New to the area and this will be my go to breakfast spot. I've been twice. First time was spectacular all the way around. Second trip I had a distracted server and a different cook which was obvious since I ordered the exact same thing. Hoping my next trip will be like the first. Excellent Chicken Fried Steak. Cute place. Flavored coffee creamers (huge plus). I've been in the restaurant business along time and just curious why they don't have any support staff i.e. a busser or host? It would help the weird flow I experienced on my second visit. And for everyone complaining about religious notes on the tables... simply don't read the little book that's off to the side if you take offense. It's fun to visit a new place and accidentally come upon a spot that is a local gem. I had a bacon avocado feta omelet that was as big as my face. I barely made a dent in that monstrous egg concoction. Oh, and the darn thing came with a huge plate-sized pancake! The portions here are plenty to share. Crab Benedict was also delicious. I eat out at a lot of places and tend to not revue the average. This place is far from average. Not a fancy joint, it's a neighborhood place that exudes friendly. My wife had a tri-tip sandwich that I took a taste of. I thought it was filet mignon! Perfectly cooked, extra tender, tasty med rare on toasted sour dough. My Ortega burger was a half pound of perfect with melted jack cheese, lots of Ortega chilies and their own tangy sauce with a perfect bun. It appears that they take a personal part in every thing on the plate. My boss took me here for breakfast to celebrate Admin Professionals Day (yes I have a great boss!) and it was the best french toast I have ever had!! I normally get omelette's for breakfast and they had a Greek omelet that sounded really good but since I wasn't all that hungry, I went with the french toast (the small order). My boss got eggs w/country potatoes and I seriously wanted to reach over and grab a bite! I'm definitely coming back this weekend so I can try the omelet and their potatoes. The restaurant itself is extremely small and I can see why it's always so crowded on the weekends. We've actually tried to go a few times on Saturday morning but didn't want to wait. It is a bit expensive but I'd rather pay a couple dollars more and have a great meal than go to IHOP or Denny's and get cheaper food that tastes like crap. But that's just me. If you're on a budget, split a plate with a friend. Their portions are definitely large enough! read more

Denis' serves some very good food, but the service could use some tightening up. When we arrived we asked for two decafs, which when served were cold. They apologized and brewed a fresh pot, but then had to be reminded with each refill that we needed decaf. I got the Gyro omelette with a pancake and hash browns, which was sort of a mixed bag. The pancake was excellent, and the omelette was good (nice flavor, but maybe needed another ingredient in the mix to liven it up more), however, the hash browns were overdone and disappointing. My girlfriend ordered the Tamale omelette (which she loved), country potatoes, and a biscuit with gravy (good, but not great), but they gave her the sub-par hash browns instead of the potatoes by mistake. We didn't bother asking them to correct the order. From the reviews, I assume Denis' was just having an off day, and we'd certainly give them another try when we're back in Lodi. read more

The chicken fried steak was really good. The staff had really nice uniforms, which were clean and smart looking. There is nothing worse then going to a restaurant and the staff is all greasy and dirty! The inside was very french country cute! Just good food doesn't cut it! When you go eat your experience should be an overall experience of taste, smells and appearance! Even if the food is good, if the place is gross there is no way you can feel comfortable about the food! The place was very clean and the food that came out was huge! The only thing I was a little surprised about was the prices, they seemed a little high for breakfast. I mean breakfast should be pretty cheap since you are eating eggs and potatoes, which are cheap items. I probably will go there again, but the prices will keep me away. read more

This place was awesome! I came here for saturday brunch and it was pretty packed. I ordered a country benedict. The biscuit was fresh and light but they give you a BIG piece. Seeing as how I sat at the bar, you'd figure I would have been asked maybe once every 10 minutes if I wanted a topper on my coffee? NOPE! Forget that crappy IHOP-esque restaurant type. GO TO DENIS' COUNTRY KITCHEN FOR BREAKFAST!!!!! Okay, downside, it's a bit pricier, but the food is sooooooooooooooo good. I have yet to find a better pancake or french toast. This place is unique because the owner is Greek so he has a bunch of items that he has influenced with a hint of Greece. If you're a salad lover, any of the salads on menu will not disappoint. I eat here about 2x a month and love their Greek salad with chicken and loaded with lots of good stuff. The dressing is absolutely delicious! The portions are very generous, a half salad is big enough. My companion has had the crab and eggs Benedict and absolutely loves it. The English muffin is made from scratch. Not many restaurants make anything from scratch anymore. I definitely recommend this restaurant, you won't be disappointed. read more

I don't even know how to describe how horrible this place is. The owner, a very rude man, butted into our conversation more than once. We waited for over 40 minutes for our food. There were 3 of us and the food came out separately for 2 of us. Our third person never got her food. When she tried to cancel her order.. the owner started yelling at her, my daughter, and the whole place was looking. It was embarassing. My husband's omelet looked like dog food. The coffee was weak. WOW! My Mom and stopped her based on yelp reviews on our way home from the bay area. We were super impressed with the delicious, scrumptious food. I saw the reviews about the crab Benedict and my Mom wanted it so I asked for the Chile Verde benedict that was on special. It was busy and worth the wait. When my Mom's food go dropped off they said they had made a chile Verde omelet instead of the benedict. We were tight for time so I told them that was fine. The waitress ran back quick before they dumped it. It was so yummy. I got it with country style potatoes and they were seasoned just right, not hard or too mushy. I also got a side of fruit since I had the omelet instead of the benedict. I saved some of my omelet and fruit to go because it was so much food. If I lived in Lodi, this would be my favorite breakfast/brunch place. I also noticed a lot to go pick ups. They actually have their own little station to pick up. I'm sure I would use it a lot if I was local. The weird thing is, I didn't see any bathrooms. Kinda odd. It's a small little place so we were happy we didn't have to wait to long. If we are in Lodi again and are needing some good breakfast or brunch we know where to go. read more

Came in with a friend last week and neither of us had been there before. They had a crowd considering it was noon on a Wednesday :) I had the Greek salad w/tri-tip and mushrooms. Holy Yummy Batman! The salad was amazing and I would have been happy with just that! I'm a huge Greek salad lover and I had never had it with hard boiled eggs before and I was pleasantly surprised! The tri-tip was cooked a perfect rare and the mushrooms were a great addition! Totally worth the $14! (I think it was $12 plus $2 for mushrooms or something like that. I was worth whatever I paid for sure!) I noticed the menu mentioned "famous fries" so of course I had to try those too! They are lightly battered and while I can't say I've never had those before, they were still very good! My friend had french toast with a side of sausage and she said it was really good too! I have to update this review. I waited a solid 5.5 months before coming back to Country Kitchen but I returned TWICE last week and the service was great. The food here is generally awesome; and I love that they serve a good amount of healthy options plus breakfast and lunch. This Lodi spot has always been a favorite so I was happy to return and have a good experience. I go out to breakfast at least once a week, and this will go back to being my regular spot! read more

I absolutely love this place. My husband and I live in Los Angeles and occasionally drive to Stockton to visit family. We always make time to swing by here and have breakfast. The food and service are amazing. My favorite dish is the Crab Omelet hands down !! The only downside is the coffee... but it is free so no big deal. If you want a nice cup of coffee with your breakfast I recommend picking one up at your favorite spot on your way here. read more

Ordered breakfast to go this AM. Was very disappointed with the biscuits and gravy. It was somewhat flavorless, and biscuits weren't true biscuits. Very disappointing,as this location used to be one of the top two places in Lodi to get real "homemade" style biscuits and gravy, this is no longer the case. Now it is similar to Denny's B & G. Husband's omelet was good, as were the other items. Only thing is in the past food was GREAT. Seems quality has changed. read more

Four stars because it's overpriced for what you get and our daughters breakfast came out long before my husbands or mine did. She was completely done and bored by the time we got ours. I ordered the pork chop breakfast and it comes with 2 eggs, choice of potatoes and choice of pancake or toast. Chops on the small side and boneless, but they had a real good flavor and the pancake was fluffy. Country potatoes had onion and bell pepper, but not a lot so I could eat around them and they were good. But that's personal preference. I've been here twice now (to go) and the food has been very good with really good portions so far. But the menus on here aren't updated. I noticed that once I came to pick up my food. I took a look at the menu here and prices were a little higher. Some things were the same, some not. That's the only con I think of for now! Oh and I LOVE how they put holes on the ToGo boxes so your food doesn't get soggy and what not. It's the only place where I've seen them do it. read more

By far my favorite breakfast spot ever!!!! I love the Greek scramble and can't get enough of the egg's beni! Lunch is great too, great soups (chili...yum) and sandwiches. The servers are friendly, and Denis himself will even pop out to say hello.
