The wife managed to find a large screw on the freeway and get it solidy stuck into one of her tires. The neighbor texted us to tell us the tire was flat when he saw it in our driveway. I pumped the tire up and I could hear the leak, but it appeared I could get it to Holley's Tire across town. (stick with me, this is actually a review of SC Ranch Mkt, also see my review of Holley's Tire!). Holley needed the car for about an hour, so I decided to find some place to fill my belly with some good grub within walking distance. Still on my journey to find the best breakfast burrito in the San Clemente metropolitan Tri-State area, I searched Yelp for something nearby. SC Ranch Market came up and I headed out as it was a couple minute walk. The restaurant and bakery are attached to the SC Ranch Market but I am not sure if it is the same name or different. My bad for not figuring that out. Upon entering, I saw the menus hanging above the counter and there were a huge amount of choices of tasty Mexican fare. I concentrated on the breakfast burrito section to see what I wanted. While there were some interesting choices, I went with the basic breakfast burrito with sausage. The BB is eggs, cheese, beans. After ordering and paying, I headed to a table to await my tasty breakfast treat. There are several tables near the door. The tables were all dirty, so I tried to choose the least dirty one and then got some napkins to wipe off the remnants of other people's breakfasts or dinners. Kinda yucky. Finally, I was called to pick up my burrito. My extra large breakfast burrito. Dang it was heavy. I lugged the log o' burrito to my semi-clean table and the table was able to handle the heft of this brute. I was nervous. A cool thing is that they have a nice salsa bar with some great choices and other condiments. I got a couple of tubs of salsa to try them out. Spoiler alert, they were both great salsas. Got that out of the way. The burrito was large, it was hot and it was one of the best breakfast burritos in the local San Clemente area. Eggs perfectly scrambled and cooked. Tasty, tasty beans. Soft, warm, grilled (always a fav of mine) tortilla. Melty, gooey cheese to bind it all together. A five star breakfast burrito. You will not be disappointed if you get one and I highly recommend that you should. After only eating half, I was actually pretty full. That did not stop me from stuffing the rest of the tube of deliciousness down my throat. I could not stop eating it. Go to SC Ranch Market and order a breakfast burrito. It is in my top 5 in the San Clemente area. You will not be mad at me for referring you to go. Bring a moist towelette to wipe off the table and you are good. Just go. Take it out if you don't like the tables. Try all of the salsas. Oh wait, I forgot one amazing fact. IT WAS $8.99! Less than 9 bucks for a massive, delicious, breakfast burrito. Where can you find that? Where? Tell me where! Just go. Stop what you are doing and go. Please go. I'll even throw in a moist towelette... Go! Eat Well!! Have Fun!!! read more

Not saying that this place probably doesn't have amazing food I got the asada burrito and I didn't love it. The meat seemed overcooked and there just wasn't really any flavor in the burrito. i've heard good things about this place though so I'm sure this is just a one off! read more

Sadly they sold to a new owner and screwed everything up. I live nearby and it was my go to a couple times a week... quality drop 25% so I find myself going here once every two months if that. I will start with the good first. The bakery items were all delicious, Conchas were so good and the cream filling in the others were awesome! The lady that helped us was very nice and friendly. Bad California Asada burrito was gross, asada was tough and full of grizzle and the french fries were cold. Wife ordered tripas plate but after a few minutes the lady said there wasn't any tripas. She ordered the Lengua and didn't have any flavor. The pastor taco was fatty and the habanero chicken taco was bland. This is my go to spot for getting marinated meats if I want to make tacos at home. They have everything you need here- meat, tortillas, chips, salsa, toppings, chicharrones and everything is reasonably priced. The ladies working the counter are quick, and efficient. Always super nice. It's a small, tight space inside but we love this business and will continue supporting our local Mercado. read more

Christmas plans fell through and needed to buy dinner for a last minute get together, This was the only place open on the holiday. Preordered a fruit tarte for 5pm came to pick it up and it was never made. This happened last year too. I thought it was just a simple mistake last year but again same exact experience came to pick up and no one knows where it is because it was never made. This will be the last time I ever come here. Alright...hear me out...if you're in San Clemente, this is easily the best burrito in town. Their service is a bit shaky but this is a spot connected to a super market so they're usually a bit slim on employees. Regardless, the food can't be argued with. This is the real deal and I will be coming here for a long time. read more

Best Taco Tuesday around! 2 tacos for $4, and they load up the meat. They have a salsa bar with 5 different delicious options. They also offer a ton of different protein options instead of the usual 2 or 3 at other places. They also have bakery options to get a dessert. The staff is always very nice. So I found out about this store from a Ralph's employee, I was looking for pork shoulder to make Chile verde stew and Ralph's only ha 8 lb pieces so he suggested I go here. I was so happy to find pork stew meat for only $1.99 per lb and fresh produce that was super inexpensive ... the butcher was super helpful and I was in and. Out of the store so quickly .. no line. My favorite spot in all of San Clemente. A true neighborhood gem. I try to shop here every chance I get! They offer great produce and other delicious authentic goods at a very good value. There baked goods and ice cream are 10/10! The best part of this shop is the great character and community they bring to the neighborhood. When there was a city-wide power outage, and other shops were closed, SC Ranch Market went above and beyond. Even though their registers were down they helped their neighbors out! I saw one guy give out ice, and ask for nothing in return. I wanted to buy a lighter to light my stove, an employee gave me his lighter, and told me not to worry about it. Sure, these may be low-value items, but critical when the power out. it's the thought and action that counts! They could of easily price gouged, or not decidiced to help. I used to be a skeptic about shopping small, and how most of the value stays in the community after the purchase, but truly this is the case. Shop small and support the people that care! I love this place for all the prepared foods, from lunch, dinner to desserts! Tonite for Monday carnitas was a slight bummer. The deal is a pound of carnitas, rice, beans, tortillas and salsa for $15 bucks, great deal! My deal came with less that a pound by 3 once's which means, for 3-4 people, someone will not get fed. 3 ounces may not sound like a lot , however, the tortilla size is meant for a once, once an a half. A true pound would be much appreciated. That would help me gage on what to order. I hate not having enough or way to much. The group I had over are light eaters and 1/4 pound per person was enough to gage with rice and beans and the salad we had. Unfortunately, we were short on protein. read more

The meat was extremelyyyyy chewy, like my jaw got a work out. 1 person ordered the Carne Asada burrito and cut it in 1/2 to eat and didn't want the other 1/2...it went to the dog‍ The same for the person that got the Carne Asada tacos. Chewy and not appetizing at all. The other person got the Carnitas burrito and enjoyed it. So maybe it's just the Carne Asada that's not the best. Salsa they provided was good though. Finally had a chance to stop by today with my family, and we are so glad we did! We visited both the market and the prepared food side. We loved the selection of goods and fresh produce (didn't visit the butcher - but the selection was huge, so we will be back. The display cases of fresh pastries and breads was very enticing. We ended up ordering chicken quesadillas, fish tacos and a carnitas plate! The 7 yr old finished the huge chicken quesadilla (husband has declared this his now go to for chicken quesadillas too), and the 10 yr old inhaled the fish tacos! Both cashiers were very friendly and helpful when some items needed to be substituted because they were out of stock. We will definitely be back! read more
