Great place near the beach. The only reason it's not 5 stars is parking is terrible. We were greeted with a smile and service was quick. They have indoor and outdoor seating. A variety of cold and hot sandwiches as for drinks you can do soft drink or get yourself a cold draft they had cider and beers available. As for food, we ordered the Surfin Bird. Got a Malibu pastrami sandwich without the Italian sauce (the Italian sauce is quite salty if you're sensitive to high sodium). The ingredients were fresh; however, the sandwich size was on the small side with not a lot of pastrami for the $16 price. We are used to LA Deli pastrami sandwiches, which are quite robust with their ingredients. It's perhaps enough for one person but if you're sharing like we did (usually deli sandwiches are large and filling so we buy one to share). Today we were both hungry after eating the halves. I'm always walking by Evan's restaurant going somewhere else, but yesterday on Easter my son and I decided to give his Beach Hut Deli a try. It was amazing! And affordable. We ate here because it was a zoo trying to find parking at Salt Creek Beach on a weekend holiday, even though I have a pass. Beach Hut has free parking but only if you do not use it as a way to go to the beach, it's for customers only, and they have a guard watching the parking lot. Beach Hut also had patio tables available yesterday. The tables are shaped like surfboards and the food is served on parchment - on colorful plastic Frisbees - which is very cute! Hopefully they won't be taken home by customers. I asked my son to take a photo of me with Evan to show how handsome he is. He is a super nice guy as well which doesn't always happen if someone is super good looking like Evan. He is even more gorgeous in person than in this photo. But whoever is in the kitchen is doing a fine job! They remembered all our special requests. Ladies, by the way, Evan is MARRIED! Evan and I worked together at Trader Joe's for a short time. Overpriced sandwiches that are not worth paying for. A large gourmet sandwich is over twenty something dollars. Total for two 9" sandwiches and one 6" sandwich was around $60 with tax. The sign said gourmet sandwiches but it's basically typical store deli meats with mustard and mayonnaise, no special sauce or even quality meats. Just ordinary and plain sandwiches that anyone can easily make at home. Bread was thick, chewy and tough. The sandwich is pretty much all bread. You're better off eating at Board N' Brew for cheaper cost with more deli meat. Service was lackluster. The cashier guy must be new because he didn't know how to use the ordering machine and a long line started gathering. He also forgot one of the sandwiches I ordered and I had to get back in line to tell them about it so they could make it.
