I've never been to the middle east, but if I ever do make it out there at some point, I only HOPE the food is as delicious as the food I tried at Rami's. I ordered a pita stuffed with hummus, fallafel, and some other good veggies and was blown out of the world. It's an overstuffed pita so by the time I made that last bite, I was more than content in terms of hunger. Keep in mind that I'm a guy and not only love food, but can eat a TON. Not only was the food outstanding, but the two guys that were working there were both very friendly. It's not really the type of place to have an elegant sit down dinner, but it's the perfect place for that "hitting the spot" weekday lunch that you crave on a daily basis. Not to say that I wouldn't have this place for dinner, because the food definitely warrants that, but the place is somewhat small. The falafel are melt in your mouth. The kabob sandwich was good. Shawarma was so-so (dry). Bread was good. Portions are large, making the meals pricier than I would expect for a sandwich. We had leftovers, but when I went to eat them fewer than two days later, there was fuzzy mold on the tomatoes. For these prices, I'll pass next time. read more

Really delicious falafel and hummus. I also like the pita bread: it's substantial enough to not tear, but not so dense as to overwhelm anything you put inside. I think the prices are okay, especially given the restrictions and cost of kosher products. The Rami's Special plate is on the expensive side (16.95) but I've only ordered it once, because it is a LOT of food. I'll stick to the falafel pita from now on. Also really enjoy the peach nectar. I've always had a pleasant experience with the people working here. They are friendly but efficient. read more

This is the best schwarma that I have eaten (even better than Israel!). I like that they can adjust the spice to your taste. No one can beat the quality. The only reason it has 4-stars is the price ($11 + tax for shwarma pita sandwich), but the taste and quality can easily make up for the price. read more

I've been to Rami's several times. I love the falafel sandwich. The reason I give it three stars is because of customer relations. There is definitely too much shouting that I felt I was in the Israeli army. If there were more TLC to customers that support their business, I'm sure they would get better reviews. The prices are absurd, $12 for a pita sandwich?!?! Worse than that, I ordered two falafel balls on the side, for which they charged me 70 cents each, and they were the size of bubble gum balls. C'mon. These folks are shameless. I hate to compare, but when I go to Falafel King, they generally give me an enormous falafel ball to sample, and if I should choose to order one, they even include hummus at no extra charge. quality menu from top to bottom, whether it's the freshly fried falafel, the crunchy and juicy schwarma or the spicy chicken, you won't be disappointed by the overstuffed pita & houmous sandwiches they put together (definitely go with the hot sauce, it's adds so much, but doesn't distract from the main ingredients). within 3 or 4 visits, they'll recognize you as a regular, and you'll be on a first name basis after that. so glad i work just up the street and can pop in for a quick and quality lunch about once a week. happy 20th anniversary! read more

I can't understand the positive reviews for Ramis. I was there yesterday...way overpriced for what you get. Falafel & hummus plate $7.95 for (6)? That's without salad. Small shwarma pita...$7.95? Hummus has too much tahini., bland..where's the lemon juice & garlic flavor? Falafel small, tasteless & cook removes from fry basket without gloves. Pita thick & doughy. Doesn't come close to Israeli food. All that with not a smile from any of the workers. Do yourself a favor & eat elsewhere. Two measly orders...$17.01...oh, yes that included tax! I ordered falafel with pita and hummus. The falafel quantity inside the pita was generous and it was one of the best (if not the best) falafel I've had. Even the pita was nice and fluffy and not dry/hard. My only complaint is about the overall quantity for the price. There are only a couple of eating experiences that one can mark one's life with (so good you can remember the taste forever); this is one of them. I've been going to Rami's for years now, and after i recent bad experience i will not be returning. The owner is a nice guy and is great, a friend of mine, but i called on sunday, october 4th at 2 pm and the guy who answered was so horrendously rude that i feel it is against my principle to return. I called to place an order, he said NO and hung up on me. i thought perhaps we got disconnected so called again. i said ive been a customer for 5 years and frequently bring people there, id like to at least pick food up. The guy responded by saying, stop calling, nd that i am getting on his nerves. This was during their operating hours. i walked by and saw they were serving over 10 people. I called again, and he told me that they were closed. what kind of treatment is this? i will not be back, these people are extremely rude. And the food has decreased in quality too! read more

The food was decent, but I will not be going back. It took a while to be served, and then after my friend and I had our sandwiches, we went up to the register. The guy was on the phone taking an order down, and let us stand there for two minutes or so before finally saying, "Sit down, pay after." Place didn't feel very clean and atmosphere was not welcoming. When we were finishing up, I went up to order something to-go and noticed they had already packed up all of the ingredients. I asked if it was too late to order something to go and one of the workers said brusquely, "Well, you better hurry, we're closing." This was a Sunday, early afternoon, and their hours indicated that they were open into the evening. I realized after the fact that they were probably closing early for Rosh Hashanah, but if there was a sign indicating that, it was not obvious to the patrons and they had given no indication they were closing early. No one behind the counter would make eye contact with me, so I assumed we were not going to be making our to-go order after all. One of the guys was also handling food without gloves on, in contrast to the others, so hopefully his hands were clean. My friend and I then went up to pay (planning to bus our table after paying), and one of the workers got annoyed that we had not bused our table already. They were also confused about why we were standing by the register. We paid for our food and left. I would have been completely understanding that they were closing for religious reasons if there had been a sign or friendly mention when my friend and I were first ordering our food, but since there wasn't, I felt like their brusque manner was unjustified. Disappointing because the food was pretty good and because this place had a lot of good reviews, but it looks like other patrons have had similar experiences to ours, especially recently. read more

I don't write reviews but use yelp a good deal. I felt compelled to take the time to write this however. I just got back from Ramis a few minutes ago. Food is ok, definitely overpriced but convenient for me so I picked up. Can hardly believe what an idiot the guy who rung me out was. Not one of the usual guys who does it but one of the guys from the back - older guy w/a beard and kippa. After paying for my take out, I remembered I wanted one more pita bread. I mistakenly asked for a falafel and when they gave it to me, I paused and said "oh shoot. Sorry, I meant pita not falafel". The bearded guy acts like I just scarred him for life. He rolled his eyes, slouched, and moved his arms like it was one of the top 5 worst things that's happened in his life. Geez, what a drama queen. Gosh! Now what to do? How does one go about fixing this most perplexing issue of taking the one falafel from the bag and putting in a pita? I'm not in the food business so it's a complete mystery to me, totally unsolvable. It was so ridiculous that I said "ok, know what, I'll just take the falafel". And guess what, he let me! Which was almost as surprising as his first reaction. Plenty of places that are better so I'll be going to those - Jerusalem Grill is rig there (good but also pricey) is better, Garlic & Lemons is better too, Shawarma King is another. Those are just what come to mind. Believe me, you're too good for this place...Ramis doesn't deserve you. read more
