Sushi Set

Kome is one of the best restaurants in the valley in my opinion for sushi, hibachi and drinks. It's def on the the pricier side but worth every penny down to the food, service and vibes. I love going each time!

Noodles were greasy but ok

Very disappointing experience from the beginning with a long unnecessary wait due. Our waitress (middle older aged Asian woman) was snobby, rushed, condescending and not at all attentive to us yet paid lots of attention to neighboring tables. Ambiance was nice but food was mid at best. My daughter who attends Lehigh U nearby chose this place & later said she regretted it and would go back to share highlights with her friends.

Our experience here was overall fantastic! Our waitress Alexxa was kind, attentive and funny in fact everyone involved was the same. What a breath of fresh air. The food I think was the best in the area. The restaurant is very upscale and beautiful. A little chilly but i will say most are like that. We will go back when we are cashed up again.

I have to drop all of the stars bc I was completely disgusted with Justin, the assistant manage. He is very unprofessional. I think he might be a little green. I'm not sure he knows what he's doing. The GM is the person that is responsible for hiring proper assistance so that the restaurant can run smoothly but has FAILED miserably. They should fire Ken, the GM. BEWARE! Do NOT GO TO KOME. Just my professional opinion. I worked in restaurants from the time I was 14 years old until I was 26 years old when I finally got out of the really terrible industry that it is. The profit margins are super slim. As for the bartenders - pretentious & rude. The ambience needs an update. I live in Miami but come here almost 2 times a month. I used to come every single Monday & Tuesday when they had the best bartenders. Mazie is amazing but the other bartender is just terrible - they should fire her & bring back a good crowd again. I have been here probably 500 times. The food is delicious & generally the staff is professional except for JUSTIN, KEN & the bartender with all the tattoos. These people should not be working in the hospitality business. These people find jobs wherever they will have them. They could be friendlier especially for all the money I spend there - this is a DIVE. Management - ZERO stars for Justin & Ken. Shocked to come here and see that I have not reviewed this place. I have been coming here for years. Less frequently since my mom moved out of Coopersburg. This is hands down my favorite Hibachi place. Tonight our server gave us a Japanese beer that wasn't on the menu. He said it is specially made using medieval methods. I of course didn't try it but it was cool to get some history. So you can eat on the Hibachi side or the sit down meal side. I've done both. You also don't have to order hibachi at the grill if you don't want to. But like where is the fun in that? Today I got the calamari hibachi with fried rice. Way too much food but so delicious. Our chef kept putting butter on the grill and shouting "ice cream!" Then he would squirt soy sauce and say "coke a cola!" I hope these chefs are paid well because they are so talented. I love the salad and soup you get with your meal too. The desert was to die for. My wife got the 4 desert sampler. I got the green tea ice cream. I think this is one of those places that as long as we both exist I'll be going here. The non alcoholic cucumber soda was delicious.

The good: the food is uniformly great no matter what you order, and the staff is friendly. The bad: we went at peak hours on a Saturday night, so the place was very busy. 20 minute wait for a table. They forgot our appetizer. They had to be reminded we ordered special genuine $15 wasabi. We had a longish walk to our parking spot. Waitress visits were less frequent than one would want. All the little things that come with being crowded. But the crowds are testimony to the fact that this place is popular, and deservedly so. On a slower night we would have rated it 5 stars.

Sunset roll

The service and ambiance were great as always. My main issue was the Sunset Roll. This is my 4th time getting this roll, and the previous times I've had it were phenomenal. However this time, for a $22 roll, I would expect the usual: a thicker cut of the (over)seared salmon, more crab, and a neater presentation. Instead, I got lots of rice, almonds, and left over pesto from the bottom of the jar :/ I've spoken so highly of Kome to my friends and local online forums for years. Being served a roll with poor craftsmanship was a disappointing experience. Not coming back.

Sushi and sashimi combination $130
Jonathan C.

Outside and neighbor is in great location, right next to AMC movie theater. Parking is also convenient like in the mall. Sitting and atmosphere is clean and modern. Sushi/Sashimi combo was great for $130, compared with Philly. Sashimi cut was fresh and thick cuts. However, miso soup and salad were extra charge with every order and they were so so, so salty, I had to put three bowl of hot water so don't order them. Overall it was good but 14 people including 7 kids were little expensive for over $700. I don't know we will repeat here again.

I wanted to update that this spot is still great. I ordered my regular yellowtail jalapeno app and…read morethe magic roll; fresh and delicious as always. I noticed they had rack of lamb as an appetizer, so I wanted to try it since it is a unique selection; it was fantastic; tender, and it came with a small serving of mashed potatoes, which were also very tasty. Service was excellent as always too!

Food: I got the lunch box. My miso soup was fine, nothing to write home about. I got the shrimp…read moreshumai. There were only 3 and that had me pretty disappointed, but the flavor was on point. Moist inside with a crisp outer shell. Then the crispy calamari. A peppery batter and the inside was tender, not chewy. The portions for this were perfect, not too much, but a fair appetizer size. I finished off with the shrimp teriyaki. This was served on a bed of shredded vegetables and a side of rice. It had everything to be a good dish, but the sauce was lacking and tasted like a watered down teriyaki with pepper. I just wasn't here for it, but if you like an extremely mild teriyaki then it might be for you! Service: The waitress was attentive and even stopped by to refill my water. I really enjoy when they stop a few times so if you are needing extra sauce or condiments you can request them. Overall an ok experience. Ambiance: The atmosphere was different than I had expected. Dark walls with blue lights all over. The lighting was too dark for my personal taste and I'd prefer a classic white or candlelight style lighting when eating. Value: My meal was a great value for how much food I received and the variety of food. In total, my meal was $16 for 3 appetizer sized dishes, rice, and a bowl of soup. Recommend: If you are looking for a cool atmosphere with a fairly priced lunch menu, I would say this is the spot for you. If you were looking for bold flavors and a more authentic experience, I would opt to pass.

Sumo Sushi and Japanese Restaurant is a casual spot that specializes in both traditional Japanese…read morecuisine and fusion-style sushi. Located in Village West on Tilghman Street, it's open Monday through Thursday from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Friday from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, Saturday from 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM. I was looking for a place to grab dinner before going to the movies, and since I hadn't had sushi in a while, I decided to give Sumo a try. Kicked things off with the crispy calamari, which was perfectly fried. It's a familiar favorite, served with a sweet chili sauce that complements it nicely. Next up were the Kani salad and seafood miso soup. While the soup was loaded with seafood, both dishes were fairly average and a bit bland. For the main event, sushi! I tried the Sumo Roll, with spicy crunchy salmon and avocado inside, topped with seared salmon, white tuna, crispy rice ball, and tobiko with the chef's special sauce. I also had the Cracked Lobster Roll, filled with spicy shrimp and lobster, sweet potato tempura, and topped with Kani salad and a Japanese cracker with garlic mango sauce. Both were fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. Overall, everything was enjoyable. I'd rank Sumo somewhere in the middle among the sushi spots I've tried.

Fast service, although the staff wasn't overly friendly--just kind of neutral. That said, the food…read morewas excellent! Sushi was super fresh with a great variety to choose from. We sat outside, which was nice even in the strip mall setting. Love that it's BYOB. We will definitely return!

We tried to call this place three times before showing up but the phone was busy. No message…read moreservice, no instructions on how to make a reservation, just a busy signal. Anyway, my wife and I show up and are told it's a fifty minute wait, so we decide to drive to a local restuarant/bar and have a drink. Fifty minutes later we come back and are seated. We each order two rolls, and figure if they're good, we would order another. The waiter, a bearded dude with a beanie, that looks like he should be smoking weed on a lobster boat off the coast of Maine, was nice, but a bit "out there." Anyway, fifty minutes later we are still waiting for our rolls. We are a bit hungery seeing it was now 8PM (we showed up at 6PM, and still no food. So my wife asks the lobsterman where our food was. He said, "we're not quick here" and moved on, fifteen minutes later, our food arrives, and for the most part, the sushi was very good, but waiting over an hour for four rolls is insane. Also, it was a BYOB, so during the long wait they recommended Joe's down the street to get beer. Joe's is cash only, so I had to use their ATM which charged me a $3 service charge, and $17 for a six pack, plus I gave the guy a $3 tip, so it cost me $23 for a six pack of beer. Upon finishing out rolls my wife asked if I wanted to split on more roll. By this time, it was 8:30 and there was no way I was waiting till 9:30 for one more roll. We asked for a check and put our credit card on the table we like to use for air miles. Lobsterman then told us cash only, lol, so I hiked to the nearest 7/11 and paid a $4 service fee. The moral of the story, bring cash, bring your own beer, bring a lot of patience, and you should enjoy your sushi, which was good. Oh yeah, the men's bathroom literally has a toilet that comes up to the middle of my shin. It looks like something you'd see at a preschool for kids. I only had to pee, but for the guys who work there, I have no idea what they do when the have to do #2. SMH. The place is a bit surreal and I will not be going back.
