The cashier named Lisa C was so disrespectful and rude! I went to this store to get a pack of mikes hard lemonade and as she asked for my ID I pulled out the paper ID that I had received from the DMV as I pulled out the paper she then tells me they don't accept paper IDs which I said okay I understand however my wallet was stolen on New Year's Day and all I have is this one and my expired ID. She then tells me that she doesn't accept expired IDs either which I was expecting but then goes on saying how I need to be more responsible and not let me ID expire. I then tell her well no I didn't let it expire like I said before my license was stolen and then she goes and says well next time you should be more careful and not lose it in a very rude tone. Excuse me I'm sorry that my wallet was taken from my purse no need to be so rude about it and make me feel even worse. She was so disrespectful and rude I can't believe she still has a job in costumer service! read more

bought blue cheese , lettuce tomatoes etc mad a salad put the blue cheese on smelled bad turn over the container it had expired by 5 days. drove back to the store with the recipe the lady only want to credit the blue cheese . tried to explain but she just wouldn't listen and tried to direct me to someone else. beware of spoiled food. My second home. I go there in the way to the gym. Sometimes late at night when bored. There are too many names to mention so I will talk about their friendly service oriented culture. From Michael who is on light duty and guards the door to Pete and Jim who I beg for a roster as not to forget anyone. There is Susan their Newest employee who is a go getter to Courtney and Gavin. Margarita, Debbie and Jennifer. Michell, Lisa and my secret crush Brent. There are so many inside jokes and they make me love my neighborhood. I know I sound like Miss Susie in Romper room and could go on more and more. So assume all left out names are included lest I bore you. Great job. Corporate should order them all a Pizza and give them all a special reward. Love feeling of community I get there and being expected to show up daily. Thanks guys. See you tomorrow. read more

inconsistent and needs help. the women that work there for the most part are pretty helpful and nice. the upfront men are pretty bad. only a couple are nice. some guy named david hates his job and the manager jim same thing. they dont want to help they wont help and they do not care one bit about customer service. its like they are doing you some favor to help. they dont ask for help if they cant figure it out either, which is most of the time. it really went down during covid and i would not go back for 3 years until i got a gift card for them. i had to go. it did not change much. the staff is miserable. the prices are alot higher than sprouts and trader joes on everything thats for sure. i dont like them, i dont like the store or the staff. they need to get new help and a big turn around. same people still working there same people still miserable. its awful. i hate to have to go in there. read more

This review is for the front end guy named Dean. What a horrible person. First off, I stopped shopping at the Talega Ralph's because of this arrogant, jerk. And now he's back at this store! Harsh language? No, not when someone treats my wife they way he did. My wife and I spent about $300 a month in the Talega pharmacy and another $800-1000 a month in groceries. When the pharmacy messed up on something, the mgr. on duty told my wife she was very sorry, come in and we'll give you a Ralph's gift certificate for $20. When my wife got in there, cart full of groceries, she walked up and asked for the woman she had been on the phone with. She was informed by "Dean" that he was the manager in charge now. And, he had decided that "I'm not going to do anything about your problem. I don't agree we made a mistake" My wife said "Well, you weren't even involved and the other manager offered me a $20 gift card and told me to come right over " " Well, I'm not" said Dean. My wife said, " I shop here 3x a week, I am a great customer." He said, "Well, that's too bad" She said "Are you willing to watch me walk out of the store and take $1300 a month in business with me over $20?.. I have a full cart here?" Dean stared her down and said, "Yes." We switched stores to the Camino de Los Mares store, things were fine... and now he's here! When I heard him in there, in his condescending way he talks to the women, I almost threw up. Now, I guess we're going to Albertsons. It's too bad because the rest of the employees are friendly and pretty helpful. I can't stand to look at the guy and can't stand to hear him and his BS, condescending attitude. OK- the fourth star is a stretch. But fellow San Clementian's who. like me are appalled at the prices, bafflingly limited selections and the just generally shitty experiences that await us at any of the Albertsons and Stater's, may understand. The produce section is surprisingly well-stocked and far better organic section than anyone else around and always has a few interesting items that make it into my basket. They also do a nice job of catering to the lunchables and juicebox crowd while still managing to carry truffle oil, chutneys and other goodies that usually require a trip to Bristol. The seafood/meat section is admittedly subpar, like every other seafood/meat section in SoCal save Bristol & Whole Foods. Trader Joes is right across the parking lot for my outstanding hippie cereal, soy milk and wine needs. These two pair very nicely for my weekly shops until the day SC finally claims its own Whole Foods. Addendum!!! About a month after I wrote this, I idiotically left my purse in one of the carts and drove away, only realizing this when I had completely unpacked all my groceries an hour later. After a panicked drive back to the store, I found my purse tucked safely away in the store safe. Like these guys... read more

As the saying goes, "to err is human". Yes the bakery did make a mistake and forgot to have my cake ready for my wife's 50th birthday. But dang if they didn't more than make up for it by not only jumping on it and making a new one in a moment's notice, but actually DELIVERED it to my party on time and after an hour of looking for the place! I drive out of my way to this Ralph's because of the salad bar. My pet peeve lately is that the deli staff does not stock the salad bar until after noon on some days! I used to like to pick up a fresh salad on the way to work, not possible at this Ralph's. So I adjusted my schedule to start going during the busy lunch rush - but surprise! Still not stocked! I have asked the counter staff about this, and they are nonchalant, like it's an imposition to ask them when it would be ready.... or if stocked, when they planto put out spoons and serving utensils. They seem to have an issue is keeping the containers in stock as well. after multiple attempts I've given up completely on this location. I'll stick to the one in Talega read more

The produce selection is great, and expansive. As well as the beer/wine/liquor section, which has lots of little names and variety. The meat section gets picked over pretty quickly on the weekend but the meat department employees are always popping out from behind the counter to help you pick out something, and give recipe suggestions. There are a lot of hidden gems in the different departments, like religious candles in the "Mexican" section or gnocchi in the "Italian". And the cashiers are helpful and friendly. One cashier stopped ringing to brought me a case of bottled water, even though she had a long line of customers behind me, because I had back problems and couldn't lift anything heavy. The manager here (I believe Kathy) was awesome. We were camping down the road so we needed everything for our RV to start our week of heaven. We went straight for the deli to get that wonderful Boar meats and cheese. After quite a few minutes waiting I coughed to let her know we were waiting. She turned around and didn't say anything except something in Spanish to her co worker. We were the only ones waiting. After more time passed more people started building up. She turned around and ignored us and started helping everyone else. As we were ready to walk out the amazing manager was walking by and I told her the situation. She kindly apologized and walked me back to the deli. She had the young lady take my order and as we were getting ready to leave, again the manager came out and apologized in the most kindest way. She made everything perfect. I would shop here every time I come back to this area. We come quite a bit because we own apartments down the street so we like to stay on the beach in our RVs. Here's the problem. My new Butcher tells me he always recommends a farm raised salmon (color added) over expensive, line caught , fresh salmon from Alaska. Sigh......ARE YOU KIDDING ME! I wasn't sure if this was Ralph's or some sort of second hand food store experiment. The milk is always ready to expire the next day, the bread is stale, and the produce is a $.50 cab ride away from being rotten. This is all the time, not just here and there. Seriously, the 76 gas station around the corner has fresher food. BUT the staff is awesome. I have to say that they are fast fast fast and super helpful. They have helped me find foods that are still edible. I feel bad for the produce guy I see all the time. He is so so nice, and it's not his fault that he gets sent crap fruit and veggies. And at least the checkers are always in a good mood, so that must say something about being employed at that store. So maybe the moral of the story is, work there, but don't buy your food there? One more thing, they REALLY need to turn on their outdoor lights at night. I don't really mind that the parking lot is junkie central, but at least keep your store lights out front on at night, because it gets so dark in front of the store. The junkies have a hard time doing their drugs in the dark. And it makes the parking lot creepy at night. Although, since the cops are always cruising the parking lot, I guess they makes it safe? read more

I've started shopping here more because I've had some issues with customer service and food quality at Sprouts. Everyone at Ralph's is helpful. Produce is always awesome and fresh. They have recently updated the health foods and gluten free selection, so there are definitely more options. The butcher's always been kind and gone into the "back" to get me whatever I need if it's not out front. Aside the long waits at the deli line, Ralph's is really a pleasant, non-stressful shopping experience where I now am able to get most of what I need. read more

I like the Ralphs and go there when I shop at Trader Joes. Good selection and service. However, the Ralphs center has deteriorated and has no security with transients running amok. Women and children have been chased and threatened by transients. And, the only store that seems to care is Trader Joes which has hired security to protect their patrons in their corner of the center. read more

The deli here has their own "insiders" community going. The staff waits on their friends before you, regardless of who got there first. I have experienced this many, many times. Looks like no one is Managing, or no one is Managing the Manager. I have complained to no avail. read more

The employees could be nicer. I returned some items with a receipt and the cashier seemed annoyed with me. Also, this location is KNOWN for having expired food so make sure you check your expiration dates because they don't. I've also seen molded cheese here too. They could also be better at having more things stocked so you don't have to make a separate trip elsewhere. read more
