Giving this location 2 starts is giving. It is tiny(I understand it is next to the beach) and so awkwardly laid out. The exterior is so overcrowded with things that you nearly get ran over by cars everything with have to walk around another barrier and the second entrance that comes into the produce was closed at 2pm making the only entrance at the base of the registers the way to get it. This leads to a lot of not needed crowdedness and head to head cart encounters. The aisles are way to small for anyone to shop. Two carts cannot go next to each each other and to add to the difficulty the connecting aisles between are loaded with pallets of product not being unloaded. Overall a frustrating and crowded experience that wouldn't be needed with the correct amount of cashiers and proper timing of goods in aisles read more

The service deli is violating HACCP guidelines. They leave the cold cuts our on the counter and are using a filthy slicer. There was no one at the counter with 2 employees behind the counter chatting it up. Also doesn't have Apple Pay at any of the registers, super inconvenient. What year is it?! I dig this Ralph's. I visit San Clemente as much as my schedule allows for simple rest, relaxation and of course the surf. It is nice to know when I am traveling to San Clemente instead of having to transport a cooler packed with food & drink I can just stop at this Ralph's. It is pretty sweet after an incredible surf session in the area and in desperate need of water and/or food you will find it all right here. This Ralph's is easily accessible off of both the 5 North & South and located right on the main street in San Clemente which happens to be South El Camino Real drive. This Ralph's on several of my visit was walking distance from my Motel. I was able to keep a majority of my meals healthy by knowing exactly what was in them instead of having breakfast, lunch and dinner at a local restaurant. This Ralph's has a large parking lot that is dedicated for Ralph's patrons. You will not find panhandlers in this parking lot, which I find to be a HUGE plus. I was pleasantly surprised as I was walking into this Market I witnessed an employee out in the parking lot picking up trash that could easily by caught up by the wind and find its way to the Ocean. When I visited this Ralph's I found this inside to be spotless. This location looks like it recently went through a remodeling and looks quite fancy!!! The Market not only looked clean but smelled clean including the bathrooms. There were no lines. The employees were extremely helpful. Any question I had in regards to where to find particular items I was direct to the right area. The staff all seemed to be working as a team, all had smiles on their faces and all seemed stoked to be at work. If you are looking for fancy wine and/or cheese for a party this Ralph's has got you covered. If you are a vegan this Ralph's has got you covered. If you are looking to satisfy your sweet tooth this Ralph's has definitely got you covered. Ralph's has descent selection, fresh food, reasonable prices, and a friendly staff. We came in one night looking for some precooked chicken only to find the deli guy cleaning out the bins. This Ralphs is approx. 2.5 miles from San Mateo Campground which is part of San Onofre Campground. They sell Smore Sticks for $1.50 They had everything we needed at reasonable prices. Don't forget your Ralph's card. I left mine back at camp. The manager said that since I didn't have a phone number associated with mine I would have to get a new one. Sushi department was incredibly rude!! We had a food allergy to avocado and had asked the sushi staff if they would be able to make a poke bowl with no avocado. The staff said no and then pretended like we weren't there the rest of the time. Quick run to Ralph's: limes--check, beautiful and juicy; garlic salt--check; red onion--check, sweet and not harsh; adobo seasoning...negatory, Ghost Rider. My Fred Meyer Rewards card worked at the self checkout stand for the store card discount. Sweet. May have been random luck and matching numbers with some other poor bastard's Ralph's card, but I'll take it. The lady helped us scan our "Imported from Belgium" Belgian waffle wrapped in cellophane (it didn't want to scan), so there's that. Good place. This is for the bakery section of the grocery store. The store itself is great. I just got a surprise birthday cake for my husband and I will definitely be going to a different bakery next time. Cake was showing through frosting on top, had a crack in it by the time I got home and was leaning to the side when I took it out of the box. Very embarrassing to show to all the guests I had. Pharmacy staff EXCELLENT never screw up my Rx like cvs or rite aid does and they fill a ton for me. really good/nice people working their. the managers special rack is AWESOME at first people were embarrasessed to shop off the manager special rack but now their is a crowd/line. for example half a red velvet cake for $1!!!???? everytime i visit my sister i first run by ralphs and check the manager special rack. the rest is just regular ralphs kinda pricey items. now im back in the lbc and other ralphs mangers special rack is weak and food looks like it should be on managers special. read more

This review is for the store on El Camino Real. We were so excited to get a local grocery store in this part of town. It has continually frustrated every local I know. They never have what you need. Today again I wonder why I even stop in. They do not have any laundry pre-spray. No Spray and Wash. No Shout. Nothing. REALLY? I talked to manager to confirm. Last time I went for baby back ribs. I live in San Clemente. I participate in the digital coupon program for Ralphs. Several times in this particular Ralphs, the coupons do not come off the receipt. I have to go back to the store and show my receipt and the digital coupon. This is time consuming and I should not have to make the extra trip to correct what is a problem with this particular store.. I have shopped at other Ralphs in the area, and this problem does not exist. If there is an issue, the checker corrects it immediately. The checkers here, fight with you over the issue. Terrible service!!! The only person here that is helpful, is Bob the Asst. Mgr. Where is the general manager of this store? I have never met him. I shop early morning and late afternoon. He needs to oversee his employees!! The two women managers that work in the early morning are so rude. They snap at you if you ask a question. If you have a digital coupon issue, they treat you like, how dare you question my authority. I have never been treated this way in any other Ralphs store. Only at this location. Unfortunately, I am now reluctant to shop in this store anymore. The self check out attendant and this Ralph's on 1/27/22 around 4:50pm was extremely rude! I already hate this particular Ralph's location because it is small and poorly laid out and the parking lots is the same. I went today because it was convenient and struggled to shop because it was busy and the store is entirely too small. I get to the self checkout and I'm checking my items out and it keeps saying I've place things in the bagging area that haven't been scanned. That wasn't true because I checked my order over and made sure I want unintentionally not scanning things. I'm ready to pay and it calls the attendant over. She gets there and I said I don't need help I'm not sure what the problem is. She said "well if you don't need help, should I just walk away and you can stand here all day and wait for it to correct itself." That first off is an extremely rude unwarranted comment and the tone she used was extremely hateful. I said I'm sorry I wasn't trying to be rude I was just saying that I'm not sure why it's going off when I've done everything I need to do. She said well obviously you didn't scan something. I'm going to check every item and count. Her tone and attitude made me think that she thought I was stealing something. So she checked every item and counted every item, treating me like a thieving child! I paid and went on my way but I was irritated and I left feeling disrespected and embarrassed. The checkers in this Ralph's loves to smash my food they smash up my potato chips as they slide it down the conveyor belt they leave the conveyor belt running so all my stuff smashes into itself at the end of the line the baggers are horrible they like to put bread under the milk and place other heavy objects on top of delicate items and everyone who works here is just plain rude I had no idea how good I had it at the other Ralph's I shopped the selection is also very limited here they have very few boxes of cereal to choose from no golden grahams no frosted rice crispies and other popular items and it also seems things are more expensive here they constantly face over the holes so items that they are out of don't get ordered it's just overall a very frustrating experience dealing with this Ralph's it's sad because it's the closest one to my home read more

We like really the store and the folks in it. I'd been going to alternatives (TJ's, Sprouts etc.) However, find their selection and quality comparable, better priced overall and more local. I work right down the road from Ralph's so I often come in early to grab a snack before work. The store is always clean and well stocked. The big reason I give it 5 stars though is for the cashier Norma G. Every single morning I go in there she is always smiling, sweet and helpful!
