To be honest, since the opening of Sidecar Donuts in Torrance, I stopped coming here for a while (because Sidecar is much closer to home), but one day during the Covid-lockdown, I went to REI to pick something up then I saw the Randy's sign... I had to make a stop. I got 3 donuts and the total came out to $4.35. What? I thought it was a mistake but checked the receipt and no, it wasn't a mistake. I had gotten used to paying $4 a donut at Sidecar (lol!). I think Randy's is a better bang for your buck, for sure. My favorite? Original glazed. I know, so boring, yet so good!!! The boxes are very flimsy so if you hold the box on the bottom along the edges, the box will open and the donuts will drop on the ground. When I've committed to a splurge of sugar/carb intake, it better be worth it and Randy's donuts wasn't. The selection looks enticing and the variety is there, but the execution of the donut failed. My brother and I both ordered an apple fritter which lacked the crisp outer edge that I crave in an apple fritter. They managed to create a donut that was too sweet and over-fried to the point of tasting burnt. It made me feel sick after not even eating half of it. My husband couldn't decide on which old-fashioned to get, and ended up getting both the glaze and chocolate. He tried the chocolate first and was not that impressed. Then tried some of the glaze and reported it was way too sweet. Going back to the chocolate, he said it would do (sad consolation). I haven't had any of the other Randy's location, but this experience was a total let down. Should've just stuck with my Philz coffee instead. read more

I ate at this location a couple of months ago. The Chocolate twists were dry/hard and the glazed donuts were dry with no real layer of glaze. My daughter just ate the chocolate top part of the twist. Hope they can fix these errors at this location and make soft fresh donuts again. read more

I'm an old school Randy's fan. Been going to the OG Inglewood location for 30 years at least. I'm a purist and not a fan of all the trendy flavors. I go for glaze and devils food. That's it. My feeling is, if you get those right, nothing else matters. Randy's gets those right and has for years and years. I stopped into the new (franchised?) location here on El Segundo because I was in the mood for a sweet treat. I was greeted by a friendly server and ordered up my usual. I took them home to enjoy. The devils food was yummy and tasted exactly how I expected - moist and covered with a thick coating of chocolate frosting. I was disappointed in my glaze. It was not fresh and pretty dry. Not Randy's quality. Because it's Randy's, I'll def give this location another try because it was 15 min before closing and the glaze donuts were probably made a few hours before. read more

Love there donuts. I came here right before they closed and the gentlemen behind the counter was extremely helpful. I loved the decor inside especially the pic of snoop dog. All the donuts we ordered tasted fresh and delicious. They didn't have all the flavors available as they sold out of some but my favorite one that we ordered was the smore donut. Chocolate frosting with two huge soft marshmallows on top. I will definately be back to grab another dozen. read more

They made a good donut but have slipped since Ron & Larry sold the brand in '15. The apple fritter I recently had could have choked a bird. SO... I am the goof up of all goof ups! [insert choice language here!!] I ordered donuts for a work event online. Somehow, I clicked on the wrong date to pick up my order. I showed up what I thought was 30 minutes early to pick up my order, but they didn't have it there, a little digging about and we figured out I WAS 24 HOURS and 30 MINUTES EARLY!! In most cases that wouldn't be a huge deal, except my order was for SIXTEEN DOZEN DOUGHNUTS!! For those of you without calculators handy that is 192 pieces! OMG I thought I was done for! But the staff was great, a couple of them just pitched in and pulled my entire order together in just under 20 minutes. Amazing service. Our event was saved. My first review for 2019! I've heard so much about this donut shop, but have never tried it. Flying over it to LAX, I've always wondered what it was like. So, when I found out it was now in El Segundo too, I jumped on this opportunity to try it out early this morning. The best selections are always in the morning, and although 30 miles away, was just a half hour drive. The location neighbors Shake Shack on Rosecrans, and there's a lot of parking behind the store. The display case is huge, and has various levels of donuts. I asked for recommendations, since I've never had these donuts before, so I put my gastronomic life in her hands. She did not lead me wrong, except they ran out of my favorite Maple Bar, which I was looking forward to. Three Sunday mornings in a row now and NO Apple fritters! Hard to believe that on a weekend morning you're sold out by 6:45 AM. Sorry, guys but you can't blame this on Covid! I have owned several fast food restaurants in the past and this is clearly an inventory management issue. I believe that Apple fritters are probably one of the most popular donuts, so no excuses. As you know customer retention is paramount and word of mouth advertising is important. Sorry, but after three strikes this customer is now going somewhere else for donuts. Follow up to review: Immediately after leaving the above negative review, Samara Friedman, Randy's Donuts VP of Operations, contacted me via email, apologized and promised to investigate and resolve the issues that were occurring at their El Segunda store. This certainly demonstrated to me that Randy's culture fosters and supports total customer satisfaction. Problems and issues undoubtedly arise in a business, but the hallmark of a Best in Class company is a high level of responsiveness and quick remedial action when an issue comes to their attention. Our first time visiting since we were in the area getting lunch and had heard so much about them!! The donuts live up to their reputation!!! I'm so glad we stopped in even though we were full from lunch. We bought a dozen donuts for a snack later and for breakfast the next day!! Heard many great things about this place on social media and decided to finally give it a try since they opened one closer to my boyfriend's house. I came around 4pm on a Saturday evening and there were no lines and available parking in front. However, there were also very limited selections of donuts. I wanted to try some of their premium, unique flavors but they only had the basics and some fancy ones. I went for the raised chocolate glazed and fruity pebbles donuts. The dough was really good - light, a little fluffy and stretchy. The chocolate glaze wasn't super sweet so I didn't get sick of it right away. The fruity pebbles donut reminded of milk and cereal but in donut form, I recommend if you like cereal type desserts! Overall, I was disappointed in how little variety there was when I went l but I'm sure they have all their flavors earlier in the day. However, with the 2 donuts I did try, I was very satisfied. read more

It's hard to find a donut shop west of Aviation Blvd near all the major businesses in the El Segundo area. This shop filled a niche in terms of convenience and quality. It's one of the few donut shops that is open longer than just in the morning. Quality: So, if I come in the morning, it's pretty great: fresh, melt-in-your-mouth taste. I would rate this as on par with Stan's in Westwood and slightly below Anita's Donuts in Torrance which is super fresh and has some wow-factor when you put it in your mouth. However, Anita's in Torrance closes by noon and has minimal to no variety. So Randy's does the exact same (but only fresh-tasting in the morning hours), has variety, and is also open into the afternoon. It's just that the donuts taste a bit drier in the afternoon, but the fact that they're even open is already extra brownie points. That's how this gets 5 stars while not being perfect. Service: I kind of got a less-than-enthusiastic feeling from the employee here when I came in a 3:30p.m. and the shop was empty. I'm not sure why. The weeks after that, the employees were more friendly, so I'm not going to dock a star for that. read more

I'm so happy there's a closer one to my house. I don't have to drive out to the Inglewood location. I always get the raised glazed/glazed twists or the chocolate long John/chocolate twists, so I can only speak for those, but I love the dough! It's so soft and the chocolate just melts in your mouth. I was excited to come to this location as it is right next to the Tender Greens I frequent. But I was slightly disappointed with my experience here. When we walked in the space was small and there was no music playing. The sales woman wasn't friendly at all and when we asked about certain types of donuts she just kept redirecting us to the case. Saying "this is all I have right now" so we bought two donuts and left. We won't be returning...there are a lot more options at other places that is more deserving of my money. read more

I'm glad I waited until my second visit to write this review. The first time I went, it was almost closing time, so that's why I thought they had very little selection. I don't really remember what I got, but it was just ok. The donuts tasted like donuts at the end of the day, like leftovers. My reaction was, ugh, so overrated. BUT, I was craving donuts last weekend and decided to give it another try. It was almost closing time again, so I was expecting like, three choices, but I was so excited to see that this time, they had many selections! I got the chocolate glazed, sugar, and glazed with m&m's. And this time I was VERY impressed. The dough was soft and tasted fresh. The m&m one was a little too sweet for me, so I'll probably stick with more plain donuts, but I am thinking I'll be here very often from now on. My new fave dessert place! read more
