We tried to call this place three times before showing up but the phone was busy. No message service, no instructions on how to make a reservation, just a busy signal. Anyway, my wife and I show up and are told it's a fifty minute wait, so we decide to drive to a local restuarant/bar and have a drink. Fifty minutes later we come back and are seated. We each order two rolls, and figure if they're good, we would order another. The waiter, a bearded dude with a beanie, that looks like he should be smoking weed on a lobster boat off the coast of Maine, was nice, but a bit "out there." Anyway, fifty minutes later we are still waiting for our rolls. We are a bit hungery seeing it was now 8PM (we showed up at 6PM, and still no food. So my wife asks the lobsterman where our food was. He said, "we're not quick here" and moved on, fifteen minutes later, our food arrives, and for the most part, the sushi was very good, but waiting over an hour for four rolls is insane. Also, it was a BYOB, so during the long wait they recommended Joe's down the street to get beer. Joe's is cash only, so I had to use their ATM which charged me a $3 service charge, and $17 for a six pack, plus I gave the guy a $3 tip, so it cost me $23 for a six pack of beer. Upon finishing out rolls my wife asked if I wanted to split on more roll. By this time, it was 8:30 and there was no way I was waiting till 9:30 for one more roll. We asked for a check and put our credit card on the table we like to use for air miles. Lobsterman then told us cash only, lol, so I hiked to the nearest 7/11 and paid a $4 service fee. The moral of the story, bring cash, bring your own beer, bring a lot of patience, and you should enjoy your sushi, which was good. Oh yeah, the men's bathroom literally has a toilet that comes up to the middle of my shin. It looks like something you'd see at a preschool for kids. I only had to pee, but for the guys who work there, I have no idea what they do when the have to do #2. SMH. The place is a bit surreal and I will not be going back. read more

Ate here a few months ago, I liked the ambiance of the small restaurant. They keep interesting hours but that's ok. Service was good and food came quick. Fish didn't taste amazing, we have never returned because we've found better sushi spots in the area. Also kinda pricey for what you get. read more

The Other Fish is a hidden gem near Main Street in Bethlehem. We have dined in and had takeout from here many times and are always so happy with the service, ambiance, and everything they offer. Today, we started with the spicy seafood soup, inari with spicy tuna and shrimp tempura, and the black truffle tuna appetizer, which were all delicious. how absolutely delicious!!! came here with my dad and a friend and we were absolutely amazed at how tasty and fresh everything was. the miso soup, seaweed salad, and all the variations of sushi we got was amazing. customer service was excellent; highly recommend sitting at the sushi bar. the owner was the one preparing the sushi, and they're incredibly friendly & make great suggestions (and are also very accommodating and said that if we didn't want anything or wanted substitutions). ambience was great, great for chatting, and great music playing, too! such amazing sushi here, my friend who'd lived in okinawa was amazed, and i live in new york, and i can say this is one of the best sushi places. i also found the prices pretty reasonable for a table of 4. cash or venmo payments only so come prepared! will definitely be returning next time im in the area! read more

Driving up Broad Street in Bethlehem, PA last week I passed this small restaurant that said " Japanese Food". I have had a LOT of Japanese food in my past and there so few really good Asian restaurants in the Valley I decided to try it. Oh my goodness was it GREAT. We split 3 items and were glad we didn't order the house made Ramon. The portions were enormous but the flavor was just outstanding!!! I have never taken home food from a Japanese restaurant in the past because the portions are always so small but last night I did and I can't wait for lunch to finish the best Beef Teriyaki I have ever had!! read more

Staff is really friendly and inviting. Yuri is the MANNNNN ! We got complimentary Thai iced tea since it was a promotion they had, to unleash their new special. Definitely try it! It is super clever and delicious. The dinner environment is awesome and quiet. Had dinner with my handsome fiancé (my hand hurts cause of my diamond). First and foremost I do want to thank the bearded gentleman at The Other Fish for giving me a full refund on my order BUT this was my experience: Sushi is something that I eat on the regular. I live and work in NYC and I know what good quality sushi looks and tastes like. I also know when a restaurant is bs-ing me. I placed an order for 3 people, through grubhub, at 8:45pm. According to the grubhub app, it would take 90-100 minutes to prepare the order. At 9:31pm I called the establishment to ask them when my order would be done, since I am on the same block as the restaurant. They did not seem to know I had placed an order and told me 9:50pm would be the best time for pickup. I arrived at the restaurant at exactly 9:50pm and was given my order with no problem but I noticed the bag was a bit small for the order we placed. Come to find out we were missing 3 rolls and immediately headed back to the restaurant. We told them about the missing roll and told us they couldn't make us more because the cook just threw out the rice. They suggested refunding me for the rolls we were missing but instead a kind, bearded gentleman said they would refund our whole order. My sister and friend were able to have dinner but I was not able to because the rolls that were missing were avocado rolls (I do not consume animal products). Upon inspection, the rolls looked like they were rushed, as they were falling apart when being consumed and not wrapped tightly. My thoughts on The Other Fish: 1. Your prices are ridiculous! I work on the Upper West Side in NYC and can get avocado rolls for $3.50 instead of your $6.00 for some crappy loose, rushed rolls. The most expensive avocado rolls I've had are $5.50 from one of the best Sushi restaurants in NYC and they have the right to charge that because of their presentation, taste, and overall experience. 2. Your preparation time is also ridiculous! On the Upper West Side, I can order 4 avocado rolls, 1 eel avocado roll, 2 California rolls and an order of gyoza that will arrive to me in 30-40 minutes, being delivered to me from only 5 blocks away. You guys can't even get it together with me picking up the order and staying literally next door to the restaurant. Today you produced 5 rolls of my order in an hour, meaning it took you about 12 minutes to create each of those crappy rolls. Get out of here with that 90-100 minute prep time! 3. Your presentation sucks. Styrofoam takeout containers for sushi? Really? Also, your ratio of rice to filling is way off. There is too much rice and it needs to be balanced. Overall experience: Very disappointed. My best friend actually recommended this place and thought I'd love it because of my love for sushi. Don't think I will ever order from here again. read more

A sushi roll with Fritos called 'Drunk on Tuesday'?? Very eccentric, cool hole in the wall. That kind of says it all. Easy parking (street and a lot next door), but as many have said, a super SUPER tight space. We were lucky to get three seats together at the bar on a Friday night. There is one round table at the front...seats about 6. Downfall to the only large table? You're sitting directly at the front door so on a chilly night like tonight, brrrr! The other seating consists of about 4 two-tops lined against the wall directly behind the bar. So sitting at the bar or table, you will be bumped throughout your meal by the servers who are going back and forth through the right 'aisle.' It's literally about 1.5 feet between the backs of anyone seated at the bar and those sitting at the tables. No secret conversations happening here! None of the tightness bothered us though. It is a dive kind of joint. But it's also an experience. To sit at the bar and watch the sushi chef roll his rolls was quite entertaining and a bit educational. Every order was made fresh. As someone who works in food service from time to time, I had a few questions about following code ... But let's leave it at that. Nothing was so bad as to stop me from enjoying the delicious rolls we were served. Our server, Uri, was super. Not much more to say! The young kid who was texting when he should have been getting a table their wine glasses needs to go. The space is way too small to not do your job responsibly. Definitely a cool place to hang with friends, go on a date and even take your 'mature' kids. Our 7-yr-old loves sushi and had a blast at the bar. Not a place I'd bring a child who is younger than 5 though. Not super kid-friendly nor is there space for a high chair of any sort. Get your order for take out in that case. Best sushi I've had in Bethlehem! This is a small, warm, homey feeling restaurant with great sushi. I highly recommend any rolls with Eel (my favorite, so I'm biased) or spicy tuna. Definitely also order a bowl of miso soup... it's the best I've had in a long time! This place is BYO, so you know what to do. The only downside is that it's a very small place (maybe 5 tables and a bar, only one table that can sit more than 2) and gets crowded on weekends. If you're ordering take out during busy time, plan ahead... it could take upwards of 1.5 hrs. It's well worth the wait though!!! Definitely a spot to hit on the north side of Bethlehem! read more

My main complaint and really only complaint here is that it takes FOREVER to get your sushi. It's good sushi but there is another place that literally takes One Third of the time to finish. I'm not even joking, it took one hour and 30 mins to get 4 rolls because I had to extend the meter for parking. They had only one person actually making the sushi while one woman was the waitress and the other guy just prepped maybe? My fiance has been here with a friend before and it took them over two hours to get their rolls (they probably forgot her order) and when she mentioned it they gave a snide remark about how their a small business. Staff seem nice and several "regulars" came in while we were there. Maybe not the most professional with some of their personal conversations with each other that nearby guests can hear. The restaurant is very small. Seats maybe 20-22 people at most and that would be very cramped. Food: - Miso Soup : good, no complaints - Kamakazi Chicken : I wouldn't personally order this again, just felt like cheap battered chicken but the sauce was nice for dipping. - Dino roll and Other fish roll were great, I forget the names of the other two rolls but they were tasty as well. read more

This is my favorite sushi place to visit in Bethlehem. The sushi is really good-I have tried probably half the menu and haven't been disappointed. I also like that this place is BYOB. There is a lot of sushi in the valley similarly priced- but the atmosphere and the people who work here have always been worth returning to! Food and service - 5 stars...physical restaurant- 2 stars. I could hardly fit down the aisle to get to my seat at the sushi bar. I can't see this place seating more than 25 people. Also, for fairly high prices (for the valley) I'd at least expect glassware for the bottle of wine my wife brought. We got plastic wine glasses that were dirty and looked like they came from my 1 year old daughter's kitchen play set. I guess they are going for a sushi "dive" bar feel? As for the food, everything we ordered was delicious and very fresh. I highly recommend the Mr Haas, Double Dragon, and Dino rolls. I would definitely eat the food again, but maybe pick it up, have it delivered, or come back in warmer months when they have outdoor seating. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Bethlehem. The sushi is consistently delicious, but for me, the ramen is the absolute best. It's the kind of dish that's so great you think about it for days after you have it. As other reviewers have mentioned, the restaurant is small. I don't know that you could be over 6 foot tall and be comfortable eating in (but there's always take out). However, the service is great, and the food is great, and the ambiance is funky. After dining there about 5 times, I have no complaints, and I highly suggest giving it a try. read more
