My dog Harper enjoying the harbor views from our seats
    Ann L.

My best friend has been telling me about a wine tasting place that she loves in Dana Point Harbor. Frisby's Cellars recently moved into the Waterman's Harbor space. My friend is a wine club member there. As a member, there are a number of free tastings and other discounts. You can order wine flights, wine by the glass or by the bottle and draft beers. The food options are limited but they allowed my friend on a prior to have fish and chips delivered from Jon's Fish Market next door. We were there for lunch and we ordered a Mediterranean salad and a pepperoni flatbread to share and we each got a beer. We ordered at the bar counter and sat on upholstered chairs on the patio. The views of the harbor are beautiful with lots of boats, seals and people to watch. Our salad came out first and it was large (perfect size to split) and was fresh. It was not what I would call a traditional Mediterranean salad but it was delicious. Our flatbread came out shortly afterwards and it was piping hot and it was decent. The service was quick and on point. There are plenty of options to sit...indoors or on the patio where there is a lot to see in the harbor. They are known for being dog friendly so we brought our pups and we all had an amazing time. Next visit I will try some of their wines!

Came here for drinks after a family walk on the harbor and it was so beautiful. They recently moved locations and have a great patio right on the water. Drinks were great- I got the Sauvignon blanc and my husband got a beer. Service was sweet- the owner came by, introduced herself, asked about our family, shared about their other location, and adjusted the shades so the sun wasn't in my baby's eyes. Our bar server also helped us make a menu accommodation so our other son could get some grilled chicken from the kitchen. Loved our experience and will come back!

Everything here is amazing! This has become my new "Cheers" bar. The wine, the food, the service, and not to mention, the view! Dog friendly and kid friendly! It's literally my favorite place. Tracy and Shay are incredible and always brighten my day and always make everyone feel welcomed. Even when things are so busy, they always have a smile on their face and so pleasant to be around. It is by far my favorite place in town. Every staff member there is truly phenomenal. Great job and great crew!

Thanks Drew and Shaylee! Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely wine tasting spot. The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. The charcuterie is absolutely amazing - cheese everything we tasted good. A great experience. Located in the Dana Point marina.

I've always wanted to try this place at their other location in mission viejo but just haven't got around to it since I live quite far but I'm glad hubby noticed this location as we were hiking in the area today. We stopped by for a tasting flight & a small bite. Ambiance was nice as it was situated right on the Dana point harbor. They had indoor seating & outdoor patio. We got seated fairly quickly inside by the window & the view was lovely. The price for the tasting was great! Nowadays, it's hard to find 6 tasting flights for $20! It was our lucky day today bc on Mondays, they offer 2 for 1 tastings. The wines both white & red were better than expected. They had a good mixture of both new world & old world wines. As for food, they don't have a huge menu & they ran out of the charcuterie plate so we shared the Mediterranean platter & the beef empanadas. The empanadas were delicious & it was served nice & hot. The Mediterranean platter wasn't anything special but still a pretty good snack to nibble on. For the price of the tasting & the view, it's worth a future visit whenever we are back in the area.

Met up with my cousin for a little wine tasting in a cute little town by the water. We opted for 6 red wines- we enjoyed all of them, my favorite was a Cabernet Sauvignon. We ordered a cheese tray and a flatbread pizza to pair with our flights. Our server was friendly and informative. We sat outdoors enjoying the sights and sounds and had a blast catching up. Definitely recommend Frisby Cellars.

I don't know about this place at this point. We went on a Sunday around noon, Sunday funday! At the harbor is all about sitting outside, drinking wine, enjoying good food. This place is in the old waterman's harbor which was a great place to hang out on a Sunday and eat and drink. We got there. We were literally the only people there, they had very little to serve out of the kitchen if they even had a menu, and there's no service. So you have to order at the bar. We ordered a glass of wine this used to be a great spot for hanging out on a Sunday with friends drinking and eating. I'm not sure what they're doing here

I came here on a whim last Thursday to watch the Seaside Sessions musicians at the Wharf. I thought I'd grab a glass of wine, but was enticed by their offer of 6 tastings for $20. Why not! The tasting menu was extensive, offering some whites, a rose, and a variety of reds. My personal favorites were the Cabernet Franc and their Dark Elements - a blend of Petite Syrah, Syrah, and Mourvedre. I sat outside to watch the performer, though there is ample seating space inside that looks excellent for groups. The server was very kind and friendly. It looked like she was the only one that evening, and was working to get everyone served and all food warmed! I ordered the pita and hummus platter to accompany my flight. The pita was super soft and squishy with each bite, and the hummus had great flavor. I'll be back before summer ends to catch another performer and tasting flight :)

Relaxed environment with cozy couches and bar seats. A few food options to pair with your wine tasting or bottle if you prefer. Really nice service and staff. Great place to just relax with a wine in hand by the docks.

Love this place. Highly recommend the Mourvèdre if you're looking for an excellent red! Great wine selection and even better customer service. Check out their daily deals as well. See you there :)

The place is nice, the wine is good, and the prices are reasonable. However, the service is indifferent.

Yet we must choose each step we take with utmost caution, for the footprints we leave behind are as important as the path we will follow. They're part of the same journey -- our story." ― Lori R. Lopez, Dance Of The Chupacabras What an amazing event this was! OC Meets Napa and Baja, presented by Community Health Center AltaMed, brought primarily Latino-centric restaurants and chefs in Orange County and Latino-owned wineries in Napa and Baja together in a celebration of culture. Proceeds from all the ticket sales went toward supporting the Orange County health services and programs that AltaMed spearheads in underserved communities. When I was Housing Manager for the City of Huntington Beach, I funded Alta Med through the City's CDBG program and am very knowledgable about the great services they provide especially in a country that still has an imperfect and expensive healthcare system. What was cool about this event was actually seeing, meeting and talking to the chefs/winemakers. These are the people who chose their path, who chose their own story. The passion from chefs such as Beto Ygei from 930 Sushi (excellent spicy yellowtail), Carlos Selgado of Taco Maria (wonderful scallop here), Gabbi Patrick (I think they did a scallop dish too), Rogelio Martinez of Casa Oaxaca (so excited was he about his sorbets and ice cream), and winemakers such as Alex, Oscar and Lola Llamas (best wines at event and great people too who invited us to hang out afterwards). This is the type of event that I love to attend and is only second to the San Jose Jazz Festival as favorite yelp events of this kind that I was lucky enough to get tickets from Yelp. Was disappointed in the Baja wines as there was little balance or flavor with those wines, and a lot of rustic smells and astrigent finishes. However given that when traveling the local wines always taste better when you are visiting their area (Cinque Terre was an example of this where the wines are fabulous only when you are outdoors on a patio with a great view eating a sublime pesto dish in Italy), I will visit Baja soon and visit the better wineries on their home turf ;-) Thanks again Yelp for this event! I…read morewas worried about rain but it cleared up right before the event started which led to the vendors scrambling to set up their tents. It was warm and muggy but there was plenty of food and drink for all the guests to enjoy. There were plenty of Napa and Baja wine vendors pouring wine throughout the event along with restaurants from LA, OC, and Baja. Some of my favorite food vendors were Anepalco's Cafe, Taco Maria, Gabbi's Mexican Kitchen, and Deckman's en el Mogor. Wine was definitely plentiful as was the food. There was a wine wheel that you could spin for $20, which went to the Women in Action charity and in turn you won a wine bottle valued anywhere from $40 to $80. I won an $80 bottle of wine. It was pretty awesome. There were tables for all the guests to lounge and mingle at. The event was held at Mission San Juan Capistrano which I had never visited before. We were allowed to walk around the exhibits while the Mission was closed to the public. Pretty cool. Thanks to Yelp OC for the tickets. My +1 and I had a great time.
