First time visiting a Trader Joe's! Hearing great things about it, we came by after our crystal cove hike to grab some snacks and smoothies to refuel. Parking wasn't hard to find at this location. I had the mango smoothie was not too sweet. also tried the mochi rice nuggets which lacked flavour in my opinion. We got kettle chips and everything but the bagel seasoning as well which were good. I tried the pumpkin butter which was recommended to me but unfortunately was not a fan of the spice and flavour. Some items are hit or miss, I guess. Overall not a bad stop to check out the different snacks which were reasonably priced.

What can I say? It's Trader Joes!!! Affectionately nicknamed "TJ's" by those who know & love this unique chain of grocery stores, Trader Joe's offers a little something for everyone. With its first store opening in South Pasadena, California in 1967, Trader Joe's has expanded to over 500 stores across 42 states in the U.S. offering gourmet foods, vegetarian & vegan foods, frozen foods, fresh produce & meat, dairy, both domestic & imported wines & cheeses, fun seasonal items, pet products, skin products, vitamins, & more. It goes without saying that it's so fun shopping at Trader Joe's --- you never know what unique items you'll find! With a view of the ocean across the street, I especially love our local Trader Joe's, located in the Crystal Cove Shopping Center on Pacific Coast Highway in Newport Beach, California...I've been coming here for years. Unlike some of the other Trader Joe's, the Newport Beach location has plenty of parking, wider aisles that are easy to navigate, frozen foods in enclosed freezers, & they carry a nice selection of slightly higher-end products you may not find at other locations. Associates are friendly & helpful, they keep the store tidy & organized, & the wait times at the registers are minimal. As a bonus: If you come at just the right time, you'll practically have the entire store to yourself! And no...I'm not going to tell you when that time is. Keep up the good work Newport Beach Trader Joe's. I'm a fan!

What a wide variety here! We visited from out of town and as always I enjoyed perusing the aisles. Kind staff. Large aisles

All my Tree Tea oil products from TJ. Body wash, shampoo, conditioner, face wash. Facial pads, and tree tea oil.

Staying in Newport Beach is a blessing, quiet and secluded, away from my usual city life but it's so inconvenient. Everything is so f.a.r. away... That being said, having a Trader Joe's nearby, I'm thankful. Staffs are always so welcoming and friendly. One good thing is comparing the TJ from here in OC and LA is that products don't get run out as quick. Especially those seasonal items. In L.A., most of the time you snooze, you lose. This store is always stocked!

Jake helped me pick out some champagne today and he's very knowledgeable about his spirits!! This store is big for a shopping center TJ's and they have everything so well stocked!! I highly recommend!!

What's not to love about this place, always a great selection of products, fresh fruit, veggies, lots of ready to eat options in the freezer section. There's something for everyone, I really enjoy their ice cream comes, and when it's the holidays they will have either pumpkin or peppermint flavoured ones. And of course their flower section is amazing, these peonies were out of this world.

Super easy to find and very convenient. The store itself is always well stocked and well maintained. Whoever manages this store does a great job of making sure everything is faced properly and everything always seems to be in order. They always have a great selection of produce, as well as a great meat section kind of so you really can't beat it when it comes to great seafoods and meats. With plenty of parking, this place is a definite go-to if you happen to live in the area. Definitely check it out when you're there. Bottom line? There are always a lot of shopping centers and stores to choose from. I always try to go where I know they have the best products, the best price and the best selection. This Ralph's is definitely one of them. Dan says. Check it out!

From the bakery to Starbucks to the checkout lanes, every interaction felt like I had somehow interrupted everyone's day simply by being a customer. The staff I encountered were consistently rude, unhelpful, and surprisingly unprofessional. Questions were met with blank stares or short answers, and smiles appeared to be in shorter supply than some of the shelves. It genuinely felt like helping customers was the last thing on anyone's to-do list. If you're planning a visit, just know that friendly service probably isn't on the menu here. Don't expect a smile, and definitely don't expect anyone to go out of their way to assist you. On the bright side, the trip was efficient I got in, got out, and learned exactly where not to shop again. Unfortunately, even if this were the last grocery store left in the state, I'd still be strongly considering alternative food sources. Ralphs, I hope management takes a look at the culture at this location, because customers deserve far better than this experience.

Cateful buying fresh fruit and veggies at those overpriced prices! LOL Today I had another run in with a horrible, disrespectful, "I hate my job" employee. This time she decided that we were charged the correct amount for our 3 Skittles drink mixes. As she went over to the drink mix section and made that "official" determination. Saying that, "There's no sign that says it's on sale!" When I pointed it out that there was indeed a clear sign. This creepy employee then had the audacity to get huffy with me and declare, "Oh well, it doesn't matter anyways. I'm just going to issue you a refund. We aren't going to argue about this!" We went to where the "bathroom bargains" are and ripped the price sign off of the shelf. Brought it back to her. She tried to still deny the truth staring her right in the face! Finally after staring at the real price of our items, she declared, "Oh I guess I will honor it." Like she was somehow doing us a favor buy doing the right thing. I can get better deals buying in bulk with Amazon and Costco. I kind of wish this store would close permamtly. A store where you don't have to give your phone number would be awesome! Just go in, shop, pay and leave. I know it's a primitave concept but, the Pavillions concept is an epic "make people beg for bargains" fail. Passed this the store is overpriced. The store is usuallly decenly clean. Has too many bad employees. There's a slightly odd smell to the place. Can't quite put my finger on it but, there's something odd there. And seriously, what is it with the sale items being next to the bathroom? They shpuld be up front, so the confused, snotty emploees don't have to walk too far to find the correct price of certain items. Newport Beach can do better than this. The way it's going isn''t sustainable. Take this how you wish.

Every visit reminds me why I drive past several other grocery stores just to come here. From the upbeat team members to the unique products you can't find anywhere else, this Trader Joe's always delivers a five-star experience. Let's start with the vibe. The moment you walk through the doors, you're greeted with friendly smiles, upbeat energy, and those colorful hand-drawn signs that give the place a neighborhood-market feel instead of a corporate chain. The employees are genuinely helpful -- not just polite because they have to be. They actually seem happy to be there. Whether it's recommending a new snack, sharing a recipe idea, or tracking down that last bag of cauliflower gnocchi, the staff here go out of their way to make shopping feel personal and enjoyable. Now let's talk about the products, because this is where Trader Joe's really shines. Every aisle has something new, clever, or just plain delicious. I love that the store manages to be both practical and exciting -- you can pick up everyday essentials like milk, bread, and eggs, but right next to them are things you didn't know you needed: chili-lime cashews, cookie butter, unexpected cheddar cheese, or frozen croissants that make your kitchen smell like a French bakery. And unlike other grocery chains, everything here feels curated -- not overwhelming, but carefully chosen. The produce section is always fresh and well stocked. The fruits and vegetables are vibrant and affordable, and I appreciate that the store sources seasonally so there's always something new to try. Their floral section is also a hidden gem -- reasonably priced and perfect for brightening up the house without breaking the budget. The frozen food section deserves its own standing ovation. From their orange chicken to the vegan pasta bolognese, every item tastes like something from a real kitchen, not a factory. I've built entire dinners out of Trader Joe's frozen meals that taste homemade in under 20 minutes -- which is priceless on busy weeknights. Customer service here is consistently excellent. I've seen employees go out of their way to open extra registers when the line starts forming, walk a customer to a product instead of just pointing, and even replace an item that broke on the way out -- no questions asked. It's those small, human moments that make this store feel like more than a grocery stop. The prices are another reason this location earns five stars. You get premium-quality food for everyday-person prices, which is rare. You don't need coupons or loyalty cards -- the value is built right in. Every checkout experience is fast, smooth, and usually ends with a cheerful conversation that reminds you why this store has such a loyal fanbase. Even the parking situation, which can be a challenge at some Trader Joe's, is managed well here. It gets busy, but there's usually a quick turnover, and the staff outside help keep things moving safely and efficiently. What keeps me coming back most, though, is the feeling this place gives you. Trader Joe's Costa Mesa doesn't just sell groceries -- it sells convenience, creativity, and community. It's the kind of store where you discover something new each visit, chat with friendly staff who remember you, and leave feeling a little happier than when you walked in. If Yelp allowed six stars, this location would get them all. It's everything you want in a neighborhood market -- affordable, friendly, creative, and full of genuinely good food. Trader Joe's Costa Mesa is easily one of my favorite stops in town, and it's the reason I'll never go back to ordinary grocery shopping again.
