This Mexican market is one of my favorite spots in Orange County because of the tacos. The taco selection is massive and they are so cheap for the quality. On Tuesdays and Fridays the tacos are 69 cents a piece, which is awesome. The service is normal for a small market and the place is small, but you can tell everything is super authentic. I cannot stress how much I love coming here and how much it reminds me of tacos from Mexico. The guac is also superb.

This hole in the wall market is San Clemente's little secret for burritos and tacos that will blow your mind. On Tues/Fridays they have specials where burritos are $9.99. Tacos are a steal. They have home made guacamole that you can buy , fresh ceviche, birrias, carne asada, carnitas, tri-tip, you name it, they have it. What surprised me is that they even have Julian pies here ! So , you dont have to drive all the way down to Julian, you can just grab the pies here and enjoy! I purchased one tonight, couldn't resist. I also purchased their carne asada burrito, with rice, beans, cilantro, onions, cabbage all wrapped in a flower tortilla and i was in heaven! $11.99 you could cut in half and eat for 2 meals. Its a local favorite among surfers, non-surfers, and every walk of life in San Clemente. Parking can be tricky so be mindful of the 20min parking spots. I love their mexican soft drinks and its just pure bliss! 10/10!!

Visiting my brother in San Clemente and he told me about this spot I have to try. Boy am I Lucky to have found out about Primo Foods! I went today during a taco Tuesday. The line, out the door. The price per taco, 69 cents. The experience, epic. The food, some of the best out there. Primo foods, is a spot all about great prices and even better food. I'd recommend you try everything and then figure out what your go to order will be when you undoubtedly come back for more

69 cent tacos of tuesdays and fridays, 99 cent tacos every other day. Hella fire samples, ceviche-fire, elote-fire, brisket-fire. Tacos hella fire, burritos hella fire. Went on a Friday so the line was hella long (duh) and when you leave you just see hella people at the park eating their tacos. It is a vibe. Love you primos

It's been over a year since I've been back to Primo (I used to work a full time job and by the time it was Tuesday or Friday Tacos, I wouldn't be able to make it in time) But now, things has changed, I now work near by and get off early and finally get that sweet deal of .69 cents per tacos. Yes, you read that correctly. Your eyes are NOT playing games with you, sorry Loki. This is real. As you can see per the picture I've taken, a very sweet deal and especially in this economy. They didn't have Al pastor when I got there at 10:50AM, I know it's early in the day but no lines which is a plus, sometimes if you come later in the day, that line goes out the door. Ordered 20 tacos, 10 carne asada and 10 birria tacos, everything on it and a bag of fried pork skin total came around $21. $14 for the tacos and $7 for the bag of pork skin. Not too shabby, they do ask if you want a bag, its 10 cents so be aware, I had to get one since I got a lot of tacos but definitely bringing my own bags next time. Will I come back? Absolutely freaking yes! They have desserts too and even have Juliene pie too! These tacos looks small but let me tell you something, the lady that were making the tacos, she PACKED those tacos up! Best to say, one of the best tacos around San Clemente if you don't want to drive all the way to Santa Ana or San Diego. (They do have other locations in SD)

Thanks to reviews here I gave this place a chance. After seeing a line I was about to turn around until I read the review that explained that taco Tuesdays and Fridays are $.69 tacos all day. Well worth the wait. Pollo, carne asada, el pastor, carnitas on two soft mini corn tortillas with limon cilantro and onions. We ordered 23 for 3 of us and some aguas frescas. The place is a bodega, no tables, so as you walk in they have a it look like a liquor store then a nice little sample bar as you wait in line to try a variety of ceviche then you pass an impressive assortment of beverages and snacks then at the back is where the magic is. A huge counter for tacos and smoked meats. There are locations in San Clemente a short walk across the bridge from Calafia State Campground and locations in Vista and Carlsbad. This place is

May 9th, 2025 I have had their tacos a few times now and have had no issues, but today as I took my FIRST bite, I felt something off. Turns out I had a piece of PLASTIC in my taco. Inspect your food people!

This plate holds 6 street tacos - carne asada, pollo asada and carnival (2 of each) and less than $5 on Tuesdays!

This place is the home of 69 cent tacos on Tuesdays! And being within walking distance from San Clemente State Beach, this is a must go to place on any Tuesday!!! Meats offered include: carne asada, pollo asada, birria, fish, lengua, chicharron, cabeza, carnitas, vegetarian, and a few others. They have freshly made corn tortillas that are tender and oh so tasty. They use 2 per taco and fill with enough meats/filling that one can easily take apart and end up with two tacos! Each serving is offered with cilantro, onions, limes and salsa. Be ready for standing in line to place your order though....come early like at 3 pm to avoid the long lines.....sometimes out the door, and down the street! Definitely a place to stop and be HUNGRY!!! Service is quick and the line moves quickly. Samples for various ceviche is available at the door and often times they offer samples of meats....the tri tip is AMAZINGLY tender and the BBQ sauce is tasty! Just a little hole in the wall on the corner so drive by carefully or you'll miss it if you don't see a line lol. Soooo yummy!

I found out about this place on TikTok and was in luck because I was in town on a Tuesday. They have a taco Tuesday special where all tacos are only $0.69. The line was out the door when I visited, and I waited a total of 45 minutes. You wait in line, place your order at the counter in the back, and pay up front. I ordered 8 Carne Asada tacos, 4 Al Pastor, tacos, and 4 Birria tacos. You simply can't beat the price, but the saying remains true - you get what you pay for. These tacos are three star at best. They come with a double corn tortilla, your choice of meat, cilantro, and onions, the only sauce available is a green salsa verde. My favorite was the Carne Asada tacos as they were the most juicy. The Birria tacos were dry AF and the Al Pastor tacos were mushy in texture and also salty AF. This place also serves BBQ and the gentleman working behind the BBQ meat counter were serving samples of the BBQ meats for those waiting in line, which I thought was a nice touch. There was a park down the street with plenty of parking spaces, so I just parked there and walked over.

I am visiting San Clemente from the east coast and stumbled upon this small corner grocery store during my run. I decided to get tacos (even though I came in for water) and omg no regrets, the tacos were incredible, I got el pastor, chorizo and chicken tacos and there were all delicious. The combination with the onions, cilantro and sauce was stunning and just like I picture my tacos considering we are in California. The prices are super cheap and this makes the perfect affordable lunch. Stop by here and support this business!

They have amazing tacos! On Tuesday and Wednesday they do 69 cent tacos. They're a little small but worth buying a lot the flavor is great. There's usually a line out the door so if you order 40 or more you can order ahead. This shop in general has a lot to offer i definitely recommend supporting this business

Near the ocean. A perfect place to stop before for a picnic or after a swim. The perfect tacos are so close!

Shrimp Taquito-amazing, tasty shrimp with nice spices and garnish, pinto beans well pureed and good. Mexican street corn-pretty good, a little heavy on the mayo. Food was good and solid, but not a WOW! There is better Mexican out there around here for the same or lesser prices, so don't go here for the value, go for the ambience and if you like drinks and/or expensive tequilas, they've got plenty of those too. Desserts were very generous, flan with caramel and candied pecans was delicious, creamy, firm, not flabby like some flans can be. Churros-rolled into a circle and fried, served with vanilla ice cream, caramel, candied pecans too. Desserts were the best part of the meal. I enjoyed eating here, once. Twice, I won't.

First of all, killer deal for a large B&C burrito for $7.75. For 2026, post biden-flation era food, that's pretty damn good. Super friendly order person and staff. Ordered the bean and cheese burrito, Diet Coke and chips/salsa. Total about $13. Decent pricing. Chips were fresh, a little warm and nicely crispy. Good start. I asked for green salsa and it was delicious. Nice. The burrito was of good length and girth and it was a heavy one. At first it was still too hot to handle, so I let it cool down before chowing on it. At the first bite I knew it was good with soft tortillas and just a hint of beans/cheese. After the second bite with a bit more delish refried beans and oooey, gooey cheese I knew it was a great B&C burrito. Usually I eat 1/2 of good size burrito, but could not stop eating this one. This is one of the best B&C burritos in the San Clemente Tri-State Metropolitan Area. I will be coming back. I always try a bean and cheese burrito as my first choice when trying a new (for me) Mexican restaurant for lunch or dinner. This was actually my second time, but last time was for the breakfast burrito only. I highly recommend Rico's for a bean and cheese burrito. While I should try another burrito next time, it will be hard to stray away from their B&C!! My buddy loved his carnitas burrito, again. Go! Eat Well!! HAVE FUN!!!

Ten minutes after we left, when we were going to the game room, the waiter approached our group and made a big embarrassing scene in the lobby, demanding to know what was wrong with his service, asking why the tip wasn't 18 to 20 percent like the receipt indicated, and saying things like "I just want to know." He was very aggressive, very confrontational and highly unprofessional. And he handled the situation loudly, publicly, and unprofessionally and scared our children with his rude, aggressive way of speaking. If management wants to speak to him, he had dark brown hair shaved underneath and longer on top, brown eyes, and had a safety pin styled earring in his ear. He was fine during the dinner and we didn't observe any rude behavior and left happy and impressed with the restaurant but aggressively chasing older guests down in front of family, young kids, and other hotel patrons is beyond inappropriate and should be looked into by management.

I have been jonesing for a good bean and cheese burrito for some time now. Over that time I have been very disappointed in the B&C burritos I have come upon. Some even from my trustworthy B&C places. This was my first B&C burrito from Chela's and was looking forward to their version. At the last minute, without warning, planning or any notice I ordered my bean and cheese burrito wet. I was feeling kinda wild! Also, I asked for some chips and salsa in the side. When it was rung up, the cost was quite high and it made me step back. So I did question the charge. I didn't realize that when I ordered chips and salsa the guy thought I meant another full order of large bag of chips and a pint of salsa, not the little bag and little cup you get with your order. A nice gal helped fix that and the order cost looked much more reasonable. Whew! Financial crisis averted. I sat down after getting my Diet Pepsi (won't hold it against them that they don't have Diet Coke). Soon after, I was brought a small bag of chips and some salsas. Get the chipotle and you will not be disappointed. Shortly after that my plate with a HUGE bean and cheese burrito with lots of sauce, cheese and a drizzle of sour cream. Check the pic out, it's a beauty. The taste did not disappoint. Great beans, ooey, gooey cheese inside and out. The wet sauce was great. I thought it would be a verde sauce, but it was red. Next time I will see if they have a verde version for me to try. Just a really great B&C wet burrito. Delicious. With the chips, I only ate half the massive burrito and am already looking forward to lunch tomorrow to eat the other half. I don't give out 5 stars to many places. They have to blow me away with food, service, consistency, on and on. Chelas is an order at the counter and they bring it to you kind of place. The people taking orders and bringing food are quite nice and always willing to see if you need anything. The food has been consistently very good. All wrapped up, it's one of my favorite places around. Great job.

Our server was Amber and the best server, it was our first time here and she made sure we were served well in the patio area. First thing we ordered was margaritas and I had to get the mango for I wanna say a dollar or two dollar more from the Happy Hour prices which was fine because I love a good mango margarita. Worth the price and it was goooddd. strong but good flavor and that tajin rim. We got a couple of appetizer, chips and salsa was included when we sat down but we wnated more food. It's a girls much needed debriefing time on our life and this place was it, Such a vibe, great food and great company, plus it wasn't too much when we got there. Definitely coming back here in the next few weeks, and since I'm working locally now, I might have to stop by for a marg or two after work.

We went to San Clemente's Franco's Famous Cocktail Bar as a group of 7 on a Friday night. We sat…read moreoutside on the petite patio which backs up to the main road. We are a fun but not wild group that loves our Mexican food and margaritas and had a nice night The footprint for the restaurant is very small inside and out. Patio seating does have lamps and is dog friendly. There is bar seating inside as well. The food is decent for Mexican food. It ranges from street tacos to some fun jalapeño poppers and various enchiladas and such. Salsa is red and tasty and chips are fresh. Margaritas are well-made and there is a good drinks menu at pretty standard $20 and under dollar prices. Service was polite, and we asked at the beginning of the meal to split the check because one of our friends is being cautious about funds and it was not a problem since we asked at the beginning of the meal. Prices sit restaurant level for this area, which means dinner for two with two margaritas each is $100. As per all main San Clemente, parking is extremely limited and usually not directly in the attached lot. Bathrooms are also part of a plaza system so much more shared and informal. This is a fun little spot and we will probably be back again.
