheese, among other bits, but lacked that particular, gooey levity of either nacho cheese or lightly melted, shredded cheese, instead in favor of cheese that had been lightly charred under a broiler. Tandoori wings seemed somehow forced, and I'm not sure whether it was the wings themselves. The seasoning was pleasant enough, leaving sticky red fingers, the mark of dank tandoori spice. Second complaint was that, while there is an expansive beer list that can be enjoyed on the small outdoor patio or indoors (frigid, though it were-- these two attributes add up to a second star), it is damn expensive. $7.50-10 for many 10-16 oz. pours of pretty common beers. This is the kind of thing where if it dropped the reclaimed wood pretense and cut the prices by 60%, it may well be, in my mind, a four or five star joint. But I also know that my review's cantankerous complaint about expensive beer doesn't really matter for a spot that will invariably recruit the beer-loving crowd, drawn by variety and heedless of price. read more

We were here last night for a quick dinner during the game. Love the open space. We ordered poutine fries, shrimp tacos, and chicken enchiladas. I do recommend the shrimp tacos. Shrimp is fried with a good flavor. The sauce brings together the shrimp and mango all together nicely! The enchiladas was perfect. I didn't think there was anything special about the poutine. It's exactly what you expect and it was good. I would come back here again. I was bummed out that they ran out of the beef short ribs dish. I want to come back for that. I come here about once a week with coworkers. Personally, I love that I'm not waited on and can get whatever I'd like whenever I'd like. Staff is always so attentive and pleasant too! It seems like there's a new beer every time I come, which is great! They ensure to have a few classics on hand, typical mitten sippers (two hearted, all day, etc.). Also enjoy they have a variety of Michigan beers, but also include beers from other states/countries. Truffle fries are to die for. read more

The food is ok, but maybe it's just the items I tried. Brussel sprouts could use some lemon juice to really brighten the fried flatness, but my husband liked it so whatever. I had the mousakka-inspired lasgna. I should've read closer on the menu that this wasn't mousakka. It felt like a dense block of cheese with some pasta. I don't see any resemblance to the original inspiration at all. Husband had burger and fries. The fries were awesome. If I came back, I'd probably order a bowl of those cause they were so good. Didn't try the burger but hubs wasn't sure he liked the sweetness. They've got a nice beer and wine selection. Amazing place with lots of beer choices, delicious food, and playful young spirit! Great for big parties or an intimate talk with a glass of beer. My colleagues and I visited the town and we had a couple of hours to kill. That's when we headed to Rappourt Brew & Chew and were amazed by how good this place is. Poutine here is one of the best my boss ever had. Squeaky cheese and rich gravy make this dish to stand out as a great complementary to the vast variety of beer on tap. The hamburger I had was juicy and flavorful. The patty melted in my mouth, while the salad leaves, tomatoes, and pickles were fresh and crunchy. The best thing about Rappourt meals is that they aren't big. You have enough delicious food and beer but do not overeat. The atmosphere overall is amazing. Apparently, this is a pretty new pop up. The last time I visited this location, it was a liquor and beer store. I loved how they changed it. Awesome beer selection, great service and decent food choices. Decently priced beers. Great place to hangout with friends over beer and some food. I went here with a few friends and we shared some dishes: truffle fries and brussel sprouts. I had the roasted pulled pork sandwich. Overall, my impression of the food is good, nothing too phenomenal but perfect to have it with some delicious beers on tap. Great location and very spacious seating inside with some seating outside. I've been coming here since this place opened and it's always been fantastic. It's such a great place to meet up with friends for drinks, dinner and games! The sangria is awesome and cocktails are stout. If you're into beer, this place has a plethora of craft brews to choose from, too. The food is also so delicious! My favorites are the tacos and truffle fries. The ordering system is a little different than I'm used to, but the service is prompt and you don't have to wait long for your order. The beer selection is also great. Reading my previous review, I haven't had a similar, distasteful situation since the one I had with the owner. I've been here twice so far. I've had the chicken street tacos, Brussel sprouts, poutine, black bean burger with fries, Arbor brewing co's strawberry blonde (nitro), short's soft parade shandy, and a margarita off of the brand new cocktail menu. Everything I had was excellent! My only complaint was that the tacos were a little over full (it's hard to complain about that) but the taco kind of fell apart because the tortilla wasn't holding up against all that delicious filling. Maybe if they made it a three taco order and used the same amount of filling but split between three instead of two. Honestly though, this place is fantastic. The staff is super friendly and accommodating, the food is tasty and quick to come out of the kitchen, and the atmosphere is laid back and comfortable. read more

Has an extensive beer menu with a few wines. We just came for the food and realized it was more of a mid-class "food for your beer" type of place rather than a "food with beer" place. Cool and dim inside, very chill atmosphere. Good for working class after work happy hour tim I got the Rappourt Burger and Fries: - Fries were really good and tasty. Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. - The burger was overall, just okay. It was different (in a good way) because they had pickled onions, cherry tomatoes, and a unique minted berry radish but these ingredients made the burger more sweet than savory. It tasted good, it was just different. But these ingredients were also cold so even though the patty was warm, the entire burger was pretty lukewarm and not hot. I also asked for the patty to be medium but it was more like well done with one small piece of pink in it. TL;DR The place is cool. Good for mid-class but casual beer with colleagues and friends but food is not astounding. read more

Service is pretty good-they we're good about collecting used plates and glasses and asking if we wanted a refill. Beer- on tap and pretty good selection. Something for everyone. Stouts, bocks, sours, saisons, pils, IPA, Rye....if you like beer you'll find something good here to drink. I had the Relativity Imperial IPA, it was perfect. Poutine was disappointing. Something wasn't right with the gravy so they took it back (without attitude - Thank you!) and they sampled in the back with the cook, all were in agreement that today wasn't a good day for the poutine. Apparently this is a "regular problem" according to the staff. Beware Ordered a burger which is advertised with a single price and includes any toppings you want for one price.... EXCEPT bacon. $2 for bacon. I love bacon on my burgers so I never like seeing an upcharge on bacon mostly because you pay a premium and you get lousy bacon or a tiny piece. Neither was the case today. Came with some great, thick bacon and a lot of it! Thank you! Well worth the $2 upcharge. Overall the burger was good. Beer battered fries were very good too. The cauliflower and brussel sprouts shareables are a must. Comfortable, spacious, clean with friendly and efficient service. Parking and access are easy. Great new add to the northern side of Ann Arbor. Some initial reactions: - Plenty of beers on tap, even some wine on draft - Solid burger, clever spin of the usual - I went on a Tuesday at 6p and it was packed! (Promising!) - Because it's off the downtown path, will be interested to see who the regular crowd becomes. Unlikely undergrads, likely more working young professionals / adults. Went back there after a year and it still has its sparks . The food is amazing as always and they have such a big selection of beers that makes me wonder . I love this place mostly because of their food and the free parking space . The ambiance is nice too . We were there in a big group and we sat there for a long time and from start to end the service was just great . One incident I noticed which I want to share here . One of my friends order got mixed up, when they served the food my friend realized that she wanted to order something else and when she expressed that to the server without any argument or question that who's fault it is they replaced the order and they didn't charge her for the order they already served her on the table . They were so polite and good behaved. I was really impressed by that kind of customer service. read more

I can't express how much I want to give this place 5 stars. The beer selection is amazing. The food is fantastic. The owners are terrific guys who clearly care about their customers. But I can only give 2, including a bonus star out of affection for the late, great Wine Seller. Why? The service is spectacularly bad. Pig bitingly, baby punchingly bad. I'm usually a pretty patient, easy-going guy. I waited 45 minutes before asking the bartender what was going on with my food order. She gave some meaningless excuse ("your order is next!") and grabbed the receipt before I could change the tip. 30 minutes later, I got my food but was too pissed off to eat it. I wanted to throw it at someone but that would have made me the bad guy. I wasn't expecting my order immediately. I understand that this isn't McDonalds but it's reasonable to believe my meal might arrive in the same calendar year. The least they could have done was discount the order, but the bartender hid from me as soon as the food was brought out. Rappourt is the only real pub on the north side. It's staggering distance from my home. I literally cheered out loud when it opened. Unfortunately, I don't think I will be back. I'll have more fun drinking whiskey alone on my back porch. I came here with high hopes and was disappointed by the set up, service and attitude of staff. I admit the beer selection is increíble and the food was good but the people working were not only unpleasant but very rude. The manager came out to apologize which is good and maybe gives me hope. I hope they can teach their staff to be slightly friendly or dare I say nice. I have a rule that I'll try a place 3 times but part of why I probably won't try to go back here is the set up of the ordering (something they probably won't change). They don't have servers, just people that bring out food - so if you ask for water they tell you to go get it yourself !? How do you ask for a tip if you aren't serving a table? They hold your card open which I get if you want to stay for a long time and keep drinking but mostly ends up creating a long line at the front of people that want to check out as well as people that want to order. You have to get up and wait in line again to reorder a drink or food? I'll end on the note that when I walked in and came up to the bar the guy told me to wait in line to be served then proceeded to pour a beer for an employee (still in uniform) that had just finished working and chat with her. Instead of serving me. This was right at the front of the bar where everyone was waiting in line. Not well done - pour her one and hand it to her in the back or at least somewhere less visible. read more

They've only been open 6 weeks so I'll give them some benefit of the doubt. For a celebratory dinner I decided I wanted to come to the unfortunately named Rappourt Brew & Chew. Seriously dislike the name. It's a cool space; long bar and numerous communal tables. Albeit it looks a little industrial. Good thing we got seats at the bar where you can order both food and drink there because I was not digging the idea of having to wait in line to order then go find a seat. We both got some beer, and it's awesome they have so many Michigan beers. Pretty good selection. For dinner, we shared the burger and kung pao chicken wings. For the price of the burger ($12) you get an insulting amount of fries to go along with a burger that is also fairly on the small size. The fries were good! The burger, not so much. There's a lot going on in it, and they tried to be overly creative. The beef tasted low grade quality, and some of the ingredients were overpowering (minted berry relish). I couldn't even detect the cheese on the burger. And why whole cherry tomatoes? It was also cold. Not sure if it was the ingredients or what. The kung pao wings were a good portion and good flavor, but those too were cold. They have some things to work on, but I'll stop in again sometime to give it another shot. read more

Oh man the tacos (shrimp, carnitas, etc I'll have to try them all) are so so delicious and they have excellent beers- better than most places in down town A2. Ambience is great and the communal seating is really nice for groups. They're a little slow for an hour lunch break if you work 15 minutes away but super polite and it's just a great place for a group. read more
