Fresh green almonds
Doug B.

I recently read about green almonds and wanted to try them. I spent quite a bit of time searching and could not find anyplace local that had them. I posted an inquiry on a local community message board and someone recommended Altayebat Market. I called and low and behold they said they had them. When I arrived, I was surprised that they were fresh and not a bagged product. I was even more surprised that they were only $1.29/pound! I didn't have time to look around, but they obviously have a lot of different foods and brands that you won't find at a regular market.

I wanted to love this place so bad!!! Being in Lil Arabia, Anaheim, there's no cultural grocer market. There's shops here & there but no grocery store... except this one? Only 10 people were being let in at a time which is annoying.. but actually I didn't mind since the inside of the store is SO small. It's very crammed & it's like the size of a bigger convenience store lol. The inside is dingy, old, & needs a major facelift. There are some good products here & there. The meat department is lacking!!! I was going to pick up chicken but no way I'll go up the street for that. There was interesting finds in the meat department, lamb brain, lamb fat, lamb kidney, lamb heart, which I haven't seen in stores on the shelf before. One thing though.. the spices! They were all decently priced! & all laid out nicely & priced! I would for sure come back here for spices. I guess I was expecting more... something bigger with variety like Pioneer Cash & Carry in Artesia. Don't think I'll be back visiting anytime soon. Bummer cuz I was expecting more out of this store!

TLDR: Instacart messed up my order and the store owner helped give me clarification, great customer service I ordered through Instacart and I couldn't believe this happened. I initially ordered 4 different types of meats. One of which (lamb) was out of stock so that is no problem. The chicken I had ordered came perfectly and it was perfectly weighed. The third was 1lbs seasoned ground beef for kofta. The fourth item was supposed to be 2lbs seasoned beef sirloin meat for kebabs. Instead of getting the sirloin meat, I got 2lbs of the ground beef for kofta. So now I have 3lbs of ground beef. Now hold your horses, I understand, "It's just some extra meat, they probably gave the wrong bag to your instacart person". I would love to believe that as well because it would be an understandable issue. However, when looking at the prices (see pictures #1 & #2), same item name, same identification number, however different pricing. If this confusion can be cleared up then that would be great since I don't think that the store itself would be trying to scam people, I don't think there was any ill intentions either. Edit: the owner was very helpful as per the response, weird that the review I wrote was finally posted. Instacart will be contacted in regards to this issue

Our go to Middle Eastern market when we are in Southern California. Service: Excellent & Friendly Quality: Superb Price: Inexpensive compared to Northern Cali Will definitely be coming back when we are in Los Angeles.

My mom went to this store as a kid with her parents and we had to continue to tradition. The hour drive was totally worth this classic Arabic grocery store in the heart of Anaheim , California. You will find a lot of your needs for Arabic dishes and good brands that you can't find at Walmart or other grocery stores. The owner was extremely helpful and walked us through how to make an online meat order on their website . He even offered to hold our order in the fridge while we continued to shop in the area. These workers went the extra mile to make sure you were taken care of, they even help you carry your groceries to your car. If all you want is a drink, I recommend the Vimto , and just stop by to support small minority businesses ! They are also on Instacart!!!

And while many times, some of the dips with garlic leave your breath warding off vampires all the way to Transylvania, they're absolutely worth it. This company makes amazing savoury dips (which I found out can be used to marinate meat also), hummus, fresh yogurt/kefir, labne, pita bread, chips, fresh pickles, pickled veggies, and more. We absolutely love the Cali Dip, Kitchen Sink, Crazy Mix, Pistachio labne, and strawberry labne. YUM. Just make a meal of it! It's so satisfying. Mostly, their products use olive oil, and I'm kind of a seed oil snob (I always check the label for this) and their products have minimal (I asked the owner) who said the canola oil used is minimum and used for making it smooth and cohesive. I appreciate they know their products and take pride on what goes in them. You can become full from trying all the different dips with their amazing samples! Get the amazing and soft pita bread to go with it, also!

Mortimers Market is themed as a store from the 1920s that would offer fruit and vegetables. It's design includes wooden crates, vintage style cans and barrels, fruit and produce displays similar to what you would have seen in a early Los Angeles market. When I visited Mortimers Market during the Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon weekend, the store had a lot of Halloween themed merchandise. There was also fresh fruit such as apples, bananas, vegetables, snacks, and cold beverages. Some items may run out towards the end of the day, but this location is a great place to stop by for a quick service option!

I usually shop at Amazon Fresh because there's no line, it's less crowded and I can ring myself up or have the robot shopping cart do it and be on my way. This Sprouts is equally a pleasant shopping experience. Normally if I get coffee, I'd order from Klatch using their app then pick it up in store and be on my way, but the last two times I needed groceries and decided to get them here since I picked up my coffee here and to save me a trip to Amazon Fresh. After picking up my coffee, I was looking at my phone at a TikTok for ingredients and an employee walked up concerned and asked me if everything was ok since I was kind of hovering by the end of the aisle. I let her know I was ok and that I was just looking down at my phone, I wasn't sad and we had a chuckle. Once I figured out what I needed I turned down the pasta aisle and another one of the employees was going down that aisle at the same time and greeted me and asked if I found everything ok and I said, yes, thank you! I was honestly there for about 15 minutes and it felt like everyone was making sure I was ok and that's the other reason why I would shop here over Amazon Fresh. I was told by this couple that I know that shops here religiously that they have very good deals on Tuesday? Something about checking the ends of the aisles or you can find deeply discounted items here. Parking here can get a little crazy and nowt hey have Tesla chargers at the end of the lot so it's a little busier with that traffic, but I've always been able to find a good parking spot. It's nowhere near as bad as Costco and Amazon Fresh across the street.

Once I picked which ones I wanted to try for my wine tasting, Celeste, asked if it was ok if she came by and poured my wines one by one vs brining them all out at once.
