This was my first time at Pavillions and it didn't disappoint. My friend and I were planning to eat out somewhere, but the sushi on display looked so good that we ended up eating that instead. I got the Spicy California Roll. It was filling and just a little bit spicy. I wish they gave me more ginger or an opportunity to buy more but its okay. They have a great selection of obscure brands including my favorite, Alpine Nelsons IPA. My favorite part of coming here though is perusing the locked display cases of rare and expensive spirits and wines. When I'm in town on vacation we always come to this location for groceries shopping. Staff have always been very friendly and helpful. The store always appears cleaned and organized. The only complaint is when calling. I called in to find out something at the bakery and got to meat department, then transferred to another extension to ended at meat department. You need to check that the extension are not missed up. read more

I felt really bad posting the 1 star, and the next time I was at Pavilions I needed help correcting chips that rang up incorrectly, I was able to speak with a manager about what happened with the not nice deli staff. The manager apologized and empathized that there's a complaint about the same worker at least every week. There's not much recourse through the union rules that would result in any immediate change. I'm glad I was heard, that there are people who care, and to know there are other customers who were equally perturbed by the unacceptable customer service. Like anything or anywhere else, you just never know what you'll get. I sincerely hope that worker finds a job that makes her happier. read more

These past two times Rhonda has been very hostile and today she really tried it, when she asked us what we were laughing at and questioned whether we were making fun of her. The Laguna Beach Pavilions is my neighborhood market. I have been shopping there ever since it opened many years ago. This is the first review I have written about the market. It was inspired by the excellent service I receive from NICK ZARAGOZA, the Service Operations Manager. When Nick is supervising the store it runs very well and my experience is pleasant. He is consistently upbeat, gracious, and helpful. Worst Muzak ever makes for a poor shopping experience. Can't think straight because the vocals are blaring through. They pay a music l service and in the end the shopper pays for it. If you shop Trader Joes or Bristol Farms you notice the music sounds good and isn't dominating your concentration. Here at Pavilions Laguna you are subjected to really bad pop and it's at a level just above acceptable...enough to make me angry. read more

This review is for bakery department and Susan (head of spirit/liquor department). The staff at this bakery department are amazing!!! For a few years now I have been ordering my kids cakes and treats I bring to family/friends gatherings. Every time I call a special order, the person on the other end take their time to listen to my requests. The best and most important part; all the bake goods are fresh and delicious. I tend to pre order their large fruit tart to either bring or serve and everyone raves about how beautiful and delicious it is. Also for holidays, I stop in and buy their small cakes and pies to gift to neighbors and for my family. And they are always a hit!! Susan, the head of the spirit/liquor department is awesome. Very knowledgeable and helpful. She also brings in some pretty good - hard to find whiskey/bourbon. I know this is not high end bakery or a boutique store. But they're doing a great job and should be recognized in this platform as well. read more

So,.... Apparently basic safety and food safety standards are utterly ignored here. A guest brought in their husky dog into the store. No one did anything. The dog urinated all over the floor. Still the staff and manager do not have the pet owner leave. Then the dog,....... (Pooped) This doesn't include the damaged and broken products left smashed around the store from the dog hitting a display. Dog poo and piss on the floor and the store manager is either prohibited from enforcement of safety protocols or they are too hard to enforce- or the Safeway/Albertsons/Vons brand is not supporting its staff. Lol. Really. When you are letting stranger's dogs tinkle and poo on your floor - what are we supposed think? Let's go buy $600 bottle of KRUG champagne and a some $38 dollars a pound Parma from that store? UPDATE: Dear Dawn, I we do not need to address this with anyone. People bringing their pets into a store - has become a common problem. It's not your fault customers have this problem. I used to shop at the pavilions over at Aliso Viejo - over by the Walmart - I was so excited when it changed. You had a new meat market with wonderful Parma meat! But no one would cut it or there was no staff in the area to help. I know it's a minor issue - but we used to try to shop there and it got to be to much of a total waste of time because I could not find staff to assist to buy product and we just stopped going due to that and people and pets in grocery carts going around the store. I have a dog. It's a medically certified support animal and a trained service dog and even I don't bring them into a grocery store. I know it's a hard call but someone has to start taking a serious stand with customers who do this. I WILL NEVER want to buy groceries of any type if it's around peoples pets,.... I know it's a difficult thing to do,.... And customers are very difficult,.... But the issue has only gotten worse as more people feel entitled to do anything they please. I hope you are able to help management and offer support to help address unsanitary and food safety issues - especially as it deals with and addresses problem customers. Puuuuuulease just pop an update here so I can adjust the review to add stars and delete the above. I do not always review my 1 star adventures. Pets around food in stores and restaurants is my biggie. This review is for the premade foods. Whoever made these is a great chef. I got the ribs and the ham and turkey boar's head sandwiches. Ribs were sooo good they tasted like they're made at a bbq restaurant. Sandwiches were good as well especially with the rye bread and with the mayonnaise and mustard packages. I was very pleasantly surprised with the food quality at this pavilion. Hope the food here is consistently this good. Kudos to this place. Keep up the great work! read more

Wow I am so disappointed and disgusted in the behavior of a couple of the employees at the location. I came here yesterday for the first time to fulfill a DoorDash order, and I will certainly never be back. My local pavilions is great, but the two women working in the deli section on January 11th at 1pm need to be fired. I had two sandwich orders to place and was treated so rudely and disrespectfully I couldn't believe what was happening. I showed one of them the sandwich order on the app and she said she doesn't know what that means and I need to show her the correct order. I said I'm sorry for the confusion but this is what I was given to order, no other instructions. She then spoke to me very condescendingly as if I am slow, rudely saying you need to scroll honey. I said mam, there is nothing to scroll this is the entire thing. She scoffs at me as if this is my fault and keeps berating me as if I don't know how to do my job. The coworker was encouraging her and staring at me which made me even more uncomfortable. It is not my fault if the order is vague, I did not place the order so I do not know the specifications either. There is absolutely no need for employees to be blatantly rude to customers, I am disgusted with the behavior of these two woman. When she was handing me my sandwich another woman approached with a wheel of cheese and kindly asked if they cut cheese in the back; however, the employee turned and snapped at her saying she's clearly helping another customer and she needs to be quiet and wait. WOW!!! She literally gave me my sandwich and I was about to leave, plus there's no need to speak that way to a customer. The customer stood up for herself and said the employee doesn't need to speak in that tone with her to which the employee held her ground and started a fight. Then, the other coworker goes and tattles to the manager but completely misconstrued the situation acting like customer was in the wrong and saying bad things about the customer. I waited for her to leave then told the manager that she was lying and it was the two employees who were being rude. When I left the store another customer approached me to say thank you for saying something because she too has experienced the rude behavior of these two employees in the deli section. She said she comes daily to the store and that these two women consistently make it hell for shoppers. I have no idea how these two people still have a job, and I would be happy to discuss this further with management if they decide to actually do something about the parasites at this location. I will certainly not return to this pavilions, and I can only hope Pavilions cares about its customers enough to do something about the horrible behavior exhibited by these two employees. read more

GRUMPY STORE. Grumpy, bored, or simply disintetested, un-engaged mployees. With occasional exceptions, the people who check me out and bag are grumpy. Dismissive at best. I rarely feel appreciated or even remembered when I shop here. A smile, a kind word, heck even a "hello" seems foreign to many of the employees, as a general rule. As a person who has lived in town for 20 years, this has consistently been my experience. Pavillions is a great grocery store and more. They have the most amazing wine selections, and spirits. Ryan the store director and Britney assistant manager have brought so much sunshine to the store. All the managers and employees a warm and respectful. I especially like that they carry the Boards Head with different types meat and cheeses and salads and much more. Of course my favorite is their bakery goods great variety and fresh goods and the manager Joann is very sweet. What really makes the store unique is Ryan and Britney because they treat their employees so well that employees are motivated. read more

Great selection of groceries, and beer/wine! They also have a nice selection of organic produce. Their pricing is great, and I especially LOVE using their Pavilions app! I can't believe I waited so long to start using it - I didn't realize how much more money I could save on top of their sale prices. On my last shopping trip I saved an additional $9 off of my groceries just by using their app. The staff is also excellent. They always greet you with a smile, and are ready to help. What I like a about this store is the convenience of everything. They have a deli counter for sandwiches and other sides for a quick meal on the go. They have a decent variety of organic and gluten free products too! Just like every other grocery store they have a great gift card selection perfect for last minute gifts. I loved this store! Yes it is pricey but it is Laguna Beach and it should be expected. In fact I think they might be a sister store of Vons and Albertsons. They have the same products as those stores. The deli section was excellent and had this curry chicken salad that was excellent. Every item I got from the deli was wonderful. The fried chicken, curry salad, macaroni salad, coleslaw, and wedges. I even saw the olive bar right across from the deli. Omg I love olives and they had a few to chose from at the bar. I ended up getting the Mediterranean olives and blue cheese stuffed ones. Both were excellent and I think about 5.99 a lb. all the deli was excellent. read more

Very clean store with friendly staff. Enjoy getting all my groceries here when I camp at crystal cove. First time buying stuff at deli. First I asked for 8 piece fried chix dark meat. She was putting wings in the bag. She seemed annoyed that i told her she didnt get my order correct. Then when she went to get the 8 piece dark, she told me she only had 7 pieces and "what do you want me to do?" ‍ Had to ask her to give me another dark meat..baked if need be. My kids wanted mac n cheese. The tray was empty. Asked if she had more. Said "I dont know" and yelled at the guy in the in back. Then you hear "i dont know!" Appearing annoyed, she went to the back and got a tray out. Staff wasnt any better today. Didnt seem like she wanted to be at work. This morning I went to get some potato logs. They apparently call them sidewinders now. Two words...soggy, tasteless. Definitely wont be back for their deli though. read more

Crew and I stopped here and stocked up for a day on the beach. They kept the bathroom clean throughout the day and had a great selection of all kinds of groceries. We picked up donuts and turkey wraps, easy, no mess finger foods to devour. They have a large parking lot, pharmacy, and if you're in doubt of what your blood pressure is, there's a machine for your use while you wait in line for the bathroom. The free Laguna Beach shuttle stops right in front to save you a walk from the main beach (15 minutes), convenient location. read more
