Love this Raleys. It's a little pricier than Safeway and Luckys but when they have a sale, they have a great sale. Just got baby back ribs uncooked, whole slab for $6!!! Insane. Raleys always has a great deli and bakery as well as their meat selection. Lots of wines and just really well stocked. Staff is always friendly and helpful. This place is amazing! It's very close to where I work and therefore super convenient when it comes to buying some lunch. They have a really great variety of pasta salads or just meals over all. They even come in a container that is microwavable. They also have sushi and sandwhiches premade or you can go to thei sandwhich section and order a fresh one there. Takes a little while to make so if you are more on the go just grab their premade ones. And just like any other supermarket they have their different sections like deli, bakery, pharmacy, etc. They even have a Rewards program that you can sign up for and get coupons sent to you. I like that they have self check-outs. Makes it easy when im on limited time. There is a Pete's coffee inside as well if you need a quick cup of joe. I have always been a fan of Nob Hill and when I moved to Pleasanton, Raley's seemed like a good alternative. I love it there, because I can find all of the health food and the organic stuff I am used to buying. The prices are comparable to any where else. Health foods and organic are pricier, but that is not Raley's fault. I have to admit that Safeway does have better quality meat and better cuts too, but their meat is not bad either. In the bakery department the kids get a free cookie and in the balloon department they get free balloons. Nothing beats that :) I like to shop there knowing that I will get good quality items and happy kids. The staff is friendly and helpful. read more

Don't live in Pleasanton but was going thru and had a $4 Nob Hill Catalina coupon expiring today. I read these reviews yesterday trying to determine if they have self-checkout. They do. which I like Didn't have an item supposed to be free with $20 purchase and that messed up my plans so I'm only giving 4 stars. Only saw produce, deli and wine dept. Believe it or not a shopping experience here is actually relaxing, and shopping is my least favourite chore. Everyone is friendly and seems to genuinely care whether or not I find what I'm looking for. Even better, their associates know their products and their placement. I once asked a guy who was putting carrots on the shelf if he knew where the jicama was. He said, "This isn't my usual store but let's look. If we've got it, we'll find it." Sure enough we walked right to it. I can imagine in most places they would say, "What's jicama?" and then look at me with a blank stare. The people in their meat department are also just as knowledgeable and helpful. If there isn't a cut of meat on the shelf that you are looking for they'll cut it for you. They even offer to sharpen your knives when you need it. Also, I've never waited in line for more than one person in front of me at the checkout. There was an incident once where my jumbo shrimp were rung up as rock lobster by accident; but, I almost don't want to bring it up because the manager addressed the situation with such grace. Accidents happen, but it's what happens afterward that shows you people's true colours. They seem to really value my time and patronage, so I will keep coming back even though it takes me 20 minutes to get there. read more

I used to live in Pleasanton, and when I visited a friend here, we decided to bake. We head to Raleys to pick up a couple missing ingredients. Wow, I love their renovation. No harsh fluorescent lights, no boring linoleum tiles. Its calm atmosphere, semi-dimly lit aisles, and a sense of comfort will make me smile every time I shop there. I like this supermarket! I'm a frequenter of their deli. I highly enjoy the whole wheat pasta salad with spinach and garlic (which is even yummier when mixed with their tri-color tortellini). They also have this pasta salad with peas and prosciutto that I just recently discovered. The Mediterranean orzo salad is yummy too. I'm obsessed with pasta. However, when I'm not in a pasta mood, I am in love with the Santa Cruz sub-sandwich (turkey and avocado mm). And I indulge in the occasional donut, cookie or bag of chips. I also like that there's a Wells Fargo ATM inside (cause that's MAH BANK!) and that it's a 5-10 minute walk from work. read more

AWSOME.......What use to take me 3 to 4 hours to shop for Grocerys Before I would have to make a list, and find my keys, wallet, and sunglasses. After I found those items I headed to my car where the temp in the to car was 110 degrees and not enough gas in the car to make it round trip.. Someone did not fill the car after the used it. Hmmm..Finally off to the store to play bumper carts with 100 other grumpy shoppers. When I shop, I shop for the month. The basket is usually boiling over and im looking for a second cart. Mean while im getting those looks from the people behind me. Now back out to the oven (car) at 110 inside the car..That goes great with ice cream. With 11/2 carts of groceries that are cooking I am on the way home to unload all of it. Now im one of those grumpy shoppers,,, Now iI sit at my desk...Get on my computer and order threw Raley"s online..This has been the best thing yet. No more hot cars with no gas and grumpy shoppers. It saves me 3 hours month....And when they say they will be there at 10 am they are there....always on time Great system read more

The Pleasanton Raleys has grown into its remodel nicely. The new fish and meat department is excellent and the guys that staff it are fun to talk with, they know their meat and fish about as well as any butcher you'll encounter. I still have fond memories of the week they put porthouse steaks on special... The expanded produce department is also great and I like the deals they are always having...one week I get mangos for 33 cents, another week its a quart of blueberries, 2 for $8...really top notch. Very nice deli and hot foods section as well, fresh chinese food, deli sandwiches, chicken wings are all well-represented. I think my favorite thing is still the craft soda section. I don't drink so the whole microbrew, wine snob thing has passed me by...but hey, they've got craft soda! They've also installed a Peet's coffee which I like. read more

Wow, everything about this grocery store is fantastic with the exception of just a few things: Expensive...but worth it for the shopping experience. I'd love to have store like this where I live. This is the only grocery store that carries my favorite two-bite blueberry scones and for that, I rate this chain five stars! Whole Foods carries two flavors of the two-bite scones, but not the blueberry one to my dismay. They also sold Arizona Green Tea by the cans for 69 cents each last time I was there. Safeway sells the canned versions at 89 cents each and they are usually out of the original Green Tea one. The overall atmosphere of the store is a bit meek and old though. I'd suggest them to modernize their designs and brightened up the mood with some stronger lights. read more

I must admit that I am a Safeway girl at heart, I just have always had one close to me and that was my store. Since moving to Pleasanton I started going to Raley's because it was a tad closer to my house as well as they had a pharmacy. The recent remodel was a huge improvement and added to me liking this store even more and to shopping there exclusively. THEN I tried their deli and was in love. It may have been my pregnancy cravings but I went to the deli everyday for a rotisserie chicken sandwich. All of the ladies in the deli were so nice and always pleasant. So now I saw the fancy little eCart aisle in the parking lot and was intrigued. I looked it up on-line and decided to give it a try. I am now an eCart regular. It is AMAZING. Shop on-line, buy whatever you want and add to your eCart. Select a time to pick up your groceries and you drive thru! The wonderful eCart ladies will bring the groceries to your car! Kids in tow it is the most amazing shopping experience. So all in all I love this Raley's! read more

Worst service ever in the history of my life! I wish I could give ZERO stars. The women at the deli are very rude. My husband and I walked in to have a tritip sandwich today. My husband grabbed a tritip container and asked the woman there to make our sandwiches from the tritip in the container (mind you we were going to purchase the whole container). The woman became upset and said next time "she couldn't do that" because they already have tritip that is sliced there for sanwiches. Then when we selected the bread she slammed the container where the bread is stored very hard as if she was annoyed. As she was slicing the bread she was so irate she cut her finger and had to call another lady out to finish our sandwich. Another gentlemen walked in to order a sandwich and wanted tritip too. They didn't even have sliced tritip to make his sandwich so the other lady making his sandwich grabbed some of the tritip from our container to make his sandwich which makes no sense at all because they said they couldn't do that in the first place! Then the lady who helped us began helping someone else so we sat down and ate our food and decided we would pay when we were done eating since we only get a 30 minute lunch. When we were ready to pay the lady who cut her finger was at the counter and told my husband very rudely we needed to pay before eating our food. But how could we do that if the lady started helping someone else? What did she think we were going to leave without paying? How ridiculous. If she thinks she's too old to be working at a store making sandwiches maybe she should retire or stay home! The sandwich we ate was very good but the service is mediocre! read more

Ok, I haven't shopped here as a grocery store, I'm from out of town, so this review is for their deli. They make the BEST sandwiches. Seriously, go there for lunch today. The bread is amazing, there is a wide variety of ingredients and the women I've had there are some of the nicest people ever. Plenty of chips and drinks all around too or grab a banana from the produce section behind you and you've got the perfect lunch. Truly a hidden gem. read more

I haven't been in this store in about 3 years (maybe more) until yesterday. A lot has changed. The place is completely remodeled now. I was helped twice by two different workers there who were very knowledgeable. I happened to have the person who was in charge of ordering items for their department help me, and she knew right away that they didn't have the item. She also knew what stores in the area would and wouldn't have it. I always liked Safeway, and still do, but these employees seem like they love helping the customer and are here at Raley's for the long run. read more

Raley's is the best grocery store in the area, the produce is top tier and the store itself is one of the nicest in the area. The bakery has some of the best cakes and the deli has awesome sandwiches. The prices are higher than Safeway but not as expensive as Whole Foods. The organic produce section is small but the prices are really comparable to the non-organic produce. I shop here all the time and the store always looks nice. Five dollar Mondays are pretty great too, you get a good deal on products that usually cost a lot more. read more

Excellent service at this Pleasanton Raleys from cashier to meat & vegetable dept, with healthy fresh fruits like banana , apples for your kids at the entrance and wipes for the carts. Great reward program too. The other supermarkets in this area can't compare with this Raleys' & staffs. Especially Steve from the meat dept and Jethro fr the vegetables section. Been going to Raley's since I was just a kid. Back then and up until recently, the store was a little run down, but always had a great selection and a killer deli area. They have a meat department, place to get a sammy, chinese food, hot deli, etc. It had been a while since I shopped there, but the last time I did, I noticed a HUGE change. They completely renovated the interior and the improvement is tenfold. The store looks much bigger, much more up to date and actually makes you want to come back to shop there again. if this Raley's was in a more centralized location of Pleasanton, it would be a much more popular place to shop. Until then, it's kind of a hidden gem for those in southeast Pleasanton. read more

The reason I go to this store is because the workers are so respectful and nice, Including a guy named Dave, coolest guy i ever met IMO, walked with me to find everything i needed and couldnt find. They also have a very tasty bakery department, coffee shop, and deli. With friendly employees, wide open aisles, great produce, a new organic line called "Full Circle" and new "Artisan Breads" - what's not to love? Sure it's a little drab and could use a major makeover, but I hear this is coming soon! I recently converted from a loyal TJ's and SWY shopper. At Raley's I'm much more relaxed and enjoy shopping again - no climbing over other shoppers or parking lot brawls. In my opinion, it's supermarket nirvana. I say, let's support the old girl by shopping here (and maybe they'll hurry along that renovation). Just trying to buy some sprinkles to decorate Christmas cookies and this employee was working very hard at organizing all the frosting and what not. Her stomach was right up against the sprinkles, so I said excuse me several times trying to be polite and STILL had to reach up against her trying not to touch her stomach, it was more awkward than offensive, so I waited. When she left I walked back over and she came BACK and pressed her stomach against the sprinkles once more reaching for the shelves above. All I needed was two seconds to grab what I needed. SO ridiculous. Lol, what a turd of a person to purposely block sprinkles. read more

This is an exceptional grocery store. I love that they have all of the regular grocery selection PLUS they have a great NATURAL FOODS section with a good selection of bulk items, gluten free choices, dairy free choices, lots of organic produce and products. Also an aisle with some hardware, camping items, household goods, cleaning supplies, books, magazines, etc. They also have something called E-CART where you go online and select your groceries. They pick it out, bag it and when you pull up to the drive through spot, you push a button and they bring it out to you. They put it in your trunk, swipe your debit/credit card and 'voila!' drive home. It takes about 5 minutes to pick up groceries. Great for Mom's with nappers... or folks at work - who want to shop on their lunch hour and pick it up after work. read more
