My husband and I decided to go here for our final meal before leaving the Banff/Canmore. When we arrived we put our name on the waitlist and because we weren't local, we informed staff and were given a pager to alert us when our table was ready. It is a very small place with a few tables and counter seating. When we entered the restaurant we were seated at the counter and I observed the place being run by only a few people but they have a very smooth system going! Food came out promptly and was well worth the wait! I ordered the original arashi tonkotsu ramen and my husband ordered the black sesame version and we shared a seaweed salad. This broth is delicious and very savory but also it wasn't heavy like some other ramens do. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting, just make sure you have time to wait!

We finished up our day exploring Kootenay and ended up at Ramen Arashi around 7:30ish PM and we entered ourselves on the waitlist. It's a small shop, so we didn't get a chance to ask how long wait would be, but judging by the 10 min wait we did, the turnover seemed fairly quick. We just did a quick walk around the nearby grocery store and back and our table was ready. Between the four of us, we shared Chicken Karaage (2 orders) and a Pork Gyoza. My partner got the Arashi Ramen while I got the Yuzu-Shio Ramen. Order came out quickly. The Chicken Karaage was fried pretty nicely. Juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. It came with a sweet red chili sauce I believe. I think that pairing was okay. Sauce wise, I would have preferred an aioli or none at all. The gyoza were also made the same - juicy on the inside and had a crispy outer wonton shell. This sauce was spicy though! So if your spicy tolerance is low, taste at your own risk. My partner loved it! I just can't handle that spice level. Onto my main dish, the Yuzu-Shio was great for the chilly night! Ramen was perfectly cooked and had a bouncy chew to it. The pork was not too fatty and also tender. The spinach and bamboo shoots were great additional toppings. I wish they swap out the salad leaves with some more hearty veggies since the salad leaves break down with the hot soup pretty easily. Otherwise it was a great and satisfying dinner. I'm glad we got to try this while we were in Canmore!

The tonkotsu was pretty classic and the broth was fantastic. The arashi is supposedly their signature. The broth tasted like tonkotsu with sesame blended in. Personally, I prefer the tonkotsu for the cleaner taste. Their pork is tender and the noodles had the right amount of chew.

Just normal handroll basically. Nth special. It was my friend's birthday, we asked if they hv noodle (considering we were farrr from home) and they said it's only available during lunch (which is understandable), but then nth else was done to help celebrate this moment when they hear this fact (simple smile or simple 'happy birthday' could be a gift in its own). Overall, food-wise, we agree on best item and that this place is kinda meh (in terms of food selection and feels like very few 'flavor-worthed' ones).

The katsu curry was probably the best dish since it actually had a spicy kick and not sweet like other Japanese curries I've had in the past. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
