I have been shopping here for 15 years. The morning crew they hire for re-stocking the shelves has one bad apple. He is very rude and on 2 occasions he told me to move out of his way. When I questioned him he told me to F off. I reported him to store management a year ago. This morning he still works there and I overheard him tell an elderly female customer to move out of his way as she was looking into the freezer compartment. I will never shop here again. It seems store management needs new employee training to stop this verbal abuse to customers and has done nothing about this one idiot. I also believe employees should be stocking the shelves on a graveyard shift before the store gets busy in the mornings. It does not cost more to hire for night work because many good people will take those hours just to be employed. I enjoy shopping at "my" Ralph's. It's one street away from where I live so where else am I going to schlep to? Honestly, I've always enjoyed this store. Most of the employees are great and yes there have been a few hiccups over the years. For example, there was a time back about 10-15 years ago when they were selling expired canned and boxed items. I caught them more than once doing this but after many complaints from a lot of people, I believe they fixed that issue. And the new upgrades are nice, especially the new Starbucks. A lot of people on NextDoor complain the Starbucks has attracted less than normal clientele but I don't notice it. Overall this Ralph's is a great store that I will be shopping at for years to come! read more

The line for self checkout and the only other check-out lines are the longest I've ever seen in a store and employees are walking around like they don't notice. Come on. I have always been a loyal Ralph's fan. Now I drive out of my way because I know how inconsistent this place is. I live 500 yards away, but I rather drive 3 miles to the next grocery store because they are always out of simple things like cream, or my organic creamer, garlic, onions etc etc. I'm writing into corporate. It's so frustrating and the only people who care are the cashiers, the managers do not. They reply "we only carry one size and only Ralph's brand... Sometimes we run out". No solution, no sorry. LOVE this Ralph's. It's open until 2AM, which I found out recently when my best friend and I found a stray cat and decided to take it in, which required a cheap litter box, litter, and food. We were allowed to bring in the cat even though she was meyowing a bit, they were very friendly and helpful, as always. They have a HUGE selection. read more

LOVE THIS STORE!! MUAH! Well, except for the annoying screaming bell that comes on at Midnight! No, I'm not kidding. I asked the cashier WTF that high pitched bell was when I first heard it. I go to my local Ralph's quite frequently, usually on my way home from work to get a drink/dinner. I love the people working and they have pretty much anything I need. However my review is based on my terrible experience today at the self checkout. I walked up to the first open lane, not fully paying attention (which I'll admit my fault), scanned my card and then went to scan my items. Before I scanned anything, I noticed a potato salad was listed on there. I didn't have potato salad so then realized it must have already been on the screen. Figuring no big deal, tried to void the item and have the person working self checkout come clear it and I'd start over. No. That was not the case. The worker walked over seemingly already annoyed and asked, "what do you need?" As I started to explain, he then answers with the following answer extremely rudely. "Well what happened is that somebody scanned the potato salad, probably had alcohol, realized after seeing the sign they can't do self checkout with alcohol and walked away. Now, I'm not sure why you didn't go to a lane that said , 'Open' when you saw this. That one right next to you is open. Go use that one." Then proceeded to walk away. I was completely stunned at his attitude. Not sure why he needed to be a dick about it and why he couldn't just clear the ONE item on the screen. I didn't feel like arguing with him so I just went to the next lane and checked myself out, no problems. I did watch another person right after myself do the exact same thing and also witnessed him having attitude to another female customer. I wish I had his name. But, I now next time if I see him, I'll just pull my yelp review and say he should seriously be addressed about his attitude problem. read more

For the safety of your employees and customers, I hope you get back to monitoring the number of customers that can enter the store at one time. This is my go to Ralphs , I always find what I'm looking for and if there is something I can't find , they usually check the back for me. I've gotten to know some of the cashiers so I usually go to their lanes , they are always friendly and quick . I've seen the manager walking around greeting customers and helping them get to quicker checkout lanes . Their soup and salad bar is pretty good , so is their bakery. Been going here for years and will continue to do so. read more

Had an emergency last minute cake issue today (mistake with the names on the cake) with a cake that was purchased from another bakery. Ran over to Ralph's across the street from me and the two wonderful bakers there were able to fix my cake in a matter of minutes! Thank you Claudia! I give them a three because the layout of the store is awful, they restructured the store a few years ago and it needs to be redone again. I believe that the sushi bar should be moved forward once again, and remove the cheese island, the left rear of the store where is the meat, and fish counter is, is a dark and uninviting area. I Call it the dead zone. I think when they remodeled the store they forgot about the left side of the store. I remember after they remodeled they gave us road maps of where to find things. And I get the feeling that the employees are just as confused about the store as we customers are. I only go to Ralph's now when I absolutely have to. My sister stop going altogether, and only goes to Handy Market, The Vons pavilions, and Whole Foods now when she needs to go to the market because she so frustrated with this store. We're also now limited at what we can choose within a brand to purchase at the store because there's so many products on the market to fill the shelves with you end up having to go to other stores to get what you want like the Vons on Pass. I spend approximately 2K on food each month, my son is 7'3" tall, and has been is 6'8" tall. And my sons friends are all tall as well, And eat a tremendous amount of food and drink during the week. Our home is also a production home for film, and supply food for the crew as well. I really wish they would straighten the store out get it right. This market is the closest in the area if you live on or off Victory. They're in such a fabulous location on Victory and Buena Vista, you think that the store would get it together. On the other hand I give the employees five stars, they are a hard-working, very pleasant, helpful people. The store is kept clean, and the cashiers are fabulous! They remember their customers, make you want to come back to the store just to say hi to them. Hell of a crew from the district manager, to the guy keeping the floor clean. I go in early in the morning and the people stocking are very courteous, and helpful and though they're very busy they always accommodate the customer. I really hope that Ralphs reads this, and makes changes to the store so that I can Continue shopping there for convenience. Do not shop at this store. This bitch Donika was at the self check out.i purchased an item of chump change of $20. I came back in to look for my receipt to return it. She tells me she needs to go look at the cameras I said ok.then she comes back n tells me that she needs original receipt when cameras clearly shows me buying the shit. Now I started to ask for her store director Luis Cardenas cus she profiled me by saying that I'm trying to keep original receipt to return I'll break down like this it means that I was going to steal one n return it with original receipt. This Ralph's had become my go to store since other Ralph's markets are going down fast. This one is less bad, though the aisles are becoming more and more cluttered with displays of nuts, cookies, stuff on close out sale; you name it. The ease of navigating the aisles seems to be of no concern, to the employees//management who are restocking shelves. Even though this disregard for the customers is off-putting, I have endured it up to now. This evening I planned to shop in the evening - normally I go during daylight hours. When I arrived at 8:30pm I saw that the parking lot was pitch dark. There was no lighting. Not only did it seem really unsafe, but I also thought to myself, that this showed Ralph's in one more way displayed total disregard for their customers. I am both fed up and angry. The good news is that Ralph's is far from the only grocery in town, I will just take my business elsewhere. read more

Not a fan of this store. First of all, don't go on a weekend. I've seen near-accidents in the crowded parking lot, which is full of angry customers trying to get in and out quickly. I find the placement of items here generally confusing and illogical. Shouldn't parchment paper, for example, be located with the baking stuff? It's on a completely unrelated aisle far away. This seems to be true for whatever I'm looking for; where I finally find it is not where I'd expect it to be. And nobody offers help to find these oddly-placed items. It's sometimes hard to find someone to ask, and when you do, they often make you feel they're too busy to be bothered. So when I have to go to this location, I just try not to ask. BEWARE!!! If you're pre-ordering for Thanksgiving BEWARE! Last year they had someone with inadequate training taking the Thanksgiving orders except they didn't tell him they had to be paid in advance or guaranteed with a credit card. Rather than follow up and call me for my credit card #, Ralph's decided to simply not fulfill any order that their employee processed improperly. Let me say that again: Ralph's DECIDED NOT TO HONOR OUR THANKSGIVING ORDERS AND NEVER INFORMED US OF THAT DECISION. I showed up around 2pm on Thanksgiving and was told I wasn't getting my family's PRE-ORDERED Thanksgiving dinners. They offered me the one ham they had left and I took it. By the time I exited the market there were about a dozen other people who had gotten the same news and they looked like they were ready to riot. I ended up driving around to 3 or 4 other markets to cobble together Thanksgiving dinner. The worst part is, I'll bet they fired the little old Spanish man who was working in the dept. instead of the members of management whose job it was to properly train the old guy. This place is on my way home and [as a last resort] I sometimes pick up milk for my daughter. Even though it's convenient, it still irritates me to drop money in that store. read more

To be fair I frequent this Ralph's often. Usually it's a 4 star (by Yelp's standards) in my opinion, but I just have to say something because what happened today (well yesterday now) was gross. Before I start, this isn't so much about the store as it is about the property of the store: the shopping carts. I went to Ralph's to grab a few things I needed. I selected a cart from the area left of the entrance near the redbox machine, and that is where my little olfactory adventure started. As I walked through the aisles, I began noticing a bad odor emanating from the cart. To put it the best way I know how without being too vulgar- It reeked of what I would equate to a long-unwashed rear end. Not only that, but whatever touched or got placed inside the basket (which unfortunately included my hands by the time I noticed the smell) also became permeated with this foul smell. While I was standing in checkout, I realized just how bad this ungodly funk was. The smell was detectable from at least 3-5 feet away, not to mention the faces of those who were nearby. Now I was thinking to myself "Did some homeless person 'own' this cart before it was returned to the store? I hope people don't think it's me that smells like this. Wherever the cart retrieval guy found this one, he should have left it there." Among other thoughts. I checked out and got back to the car. I packed my items in the trunk and went back inside to wash my hands after returning the cart. After washing 3 times for good measure, I left and went on to my next stop (where I washed my hands yet again- I was feeling how a germaphobic person must feel at this point). Soon, I got home and began to notice the smell was still present in the car. Lo and behold whatever residue or substance this cart had on it transferred to not only my purchased items, but anything I touched prior to washing my hands: my keys, my check book/pen, my trunk's upholstery,etc. So after throwing the product packaging out and spraying the heck out of my things with Lysol to kill whatever was causing the smell, I decided to write this review. I just want Ralph's to know that they really need to monitor what carts are being returned to them, because that was simply unacceptable. Had I smelled that odor before grabbing the cart, I never would've gone near it let alone touch it. I'm not usually one to complain, but someone has to speak up. Either have staffers sanitize carts with antibacterial/viral sprays, or tell these guys bringing carts in on pick-up trucks that carts that are dirty or foul smelling will not be accepted. Not a bad ralph's. I like that they close at 2 am now, but after midnight you deal with the night stocking crew and boxes everywhere. I go there for the great hand made sushi selection by the buffet bar. this ralph's also has the best beer selction and micro brew and imported beers or domestic I have seen in the area. thier meat is over priced but usually fresh. asside from the high prices of ralph's in general this is a decent place to go. some of the cashier's though act like they don't want your business like all the other ralph's with bad attitude employees that are older. I miss the days when these places hired younger people. Otherwise its a bigger ralph's with fresher products and worth the drive sometimes. read more

I stopped by Ralph's to pick up some pre made sushi. I usually get the California Salad Roll, however in the thirty plus available packages there isn't anything that's not spicy. The guy that usually makes the sushi had left about 10 minutes prior so I couldn't have him make me one. This is very inconsiderate to those who are allergic or sensitive to spicy food. Not everyone likes or can eat spicy food. All I ask is just one or two non spicy choices outside of thirty spicy ones. read more

Well-stocked but lacking in service and the deli-section. I usually order the power house turkey sandwich at Ralph's. It's a set sandwich on their menu, but Ralph's is fine with substitutions since it's the same price as their custom sandwiches. This location lacked ingredients. They didn't have sprouts (listed as one of the ingredients). Employee was also far from friendly, looking as if she hated life. She really didn't care if she had given me the right sandwich. Otherwise, I thought it was nice that they had a wide array of kosher goods in the bakery section. read more

This review for the DELI department ONLY. The cashiers and manager here are terrific, fast and courteous. The US Bank personnel are awesome. The deli people on this date 05/29/2020 need more training. I understand that with today's situation, many people will call in an order, or fax or put an order in online. But someone needs to address the actual customers in the store too. My wife and I were in line behind ONE person, I asked her if they were using numbers, she said she didn't know but you better take one because she had been waiting a long time for a online order. About 10 minutes later we were bumped up to first in line, with only one person behind is. Not knowing exactly where to stand, we got closer to the counter so they could see us since the top of the counter kind of blocks their view. Both the girls were feverishly slicing meats and talking to each other. We waited and waited, no once acknowledged that we were there or to stay we will be right with you. Finally one of the gals turns around to put the meat back in the refrigerator section, right in front of me, I made eye contact and nothing, not a word. I patiently waited about 10 more minutes and finally just left. WORSE SERVICE EVER. My only other complaint with this store is navigation. It is too congested and crowed with products. In these days of social distancing I don't see the need for the aisles to be loaded with so much stuff! With masks on and it makes it more difficult. And with the cart speeders I had no less than 5 'pardon me' or 'excuse me' before I was run over. Just a bad day I suppose. Again 5 stars for the cashiers/clerks/manager/USBank. read more

Kind of had high expectations for this location as it looks big and new from the outside. Inside it's nice and clean, but I didn't find inventory that went outside of the typical Ralph's fare. In fact I found them lacking in the same departments they usually do (milk, nuts, popcorn). Place was clean and the staff was friendly, but nothing to warrant a rating above 3 stars. read more
