I go to this Ralphs because it's near my home and they will do the shopping for me and bring it out to my car. Here is my GRIPE: Increasingly there are many lazy & entitled people who park their cars in the specially striped parking spots for grocery pick-up. They park, get out and go in to the store...not caring they are using the spots where people who have ordered groceries need to park (and stay in their car.) I have had to circle the parking lot until a nearby parking spot opens up. I'm getting increasingly frustrated by these dolts. I may find some form of vigilante justice for these scofflaws before long. I will have to pay a fine or maybe do some time...but I think it will be worth it! MANAGERS! Go out and enforce the parking area for grocery pick-up. Your employees who pick the orders and bring them out are VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE VIOLATIONS THAT GO ON. DON'T buy trimmed tri-tip here. You pay a bit extra for trimmed versus untrimmed, so seems like it is worth it. However, Ralph's does not trim the "trimmed" tri-tip. What they do is trim one side and then wrap it up with the full fat cap underneath. It looks like it is trimmed and you think you are getting a nicely trimmed 3.78 pound slab of meat. Perfect size for the number of people the wife and I were having over for a barbecue. Well I took out the tri-tip about an hour before I wanted to start grilling to spice it up. I was shocked when I flipped it over there was that huuuge fat cap. I went ahead and started to trim that fat off. Ten minutes later, I had 14.9 ounces of fat on the cutting board. That is almost a pound. That is 3 people's servings that I had planned for. I did not have time to go get some more meat, so we added extra sides, with items we had on hand, to make sure all had enough to eat. What a scam. The sad thing is that I have experienced this a couple times at the Ralph's on Camino Real and I made the mistake of forgetting this happened at another Ralph's. The El Camino Real location is walking distance from my house and I drive to Albertsons or Pavilions to avoid shopping at Ralph's. Don't Go. Don't buy "trimmed" tri-tip at Ralph's. Go somewhere else. Very disappointed in the customer service at this Ralphs location. My pregnant wife walked in while holding our 15 month old baby and asked to purchase a few balloons for a gathering she was hosting. When she spoke with an employee about purchasing a few balloons, the employee simply responded "nah, the balloon lady isn't here". My wife asked again if there was anybody in the store capable of filling up balloons for her and he just responded no. He made no effort to try and provide any help. How difficult is it to fill up a balloon? Can you not ask your manager and see if someone has the mental faculties to complete such a strenuous task? My wife had to load our baby up, and drive to a different store to buy balloons. Needless to say this employee does not care about the customers, or providing anything remotely close to quality service. read more

I'm leaving this review after an upsetting experience my mom had at this store. There was a promotion advertised as "Mix & Match 3, Get 3 Free" that included 18-pack Gatorade, six-pack sodas, and other Coca-Cola products. The flyer also stated that if there is a disagreement between the flyer and the register popup, the flyer takes precedence. My mom selected items clearly listed in the promotion and understood she would pay for the higher-priced items. However, the deal was not honored, and she was later told it had to be the exact same item, which was not stated on the flyer. What was most disappointing was the way the situation was handled. Instead of calmly explaining the policy, the interaction felt dismissive and uncomfortable. Even if there was confusion about the promotion, customers deserve clear communication and respect. I hope management reviews how promotions are communicated and how concerns are handled at checkout. read more

This place is ok. The employees are nice enough. They're open a bit later than most other places, which is cool, but they frequently close up before the closing time they have posted on the window, which is extremely frustrating, and sort of defeats the point. We use to shop this Ralph's all the time and then moved in to other supermarkets. Yesterday I went to this Ralph's for bakery products. The product I purchased (large Apple Cookies) were packaged with labels that didn't match the product, I.e. the ingredient label was for chocolate chip cookies. This could be a disaster for someone with allergies. I also would describe this supermarket as a "warehouse". It was not clean and neat looking like I remember and the staff were into their own conversations rather than focus on the customer. read more

How much longer is this store gonna last? Every week it becomes increasingly difficult to find regularly purchased items, the shelves are severely lacking and last night I went to the meat dept to buy a nice filet mignon and was directed to the prepacked meat area. I wanted a big one, these were all small and thinner than I like but figured I would just eat two of em. The amount of sinew in my steak was obscene...for those who don't know, sinew is a piece of tough fibrous tissue uniting muscle to bone or bone to bone; a tendon or ligament. It is NEVER present in a filet mignon so the meat dept at this Ralphs is officially horrific. Oh and the ever-smiling deli gal can't even use the slicer right, see pic. Their pricing on most items is off the hook, you get half as much for double the price compared to their competitor a block away. Sad to see but it seems likely this location is destined to close because everyone I spoke to agrees it is a shadow of its former self. Went to buy milk too and the inventory was scheduled to expire on the same day I was shopping. Looked behind it...all expiring immediately. Now that's just bad management. Then, there is Ron, the produce manager, who has worked for Ralphs for over 40 years. Just retire already. No one wants to see your unhinged attitude. This store has taken a serious nosedive! Throughout the entire store, items were set next to different tags or confusing signs. By the time we got to the register, nothing rang up at what we believed we were spending. We actually went to self-checkout, but the person who stands in the the self-checkout area is so creepy you'd be more comfortable around gang members. I kid you not! When we told him nothing was ringing up at the right prices, just like every time we go to this store, he got right in our space to bark over us--as if intimidating customers is going to fix deceptive pricing problems! We finally asked to speak with the manager, who took forever to arrive. When we told the manager that everything was mismarked and ringing up wrong, he left for an eternity then came back and said that the tags indicated different prices; yes, EXCEPT the tags were nowhere near the actual items!!! This is nothing but a classic case of FALSE ADVERTISING. When I told him that the prices there are actually higher than the prices in Whole Foods and Gelsons, he readily agreed as if he was entertained by this fact. At that point I gave up and finally said: I'll just shop at Whole Foods from now on. To which he snapped "that's not a problem." Sure... It won't be a "problem" until they shut down the entire store over horrible service and deceptive pricing tactics and he's out of a job. But whatever. Maybe they actually can put a Whole Foods in that space, where we can save $$$$ to buy quality food with decent service. I never imagined a mediocre chain like Ralph's would actually charge more than Gelsons and Whole Foods, but this place is proud to do exactly that. I should have taken photos of the tags to share. But I'll save that task for an adventurous soul who actually wants to be around the predatory self-checkout person and manager, who both looked quite proud of themselves when we walked out. read more

Today I was in a Ralph's in San Clemente and a gentleman named Stan who works for Nabisco stopped to help me find gluten-free cookies. He explained that Oreos had now made one and told me that soon there would be Chips Ahoy. I was so thankful for this gentleman's help, as well as knowing that there will be cookie options for my seven-year-old grandson who has celiac. I asked her if she could help me and she went above and beyond in this difficult time. She was compassionate, eager to help, and even helped me take the arrangements to my car. Clean and organized grocery store. It's a pretty big store and it seems to have every basic thing you would need to live. We get our rib eye and seafood here. It's so clean that there is no fishy smell. On some weekends, they have samples like they have in Costco. Most of the time, workers are nice and friendly. Occasionally, there are some workers who are rude to seniors. I overheard a cashier talk down to a senior who had trouble finding his money/card and was taking his time. Some people need to be a little bit more sensitive but most especially if they work in the service industry. The same cashier didn't even bother to greet me or look me in the eye. She could have been having a bad day (but it was only 10 am!) but work is work. Don't spread your crappy mood to other people. This place is better than many other locations when it comes to size, brands, and cleanliness. However, customer service needs a little boost. That or replace them with self check out. read more

I always love shopping at Ralph's. they are consistent at having great service and clean stores. This one, while older, is very well maintained and there is never much of a line at check out. It is always worth checking their clearance section in the back, many items up to 70% off. Prices are average, but if you shop their sales and specials you can really save money here. read more

It is Saturday August 5th at 6:47 pm and I was helped by an older man. The same all gray haired older man I've been helped by so many other times before with the exact same nasty demeanor. Only this time I was going through a lot more than usual. And you never know how just a tiny bit of kindness can go a long way. But this man never shows even a fragment of a smile. If you are seem to be inconveniencing him he doesn't seem to want to look at you or want to converse with you at all and he will sigh out at you and roll his eyes. I might just shrug off his lame nasty behavior but sometimes money troubles are can be very VERY real. And as of late grocery prices are through the rough. He seems to just be there to make a bad day worse. I don't think I've ever been into that store where he's ever made my mood feel a bit lighter or a bit happier even if I was already smiling. So I thought I'd at least get it off my chest that I sat in the parking lot letting my groceries get warm while I cried this week because that was how much it piled on top of my already shitty day. read more

Lisa, the store manager so rude and she has always been rude to me so I stopped going to this store. On recent visit i going to check out also a elderly was behind me and A loud voice comes out and says " all check stands are closed you need to go to self check out" The lady behind me stated she does know how. I said the lady behind me doesn't know how to used self checkout? very rude " a voice said I told you check stands are closed you need to go to self check out only" . this was at 830pm at night. During 2 other times I went into ralphs the same person was very rude to me. I was also ready to walk in the door and I was fixing my mask and she screamed at me, put your mask on before you come in this store and wear it right. I decided not to step in the door and left. another time I asked about corn tortillas, they were all expired and if you had some that were not expired? Lisa told me that all we got, I guess they are all expired then. she was rude to me again. I will not go into the Ralphs again and be treated so badly, What happened to customer service at ralphs? this store used to be so busy now I know why they are not busy. To be frank I think the store's overall operation & personnel is fine. But there is one employee who has given me a poor experience at least twice. Today I drove there to take my mom do her grocery shopping. Considering her disability I have to park by the door so she can get off & then situate her, go park on a parking spot and then go back to help my mom. Today I happen to bounce back the pavement as I was dropping my mom because my tire (of a light small Volkswagon GTI) slightly hit the pavement. This employee, Jennifer, whom I was at least 6 yards away from started waiving her hands in the air and showing so much ado over nothing while yelling stuff at me & while my mom, an 88 years old disabled woman, trying to get out of the car. I was super slow also as my mom has heart failure conditions and I drive very cautiously because of that. And also the obviously I was stopping to drop her off so naturally I was super slow and slowing down even more as I approached the spot. I just slightly bounced back because tire got too close to the pavement. Since I need to make sure my mom steps out safely I must get as close as possible to the pavement. You can imagine how I was very upset about this Jennifer girl's behavior. I came to the store and decided to tell the store manager. Because this was not her first time she was over reacting. Another time I was taking my cart which had some meat in it and as I was picking up some ice cream I noticed some of the water from box of meat spilled on the floor as she was passing by I asked her if she can help me get some bags to keep the meat in it but instead she acted so bitter and I cannot remember what she said but she walked away. I think it was something about her break or what not. So I went and got some napkins and wiped out the floor and backtracked my path, so no one slips and got some bags to cover the meat. She was beyond bitter i thought but I let it go until she did this right before my mom. As I was talking to the manager this Jennifer girl came in and started lying that I almost ran her over and that I drove over the pavement which is a huge lie. How can I run her over if I passed by her before stopping and broke all the laws of physics because the tire actually bounced back. I actually persuaded the manager to check the footage on the camera and find for herself. Hopefully she will and identify this lying employee. It's a shame that people that are unhelpful, untrustworthy (because of all the lies) and bitter work jobs facing customers. Ruining the reputation of a nice store like that read more

Theresa and Jennifer were amazing this morning (10/10; around 8am). Some obnoxious idiot proceeded to go off on his having to wear a mask and saying, "it's a free Country." Theresa and Jennifer remained professional and steadfast and didn't let this bully get his way. They politely told him it is for the safety of all customers and workers. I am a little irritable when my asthma is acting up and Sue Ann went above and beyond to help me get the item I need without walking to the back of the store. This Ralph's is the best. I'm a single mom of two toddlers that works full time so this is the earliest I can come to the store with both kids. They store employees are the absolute best here! They are so sweet to my kids. And so kind and patient with me and trying to control them. Taking toddlers to the grocery store is always a headache for anyone. And I purposely drive here from lake forest (there's a Ralph's 0.3 miles from my house) just because the staff is always so kind to me. The clerk with the white hair (no offense it looks amazing on you) he let my 3yr old come to his off duty register to pay for her bottle pop after mom already bought all the groceries. He taught her how to give him her product and then her money and wait for change. It was the sweetest thing any clerk has done. I've gotten a lot of mean comments from other places so I just wanted to take time to thank this team! read more

Great grocery store! I have been coming here since I was young and have always enjoyed it. Great store overall with prices and selection of food and non-food items. Great produce section - my favorite part of a store. The best part is their customer service. Overall, they consistently are helpful, friendly and knowledgable. Large parking out front, but sometimes can get crowded. Speed bumps in the parking lot to control speed which is nice too! read more

This Ralph's is okay, I've been going her regularly due to the fact that it's close to my home. They have everything I need, but the prices are a little higher than the other local grocery stores. The people who work here are not too friendly, but occasionally I will get a decent employee who is. Good deals on alcohol occasionally, I love the make your own six pack concept. Was treated super disrespectful by the worker named "LISA" did my regular shopping as I do every week. I've seen her be really mean and disrespectful to her workers but haven't said anything because that's not my place or wasn't affecting me as a customer directly... but today I walked in and I understand that we need to where marks in stores at this point in time due to our current situation however I had it throughout my whole time.. I literally just took it off for 2 seconds to use it for my iPhone ID to get in... she was quick to scream and to tell me to put it on... fair in a way but she could've gone a different way on saying it and to top it off two white females were walking around the store without a mask... seriously she's the only manager with the attitude... it should not be allowed at all... I hope her mangers or owner of the stores sees this because I am actually thinking of taking this to legal actions. Just felt wrong.. not sure if it was for the color of my skin. The cashier named Lisa C was so disrespectful and rude! I went to this store to get a pack of mikes hard lemonade and as she asked for my ID I pulled out the paper ID that I had received from the DMV as I pulled out the paper she then tells me they don't accept paper IDs which I said okay I understand however my wallet was stolen on New Year's Day and all I have is this one and my expired ID. She then tells me that she doesn't accept expired IDs either which I was expecting but then goes on saying how I need to be more responsible and not let me ID expire. I then tell her well no I didn't let it expire like I said before my license was stolen and then she goes and says well next time you should be more careful and not lose it in a very rude tone. Excuse me I'm sorry that my wallet was taken from my purse no need to be so rude about it and make me feel even worse. She was so disrespectful and rude I can't believe she still has a job in costumer service! read more
