If zero stars were an option, that is why I would give them. Three weeks ago, I took in my just over 2 year old Asus laptop, for failure to read the hard-drive. When I got there, it fired right up, no problems, I should have turned around and left. The staff convinced me to leave it, and have them check it out. Everything went down hill after that. 1: they never contacted me with updates, I always had to call them. 2: two days after leaving my computer, I called, they stated everything checked out fine, and to come pick it up, when I arrived to pick up my computer, it had no video display, once again, I was asked to leave it, and they would check it out. 3: several days later, I called or went by, and I was told, they thought it was the motherboard, that it did not display to the internal display, but it did display to a external monitor. On Monday, they would send it to their motherboard "expert" and have it examined. (Anyone that knows computers, should know, if you have a motherboard problem, knows, if you have video output problems at the motherboard, you will have NO video output. 4: called or went by several days later again, and was told they had ordered a new video cable, that it had not had the motherboard evaluated yet, they now thought it was the cable that went from the motherboard to the internal display. Upon further questioning, they admitted they might have pinched and damaged the original cord while "repairing" my computer. (As they ordered from an "over seas" vender, it took almost two weeks for this cable to arrive. 5: all along, I told them I worked overseas and needed my computer by xx xx xxxx date. 6: cable finally arrived, was installed, during phone call with them was told everything worked fine and to come pick up. Arrived, only to find vertical red, blue, green lines on display, (another new problem, not present when I originally took my computer in. Was again asked to leave, and they would check further. 7: went in two days later, (Friday, leaving country Sunday) was told they now believed it was the video display itself, and that it could not be repaired in time for my departure, could I or would I be ok to either a: leave it behind, or b: be OK with the red, green, blue vertical lines until I came home. What was I to do? 8: took computer home, RGB lines and all. Fired computer up to make sure it worked, and as soon as I turned it on, I smelt burned electronics, and the computer shut off, never to boot up again. I took my computer here, because I had delt with a Rancho Computers in the past, and had nothing but good luck, however, this was not the same business, when I first walked in and saw this, I should have turned around and walked right back out!!! Did they sabotage my computer, I don't know, did they maybe work on it ungrounded? Perhaps. The damage is done and I'll never know. However I do know, I will never go here again, except maybe for a free computer, or free repair of whatever they did to my computer. And I also know I will NEVER, EVER, recommend Rancho Computers to ANYONE, do NOT go there. Lesson learned, should have listened to gut instinct and turned around and walked out on day one. Hope they go out of business so no one else experiences the poor service I have. read more

My computer got a virus and Neil at Rancho Computers took the time to do a complete diagnosis. Unfortunately the virus destroyed too many components. Neil tried several things to fix it at no charge. In the end it was cheaper to buy a new computer. Neil gave me a great price for a super fast, small desk top Lenovo. He transferred all my pictures, documents and put some anti-virus software on it. I am very satisficed with the service I received. Neil is very professional, he has a tremendous amount of knowledge and is very friendly. I brought in my computer so that I can get my operating system installed. Brian took a look at it and did his thing of testing both hardware and software, there after he installed my operating system in a timely manner. After running his diagnostics he called me and told me that the computer is good and that there was nothing found. He was then given permission to do a fresh install of Windows. It's as good as it gets. I asked for a quote to get a cooling fan replaced on my laptop. They told me that they would need to open it and make sure they order the correct fan and that would take about a week. They opened it up and found out that there was just some small plastic pieces that were blocking the fan. They cleaned it out and tested it. Honest and competent - I would use these folks again without hesitation. I brought my printer (it's an expensive printer) to their store for service after contacting several other places on Yelp that either charged way too much or couldn't help with my device. In my case, my printer needed cleaning in places that I couldn't reach and I didn't have the time to figure out how to do it on my own. They diagnosed my machine, cleaned it, and it was ready for pick up less than two hours later. One place told me that they wanted $150 for the work - these guys did it for $30, which was well worth it for me. I strongly recommend them for any hardware issues. read more

Free diagnostics. Can't complain. Pretty helpful. Answered my questions the best they could over the phone in order for me to get an idea of what type of repairs I may be needing. I've had them repair 2 of my computers already and they are working great. Customer service is not terrible but a little dry (but at the same time you shouldn't expect a hug and a warm towel when you walk in). Have always had great service. One time my screen wouldn't turn on, and they fixed it for free. They said that it was something small, so there was no need to charge me. On another occasion, I was having network issues at home. I called Rancho Computers, and someone came to my house the same day and set up my network the way I wanted it.
