We love ramen and were very excited to finally have a chance to eat here. We arrived a few minutes early, but the staff said we could take a seat. The interior design is very modern/rustic and has very nice relaxing lighting. They were listening to AJJ when we entered, but then switched to some mellow triphop type music. We really liked the decor and ambiance, overall very relaxing and comfortable space. Ample seating available. They have smaller tables, booths, bar seating and a spot with a cushion L spaced bench. The space could easily accommodate larger parties of people. For food we ordered the karaage chicken as an appetizer, a tonkatsu ramen and a spicy ramen. All of the food was delicious! The chicken was so juicy and we loved it with the lemon and the dipping sauce was spicy and very flavorful. The tonkatsu ramen came with straight noodles that reminded me of soba noodles. The spicy miso had the wavy style noodles. Both were very good! We would definitely recommend this restaurant and will return! Service was amazing! Everyone was so polite and helpful! 3.5 stars but I bumped it up to 4 stars. My boyfriend and I got the Tonkotsu ramen and Spicy miso ramen respectively. The tonkotsu ramen was a little on the salty side and the spicy miso ramen was not as spicy as I thought but both the ramen tasted better than I expected- definitely way better than Mister Lee's Noodles in Easton. However, as a Japanese from an area famous for tonkotsu ramen, it was still a little bit disappointing that they would put things that are normally not in tonkotsu ramen like the narutomaki and menma (bamboo shoots). The presentation of the ramen was subpar as well- in Japanese food, presentation is very important. Also, the noren (fabric dividers) by the bathrooms had mistakes in the Japanese characters used. Yes, it is in Bethlehem so I shouldn't expect that much authenticity, but if Rakkii Ramen is trying to sell a decent authentic Japanese ramen experience at a higher price, I would expect better from them. Would I come back? Maybe but not anytime soon since I can easily go to nyc and get a bowl of decent ramen at a cheaper price. read more

So sorry there is no lesser rating than one star. Just drove in from New York and felt like Ramen but what I didn't know is that they don't serve colored folks here. When we walked in, the greeter deliberated before telling us we would have to wait for an hour for a seat. I looked around and noted there were several available seats and no one waiting to be seated. I also noted a few empty seats at the bar and asked if we could sit there. The greeter hesitated looked down at a sheet of paper and said no they are not available. I asked him if they took reservations and his response was no. I was quite confused at this point so as we walked to the car I called the restaurant and asked if they took reservations. The person on the phone said " no, just come on in we actually have a few seats available now" imagine my anger. Hey Rakkii Ramen you guys should just post it on the door that you do not serve everyone. Racist Racist Racist. I am actually from the islands and own a restaurant and a food manufacturing business in New Jersey and this was my first brush with this awful behavior. What perplexes me is that this seems to be a minority owned business. You must believe I will be posting this experience everywhere and might just be back with a large party including some of my Asian business associates and friends. Really 3 1/2 stars which is based on take out experience. I went once around when they first opened and the experience wasn't that great. We were tucked in a corner and forgotten about for over 30 minutes before we even got our orders taken. Outside of that I decided to get take out from them because I figured I didn't have to deal with the service anymore. The food itself is alright. A little pricy but if you're in the mood for B / B+ grade ramen it'll do just fine. I've ordered from there twice and have gotten the same Miso Ramen both times. I think the one time they gave me the Spicy Miso Ramen by mistake which is fine because it's actually a lot better than the normal one and it's what I would recommend getting now. Their takeout ramen is in one very nifty bowl that keeps the other ingredients spectate from the broth which is nice. Our waiter Brian, and other servers, were extremely attentive to our meal, consistently checking in and making sure everything turned out alright. I would say, for a soft opening, it was very well done. The minor issues that we encountered (spicy miso could use some more heat, more developed flavor from the chashu buns, and the miso broth a little too salty to taste) could easily be overcome by a fully established restaurant. I will definitely be back when they are officially open and will certainly bring more friends and family to a new and exciting ramen place in the Lehigh Valley. I have been waiting for... YEARS.... for a legitimate ramen restaurant to come to the Lehigh Valley. I was so hopeful for Rakkii Ramen. And... It did not disappoint. The food was EXCELLENT, the service was stellar and the random 90's music mix made the atmosphere nostalgic and fun. The menu isn't expansive but the items on the menu can easily hold their own. And let's face it: we'd rather have a restsurant that can do a few things quite well than many things sub-par. Make a reservation, to pass the wait by, and go. We came early on a Friday evening before 6pm and there was already a line forming outside. Noodle houses are pretty common in large cities but now we in the Lehigh Valley have options! Both my husband and I had the spicy miso ramen and it was outstanding...not too hot but with a definite kick. Appetizers were the pork buns and an order of gyoza (dumplings) and they were also delicious! The decor is simple and attractive and although small, it's a pleasure to dine there. The ramen has a great thick rich broth, and the noodles have a fantastic clean texture. The atmosphere makes you feel like you're in a NYC Midtown restraunt, instead of godforsaken Bethlehem. I just got the vegetable ramen and it hit my soul. This place is soooo Goood I'm not sure why it only gets 3.5 stars it is 100 percent 5 stars. I really enjoyed my visit here. I'm happy to have a ramen restaurant so close to where I live. I look forward to seeing this place grow and I sincerely hopes it succeeds. The actual ramen was very tasty. Delicious broth, and I loved the black garlic oil. All the toppings were great. I enjoyed the noodles, however the broth itself wasn't very warm compared to other ramen I've had that is usually served piping hot. My friend got the chicken wings app that were the biggest wings we've ever seen. Unfortunately he did not enjoy them, but I did not taste them myself. We also had the Gyoza. Gyoza is probably one of my favorite foods on the planet. This gyoza was just OK. I say work on the recipe a bit for more flavor and not such a soft almost mushy texture. Try and get them to be crispy on one side. Cons aside, I will be back for the ramen itself. Make sure your staff knows the menu and what the ingredients are. I was very excited to hear there was a ramen place that opened in Bethlehem! I've been waffling on visiting and ordering for a while based upon reviews but I'm glad I tried it out when I had a craving! I got the shoyu ramen with an extra egg and rose lychee Japanese tea. The tea was absolutely amazing -- flavorful, not too sweet and you could easily taste the rose and lychee flavors without them battling for dominance. The shoyu broth is light, easy to drink and isn't overwhelming in flavor. The way they packed the ramen was awesome! They have a container that separates the noodles and broth so it doesn't get soggy during travel. The seasoned eggs were absolutely delicious, the noodle/broth ratio was satisfactory and the pork's flavoring complimented the light broth. My only critique is I wished there was a little more pork. This restaurant is an absolute treasure. We went at the urging of my ramen-obsessed son the day it had opened. The food is simply masterful. Every "slurp" of noodles and broth was amazing. The egg was perfectly jeweled and cooked. We've had ramen in Japan, and this is the kind of high quality ramen you would expect to have there. My son went as far to say that it was better than Japan - and we had a lot of ramen there! The decor is modern and beautiful. The service is VERY friendly and accommodating. Really cool environment and the food is delicious! I decided to go here alone while passing through the area and it wasn't even awkward with their Ramen bar style seating. To start off, I had their cashu buns. They were light and fluffy with a very well seasoned middle. Their dough reminded me of the prok buns I used to eat as a kid :). Then the spicy miso ramen came. Delicious. My favorite part was the soft boiled tea egg, so many places do not do this ingredient justice but Rakkii has it down! They fresh made ramen is some of the best ramen I have on the east coast. My only criticism is that the spicy miso wasn't that spicy (maybe a 2 out of 5). By far the best part of the meal was dessert: black sesame penna cotta. Best dessert I have had. Ever. The textures and flavors make me smile thinking about days later. It is definitely a must have. A friend and I checked this place out at lunch. The place was full at lunch which was the first good sign. After looking over the menu, we both settled on the spicy tonkotsu miso. Service was a little slow, but we had a lot to catch up on. In short, the ramen was very good, but not excellent. The bowl was solid, but the flavors weren't as vibrant as other places I've been in Philly or NYC. In addition, the service and followup was slow. I attribute this to the place being new and expect they will pick up their game. My only minor complaint was the price. Two bowls and 2 cokes were $40. That is steep for a lunch. Nonetheless, I plan to go back in a few weeks to see if they step up their game with experience. If so, I'll follow up the review with an update. On a separate note, several folks have mentioned this is the only ramen joint in the valley, that's not correct. I would compare Rakkii Ramen to Mister Lee's Noodles in the Easton market and think the two places are comparable in many regards although the Rakkii space is more hip and inviting. read more

We have been waiting for Ramen Rakkii to open ever since we heard news about it. Finally went to have dinner and everything was delicious. Bryan was our waiter and did a great job answering our questions, taking orders, supplying us with stemware for our wine (BYOB), and a lighter and dishes for my daughter's birthday cake. For starters we had the edamame - very tasty and addivtive, chasu bao - nice soft bun with a tasty piece of pork, tofu - delicious umami sauce with shitake and button mushrooms, and wings. I didn't try the wings so I won't comment on it. We then had the pork tonkatsu ramen - jammy eggs, tasty chasu, nicely seasoned bamboo shoots, very nice rich pork broth. Ramen was good but not al dente. My son had the spicy ramen and enjoyed it. It was a nice surprise when they brought out a yuzu cheesecake for my daughter even though we had brought a birthday cake.
