So today, I had been sitting in traffic for over two hours. I was craving the chicken strips. So i stopped at the deli. Harrison who works there was just about to go on break when he asked me if I had been helped. I had been standing there quite awhile the other two were helping people. Not long ago this was a new store and all was well. Since it had to compete w/ Ralph's and their response to other's; this Albertson's was spruced up. And their staff seems to be more alert than ever. Not to take anything away from the friendly people down the road reppin' the other Albertson's across from S.C. high, but; the management at the spruced-up spot are doin' things. They may not be playing host to radio-stations and parking lot roller-coaster's, but that's just because the parking-lots is ALWAYS packed. Maybe it's because of the Starbucks, or the Bank, or the deli. Oh - hold-up - it's the Pharmacy. I should've known. ;) Don't forget your dry-ice! read more

Was very disappointed in the customer service at the pharmacy at Savon Albertsons at 804 Avenida Pico. We usually go to the one by Talega which has amazing customer service, but doctor called prescription into the wrong Savon. I am extra patient with the current times, but the pharmacist Ginny Ma was so horrible. I am actually hesitant to take the prescription the threw together. Caution-do not go to this pharmacy, and especially steer clear of Ginny Ma. read more

This is the best store around. Very efficient. Mike is an awesome manager and the entire team treats you like family. Never have to wait long at checkout and shelves are stocked. I find other stores to be either very impersonal or the opposite- overly chatty and relaxed as if you have all the time in the world for your grocery shopping. read more

Stopped shopping here. Employees are rude, not helpful and seem over their jobs. No one smiles, even management seems uninterested in their job. I live 1/2 mile from this store but gladly drive to Ralph's on el Camino real. You are greeted with a smile, every employee speaks to you and they are very helpful. There are happy to unload your cart at the register, help you load your groceries into your car and retrieve your cart. read more

Horrible cashier service. Sooo slow. I go there before I pick up my child and I love the Starbucks.Ron is a horrible cashier. Yelled at the guest ahead of me for not putting a divider on the belt. Said he did not know whos items were whos? Well Ron you could have asked. But you didnt greet the customer. Maybe he would have told you? I worked in a competing market. I know the public can be rough. No excuse for checkers behavior. We do not work for the cashiers the cashiers work for us. If you dont like it Ron go cut the produce and get off the front end. Horrible management, the checkout service is constantly understaffed and over pressured. Cashiers are great-- managers awful. 3 baggers who are not authorized to use register- 1 cashier-- manager hiding in office, blamed a no show employee. I stood in line 14 minutes to checkout at 845 on Sat morning. Same thing happened past week at 730 at night. Chronic lack of consideration by management. I praise the cashiers, management should be fired, but I think it is a way to increase profit. It is worth the drive to Ralphs on S El Camino , you will be checked out and done with shopping in less time( including drive time) read more

If you ever want to spend the entire day in San Clemente, just go and buy something at this Albertsons. They seem to be allergic to opening checkout lines and let lines pile up. They don't seem to ever want to open the express lanes either. It's really run poorly. The one up near all the rich people in Talega is run a lot better. They really focus on getting you rung up and out the door. This one is a nightmare for customer service. read more

This entire store apparently has a problem with methane gas or something because the entire store smells unbearable.

I really don't like Albertsons at all. I'm not a California native so I'll admit the sticker shock got the better of me for a little bit, but even then this place is still way over-priced and there isn't any savers' card that you can get discounts from- when I asked they tried to feed me a line about how they're already doing that sort of thing. I think not. Almost every grocery store in the area is cheaper. There was a female hispanic staff member who was very polite to me (a white woman) and then as her eyes moved from me to my boyfriend (hispanic man) the look over her face was...wow. I don't know if this is normal for hispanic people (my boyfriend was actually born in Central America not in North America but there was no way she could have known that!!), but I was shocked that she could be so cold and frankly rude. It was pretty obvious the contempt she held for non-white people. Just because he's not white doesn't mean he doesn't have money or deserve equal respect as a person and as a paying customer. However I'm sure this isn't an Albertson's problem, and I probably should have said something to the store manager, but I suppose it's too late now. I shop at this store more than the rest. Staff is friendly and always help when I need it. It is the closest to my home & a lot friendlier than the Ralph's in Talega. They are always willing to help you and ask if you need assistance to find something. They also seem genuinely happy to see me and ask how I am every time I go in. read more

I think this is a great neighborhood market, with plenty of organic produce, a bakery, deli and pharmacy. It has management that is responsive to getting or re-establishing products that are important for you. Mike Cohen, the manager, is always busy making sure everything is running smoothly, even opening and operating an extra register if it gets too busy. Michele, just one of the very efficient checkers, always treats you like a valued customer and is very personable. John, who keeps the refrigerated areas stocked, also could not be more pleasant or helpful. Casey, one of the produce department overseers, will go out of his way to ensure you get what you need and are pleased with the produce. This is truly what a neighborhood market should be, staffed by people who care about your experience, are professional in the pride they have for their job, and do what they can to keep you happy. And the reason I know all of these people by name is because I have shopped here regularly for years. read more

I had a great bakery experience ending with a delicious cake. Angelina was patient, kind and helpful in assisting me choose a birthday cake. She personally decorated it beyond my expectations. GREAT Albertson's with GREAT service! Once I couldn't find something and the lady came and helped me find exactly what I needed instead of just giving me the aisle number. This is specifically commentary on one of the managers there. I literally shop here every day. I accidentally left my purse at home and ran in with some cash. I got to the checkout and was a few cents and I mean a few cents. The manager harped on it while there was a line behind me and I told him I would run out to my car but noooo. He wouldn't let me leave. Graciously the lady behind me stepped in with the 14 cents. This was bad customer service, I spend money here every day and it was rude and unnecessary.
