Simply amazing... While most people were indulging in Sunday brunch, my girlfriend wanted Chinese food. As we drove, she read the description for U & TEA and we knew we had to go. The place is clean with plenty of room and great lighting -- and the entire establishment is food focused. Our server helped with teas and plates and we placed our orders. My girlfriend got sweet and sour chicken for her main meal. It was obvious the food was fresh and the dish had been cooked in fresh oil (and only for a short amount of time). The sauce was delicate and subtle, which allowed the flavor of the tender chicken to shine through. And what a plate! She ended up having leftovers for two days. Although I normally order seafood, I love duck and have it once or twice a year. From the menu, their duck dishes looked fantastic. Our server recommended the Peking Duck, which I had always wanted to try. That dish brought Alice Gatsch with it. She is kind and engaging and introduced how I should properly eat Peking Duck. She walked be through the steps of how to prepare the buns with scallion, cilantro, and sauce. I wish I could convey how tender the duck was and how crispy the skin had been. It was incredible and I somehow cleared my plate (and didn't eat for the rest of the day). We cannot wait to return. I got U & Tea for takeout, I didn't eat at the restaurant, but everyone was very nice when I went to pick up my order. The stir fried string beans and chicken ho fun noodles were delicious. The noodles were such a good texture and both were seasoned perfectly. I definitely recommend this restaurant! Every dish is authentically crafted with the freshest ingredients. I haven't encountered another Chinese restaurant that even compares. My last visit I ordered lamb skewers, braised beef noodle soup, spicy peanut chicken, and general Tso's chicken. Everything was wonderful and came out in record time. Food, as always, so very delicious. Service is usually excellent but the hostess was rude several times and made me feel so uncomfortable I may not return. I came in behind a couple & waited to be seated. While waiting to be seated I saw a sign warning that cars parked in parking lot across street would be towed so I went to move my car. When I came back, I stood a few minutes waiting for hostess to acknowledge me & she didn't. I greeted her since she didn't look up. She was making a drink and told me to wait. I did. The place was pretty empty and there were several small tables by the door so after waiting a few more minutes I asked if I could sit at one of them. She looked annoyed and tossed the menu my way. She was clearly upset with me wanting to sit down, never welcomed me or said a single word of greeting like "your waitress will be over shortly" ... just grumpy! The waitress who took my order and served was far more gracious & kind. This is my usual experience here. There was 7-8 other customers (at 3 other tables) in the dining area that can sit 40-50 & 3 waitresses. Food delivery was prompt but no one came back to give me a bill or box for my food in the 20 minutes I sat there. I tried getting someone's attention several times and finally called out "excuse me" to the hostess watching a tablet screen at the front desk. She looked annoyed when I asked for a check. "You can pay here" she blurted out at me pointing at the front desk, then put her face back into the screen. I didn't have a check to pay, so I was confused. I also needed a box for my food & told her so, at this point having to speak loudly across the restaurant because she wouldn't get up to come speak to me or get my waitress for me. She didn't hear me (or pretended not to understand my request 2x). Then She told me "She will bring you a box!" In an irritated tone, and turned away again! I explained I'd been waiting a few minutes and needed someone to get my waitress so I could ask for a box & a bill. In a huff, she stood up and marched into the kitchen to get me a box. I thanked her loudly for her "kind assistance"! She was so prickly when she dropped off the boxes (still no check) that I didn't even make eye contact with her or thank her. A moment later my waitress wandered by and I asked for a bill. She went to the front cash register and printed one out. The hostess could have done that I assume, but did not? Why? I gave my card and the waitress rang me out politely, brought me a bag, and kindly wished me a nice day. The hostess made no eye contact and went back to her screen. Nice cozy place in Bethlehem. Menu is different (in a good way) from your traditional Chinese place. We started off with soup buns and shrimp pot stickers. Both came out quickly, hot and very good. Our 4 entrees were General Tso chicken, seafood noodle soup, teriyaki chicken and chicken hu. All came with white rice. Excellent flavors and large portions. I'm gonna be honest, I'm starting to notice you can't trust reviews on food in the Lehigh valley area because they don't know good food! Nice staff and service but the food lacked flavor. The fried rice looks like white rice with no taste and barely any shrimps , the chicken wings that aren't even whole wings weren't crunchy or flavorful . The broccoli in brown was bland ! I probably won't ever try this place again and stick to the one Chinese food place I do like in Lehigh valley . Came here with family during early weekday afternoon and was immediately greeted and seated. The menu was expansive and we ordered a quite a few dishes: (will update with names later). The food? ALL of them were flavorful. Eggplant was tender but not mushy, chicken was delicious, fried rice was well seasoned, milk tea was good, and the fried buns were made fresh to order. We devoured a bunch but still had enough for leftovers. The amount of food for the price was worth it and the service was great, they kept checking in on us (though we were one of 3 groups there). I came here for the first time over this past year. I can't believe I never tried it before! The ambiance is so cute. I came with a party of 6 and we sat at a table where the middle spinned so it was so fun to share food and spin the table. I have had some appetizers, basil chicken, general tsos, fried rice. The food was actually incredible. I got the spicy beef with some rice. Meat was seasoned perfectly. We also got the sweet buns with the sweetened condensed milk. Wow. So freaking good. The waitress was very nice, and helped my sister and I pick what we should get. The food was out in literally a matter of minutes. This is an authentic Chinese restaurant located on south side of Bethlehem. Crab Fried Rice was so good we couldn't stop eating it. Its location is in a somewhat dismal part of the city, but that is of little importance, due to not only the deliciousness of its offerings, but also the very reasonable prices. I have eaten Chinese cooking across the world, and this was best offerings I have experienced in the US. There are a couple of drawbacks: the decor is only okay, the one waitress on duty was forced to deal with at least eight tables, and the noise level was punishing. THIS PLACE IS FIREEEE! This place has the most authentic Chinese food in Bethlehem that I have tasted so far. My favorite dish here, for now, is the Braised Pork Ribs. It reminds me of a dish known as "Pai Kuat Fan" in Cantonese cuisine. The sauce that it is in is suBLIME. You can just taste the five-spice in there and it just makes you more and more hungry as you eat it. As you can tell, it was easily part of the clean plate club because it was so damn good. I have also had this dish as take-out and it is still equally as good. In fact, it feels like there is more sauce when they give it to you in take-out. So good. Words cannot describe. String beans were excellent. Normally I do not like string beans specifically but the way it is cooked and the slightly spicy oil that coats it is literal flames. It is cooked with onions which obviously just makes the dish better. The Shrimp Wonton soup was so clean. It is just such a clear and clean broth that the wontons bathe in. It has tasty bok choy. The wontons were cooked perfectly. The Spare Ribs Clay Pot was great. The only down side of this dish is that I just kept wanting to eat but kept burning myself because of how hot this dish stays when it comes out. When you get this, they give you a special clay pot sauce on the side. It just tastes like sweet soy sauce but it is damn perfect paired with this dish. The rice is crisp on the bottom because of the heat. It is like the Socarrat in Paella. It is known as "fan chiu" in cantonese. I am so happy that there is a Chinese place like this here in Bethlehem. This is the first place I am going to bring them when they visit. Also, to top it all off the service is awesome. The waitress was so nice. I have only been there 4 separate times but she recognizes me when I walk in haha. I am not going to rate each dish individually everything here is an 11/10 11/10 would recommend and definitely be coming back very often haha. PLEASE TRY THIS PLACE! (We ordered WAY too much food but the Yelp photos were too tempting!) There were lots of Lehigh kids dining and the server asked us if we were there for a college visit. When we said we were, she told us about the kids that come to eat every weekend. She checked back on us often and said she hoped to see us next year. My regular cheap eats were closed so I ended up at U & Tea for takeout. Food was fresh and different than the regular local Chinese places. College students were waiting for their order and a more mature couple came and were treated like long-lost relatives. Both were good signs. I had Steam Pork dumplings and Chicken Skewers (appetizers), Dapeng Mei Fun (stir-fried Seafood with thin noodles) and Stir-Fired Vegetables. All were very tasty. Counter lady was extremely friendly and helpful. Looks like a good place to sit and dine. My only half-star takeoff is that I like to order Singapore Chow Mei Fun on my first order in a new (for me) Chinese place.
