Truly one of the best restaurants meets coffee shops in all of Orange County. Every single employee is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Cole is our guy! It feels like a local spot with endless options to enjoy. Their baristas (Lucy is the best) can make everything but also don't shy away from suggesting something new. I've recently fallen in love with an iced flat white with vanilla for a little summer sweet treat. Their drip coffee is divine too! Talk about range... we frequent for brunch/lunch/date night too. Their wine list is truly endless. You can sit inside at the bar, at a gorgeous table with air conditioning, under their adorable pink-striped umbrellas on the patio, or in an extended patio off the sidewalk with plenty of seating. You will be treated with exceptional service regardless of seating. Their brunch menu is delicious. Their chive biscuit breakfast sandwich is incredible, as is their breakfast burrito, chilaquiles AND biscuits and gravy. To be fair, we visit most regularly for a cheese board and meat with a glass of wine. Recently enjoyed the ceviche and smash burger with side-winder fries which was hand crafted and filling. We were sad there were no seats outdoors, but then were immediately appeased by the AMAZING vibe indoors with live music and a hilarious interactive musician. I took my wife here because she loves cheese and who am I to deprive her of a good time at my expense. We loved it, I was particularly open minded for her that day and I didn't understand what I was missing. Their Prosciutto balsamic vinegar things were amazing, I mixed that with their signature triple cream bree with some of their honey on the bread, it was mind blowing. I had a wonderful experience at The Cellar and was honestly surprised to see a negative review about a server's "attitude," because that was the complete opposite of what I witnessed. The owner has created an incredible space warm, intimate ambiance, an outstanding food menu, and one of the best wine selections I've seen in a long time. Everything felt thoughtful and elevated without being pretentious. Our server, Tatum was professional, attentive, and extremely patient. I happened to be seated nearby during an interaction with a group of women who were openly rude and condescending toward her from the start. Despite that, she remained calm, polite, and handled herself with grace. If anything, she showed remarkable composure under unnecessary pressure. Service jobs aren't easy, and it's disappointing when unfair situations get misrepresented online. Based on what I personally observed, Tatum did nothing but her job and did it well. We advised they update their website as that was one of the reasons we went there. Ambiance was nice, a little loud but okay. If they were played any music, it must have been very soft, b/c all we heard was noise from the B-day party of six at the table down from us. Nice music would have been appreciated! We ordered the fried chicken sandwich and asked for a side of mayo at the time we ordered. We waited almost until the sandwich was cold before it was delivered to our table. Found ourselves stuck in San Clemente for an evening as there was an accident holding up the 5. So we took a nice little walk down Avenida Del Mar... after working up an appetite, we noticed a little wine bar and decided to give it a try. As we walked in, we had the impression that it was a little cafe, with fresh pastries and espresso, but then it opens into a full bar area with open seating inside and out -- high-tables, booths, bar seating inside, and outside there was a patio with tables. The had a nice wine menu, with everything from French, Italian and of course Californian reds, to South African and South American varieties. We had a Cali Cab, and a South African Pino. They were a little pricey (but not unexpected considering the location), but we watched our server uncork new bottles... and they were both great. I didn't see a kitchen, but it must have been back there somewhere because there was a full menu of appetizers and entrées. As we watched what others were ordering, it all looked good. Burgers, sandwiches, salads, pastas, and these crescent shaped fries that were like fancy potato wedges. The burrata was amazing! Served over arugula with berries and grilled baguette slices... the cheese was light and smooth and when combined with the fresh greens and lightly acidic dressing over some crunchy bread... wow. I could eat that all night! The "Mac n cheese" was a blend of delicious cheeses over well cooked pasta. Rich, and savory. I had the prime rib dip... really tender meat, melted swiss... and the au ju was perfect. We noticed there is a daily happy hour that we had just missed, but they have small bites and discounted drinks until 6. And then at 7 there's live music. The night we were in there was an artist on guitar/vocals, but there's a full baby grand in the bar so looks like it's a great place to enjoy some music with your drinks.
