One of my favorite spots in town! They're consistent here every time on the food. Staff's friendly & genuinely seem to enjoy working here. Food and drinks are fresh. Highly recommend coming in as early as possible as this place can rack up quite the line. The earlier you come in, the more baked goods will be available. Ambience is good, especially post remodel where more space was added / expanded a few months ago. Highly recommend stopping in & going with the avocado toast. By default, anything they make with egg is done over medium. Recommend ordering eggs over hard or scrambled or things can get messy! Parking situation wise, this Business Shares a parking lot with Golden Bear Physical Therapy, with Golden Bear Physical Therapy holding a majority of the spots. Absolutely one of the best cafes in California. A hidden gem in the Central Valley, located in downtown Lodi. The coffee is perfect, flavorful and creamy. The baked goods are a nice touch. Stopped by during the street fair and this place was packed! Thankfully the turnaround time for the tables was fairly quick and there's plenty of seating. The cappuccino was silky, smooth perfection! The iced latte was just another latte...nothing special. My strawberry danish was AMAZINGLY fresh and crispy. I swear I could eat layer by layer lol. Ruby's is located on Church street. Plenty of street parking or there is a lot across the way. When you walk in it's industrial vibes with wood furniture. It can get quite loud so I wouldn't come here to study, but it's more of a place to meet a friend or enjoy a vibrant atmosphere. The service can feel a little rushed so take a minute to look and decide before hoping in line. There was plenty of seating but a lot people took their items to go. One note: someone did bring out my danish because it was getting heated up but they have you clear your own table and put the dishes in a bin near the drink pick up area. The pastries are excellent. I opted for the chorizo and egg danish with a chocolate chip cookie on the side. The danish was flaky and the chorizo was so flavorful. They offered me a side of salsa that had a nice kick to it and paired well with the danish. The chocolate chip cookie was full of rich chocolate chunks and had a nice crisp around the edges but soft center. It's more flat and chewy which I like. I also got a cappuccino which paired nicely with the cookie. Prices were good given the quality of the food. It is amazing and I will definitely be back to try other items. read more

The CC cookies are always worth getting even if it's to eat later on after dinner with a nice cold glass of milk. They offer tasty breakfast toasts/sands/pastries with eggs and bacon and avocado and other fancy type of breakfasts which may include chorizo and potatoes. I like!! They offer Insight Coffee and their vanilla lattes and mochas are really well made with the right froth and sweetness. It's a fast paced environment but never too busy for a "good morning" or "thanks for coming ," shout out. Plenty of parking in front or the back. Busy bustling atmosphere. It was a rainy day, but we felt like grabbing some pastries and their Egg Ricotta sandwich. As always, there was a line. But that's when you know a place is good haha. It was loud and crowded, but the staff kept the line moving. As usual, their items are always fresh. I did however notice something different with our go to Egg Ricotta sandwich. This time around it was very spicy! I looked at my previous pics, and it's the same amount of chili, but it was just the right amount of spice. We ordered 4 that day, and all 4 were super spicy. We had to scoop the chili out, which is definitely not ideal. Not sure what happened. Did they use a different chili oil brand? Was it just more concentrated for some reason? Whatever it was, they weren't good that day. Hopefully it was just an off day, and it'll be better next time around. read more

Came at the last hour the cafe was open since I was having brunch with friends at a restaurant around the corner. From the pictures on Yelp, I was looking forward to the sugar bun and turnovers but sadly wasn't able to snag any. I imagine they sold out quickly! I got treated pretty mean today, I have been to RUBYS QUITE A FEW TIMES. Today I was second in line, admiring the tasty eats in the window well then became 1st in line when the nice couple in front of me said, "hey register gal called for next.". I walked up the both the two gals and they both said very NASTY LIKE, get back in line, the end of the line is back by the door. When I tried to explain to them they shook their heads in dismay, the one girl said oh just let him go. yes we can. Maybe just a miss understanding???? My experience was good other than, but today put a bad taste in my mouth I know they are busy, but you don't talk to your Customer like that. I felt like a loser and the girl that was in front of me felt sorry for me. They Have a really cute place, seems like they do business very well, Always busy, I'm happy for them. I love their food. OMG, what a pleasant visit! The staff here were incredibly nice and welcoming. While I was ordering my coffee, a staff member behind the cashier chimed in and mentioned they had recently tried the iced cappuccino and loved it. I decided to give it a try too and wow, it was SO good! In fact, my sister ended up stealing it from me and made me take her drink instead. The pastries were all delicious, but the sugar bun was my absolute favorite. Everything tasted fresh and perfectly made. There's no table service here per se. You order at the counter, pick up your coffee yourself and take a number to your table to receive your meal. The menu is limited, but adequate. My avocado toast was absolutely fantastic and so is my coffee. This place was recommended to me by a friend and I have to say it was an excellent recommendation. read more

Had a vanilla latte with an extra shot and their pizza bread with corn as a little morning pick me up. It came with ranch on the side! It was a great start to my day. The pizza was unique and so tasty. I was craving it and went back later that week but they were not selling it. Coffee was strong and sweet - gave me a great boost to get stuff done. This is a standout bakery in the area, and the recently expanded space makes it much more comfortable inside. It's usually busy, and during the holidays you can definitely expect a line. They often run out of popular items early, so it's best to arrive as soon as they open if you want the full selection. The menu is seasonal and features one of the best desserts I've ever had: the crolair. It's a light, flaky pastry filled with custard, topped with toasted meringue and fresh fruit. I had lunch at Ruby's today with some friends. The atmosphere and service was great. A nice gentleman was friendly and hospitable. I tipped him because of this. However, apparently management made the poor guy have to charge me a dollar extra because I wanted mayonnaise on my sandwich. Opted to not have the Dijon that they offer. So rather than have a dry breaded sandwich I requested mayonnaise and he charged me a dollar extra. I know prices are crazy these days and it's especially hitting small businesses. So I'm willing to pay the higher prices for good quality food which they have. But punishing me because I like mayonnaise better than dijon seemed unfair and definitely was annoying. read more

We were greeted with a warm smile as our order was taken. The coffee condiments as well as utensils are located against the wall. All eggs served medium. This is a place that you must go to if you want to get comfort food as in desserts, pastries and coffees. It's just an amazing little bakery that has amazing food, which includes desserts. On Thursdays there's deep dish pizza that reminds me of homemade pizza my grandmother used to make for me. It's very good. Also they do have soup. I believe it's always tomato soup. It is really tasty. There is always usually a cheesecake and another kind of cake or pie, croissants, chocolate chip cookies that are made with I believe with rye flour, shortbread cookies, quiche and they make this toast type open faced sandwich it's one of my favorites. They have a sundried tomato bechamel that makes it so that it isn't dry but isn't too messy to eat. For vegetarians, they have a veggie version! - Seasonal Danish: Some people go for the flaky croissants but I like the eat-ability of the flat flaky danish for. The coffee items are pretty basic as they did not have caramel flavored coffee. I ending up getting the mocha latte and it was pretty good. I got a chocolate croissant and it was so flaky, buttery, and soft with chocolate chunks. It was so good! The service was great. As soon as we/or anyone walked in, we were greeted. I ate at the famous Pietro's this week, twice, and had some of the bread they served. One is baked in-house, the other, was sliced sourdough. Wow. Found out they get it at Rudy's. Well, I sought it out. Holy. The green chile-cheese filled croissant with everything was unbelievably good. The cranberry-orange scone devine. But the bread, huge and $12 was worth every penny. Go for the amazing croissants. Nice golden color, flaky crust, light and airy interior with a deliciously rich and buttery flavor! The ham and cheese quiche didn't have the light and creamy texture I wanted so I'd skip those next time. The coffee is also more on the acidic side for my taste. Staff are friendly and efficient. There are many tables for dining as well as an area in the hallway you can sit at as well, however, please be aware this place gets busy. Cute art is hung all along the walls.
