Came here Wed night, the whole family was craving Pedro's. Got our usual giant sack of bean burritos, carne asada taco, combo burrito, and shrimp burrito. Everything was so delicious. That was the best shrimp burrito yet, so stuffed full of delicious rice and pico and sauce. And the shrimp. OMG. So plump and juicy. The bean burritos were fire as usual, we always get extra for later, they reheat so well, and we don't live close. Kids and husband loved their carne asada. Shoutout to the kids working! Absolutely great customer service. We could tell they were having fun, everyone was super happy, and we enjoyed the music they were playing too. I've been going here since I was a kid, and it's a staple and a classic for a reason. Thanks guys for another epic visit, see you soon! read more

These tacos!! Wow. I have never had a rolled taco before and this set the bar extremely high. Super flavorful with the perfect amount of crunch! It was reasonably priced and the perfect portion size. The guac was incredible and so yummy. There is a walk up window where you can order or there is a drive thru. 10/10 recommend. read more

Besides the food being mediocre at best, if you buy to go and then retrieve a prescription from the CVS right there, THEY HAVE YOUR CAR TOWED even though it says "1 Hr. Pedro's parking". I plan to sue them for the $400+ charge to get my car back. NEVER AGAIN. Disgusting scumbags. read more

Pedro's tacos had an inviting walk-up/ drive in atmosphere. The service was okay. The cashier seemed a bit distracted, making communication a little challenging, even though I was just ordering the Taco Tuesday special Food was OK. Very crispy hard shell tacos dressed with shredded cheese, lettuce and shredded beef or chicken. The tacos were well seasoned but overcooked. The shells themselves were very hard. I purchased a cheese quesadilla only to be given a pretty empty tortilla with a sprinkle of cheese. I would rather you give me a small tortilla and actually spread the cheese out. Better than a big tortilla practically empty!!! they also don't take cash. read more

My favorite taco stand! On Fridays I treat myself to some rolled tacos and drive to the beach around the corner.Always delicious!

This is the second time that I've gone through the drive-thru and there is something missing from our order. It's frustrating because the food is not cheap. They need to be better at making sure the order is correct. read more

I'm giving a 5 star review because their food is really good... BUT, tonight I ordered 2 potato tacos and asked the kid taking my order that I wanted the salsa on the side because I wasn't sure my wife would want it on the tacos. He said there would be an extra charge, and I thought it was possibly a small fee for the cup or something. Nope! They charged me a $1.99! I didn't ask for EXTRA salsa, rather just for what was going to go on the tacos, to go on the side! This is a terrible practice, and ya'll need to modify that charge, or eliminate it all together. Stupid! If I go back, and I will, and I ask for it on the side AND you charge me another $1.99, the next review will be much lower. Stopped by to grab a bite to eat after thrift shopping & Pedro's fish tacos was the SPOT! It's an outside/ walk up order & also have drive through! There's no inside & a bench outside to eat or wait for your food. I don't eat pork & the beans & rice are both cooked in lard, FYI! I saw a promotion for Taco Tuesday $2 tacos The ambiance around is nice as there are things to do around & the restaurant is in a great spot Now for the food! Famous Fish Taco 8/10: I wish they came in more! They only sell one taco for almost $6 which personally is quite pricey. Many of their tacos are priced this way. But it was delicious! $16 for the smallest burrito you have ever seen. I get things are expensive but there's literally nothing that justifies a $16 burrito that practically fits in the palm of my hand. You're much better off going to albertacos. Their burritos are the same price and are the size of a small child. Don't even waste your time here. read more

How the great have fallen. I've lived in SC for 30+ years. Pedro's used to be inexpensive, good, and gave you plenty of salsa. Lately, there is so much competition and instead of staying the same Pedro's has actually gotten worse over time. Since then, they changed the potato's that go in their burritos, they make you fight them for salsa packets, the quality of their beans and food quality has gone down significantly, and their prices have gone up. Pedro's used to be a San Clemente staple and now it's honestly just another bad fast food choice. Their service is hard to defend because it's a constant rotating cast of teenagers. Their ambiance was non existent because it's drive thru. What made Pedro's special was its food and over the years it's gotten progressively worse in every single way. I cannot recommend going there for any reason with so much better Mexican food within 2 miles at equal price or even less in some cases. read more

I agree with the current three-star rating for this place. After a five-hour visit to the DMV, I was starving and excited to finally go to Pedro's Tacos since it was just six minutes away. I ordered a California burrito, which was priced at $15.99 as of April 2025, and my total came out to around $17 and some change. At first bite, the flavor was promising--but by the second, third, and fourth bites, the overwhelming saltiness took over. I couldn't even finish the burrito. I originally thought it came with fries based on the menu, but I didn't find any. It was mostly just meat on meat, and toward the end, I discovered some hash browns, which felt random and out of place. I left disappointed. I've visited this location a couple of times in the past and genuinely enjoyed the food, but this experience was a letdown. The quality has really declined--it feels like salt has taken the place of flavor. While the drive-thru was convenient and service was fast, the burrito felt overpriced for its size and quality. Sadly, this was my second unsatisfying visit, and I likely won't be returning. Just a heads-up if you're thinking of giving it a try. read more

This place used to save me when I was young hungry and broke. Now the quality is worse and the prices far from match what you get from this taco stand. Every food item is smaller, lower in quality and has at least doubled in price since I first started going here in the 90's. Menu prices simply are not consistent with the type of place Pedro's is supposed to be...no frills, filling, affordable after surf food is not what it is anymore. Sad times we live in. read more

Pedro's is a favorite. I always order the rolled tacos. They put a pile of guacamole on top! I also really enjoy their breakfast burritos. Service is what you'd expect from a drive thru. I love that the environment/design hasn't changed much over all these years. read more

My friend was raving about Pedro's tacos and how the only locations were in San Clemente and San Diego. Since we were in the area it made sense that we tried it since he spoke so highly of it. We also picked up munchies for our friends. This location is like a small minimal kitchen with a drive thru and a window. The drive thru line was backed up into the street. Service could have been friendlier but I don't expect much from fast food establishments. As a group order, we got 3 Fish Tacos ($4.89/each), 1 Grilled Chicken Quesadilla ($8.69), 1 Chips ($2.69), 1 Salsa ($1.50), 1 Potato Taco ($4.59) and an order of the Rolled Tacos ($5.27) which is basically three taquitos. The order took a long time to complete and we were standing awkwardly around in the heat. There was no good spot to sit down while we waited, and definitely no spot to eat your food here. The area is way too sketchy and questionable to squat down at the curve and eat your food. As soon as the food order was ready we walked back to meet up with our friends. It was about 10 minutes... so not even that long... These foil wrapped items were already soggy and not that appetizing. I'm low key shaking my head at the friend who recommended it. The worst was probably the quesadilla where the quesadilla wasn't cut or anything, it looked like a malformed burrito. The fish taco and potato taco had fried ingredients that got mushy. Based on how the establishment is set up and the way they package their food, there was no way I can eat it any faster. I don't even think the tasty was that good to make up for the soggy texture. I definitely wouldn't care to come back. I am definitely not recommending this spot to anyone. Hard pass. read more

My better half was very familiar with this San Clemente gem but never took me.... 20 years later we were able and brought our local clients and friends along. We ordered 3 fish tacos and 3 rolled tacos which made quite a meal for the two of us and the total was just over 23 Bucks..... not bad for a decent meal for two in 2024. Service quick and complete so no complaints.... only bummer is that the only area nearby to enjoy the food is the circular bench in front of the joint.... there's nothing in the back and everything else is parking lots... oh well, very decent food for a fair amount. Recommended but take-out is probably the better choice. read more

Very pricy, and the food is just alright. When I first started going here after surf sessions years ago, it was a cheap place to get a nice, dense burrito. Now, it is may be the last place I would go when looking for a burrito. Service is not great either, and it does not take cash. Their sign reads worlds best taco so while in town we had to give it a try. Not sure who gave them this title but we were very disappointed. Paid over $6 for 1 fish taco and the tortilla was very tough, the fish in it could have been from a box in frozen food section at grocery store, there was nothing great, overpriced and not worth it at all. read more
