Today's shopping trip was pretty disappointing. Two of the refrigerated items I wanted had multiple expired products still sitting on the shelf. The closest non-expired options were only good for a few more days, but I ended up buying them anyway because I needed them. I also saw some cute strawberry glasses and asked an employee who was stocking right next to them about the price. She said she didn't know and told me to take them up to the register to find out, which wasn't very helpful. Overall, the store felt kind of depressing. At checkout, the cashier (who was wearing a mask) was openly complaining about another employee not helping, while a coworker mentioned he was the only one on shift and stretched thin. I know these are all small complaints but they add up. read more

My wife went in to this store the other day. She tried to find something but she couldn't find so naturally she asked one of the workers here to see if he could help. The response she got was pretty unprofessional. He rolled his eyes and said "oh my god" he seemed very much bothered and did Not want to help her. She didn't want any trouble let alone creating a scene so she left him alone. Later she was able to get help from other worker and as she left, she saw the same guy helping other customer with a big smile on his face. Not sure what happened to his mood in a matter of 5 minutes or so... we just hope it's not related to customers' race because my wife is Hispanic and the other customer he seemed super happy to help was Caucasian. read more

I've always had decent luck with the bakery here. The Albertsons down the street as well. But I ordered a cake for my daughters 16 bday brunch this year, even took a picture in and fully explained what we wanted the cake to look like and they did not deliver this time. If you use the bakery and if you are at all particular I would write out what you want on the order sheet yourself. read more

we had made a food order for 100 people at a funeral three weeks in advance and when we went to get the food they told us they forgot our order. instead of trying to fix anything or make our order all the workers stood around looking at each other confused for way too long. due to the inconvenience they said they would deliver us the food but apparently ran out of gas on the way to the funeral which was right down the street. There was over 100 people at the reception and not any food for anyone. We had to go pick up the food. Hopefully our church will stop referring them because it sucked and added a ton of stress on a very sad day already. Employees were not very nice or helpful. It was very unprofessional. The morning of my niece's birthday party, we went to Cakemecakeyou to pick up the cake we had ordered but tragedy struck. A large golden retriever was off leash and ran into the street in front of my car. I slammed on the brakes, saving the dog but the cake perished in the accident. Cakeme was unable to help us with a replacement. I went to the bakery in the Albertson's by the high school. The young man who helped us was named Brand. He was so sweet and patient with me while I went through the stages of grief over our dead cake and he helped me find a suitable replacement. Albertsons, I am sorry but we are breaking up. We are a family of only 2 seniors and I can't shop at your store any longer. Why would I buy 4 boxes or bags of something for $1.99 (if I buy 4) or1 box of the same item for $4.99? It doesn't work for us on a limited income. I can buy the same item next door at Walmart or up the street at Target for the lower price. Also your $5.00 Friday items are now $7.00 with a limited purchase amount (if there are any of the items available at your store.). Also, you want my phone number (ok) for sale items but now I also have to clip digital coupons for other sale prices. In addition, we no longer get ads in our weekly drop off in our driveway ads. I would love to start off by saying we go to this albertons instead of the one in the other center because of how friendly the employees are. ANGEL & MICHELLE are so sweet! They Give me the small town feel from back home while we are here in San Clemente because my partner is in the military. We come just to see those two! Tonight around 7:30 we were checking out with Michelle after we had a nice convo with angel (she's so sweet)! We walk upon the manager I believe his name was Mike, (late fifty, beer gut & Blonde) completly humiliating Michelle over his own actions in front of many customers. Be lilting, name calling, and embarrassing is an understatement to what this manager did. He stormed off , came back and overheard me say to her thanks michelle you're awesome. He then proceeds to claim she's awesome and apologize to her and to us for his actions. I made it clear to him that he is a manager, he needs to stop acting like a child and this is poor management. So Albertons get these amazing employees a new manager. Bye bye to this one! Nothing but rudeness & immaturity. I give 5/5 to all employees there except this one! read more

A big THANK YOU to Jesus and Tony who work in the Wine Dept. I came in to purchase 6 bottles of a certain wine. There were only two. I asked Jesus, who was stocking the area, if there were any more available. He said there was none left, but offered to set aside a case to pick up later on the weekend. He delivered! I called the store and spoke with Tony prior picking up, just to be sure it was there. It was! Jesus and Tony were friendly, considerate, and professional, while doing a simple thing for a customer. I keep trying this store because if the location but it's run so poorly thst I will drive past it to the other Albertsons down the road. The manager is very abrasive and treats her employees poorly and the shoppers not much better.. We all have bad days but her attitude in general is just rude. Wow, where do I begin? I don't think I have ever experienced such above 5 star rating or felt compelled enough to even rate a grocery chain until now. But let me tell you, this specific Albertsons is a gem-- especially their Floral and Bakery department!!! You HAVE to go to them for all your floral or bakery needs because Jeff is phenomenal and an artist!!! I'm talking premium artistry. Every-time I request flowers from him, he just outdoes the last arrangement....and then he even does the cakes!!!! And its just out of this world!!! And he always makes you feel like he is so personally invested in your vision. Honestly, I feel so lucky to have met him and want him to design my wedding one day because he is that good! This is a great Albertsons it's next door to the high school in SC! They have a great variety of merchandise and some good produce, meats, and anything else you can find that's good. I've been coming here since they built it and have always had great products and positive experiences with the staff. There's a red box inside and they have a decent size parking lot so you can get in and out relatively quickly. Always bring coupons when you shop If you have them! A trick about Albertsons and their coupons is that they mail you a different version of the one thats in the store usually on Tuesdays it has a couple different money saving options in it!. I definitely will be back here or to the one up the street soon! Also There's a number of other great businesses in this plaza so don't forget to look around before you leave! read more

I'm sure this may have been just bad luck but when I walked in i was looking for the restroom and asked the first lady I saw at a register with nobody in the line and she looked me up and down then ignored me and dialed a phone number so I started looking for the restroom and found it. When I got inside the doors didn't even latch and would swing open in the bathroom stalls. Toilet paper wasn't even attached to the wall of was just laying on the contaminated floor. I like this Albertson's. It may be older and smaller of the two in SC, but I've always found everything I needed and the staff are always friendly and c/s oriented. If there are a lot of customers waiting in line, they are pretty good about opening up another register. The store is clean and the location is convenient. I've never had an issue with any of the meat, produce, dairy or deli items I've purchased and the pastry dept is well-stocked. Just avoid going there when SCHS gets out. The parking lot is insane during that time of day. read more

South County is a world unto itself. I always feel totally out of place in this part of So Cal. I cant quite put my finger on why, but a very nice place like this Albertsons is everything that you could want, however I just dont fit in quite right. They have great produce, meats, fresh dairy, etc. The fruits are not bruised, they are on the verge of being ripe, and they are filled with wonderful aromas. The bananas are slightly green and could be eaten immediately or after a couple of days. The produce is also unbruised and the crème de la crème. The leafy items are bug free, unwilted, and don't have black spots. They appear to get high end top tier products here. However you will usually end up paying significantly for it compared to other outlets. The quality does make up for some of the difference, but is that enough, perhaps on the fresh foods... Pro Tip: Prepackaged foods and dry goods are usually very pricey here and can be had cheaper at a place like stater brothers, target, walmart, etc. The meats are appealing and fresh as well. Make sure you buy the meats on sale. This eliminates some of the super high markups that the store has. It is also not a bad idea to purchase meat from the quick sale bin, if you can use it or freeze it immediately. This store has some other mini shops in it like many of the full service groceries in South County. A giant parking lot with multiple ingress/egresses ensures that the traffic is never more than can be handled. Great place, great quality, friendly smiling staff, but the prices are indicative of a place a bit more fancy shall we say. You definitely end up paying a premium for the environment. read more

This is the closest grocery store to my work...so I frequent here a lot on my fast lunch breaks. Normally I don't like Albertsons because the one by my house is dirty...and a friend of mine worked at an Albertsons for about 3 months and I always hear horror stories from him about this certain chain grocery store. But, this Albertson is actually decent. I usually buy their fresh produce (mainly fruit) and they are always really fresh and tasty. I have bought pre made sandwiches from this store as well, and they have always been made fresh and tasty too. The employees are friendly and are always helpful if I have a question on where something is. The store is nicely kept up and very clean. Two thumbs up for this Albertsons! read more

Long wait in line every time I come here since they removed the self check out stations. Remove those is fine, but please staff up for rush hour. I spent 3 minutes to grab groceries, and almost 15 minutes in line. Not only is this the best grocery store within a 15 mile radius of my house, but it is hands down the best Albertsons I have ever been to. Down the street from my house (less than .5 miles) I have a Stater Brothers, a Ralphs, and a Trader Joes. Though I LOVE TJ's, for non-TJ's food I will often get on the freeway, drive two exits south, and go to THIS store instead. All of the departments are very large and the selection here is amazing. there are a lot of things that I LOVE that I cannot find at the stores closest to me.....weird stuff like lean ground lamb meat and fat free ricotta cheese. The soymilk selection is great too; the only thing I wish they had more of was soy yogurt, but that seems to be improving as well. The selection here is so large that it is almost intimidating, but the store is well organized and incredibly clean all of the time. The produce selection here is large and varied, with a lot of organic options as well. Produce tastes great and is usually cheaper than the Ralphs near me. The meat and seafood departments here are excellent, and my mom even asked them once if they had any large cow bones for the dogs, and they very nicely gave her some really cheap. There is a Starbucks inside that I don't frequent anymore (sorry SB....my loyalty has gone over to Peet's and CB&TL) but when I did frequent it, the drink quality was higher than most regular Starbucks locations. In addition to ALL of that...the employees here are amazing. Incredibly professional and kind. In February, I was robbed, and the robbers took my credit cards and used them at a string of stores (including this one) in this shopping center. The management was incredibly kind and went out of their way to try to cooperate with the police to give them surveillance photos and any evidence and help they might need. When I was doing the Avon Walk For Breast Cancer a few years ago, they also let us do a fundraiser here, (a bake sale) and our biggest customers were the employees themselves! There is almost nothing that they don't have here, but if you manage to find something, they are always taking suggestions. The lot is often busy; it is in the same center as a Wal-Mart, Michaels, Lowes, and many other businesses, so don't be a parking vulture; just take the first spot you see to save yourself some headache. Even though this is not my neighborhood...I drive out of my way to make this my neighborhood store. read more
