Aldi's has become my go to grocery store because of the low prices and quality of food. Although the store is smaller than larger chains, they carry a select number of items that are good quality. The green onions are all packed in a sealed plastic bag to keep them clean. The milk and eggs are great quality and lower priced than other stores. Only a few times that I've encountered they can do better on the fresh fruits and deli meats. The strawberries were moldy or the prosciutto was hardening. But they usually do a good job on removing those items off the shelves. read more

Jennifer was doing her rounds and we just happened to grab a box off her lift (since we didn't grab a cart because "we didn't need one"). But as always we needed something to put our items in so we purchased an insulated bag also (that's moms thing "bags"). I haven't been here in a while but nothing has changed. The store is still super clean, well organized and I can always find something special. The produce area is always so nicely organized and there are so many options: broccoli, squash, cauliflower, mushrooms, apples: Honeycrisp, Gala, Fuji, Granny Smith! There's all kinds of berries, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and the Driscolls brand (the same exact brand Costco carries), just a smaller size container. CHEESE!!! So many, many, options....yummy!!!!! I am obsessed with the Brie....give me, give me!!! I grabbed that a Gruyere. We also grabbed some chicken drumsticks (Dad wanted fried chicken). There was so many new things we didn't have time to check out. Jennifer also checked us out. The line was getting backed up since they only had one checkout open. She was polite and efficient. This store wasn't as organized as the other Aldi that I went but they had great customer service...Even though it was a very long line, only one line was open. The ambiance was Aldi ambiance and the merchandise were correctly and reasonable priced. Honestly I've shopped at almost every single store and compared prices. Apart from Grocery Outlet, Aldi is my favorite place to go. Everything is super affordable. Meat and veggies are all pretty cheap. I don't even know why I bother going to Ralph's or anything. Service is pretty quick! I've never seen a 3rd line open before but I like that they scan things hella fast Everyone here is always really nice and a calm ambiance. Inflation? What inflation? Every time I shop at Aldi, I'm amazed at how much I save! I can fill my cart with fresh protein--salmon, steak, ground turkey, chicken--along with rice and more, all for under $100 for two weeks or more. As a part-time student and full-time nurse, I'm all about budgeting, and Aldi makes it easy to stick to my financial goals while enjoying fresh food. We were disappointed this year when ALDI's advent calendars, a longtime family tradition, were unavailable. We arrived at the Anaheim store before opening on release day, but only one wine calendar was available for several people waiting. Since calls to other stores went unanswered due to staffing issues, we visited additional locations with the same result. Store staff were also unsure about future shipments, so we ended up purchasing a similar item elsewhere. Unfortunately, we haven't received a response from ALDI customer service. We've always enjoyed ALDI, but may have to shop elsewhere moving forward if communication and product access don't improve. read more

I've been to this Aldi a couple times and it's never been a disappointment. I usual come here for some produce, bread, and anything else that is on sale. This place is has a huge parking lot so spaces to park is plenty. This store also offers curbside pickup which is nice. Of the other Aldis I've been to try don't have this feature. The only downside to this Aldi is that the entrance it is close to the street from where cars turn in so always look both ways when you exit and enter the store. I've had near misses where I'm exiting the store and cars just kept going. They just won't stop to let you get across to your car. Plus three are bumps to slow they turn down, but not always. Of the times I've been here items are usually in stock except for things that are really good deal then it may be a hit of miss. I recommend checking out their online weekly ads to see what's on sale that week and plan ahead. Sometimes there are unadvertised deals so that's a plus too! read more

Hands down my favorite grocery store in SoCal. Ever since I moved down here I needed to find a store that had cheap produce for my student life. And Aldis made the cut! From cheap eggs, produce, poultry, even a designated section for some sale items called "Aldi's Finds" has some great stuff on sale as well! Aldis has been my fiance and I's to-go grocery place for our meal preps. Pro-tip: bring your reusable bags because if you don't have a quarter to borrow their carts your reusable bags are going to come in handy for sure. Aldis has you using a quarter to borrow their carts and then when you're done you return the cart and you get your quarter back. Their system is a little bit different; the cashier checks you out but you end up bagging all your items. I like their system because you don't end up waiting in the line too long because the workers there are quick when it comes to checking everyone out. I go to Aldis about once a week to restock on groceries. One of the best grocery stores I've ever been to! read more

Came here today to see what the fuss was about, the grocery selection was decent although there was a lot of empty shelves, worst thing was the cashier. She pulled my cart cus I wasn't fast enough and slammed it against the cashier cage then proceeded to be rude ( skeleton looking skinny girl with way too much make up) Elizabeth. I asked if everyone at the store was just as rude then laughed and said I was being rude because I didn't push my cart all the way to were she didn't have to get out of her torn office chair that she was sitting on. I asked to speak to the manager (Maria) she said it was misunderstanding like she didn't hear her yelling at me and my teenager while she was on the other register she also said that she was the nicest they had which I found funny. I know times are hard people are stressed and stores are understaffed but this is unacceptable. Lastly this area of Anaheim is very trashy a lot of transient lurking around inside and outside. The truth is I only came here to check the if the prices are the same as in walmart and to buy the Keto friendly bread. Meah and No. The prices in some stuff can be comparable to Walmart, yes the store is quite organized but they don't have the regular brands that I've grown accustomed to. The fresh produce is good, and they have a decent section of organic stuff. No, they DO NOT carry the keto friendly bread in Aldi, not on this Aldi not in any Aldi in California! Aren't they awesome? When I inquired about it, the cashier was mean about it, she "suggested" me to call the customer service number (yeah right) The only cool thing I found was 2 Moscow Mule cups almost $10, didn't buy them but the price was good. I typically shop at the Buena Park one (across from the mall) because the parking here is awkward compared to the BP one. Aldi is a German based company, and one of the fastest growing stores in the country. California is one of the last few states to finally get one. Aldi has been my new go-to place for my basic grocery items. Key word: Basic items. Don't expect to find everything you want here. BRING a quarter if you want a cart. There's no stock boys to retrieve your cart, so it is a self service "borrow" a cart for a quarter. Don't worry, you'll get it back when you return the cart. Also, bring your own bags, unless you want to buy Aldi's paper or plastic ones (starts at 10c, depending what bag you buy). Again, DON'T expect name brand items, and don't expect to find everything on your list. It's not a massive chain grocery store. Think of it like a Trader Joes or even a Sprouts. If you need milk, eggs, cheese (boy, do they have a good cheese selection!), produce, canned goods, soup, etc... you should be able to find what you need here. VEGETARIANS and vegans people, rejoice! They have a good selection of plant based items. There's even a decent selection of gluten free and organic items. As you enter, you'll find wine, beer, chocolates, nuts, snacks... there's a small produce section (be careful, most are already ripe, and won't last more than a few days to consume). Along the perimeter are breads, meats, dairy and frozen foods. CHECKING OUT: When you check out, don't worry how you place it on the conveyor belt. After you unload your cart, swing your cart in front of the cashier and they'll reload your cart. You'll move the cart to a counter after paying, and pack your bags the way you want. If you forgot a bag, you can haul your stuff to your car, unload it there, and then return your cart to get your 25c deposit back. The prices are incredibly reasonable, and you can find great bargains. Those who gave 1 star have NO CLUE what an Aldi is... and they should just stick to the expensive markets. read more

I usually go to the Aldi in Fountain Valley but needed to grab groceries and this location was near my school. I can't wait until Aldi in Garden Grove opens! I love Aldi because like Trader Joe's, they have their own "brand" so prices are lower than your average grocery store. I save so much shopping here so little things such as putting a quarter in to grab a cart or having to bag your own groceries doesn't bother me. I usually purchase vegetables, fruits, meats, dairy, and occasionally some snacks so Aldi is perfect for me. Their hummus is delicious for $1.99 vs $3-4 for Sabra or other named brands. Plus, the hummus will last me a month in my fridge without molding! I also find that lunchmeat and cheeses cost less compared to other grocery stores. I have yet to try their chips, cereals, and chocolates to see if it's the same as the brands I'm familiar with. I forgot my cashier's name but she was the only cashier and she thanked each customer for their patience and was very conversational but not to the point where you're thinking "okay wrap it up, let's keep the line moving." I also noticed a customer asked her if they had more cauliflower and she called someone on the floor to bring him one if he needed it. So sweet! read more

Just watch out for the expiration dates for all other items esp refrigerated foods. Price: since all prices are going up, shopping here helped me save a lot on groceries. Well I used to be pretty excited to be coming to this aldi atleast every other week to shop but recently wow.. I mean I get it cost of living goes up so every thing goes up in price also atleast 50cents an item.. but atleast keep your products fresh and available.. most of the time I come here now there's always something I need that's out of stock. There's always a few workers "stocking" too but seems like they're just breaking boxes down all the time.. There's hardly ever any plastic bags to put tomatoes, lemons etc in... DO NOT COME TO THIS ALDI!! My cashier JOSE (Hispanic wears glasses and looks unapproachable) started scanning my items and after each scan he would literally throw my items in the cart. I had a glass cutting board that almost broke due to his little tantrum. Then I proceeded to pay with cash and he threw the change in my hand. My mom was right behind me so I waited to see if he would do the same thing to her and sure enough he did. I then pull to take the cart to go bag my items. He pulls the cart back aggressively and says "I need the cart to stay here" This is by far the worst customer service I've ever experienced. He should not be on the registers. I general, I've always appreciated Aldi for their pricing (not so much their quality). I've thought about my last visit a few weeks ago and decided I should let others know. I was there late morning and they were busy with only one checkout open. They opened another checkout and directed a few of us, that happened to be seniors, that were next to the new check stand but other people behind us moved in front of us to the front of the checkout. I pointed this out to the checker and she ignored me. The manager came up and, basically, said I was causing a scene. I explained the situation and said I thought this was a shameful way to treat seniors and she said I was able to buy my groceries so I could leave the store now. I won't be back, my impression of this store is they really don't look out for the seniors shopping there and are not interested in their opinions. This level of customer service was appalling. I'd rather spend a tiny bit more at Ralph's or Stater Brothers or Smart and Final than be treated like a second class citizen. read more

Normally, I just deal with the terrible customer service here and go on with my day. But today, Kevin was absolutely rude to an elder woman in front of me. He couldn't let go of the fact that she used a fruit plastic bag to carry multiple cans after she had explained to him she didn't have a quarter for a cart and couldn't carry them in her arms because of her bad shoulders. As if the company had lost $1k over one bag that was used for another purpose. The lady also asked a simple question of her payment and after using 3 seconds of his energy to explain, he proceeded to roll his eyes, shake his head, and acted like he ran a marathon as she pulled out more money to pay the remaining balance. Mind you, the line was barely a line and the store was open for barely two hours so it generally wasn't busy or picking up at all. Today was a special day because the ALDI associate Tori, was amazing. She went up and beyond to help me even though I was a curb side customer. I've been to another ALDIs, but this one seems a little bit bigger and has more selections than my local one. After I walked around to see their options, I grabbed myself 2 boxes of dry cereal and a box of 6 beef tamales from the Frozen section to bring to work. For about $10, not bad at all. As with all ALDI stores, you should bring your own grocery bag. But if you need that 10 cent bag to line your trash can at home, by all means...buy that bag. Parking is a plenty here. Good selection of inexpensive wines - I bought an 88point Valdobbiadene Prosecco - cheap less than $10. Got some beautiful fresh dark cherries, 2 doz tortillas, a box of dog biscuits for the pup and dark choc covered superberries - pomegranate. 20 bucks. A lot of different seasonal stuff that was worth looking & thinking about. No, just no. I visited Aldi when I loved in the U.K., so I understand the store... what I don't understand here is the absolute lack of quality. Maybe when I was abroad I didn't study ingredients as closely? So many things I picked up were packed with high fructose corn syrup. I'll admit I don't watch what I eat very well, but I do look out for that. I felt like every package I picked up contained cheap ingredients. No wonder the food prices were comparatively "low"? Low price, low quality? There were some brand-name items like Kellogg's, I believe, but nothing that was a "wow."
