Raising Canes is a solid option for us chicken strip fans and the newer location in Oxnard is much welcomed in this community. I've been to this raising canes a few times now since they opened and feel like I can leave a fair review. I've dined both inside and through the drive thru. Both are great means to fill your chicken strip craving. Being a huge chicken strip connoisseur I would rate raising canes as a 3.5/5. Let me example. The biggest plus is its white meat chicken. Very generous on the tender size and juicy, flavorful chicken. My biggest critique is the batter had be hit or miss. Wish these tenders had a little more batter to be honest. Some days the chicken is crispy and that ups it to a 4/5. But most days, and like today, while the chicken was hot, the batter was a bit soggy. Not enough crunch or good breading consistency for me. The fries and coleslaw are fine. Average and hit the spot. I do like the canes sauce. Just a little pricey at .45 each. I was surprised with a four box tender, only one sauce provided. What I do love about this location and what helped me get to 4 stars is that the staff here are super friendly and sweet. Everyone that works here is nice and always good vibes. Inside and through the drive thru there is good hospitality and service. I appreciate that even when the lines get long they keep it moving. Overall, raising canes is a good option if you are in the mood for some chicken strips. Don't sleep on their lemonade, it's perfectly well balanced and refreshing.

Food is good for a fast food restaurant. Pricing seems a little high for what you get but I was not hungry when we left. Booths and tables available. Kids were loving it. It's pretty loud so you have to talk loud, very loud.

Delicious chicken sandwich with an extra chicken finger on the side

On a brisk Spring Monday night on the 17th of March, I stumbled into Raisin' Canes at around 10:12 PST at the Oxnard location. Much to my delight, it was the FIRST time there were no lines! I found ample parking around the establishment. As I made my way to the front of the desk, a polite and friendly cashier by the name of ANNA greeted me with joy. She eagerly took my order which consisted of the "The Sandwich Combo" plus an extra side of "Chicken Finger." I also ordered the green leprechaun-themed lemonade drink which was what I really went for. I commented how this was my first time seeing no lines, to which she said that usually, people come in waves with a smile. My order came out fast, with Anna handing my order with the utmost professionalism. She then proceeded to clean the windows of the establishment's glass doors as I left. Unfortunately, much to my demise, as I placed the lemonade drink on the roof of my door as I was opening, a sudden gust of wind toppled it over the side of my car. Since it was windy, it also opened the doors of the establishment as I approached it, much to Anna's surprise. Upon notifying her of the sad situation, she immediately made another drink for me with a smile, while apologizing many times, even though I told her it was not her fault. She wasn't even there when the wind blew. The food itself was delicious. Raisin' Canes, what do you expect? The buttered bread buns and chicken fingers combined with lettuce and sauce made for an especially delectable synergy on your palate. The fries were delicious dipped in ketchup combined with the vinegar hot sauce. The green lemonade, which I was really going for, was, unfortunately, a bit watery and diluted -- compared to another place I went a few days earlier in Carson. However, I wanted to say that Anna should be recognized by the company for her commitment to customer service, going above and beyond in terms of interactions with customers, and providing exceptional service! That alone, is why this place gets 5 Yelp stars for without that experience, it would be 4 stars due to the diluted lemonade.

My daughter's school was having. A "Senior" fundraisers at this Cane's location, so we decided to have a have our family dinner inside the restaurant. Many kudos to "Raising Cane's" for being a fundraising option for high schools (and other organizations). I certainly wouldn't have tried them without this situation. As there are other fried chicken options that enjoy/frequent. Speaking of the food, our family of 4 ordered. - chicken sandwich combos for me and my wife, with fountain drinks - kids meal combo (with juice) for our little one -Caniac combo (6 chick strips and fries) With fountain drinks. It was a new experience all of us having Cane's we loved our respective meals. My wife and I thought the chicken was tender and juicy...the cane sauce great for dipping their crunch fries. My oldest daughter, whose school was having the fundraiser, had the added benefit of seeing her friends while having her meal. The little one loved the chicken fingers and couldn't get enough cane's sauce with fries. The service wasn't too bad; there is a kiosk order option but we went to the counter so she could prove she was part of the senior class. The food came fairly quickly. Overall the restaurant has tables, booths and individual bar stool seating/dining. Also the space is spacious bright and stylish...it doesn't look like any other fast food restaurant. Previous to this experience Cane's wasn't on my radar....I'd more likely go to the Chick-fil-a across the street but now that I know something about what they offer and the goodness of the food; a crunch, tender, juicy 3 chicken finger sandwich, fries and a drink. I'd be hard pressed to pass them by! The only thing I don't like about this restaurants location is the parking...I know they can't do anything about it but it not easy find (a space to park) because there isn't a lot of it.

I come here pretty often with my boyfriend and last night we door dashed canes and I ordered the box that comes with 4 chicken fingers and I only got 3. And I did also ask for no ice in the soda and drink was filled to the brim with ice . And there was another time I came and asked for a lemonade and the gave me a coke . The people at this location are very nice tho which is why I don't want to give a one star

I drove into a plaza there was a bunch of food and a shopping center. We came after we went to the beach for some dinner. We walked in and ordered our food it came out sooo fast and quickly like in seconds right after. I ordered us a 4 piece chicken tenders combo for my son and I to share. Instead of coleslaw I asked for extra canes sauce. It was just enough for the both of us. I also took a survey really quickly and got to choose a gift for taking it. It was our first time trying it and we liked it!!! The customer service was AMAZINGLY WONDERFUL. The bread was buttery and crispy how bread is suppose to be. NO CAP!!!! My son is super picky eater too. We are BEYOND HAPPY!!!! Thanks yall!!!!!!!!!

I came here with my friends, and the service was terrible. The workers were very, very rude and I didn't even get what I ordered. They did it completely wrong and can't stand the service. Also there was a hair in my food obviously from the girl that wouldn't give her name when I confronted her. She had long brownish black hair and she had it down under her hat. She refused her name which really put me over the edge to make the decision to make this review. Normally I'm very kind and compassionate to food workers but this was just unacceptable.

Good drink to celebrate st. Patrick's day

They serve green lemonade for st Patrick's day! Caine's deserves a 5 star! It's outstanding, and nice. I usually receive my food in just 5 minutes, but I got my food in 10 seconds. Like BOY! Tables were packed with people enjoying the amazing chicken tenders! I think they should control the volume for their music a little. But overall, I think everything looked ok to be honest. The bathrooms looked absolutely gorgeous and clean. Drive thru looked like it's slow, but life does go fast like a blink of a eye. You just never know when to get you nice and fresh food for your day or night. Absolutely creative idea to put green food coloring on their lemonades for st Patrick's day!

Pretty good food here! I recommend the sweet tea. There's a lot of seats here where you can come with a group of people. There's also restrooms but you need a code from the employees. The disco ball decor is nice!

Kimi A.

The staff was friendly and efficient in pricing the correct for ordered. ( I wish they had chicken that wasn't breaded. The meat was moist and juicy with a good crunch on the outside. The French fries were hot and plentiful. Only the larger order has cole slaw, but everyone had a piece of Texas Toast! The restaurant was noisy with loud music and the bathroom needed attention.

The portions are waaaaaay smaller. Not even a regular helping of fries & the chicken is smaller. The container is smaller too. Sorry but for what I paid, almost $26 for two 3-piece meals. It's just not worth it. Yes, I know everything is more expensive but come on! Not coming back.

I don't get the hype. The sauce is the only heavy hitter. I'm glad I tried. I can now put it behind me.

BBQ Worth Fighting Over at Smokin Jay's BBQ & Coffee from Potheads Coffee…read more My wife and I recently stopped by Smokin Jay's BBQ and paired it with a visit to Potheads Coffee, and it turned into one of those meals you end up talking about long after you leave. From the first bite, it was clear this spot takes their BBQ seriously. Entrées: We started by ordering a brisket plate, which came with about 1/4 lb of brisket, roughly six solid pieces, along with macaroni salad and baked beans. Our original plan was to share, but that quickly changed after the first few bites. The brisket was tender, flavorful, and cooked just right with that perfect balance of smoke and juiciness. It didn't take long before we realized sharing wasn't going to cut it. So my wife went back up and ordered a brisket sando with fries, and it absolutely delivered. The sandwich came loaded with brisket, pickles, slaw, and sauce, all working together perfectly. The fries were a great side, crispy and a solid pairing with the sandwich. Sides: The macaroni salad and baked beans that came with the plate were both on point. The mac salad was creamy and complemented the richness of the brisket, while the baked beans added that sweet and savory depth you want with BBQ. Sandwich Details: The sando really stood out, especially with the addition of the slaw. My wife usually isn't a fan of coleslaw, but this one changed things a bit. It wasn't overpowering and added a nice crunch and balance to the sandwich, tying everything together without taking away from the brisket. Drinks and Service: Grabbing coffee from Potheads Coffee alongside the meal was the perfect move. What really stood out, though, was the service. Jay, the owner, was walking around checking in on customers and genuinely engaging with everyone. He even helped my wife decide on a coffee based on what she usually orders at Starbucks, which was a great personal touch. He later stopped by our table, chatted with us for a bit, and made the whole experience feel welcoming and personal. Ambience: The atmosphere strikes a great balance between laid back and lively. It has that casual, welcoming BBQ spot feel where you can relax, enjoy your food, and not feel rushed. Pairing it with Potheads Coffee adds to the experience, making it feel like more than just a meal but a spot you can hang out and enjoy. Overall: Smokin Jay's BBQ is hands down the best BBQ spot I've had in Ventura County so far. Between the quality brisket, well put together sides, standout sandwiches, and the personal touch from the owner, it's an easy recommendation. Pair it with Potheads Coffee, and you've got yourself a top tier Ventura food stop that's definitely worth coming back to.

The team members are also quick to help or answer questions at the register. Our food came out fast! The Sandwich Combo (Regular/Hot) with fries and Mac & Cheese, no slaw for the husband. Gordo Fries Combo (Spicy) for me. We found it all fresh and delicious. The option for two sides (included) is great. We found the chicken moist and tender -- the heat levels were perfect. The Mac & Cheese was a favorite. It was one of the husband's sides and generously piled on my Gordo Fries. There's plenty of clean tables and seating inside The Annex. Orders are packed to-go so you can also enjoy it outside at the park or community areas.

First, the gal who took our order was super friendly and helpful. The food was really good. Reminded me of We had the original chicken wings, japchae, kimbap, bulgogi bowl and the yuzu and grape ades. All of the dishes were wonderful. Chicken was nice and crispy --good flavor throughout and not greasy at all! The japchae had a great balance of flavors and the shiitake mushrooms, in particular, had really great flavor--must have been marinated for a long time to soak up all the juices! The kimbap was delicious! It was fresh and the pickle in it (Japanese call it takuan, idk what its name in Korean is) was super mild. It didn't overpower the other ingredients. The bulgogi was a solid dish. It had also the glass noodles on one side and plenty of meat and veggies. A good, well-rounded dish. We will come back for bing soo after the kid finishes finals, if it isn't too late! A local regular enthusiastically suggested we try it, so we will be back. The drinks were really delicious as well.
