ZOMBIELAND! This place has absolutely the WORST customer service of any grocery store I've been to. Stay away! I used to think the manager was the only nice guy but he has recently changed and doesn't care. Just last week, while waiting for the cashier to check out my groceriers, she walked away from the register without a word. Never said a word - just walked away. 5 MINUTES later came back, never looked at me and started talking with the boy in another line. I then asked if she could check me out, didn't say a word and did so. The food there is fine but not worth the experience. I ALWAYS bring in my bags but they RARELY give me credit for it and I do it for the environment not the nickle I save. However, they are so checked out, they would have no idea if I even had my own bags or not. Okay, they are close to home, however, Fresh and Easy is too and has a great staff. I will only go to Ralphs now only if I have to. Someone needs to pay attnetion to this! They are TERRIBLE! read more

I am really going to miss the RALPH's location that it has CLOSED. We used to readily stop by here en route home when taking the Chapman exit off of the 55. The past few months while they were segueing to closing down this location has been pretty cool because we could get some pretty good bargains. Really sad to see them go. Planning to grocery shop at the Ralph's on Chapman and Main? I guess I can't stop you, can I? Well, then... 1. Start by reading some books on how to prep for an expedition to Everest. Invest in parkas, snow boots, heavy duty gloves and maybe even some goggles and a knit cap. Maybe this store is nice, I don't know. I have hypothermia right now. In fact, all I can think about is how I'm about to freeze to death in the cheese aisle. And when I do, other shoppers will just walk right by me, like they do with ol' "Green Boots" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Boots). For the love of god, turn down that A/C. 2. Get GPS. The layout of this store is so awful and logic-defying, you're bound to get lost. Instead of a sensible grouping found in most grocery stores, this Ralph's takes a more inventive approach. Aisles containing household items and toiletries are mixed in with the food items, instead of say, devoting the first 10 aisles to food and the last 4 to household/toiletries. Oh no, that would make far too much sense! Prepare to do a lot of backtracking. You might have to crack and ask an employee where the eggs are, for the love of god. Manager Isidro tonight told me to call the cops on a strange man standing outside the store the last several nights. This is after I asked a clerk chewing gum that said "I don't know that guy is here a lot. Can't help you. Ask the manager". This also after telling me to fill out the extensive Ralph's card form "agreeing to give your information to 3rd parties". No smile, no thanks for coming in, no help whatsoever. This place has never ever had anything I've originally come to get. Even if it's the most normal of items, this ralphs just has a way of saying "No, I don't think you're going to leave with that" and it's true. Various sodas - out of stock. Now in the face of the demise of a personal sized cake dessert, like a zombie apocalypse, this place was cleared out on the shelves of twinkies. the horror... the horror. While I was in the store there was also another two people looking for these things, so don't judge me! In any case, the store is open 24 hours and the self check outs are there. So if you want to bypass the terrible customer service, well, at least you have the option to deal with the computers. At night it's pretty chaotic as they do have boxes all over the place in a goal of restocking.. but again, they're always out of whatever I'm coming in for. So what are they unpacking? This was my local Ralph's for about three years. Sometimes I still stop by here when I'm in the area. They have good prices, good selection and a decent deli. The parking lot is a bit sketchy, as there are some scary individuals hanging around half the time. I try to park as close to the entrance as possible. There is a Marshall's and a Dollar Tree in the same center, so they all share the same parking lot. What I like best is that they have extremely cheap Ralph's brand cat litter. If you want to get into an accident or wait 20 minutes for a pump, choose this place. Also, dont let the prices on the sign fool you! This place 100% needs to be reported to the department of weights and measures. How is it that i can buy gas for what is supposed to be $3.25 a gallon and $20 fills a quarter of my tank, but if I go to an ARCO and where gas is $3.45 a gallon and spend $20 it fills 3/4 of my tank? I accept it may be a coincidence; however, I took 2 of my cars here, within 1 week of each other, and filled them (over 3/4 tank worth). They each ran great for a day, then when trying to start them the next day would only crank and not ignite. Hmmmmm... I am yet to do a full diagnostics, but it's quite suspicious that the only thing these cars had in common, that was out of the ordinary, was filling up here. If I find the problem is something else, I'll remove this review. Until then, ye be warned! read more

Friendliest Ralph's Ever + Great Produce I shop here every week, and I can say with confidence that this is probably the friendliest big chain grocery store location I've ever been to. Very happy and helpful staff. They have a great selection of produce, including organic foods at reasonable prices (golden beets anyone?), nice bakery goods, cheeses, hummus, etc., plus of course all the staples. Good variety of craft beer. It's true that the parking lot is quite busy, but I've never had a problem coming/going (lots of small-scale shoppers, so the average time in store seems lowish). Prices are better than Albertson's, selection much better than F&E, and they've got a lot of the nicer goods you can find at TJs or Sprouts for a lower prices/better convenience. While I love their sales, produce, and the Wells Fargo in the store, this location is creepy. I've had two men hit on me while I was trying to do my shopping. There are also a bunch of homeless begging for change in the front of the store. I just want to do my grocery shopping in peace! This location also doesn't always have the advertised product for their Free Friday Giveaways. I only come to this location if I'm in the area. Some of the employees are great workers, but others look like they really hate their jobs. read more

I am not sure who does the store's quality inspection, but on a handful occasions I've had to take food back due to it being spoiled or gone bad at the store. Problems: 1) Ice Cream, got it home and it looked like it had previously melted and froze again 2) Sun-dried tomatoes had gone bad, probably were left out too long at the store 3) Cheese was rock hard and tasted weird. 4) Lettuce was mushy and soggy after a day I showed the store manager and they gave me a refund for the items I did take back within a few days, that is WHEN I had the time to go back....While these items were all bought on separate occasions within a 6 month time frame, I am convinced that the food quality inspection is not being done properly OR they know the number of items that have gone bad and wait for the customer to return them or hope they don't say anything. This is probably one of the reasons the prices are above average/higher compared to other grocery stores. Get it together Ralph's or move out and let another store provide food to the public. Also, agree with other comments, parking is bad but I mostly blame it on the elderly and foreign drivers who shop at the near by stores. read more

This place is so off and on. I get it, majority of the people that come here are really rude. So is a majority of the staff that works here. Lower and upper level management. The store is close by to where I live. That's the only reason why I go here. And I keep shopping to a minimum here because I really don't want to contribute to this place. Normally I have a great experience here. Been living in Orange for about 30 years. So I went in to get a few bottles of water. I like trying different brands to see what the flavor is like. So I decided on one, but it was on the top shelf (all the way in the back). So I went to ask the cashier for some help from JT. He was like what do you need? So I answered him. Just some water and he gave me this weird look... and said someone will be right there to help. So I waited... then I noticed that the staff of 5-6 people just group up talking?!?! So I went and asked for help again. Apparently JT is a supervisor. It sure didn't seem like he even care about me as a customer. This is why I'd rather shop at Albertsons, at least they care enough to implement policy's to help customers review the store. I couldn't even find that on the receipt. Recently moved from Costa Mesa to Santa Ana and this is the nearest Ralphs. The store is smaller, clientele a little shabbier but who cares everyone has to eat. What I take issue with is the produce. 90% of the fruits and veggies I've gotten here looked poor at best on the shelf, and have spoiled wayyy too quickly once I get them home. Salad lasts 2-3 days tops and berries sometimes are rotten the next day. I don't know if this Ralph's is last on the distribution list or what, but every produce item I've gotten (sans tough root veggies like carrot or potato) has been garbage. +1 star for very friendly staff, but fix your produce y'all. It's bad enough where I'm switching to Sprouts & Albertsons for my main grocery trips. read more

Used the curb side pick-up a few times. We were enjoying the service, a few hiccups the first 2 times but we couldn't tell if it was us or the store. This last time we waited over an hour for our groceries to be brought out. When they finally came, without the groceries, they said there was a system error and they didn't get the notification we were there. Even though we had called and spoken to someone. Also 3 other cars pulled up and got their groceries during the time we were waiting there. Another 15 minutes and they finally bring the groceries. The guys says hold on I'll bring your receipt and never returns. We finally left without receipt. Will no longer be using this service or shopping at this store read more

This is the Ralph's I visited the most for years. I used to live around here. After I moved far, I come back to this area once a while, several times a month, and this store has got a great location. It's open late, and has got almost everything, lots of choices, and lots of mark downs. Talking about mark downs, it's kinda tricky, tho I knew it's not specific to a single store. They have red tags really grab your eyes, but you need to watch them. I actually didn't pay that much attention to comparing prices, until I happened to buy a face cleanser from them recently. Days ago, I added a face cleanser in my cart on amazon and was still waiting for my demanding something else to reach over 25 total for free shipping. When I dropped by Ralph's, I saw the same product, and just grabbed it, while it had a red tag as marked 1 dollar down. This single product is not over ten dollars. I didn't remember the exact price of the one I put in my cart on amazon. After I came home, I was just gonna delete it online. Then here's the lil "bang". It's three dollars lower than the already marked down price in Ralph's. I'm not saying just go online and buy, coz it still takes time and all that. But next time what I would do is at least kinda have an idea where the level is maybe in like Target, Walmarts, etc. stores like that. Well you'd feel quite ok and tied if you go CVS and walgreens a lot, they do the same tag things as Ralph's do on personal care stuff, they just do more, lol. If your wallet and debit card is so loaded, just ignore what I am saying. Yes you may have noticed the strategy of the one stop shop everything of the grocery stores, some low some high. They give you the convenience. But the strategy of smart shopping, especially in this low economy, I'd say, we customers shall list everything we need a lil more ahead, so that we can plan on some smarter shopping using spare time. I understand this a lot when I am in a rush buying something. "Do you think I passed blablabla?" "Have I missed bla and bla?" they asked. I have never been so upset in my life as I was yesterday which was Wed with this particular Ralphs on main and Chapman...and their DELI department, and I will never ever step foot in that store again!!! Yesterday of all days was the day I laid my mom to rest at her beautiful funeral services surrounded by her loved ones whom I had expected to feed after the service with one of her favorite foods FRIED CHICKEN, while reminiscing about her life, our life with her but what a disaster!! It would be different if I had waited to the last minute to plan for this meal but that was not the case...I had called the deli department at Ralph's on Tuesday afternoon in regards to ordering a 50 piece platter of JUST fried chicken for Wed 4pm pick up. I was then told to call back Wed morning to place my order, which I did. I spoke with EFFIE in the deli around 830am who assured me that it would be done at the specific time. Myself and my husband went that same morning around 1030am to pick up various salads we also needed from the deli and also spoke to another deli employee confirming our order for the 50 piece platter for fried chicken, she too assured us that it would be ready. So after leaving the funeral, heading to RALPHS I decided to call the deli and let them know we were on our way to pick up our order and to my surprise the girl who answered stated she had just come on to work and had NOT received ANY orders for the 50 pieces fried chicken and of course there was not 50 pieces of fried chicken available either...are you kidding me I just about had a stroke!! I then asked to speak with the store manager who was useless and provided no solutions other then DUH..so we spent the next 30 minutes running around getting the chicken as my family and friends prepared the rest of the meal.....Thank GOD for KFC who came through with flying colors!!! I hope the apron and smock that your meat department employee is wearing on his break (outside of the store) isn't the same apron and smock he wears while he cuts meat. This isn't the first issue I've hade with this meat department. Prior to posting this review I found numerous units of out of code raw pork sausage. I hate to shop. I mean, I really hate to shop. But you have to eat, right? The parking can be tough but not horrible. The carts are new so no wheels that refuse to turn. They carry the items I need to get and I try to get in and out as quick as possible. Workers are friendly and helpful. I tend to shop later at night so checkout is usually not a problem. I am kindda new to this Orange loc, but i had to shop at my lunch hour to get some food. Not impress with their customer service. I had to question the price because what is being rung vs what's in the container is different. I have told the cashier but no one picked up the phone for her so she had to ask her fellow teammate. she was lazy, she just looked at the picture on her phone and told her the price is what's being rung. i had to tell her no it isnt the right price so i told her to come with me to where the location was, and told her that it is clearly written on there, the price of the item. they corrected the price so i was appreciative of that, but. geez lueez, show some effort, good customer service, be more professional. Also, their parking lot is pretty tight since they are sharing it with other businesses in that strip. Be vigilant of cars when finding a parking spot. They need to have better customer service. and to have better arrangement in their floor plan so its easy to locate items. read more

I was in the store this morning around 6:15am 2nd time I have been to this location and your checker Judith P. is very rude. I needed to ring my groceries up through a register and not through a self check out and I'm standing there waiting to tell her, she was on her cell phone, and saw me standing there didn't care. I had to tell the bus boy who was bagging some groceries and he told her,she had attitude I guess because she actually had to work. After all this was said and done I told her thank you very much have a good day and she did not say a word and just handed me the receipt. This Ralphs is close to home, so I tend to do my grocery shopping here. I really wish there was something better that was this close.. The parking is quite awful, really. I almost always have to drive around a bit before I can actually catch someone leaving. Not a whole lot of staff here, and the last time I went, I went into the self register section in order to avoid the long lines. I had to wait a couple minutes for the clerk to come by and simply press a button. Though what she was wearing caught my eye. She was wearing a very bright pink outfit that did not look like Ralphs appropriate attire to say the least. Plus, she mostly was talking to the other employees most of time too. After I got home, I proceeded to open my ice cream box that I was so desperately excited for. I couldn't get the ice cream bars out. Each individual package was stuck to the bottom and the sides of the box, and on the inside, it was obvious that they were left out and had melted at some point. The sticks were all over the place and made it very difficult to actually eat the ice cream- if I could even get the plastic packaging off of it. One good thing though, is the soup there. Besides the day old macaroni and meat that were sitting out, the tortilla soup that they provided was actually pretty decent. read more
