Today was once of the worst experience i have ever had . The cashier May of been having a bad day but to tell me to move along and to not read the coupon and on top of that I'm trying to control my son( active toddler only other moms would understand ) she even had the nerve to say there's a line you need to move along . I wouldn't even give this a one star. I was shopping in the store this past weekend when I heard the manager I am assuming, she had shoulder length brown hair hair middle age yelling at her employee as if they were ignorant and garbage. No wounder the employees arent happy. As a manger they they should be setting a good example and treating their employees w respect. Selection is okay, but the employees aren't exactly friendly, and the customers can be inconsiderate. Is it really necessary to leave your cart in the middle of the aisle when you can easily push it over to the side? Move your cart over and you won't be annoyed when I ask you to make a little space for me to come through!! This has happened 4/5 times I've been here. read more

Small, crowded, overworked and harried staff but otherwise okay

If I could leave no stars I would. Absolutely a shit show. Live right by here but drive farther to go to a different grocery store. Never any parking. No one ever helps. Shelves are either empty or stocked with broken, unsealed items or mislabeled with wrong price so you get a surprise at checkout. Managers will argue with you about prices when they mislabeled items. One tome a manager called on the loud speaker to have someone help me get something from the top shelf, and none of her employees responded to her... after three attempts she had to help me herself. Avoid, go to any other store for your needs, especially if you want a fair price and decent help. read more

So my recommendation is to try their deli sandwiches. They use Boar's Head Meats, pile the meat high and have decent rolls. $8 for a sandwich, chips and drink. Did the pastrami today and it was great. I would have had to buy 6 pastrami sandwiches at Subway to match the amount of meat on the sandwich. Surprisingly good! read more

Store itself is ok. Not great, but in a pinch, ok. If you are paying with EBT or WIC though, some of the employees are really rude and discriminating. I often go to another store to avoid the rude vibe or go at night when its not so crowded, still get treated poorly. Its called discrimination to do this to any person because they are using these food vouchers from an federally funded program, (which our family qualifies for based on need and income), that partners with this chain of stores. We were all born in this country, pay taxes, and work hard. Circumstances beyond our control contribute to this need at this time. Thank goodness there are these programs to help fill the gaps. Honestly, I'm sure its a hassle for the employees and for the other customers who have to wait 30 seconds longer for my transaction to be done, but its not cool to treat someone differently and apologize to the waiting customer for them having to wait, while I'm standing in line with my kids. SUPER RUDE! Jordan and Norma especially, they has no CLUE how to represent their employer positively. If Kroger/Ralphs are going to do this to customers, why participate in WIC or EBT? Keeps your ears open for a temporary closing of this store (Should be in November or December of 2011). Generally they will liquidate all products at a great price to empty the store. They will be demolishing the shop buildings next door to accommodate for their new expansion. I saw images of what the new Ralphs will look like and I'm sure the city will be pleased. read more

I go to this store several times a week because it is close to my house. This is a good store and the people who work there are very friendly and helpful. I would give them five stars The store itself is clean and well organized. Prices are on the high side but weekly sales are very good. The meat department is very good for a supermarket. Produce is good and very acceptable for a small supermarket I do prefer this Ralph's to the other Ralph's in San Clemente on Camino de los Mares even though the other Ralph's is much larger. I go to this store to buy what I can't get at Costco or Trader Joes. read more

I was unable to find a bakery in San Clemente that was open to make a small cake for my wedding on 1-6-16. I took a chance on having Ralph's do a cake for me. This store has changed so much over the years. I love to walk in to see familiar faces greet me immediately. Cricket is such a doll, so nice , and remembers my kid's names, love her. The produce is always perfect, the sushi bar is very popular. And really where else can you get manager specials on salmon?!? This is my favorite store. read more

I agree, the new store is nice, but you can't change the people. Many inconsiderate people work/shop here for some reason. They could have done so much more with the remodel of this store, its basically the same old store with small aisles with a new produce department in front. Parking is not well thought out, many people park next door at Zebra coffee which may get you towed. read more

This Ralph's store is "Exceptional!" It is extremely clean and they do have great sales on items as well! They have two sections for the "Managers specials". One is for the meat items in a freezer on the bottom right on my way to my AWESOME, AWESOME..special rack of discounted items! I mean pies you can buy and cakes for 99cents and up to $1.99 max! They have a lot there! Yet, if you want this deal.., it is located to the way right in the back of the store on a huge rack! In addition to incredible sales on goodies.. they have bread.. a lot of healthy/gourmet bread and I get a lot of those normally "expensive" flat breads. I DO NOT shop anywhere else! I have been coming to this store almost two years now and lucky for me this store is close to my home! Fantastic managers that run the store! Jennifer, Bob, Barbara and Glen if you ever need something they all go out the way to help! Including every single employee at this Ralph's. I have never had one problem ever.. not one with anyone that works there. The employees there are so very pleasant and smiling and telling me how nice it is to see me. This and pretty much as well as a ton of sales items that that promote makes me go there a lot! Pretty much for the incredible service and such a "Friendly" staff! When I go there it really puts me in a great, great happy mood! I get spoiled all the time!!!!! I go and stock up on items that are on sale.. most complain about the cost of the food yet I do not.. Worst deli in So Orange County!!! The Ribroast & Tri tip are 90% of the time are way overcooked and dry. Half the time the attendants behind the deli counter don't know how to cut slices off properly. The salads, pasta & potato, salads, taste terrible. Poor recipes. Which is inexcusable for our times. Just go online for some great recipes. The deli was alot better before the remodel. The staff was alot freindlier too! Very impersonal now. read more

I really like this Ralph's; they have a great selection of organic produce, and I'll zip in there if I'm downtown. That said, I experienced a mega-rude cashier today. I placed my hand basket on the conveyor belt. Because I was holding a baby and the hand of my 4 year old, I didn't have a chance to unload it or ask for help before she gave me a sneer and upended my basket on the belt, dumping out my groceries. (I had about 6 items) Seriously?? If I didn't have my kids with me, I would have gone to the manager immediately. I've worked a good deal of menial jobs in my life - cleaning toilets, scooping ice cream, waiting tables--so I get "it." This is the WORST store in south Orange County! Their parking lot is poorly designed and cramped (witness the recent fatal accident in their lot), their prices are outrageous, and their selection is horrendous for such a large and "newly remodeled" store. I only go there when I absolutely have to, preferring to drive the extra 5 miles to Stater Brothers. San Clemente deserves better than this store! read more

This location is the best! Parking can be pretty full during busy times but I've always found a place. The inside of the store is immaculate and shelves are usually stocked. If I can't find something (which happens often as they move product locations fairly often) the employees always cheerfully take me to what I need. I've never had a bad experience with an employee. The meat department is great about cutting you a fresh piece of whatever you may need. There's nothing better than fresh brisket! Checkout is always a breeze and the parking lot is very pedestrian friendly with a huge crossing and flashing lights. I love shopping at this location! read more

This past October I was traveling from out of town and needed last minute assistance and recommendations for two things I know nothing about: liquor and weddings. One of the Ralph's employees really helped me out. I believe he was probably a store or liquor manager. Unfortunately I never got his name. However, the wedding was a big success and I was grateful that he had helped me select the right liquor for the occasion. The Groom was very satisfied. I totally recommend this Ralph's. I shop here often but just recently had a situation that is 5 star worthy. I ordered a birthday cake over the phone for my 18 year old's party. I was rushing to pick up a sushi platter and the cake but they couldn't find the cake. So I told them to keep looking while I went to pick up the sushi. When I returned to Ralph's they still hadn't found it but had made a new one up for me. Penelope (manager, I believe) was very helpful and apologetic. Of course the cake would be comped. As we were discussing this, one of the bakery employees had the bright idea to call the other Ralph's and sure enough I had ordered it from that location. I didn't have time to drive to the other Ralph's and felt bad that there was a cake going to waste but Penelope assured me that it was no problem and that this cake would still be comped! It was completely my fault yet they made me feel like it was no big deal and had a sense of humor about it. Thank you Ralph's read more
