The toro nigiri barely tastes like anything and the unagi was normal tasting, nothing special. The shrimp tempura was fine as well but I wouldn't say it was anything great. The beef udon was not good and the beef was insanely tough, making the soup completely not worth eating. I don't recommend this place but it's not terrible. I dont think I'll return.

The runner-up was the charred green vegetables. Seriously, that sauce is CRACK! We could have eaten it by the spoonful! We also tried a variety of dumplings. The vegetable ones weren't our favorite, but the pork and chicken dumplings were delicious. The ravioli was rich and incredibly tasty, and the chicken katsu sandwich was HUGE and packed with flavor! Of course, we had to try one of every mocktail! They were all refreshing and delicious, but the mango was the clear standout for us. All in all, a fantastic meal with so many memorable dishes. We'd absolutely come back, especially for those pork belly burnt ends and charred greens! Service was friendly and fast. Inside outside seating available.

Our group was located in an annex room right of the main entrance and was the perfect size to fit all of us. We had 2 primary servers who did an excellent job of making sure we had full glasses and full plates. We did family-style sharing of some of their starters and main dishes. The Bread and Butter was really delicious and it looks like their butter flavor is on rotation daily. The duck wings had a peach glaze and nuoc cham and cilantro- great combination. The chicken vegetable dumplings had great skin and texture. The peppercorn salad was adorned with pickled cabbage, capers, maple coconut, crunchy chickpeas and more - it was amazing. We also tried the Thai basil risotto and it was good but I'd go with the peppercorn salad over this if you're sticking vegetarian. The final dish was Alberta AAA Beef Brisket accompanied by gochujang mashed potatoes and broccolini. The brisket was incredible and just melted on the tongue. And the beer/spirits here were impressive as well. BLAKE is a must-try destination while in Canmore!

Instead, the food felt disconnected from the dishes it was meant to represent. We ordered the sinigang, but it arrived as fried calamari with a separate bowl of fresh sliced tomatoes and spinach, plus a small cup of broth that we had to pour ourselves. It didn't capture the comforting, flavorful essence of traditional sinigang that we were expecting. The portions were also small for the price. Unfortunately, the meal did not feel worth the money, and we left disappointed.

It had extended past the entry to the stairs and after discussing with our group and given an estimated waiting time of half an hour. We decided to eat elsewhere cause we were too hungry to wait. The next day, we got here at 4pm and there was only a couple in front of our group. After waiting 15/20 minutes, they were able to seat our whole group of 7 together and we were all able to chow down. My partner got the chicken karaage and spicy tonkatsu ramen while I got the miso tonkatsu. The chicken karaage was not fried in a manner we usually except for chicken karaage. It was fried more similar to US fried chicken!? It was still delicious, just not what we expected and would have liked a little more. The ramens were amazing and delicious~~ It was quite satisfying with the pork belly and noodles. I liked the chewiness in the noodles too. Personally, I prefer the tonkotsu for the cleaner taste. Their pork is tender and the noodles had the right amount of chew.

The drinks were yum, I got the NA matcha colada which I think was the best option out of the spirit free offerings. By the time we were ready, it took a while to find someone to take our order. The most wanted item is sold out, a fact that they told us upon ordering. Will be appreciated if we know ahead of time so we have more time to consider 'back up item'. There was a table beside us (came after us) who also discussed about ordering same sold-out items, and I was very tempted to tell them that it's sold out. But I figure it's not my place to say because the restaurant must have its own reason for NOT telling this upfront!!?????!! Ordered pork belly skewer , shiitake skewer, shrimp in spicy peanut sauce, and aburi salmon handroll, miso creme brulee. Best items are the shrimp with spicy peanut sauce, and miso creme brulee. Just wow!! For the rest: -If u have eaten shiitake before (at home for example) , u know nothing can go wrong with shiitake as it's already flavorful in its own (safe choice). -Pork belly has good flavor but kinda too fatty (it is a totally different style from the one I usually eat at other places). -Aburi salmon handroll doesnt taste like aburi at all. Just normal handroll basically. Nth special. It was my friend's birthday, we asked if they hv noodle (considering we were farrr from home) and they said it's only available during lunch (which is understandable), but then nth else was done to help celebrate this moment when they hear this fact (simple smile or simple 'happy birthday' could be a gift in its own). Overall, food-wise, we agree on best item and that this place is kinda meh (in terms of food selection and feels like very few 'flavor-worthed' ones).
