Placed an online order yesterday at 525. Was called about 10 mins later saying they couldn't fulfill my order because they closed early. They say online they close at 6pm. The order was paid for online and was $57. I asked how they would refund me. She said she couldn't do it online and I would have to come pick up my refund. I explained I live 20mins away and I was not coming out of my way to get a refund that I paid electronically and asked for the manager. She then pretended not to be able to hear me and acted like the connection was bad and hung up. I tried to call back immediately and no answer. Not even a call back! I left a vm for the manager and they still haven't called me and they aren't open until Thursday! read more

I adore ramen and was thrilled to finally have a place in the Valley that served tonkotsu, but was very disappointed with my experience. Started with the calamari and seaweed salad. Calamari was very overcooked and chewy, seaweed salad was fine. My SO and I both ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen. Both were served lukewarm at best, noodles were uncooked. Service was inattentive (and it wasn't because they were busy) or I would have asked to have them warmed up. The broth flavor was decent which is the only reason it gets two stars and not one. With tip it was a $60 dinner and the experience wasn't worth half that IMO. read more

I went to Rakkii Ramen for the first time for lunch during their soft open stage. I was pleased by everything I experienced. I was provided with good service and was seated quickly. The atmosphere of the restaurant is clean and orderly. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen. The presentation of the bowl was very nice. The broth was flavorful and balanced with fats on the surface of the soup. The ajitsuke egg was colored perfectly with a tender exterior and a very soft yolk, perfect. The bamboo was soft, yet still had a bit of crunch which is good. The only complaint that I have about this ramen is the chashu pork. The chashu was dry, a bit too thin for my preference, and was tough and chewy. This may be their style, or may even be an issue during the soft opening. But with my ramen, I prefer the chashu pork to be juicy, at least a quarter of an inch thick, and tender enough to fall apart when you bite into it. Other than the chashu pork which I hope they improve upon, I was happy with my visit to Rakkii Ramen. read more

I'm editing my post from 5 stars down to 2 stars because as rich as the ramen was, I'm a bit miffed at the fact that a couple of weeks prior to my 2nd visit, I had asked if the front of house if they had a wheelchair ramp. The FOH stated that they didn't but they are looking it into it in the next couple of weeks. Came back in a few weeks later and no ramp was provided again. None of the wait staff had offered to help and I ended up having to ask to help carry my friend into the restaurant. We ended up not even attempting to enter the restaurant and went to zest bar & grille next door instead, which is 100% ADA compliant. Businesses are obligated to reasonably accommodate patrons and ensure their safety is a priority. It is also 100% illegal to not have any accommodations and can be punishable by a hefty fine by the ADA. There is no excuse for it. It's not too small. There's no infrastructure that needs to be renovated, if there's a "grandfathered clause". There's no such thing such as a grandfathered clause, by the way. Businesses are still required to have their establishments accessible. You are literally just placing a ramp in front of your threshold, provided that you measure correctly. Nawab, an Indian restaurant not even half a street away, is smaller than this establishment and still managed to have a removable wheelchair ramp for access. I don't understand why it is so difficult for brand new businesses on Southside Bethlehem to go onto Amazon and get a $100 wheelchair ramp that can fold up and be put to the side whenever someone with a physical disability requires it. C'mon, guys. It's 2019. My best friend has the right to have basic access to a business just like everybody else. Please just take 20 minutes of your time to measure the threshold of your entrance and purchase a portable wheelchair ramp for your patrons with disabilities. It just was not good. We were the first customers in there and the staff was very friendly. We ordered two different types of ramen. Presentation was lovely. The flavor profile was just nonexistent. Neither one had any flavor, just an overpowering taste of grease. Additionally, our meals were not very hot. We politely ate a few bites to give it a chance, paid, and went somewhere else to eat. I was really excited for this place to come to the Lehigh area and could not wait to try it. I went with a group of 5 at around 6:15 and was told the wait would be 30 min. We were then told that we could not wait inside the restaurant so we had to stand outside in the cold. We called to check in after 30 min and were told it would be 20-30 more minutes. When that time had passed we went back to the restaurant to check on our status and were told that there was still no table for us even though people with similarly sized parties who had arrived after us were seated, and it was still not possible for us to wait inside the restaurant and we would have to wait outside for an unspecified amount of time (in the below freezing weather). We were finally seated after an hour and a half. In the future, it would be better to have more than one table that could potentially seat 5 people or have been more reasonably prepared instead of waiting an hour longer than we were told. The food was good, but not worth the experience. I understand this is a new restaurant but it was really disappointing to have such a negative experience at a place that I had been waiting to open! read more

Disappointing... when we got there I was told we could be seated. After the hostess spoke with the owner, we were told we had to wait 40 min, even though there were tables available. Not sure what the reason was.... suspecting it was because my husband I had our 8 year old son with us and they were not interested in serving children .Won't try and go back. After reading other reviews, it may be that was husband was black and my children are biracial. Didn't think this kind of racism still existed in Bethlehem. So sad! Scrum-diliocious indeed! At first glance this place had me underestimating the type of quality food they dished out oh so beautifully. I had a bowl of Spicy miso, and let me tell you, my Spanish ancestors couldn't possibly be more proud! I have never experienced such tingly sensations throughout the entirety of my body before, but then again that could possibly just be due to such luscious looking crew. Unless you like being told to wait outside in the cold for your table to be ready, I highly suggest you skip this place. We have been to the Rakkii Ramen location in Smithtown, New York and it was much better service and food. When we went on Saturday night, the restaurant was busy and we were told to "wait outside" in the 25 degree winter temperature while we waited for our table.... like really? We of course we didn't do that, and neither did any other party that came in after us and were told the same thing! If you're going to tell your customers to wait outside in the COLD, you need to invest in a waiting bay, like every other restaurant in cities that are busy. The customer service is extremely unprofessional and we will not be back. read more

I realize that this is still a soft opening. I was really pumped for a Ramen restaurant in Bethlehem. However, I can't agree with the other reviews. It was not the best Ramen in the valley. It was just okay. The menu provided poor descriptions of the food(lacked protein info). The Before Noodle Gyoza was very good with a tasty dipping sauce. Things were good! Then the Ramen arrived and things deflated from that point. Armed with sticks and ladle negotiating large pieces of pork was not easy. I ordered the Spicy Tonkotsu Miso and it wasn't spicy at all(disappointing). I am no expert in Ramen, but I had better food experiences at the Other Fish(Bethlehem) and Mr. Lees(Easton). Sorry, I really wanted to be more positive. I will try again in the near future and update. read more

My best friend and I came in like ten minutes before they closed (don't do that, please) and they were polite and served us as if we hadn't been dumb about the time we came in. We sat at the bar and chatted with one of the cooks, whom seemed genuinely friendly and kind. My friend ordered the miso ramen and I got the veggie ramen. It was, as we expected, perfect. The broth was yummy and nothing was too salty, which I really liked. We ended up having strawberry mochi for dessert and literally moaned when we tried it (lol) it was freakin' delicious. I must also add that the lychee Japanese iced tea was like sipping subtle tasting bubble tea. I love this place and am definitely having dreams about it. This is the review by a 9-year-old boy: I have tried many noodles: ramen, homemade, farfalle, chicken noodle soup, etc. I usually tried for a bit (or spoonful) and then stop. Rarely made it halfway through the bowl. Rakii Ramen changed all that. On Christmas day, I was invited there for dinner. I ordered the Miso noodle. (The actual name is longer; if you're not a fan of spicy food, ask for no sauce!) When the noodle came, I had doubts about the taste. I first took a small bite of the corn and the meat. Then I tasted the soup. Then the noodles. Using my wood ladle, I scooped mouthfuls of noodles and soup and veggies into my mouth, and I couldn't stop until I was full. My parents were shocked. I would definitely recommend Rakii Ramen to everyone. read more

This places charges NYC prices for Maruchan. I'm not sure what kind of raccoon based towels they use to dry off the glasses and spoons but there were tiny hairs on all my utensils and cups. Each bowl of ramen comes loaded with saffron which is cool, except it does nothing to the taste and only adds to the price (bowel of ramen is $15). I've had better ramen from a package tbh. Another great Ramen shop! Me and my coworkers stop by for ramen. All of use enjoy it, very much. The design of the restaurant it's really cool (most see in person guys!) I love their soup, not salty or heavy taste. Noodle are prefect, texture was just right. I finish the bowl in 10-15mins. I really like their topping, corn, sliced meat, sliced Naruto (prefect, you should try), good job on the eggs! First ramen shop makes me want to have second bowl after the finishing the first. I think it's cuz it's not salty or heavy soup. Price it's better than a lot of ramen shop in nyc, but can taste better than a lot of ramen shop there. This was so flavorful! Cool atmosphere and friendly service! We ordered the Gyoza which was the best I've ever had. The SukiYaki Udon, it's enough for two meals!
