Our original Sunday brunch idea fell through so while wandering Canmore found this gem. Not busy 11am on a Sunday. Staff was super friendly, our waters and coffees were constantly topped up. Cool menu, but kind of pricey. My tiramisu waffles were delicious. Marscapone whip cream was not too sweet or overwhelming. Needed more caramel coffee syrup. Lots of fresh raspberries. Presentation looked amazing. Side of egg was worth it for the protein. Friends chilaquiles was awesome. Weird to have soggy nacho chips but apparently that's authentic. They were the perfect amount of soggy. Other friends Loved their eggs Benny and mushroom on toast. Bathroom was clean and nice. Overall everyone Loved their food. Definitely recommend brunch here and would love to come back.

The name of this restaurant deceived me I should have read and made my research first. It is not serving Filipino dishes like I thought the name suggest. We ordered the tuna caveche, porkbelly and korean chicken. They all tasted good but very small portion like fine dining. They are all very tasty but it just settled on our throats because the portion is so minute! The presentation is good. The tuna caveche tasted like Ilokano dinakdakan. Pork belly is good but again you would not feel full. Menu is also limited and we paid $93 for the 3 dishes with the french fries. Kinda pricey i think. Will check out other restaurants nearby and make my moneys worth!

Kain Tayo literally translates to Let's Eat! And to feed the hunger is what this amazing resto does! This resto has recently popped in the food scene in Canmore, and oh man their food is amazing! This resto really took some classic Filipino dishes like Lechon Kawali (Roast Pork), to the next level, and by that i mean pairing it with delicious fried rice and topped with quail eggs. Another dish that blew us away was the super delicious asian twist to chicken and waffles and that is, General TSO Chicken wings with waffles. These 2 dishes we had to order more cus we couldn't share it.. we all wanted our own plate cus it was soooo tasty! And last but not least, is the duck corn dogs! Oh my gawd those corn dogs. Yum! Needless to say, if you're feeling for a nice homey delicious asian cuisine, head on over to Kain Tayo. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. Tara, Kain Tayo!

Decided to try Kain Tayo out as it has a diverse menu ranging from Asian, Filipino, Mexican and Canadian dishes. Very clean, friendly and helpful staff, nice background music, the ambience and decor is very relaxing and comfortable. Ordered the Ramen Noodle Salad as I was craving an Asian dish. Their Mexican Special sounded awesome but I will have to come back another time as there are several choices that I passed up and must try. Nice bar with good selection of alcohol. Pricing is moderate to high depending on the dish. The Ramen Salad is delicious. Definitely made the right choice. Certainly will come be coming back!!!

Amazing gem in Canmore, Alberta, Canada. I'd expect this quality in a big city, so happy to find it here. Everything we had was absolutely delicious and service was perfect! Wether a local or visitor, stop in for an elevated and inclusive dining experience ASAP!

Crispy pork belly with fried rice. Tiny portion of pork and rice and rice had whole peppercorns embedded throughout.

There's only one way to describe this restaurant: lipstick on a pig. They make some attempt to arrange the food "aesthetically" but the taste is mediocre to subpar with ingredients that make no sense (for example the fried rice contained whole peppercorns throughout. Not sure why anyone would want to inevitably chew on whole peppercorns). The crispy pork belly had 5 tiny pieces of pork belly, maybe a 2 oz portion max? Please observe the "empty space" on this plate because that was real. These were labeled as main dishes btw. The cod was bland and the noodles that came with the cod were completely uninspiring. The brussel sprouts were just weirdly flavored with some variation of BBQ sauce. I cook better Brussels in the oven at home. All of the dishes are $30+ for tiny portions like they're pretending to be some high end restaurant, except the ambience, food, and service were all at a level of a place at half that price at best. They're lucky there's no PF Chang's in town because this place is just a rip off.

Visited in off season. Tried a couple appetizers and we each ordered a large plate. I had the Thai "stew" (it's soup) and really enjoyed the flavours. My dining partners had the ramen salad and pork belly. Ramen salad was well liked, as was the pork belly but not the kimchi fried rice. Service was a little odd to be honest, but the food was enjoyable.

Hubby and I came in for the first time for lunch. While we were waiting for our other friends to…read morearrive, we ordered the sago't gulaman(which was a bit too syrupy sweet and contained a lot of ice) and buko(young coconut juice). We thought that we would introduce our friends to Filipino food, so we ordered a little of everything: Chicken Mami Soup: this regular size is meant to be shared by 2 people(or a single serving for one hungry person). The broth was flavourful with generous servings of chicken, suey choy, and boiled egg. Garlic Rice: so yummy! We love fried garlic and there was plenty of it! Laing: the taro leaves were cooked just right in the coconut milk without the shrimp paste being too overpowering. Mixed Bihon & Canton Special: tasty noodles with the right texture(my pet peeve is overcooked noodles). Beef Pares: the beef was meltingly tender with the aromatic sauce. Crispy Pork Kare-Kare: the peanut sauce with vegetables complemented the crispy pork perfectly. The only critique I would have about this dish is that the server should have given us a knife to cut the pork slabs properly (we used the pompano knife instead). It's a little difficult to do this with a fork and spoon... Fried Pompano: this was the last dish to arrive at our table. The fish was delicious, all the way down to the crispy bits near the tail and head without tasting fishy. Our server was friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, she was having her lunch break when we asked for the bill, so another server brought the machine to our table without asking if we wanted to pay separately. We will certainly be back to try the other dishes in their diverse menu!
