I'm not sure why I avoided Jimmy John's for so long? I had a fabulous healthy sandwich from them today and was in n out of there in under 5 minutes. It was kind of magical. I've driven by this sandwich spot more times than I can count. I just didn't know a lot about Jimmy John's until recently (thank you tik tok). I kept seeing promos and videos of their lettuce wrapped sandwiches and thought they looked pretty good. Today for lunch I was pretty hungry but wanted something on the healthier side and made my way here. Inside it's a little small but more so cozy than anything. The restaurant was clean and the menu board was easy to see / read. A female (sorry I missed her name) rang me up quickly and was helpful. She was nice and got me taken care of quickly. My sandwich maker I believe was named George and I was super impressed by him. My sandwich was ready and on the counter literally within minutes. Maybe two? It was so fast that when he placed my order on the counter I didn't even go up to claim it because I assumed it couldn't be mine ready so fast. The sweet girl who took my order saw me just waiting around and immediately went up, grabbed the sandwich and bagged it letting me know it was ready. That was really nice of her because who knows how long I would've waited lol I love how fast they make the sandwiches and that she took the extra step in customer service to make sure I didn't Miss out on grabbing my order. I came in around 1:30pm on 2/18 if it helps management see because the staff were great. As for the food I liked my sandwich and felt that it was a healthy and filling option to go with. I got the county club unwich = lettuce wrapped sandwiches. I was impressed that the sandwich didn't fall apart and the way George wrapped it really held together, which was nice to be able to eat it on the run. Normally, it's really hard to eat a lettuce wrapped anything but here they have a really tight roll on it which made it a perfect sandwich. Their side of kicken ranch is a must, spicy and creamy. I loved dipping my sandwich in it, and it made for the perfect meal. I'm really happy I finally checked this place out and when I came in, I felt like the service was pretty good. I like a more traditional and fresh sliced sandwich which is why I couldn't give this place an immediate five stars but I do think it's a solid four stars all day long and I will definitely be back. read more

I liked their sandwiches better because they put more lettuce and mayo through the end of the bread! Yum! there's just plenty of lettuce or sauce (whether it's mayo or ranch or mustard) they'll add more if you asked them to! They want to make sure you are happy! and don't forget to mention if you want your sandwich cut in half! And don't forget to give your phone number! Your next sandwich might be free! If you must eat fast-food sandwiches then this here is a great deal! They make delicious sandwiches, have great combos + the employees are nice! And they are quick- no line going around the shop! We haven't been to a J J's since the store in Newbury Park closed so we decided to give it another go since we liked their sandwiches. They now have toasted line so we ordered the toasted Sicilian Pizza sandwich, the toasted Country Club, and the J J Gargantuan using their app. These guys are known for their speedy food prep and had our order ready in about 5 minutes ! My wife's Country Club was a great opener as she loves adding the Jimmy Peppers adding a nice pop to the flavour. The Sicilian had a great crunch, coupled with the spiciness of the Capacola and smoothness of the cheese, then immediately followed by a nice hearty marinara sauce noting a wonderful Oregano and peppery underpinning. The Gargantuan truly lived up to its name ! It was a MONSTER ! While loaded with many types of lunchmeat and condiments, this really packed a punch with all the variations of spices, the freshness of the ingredients, and finishing with the delicate texture of the french bread. This was my first time here and I was pleasantly surprised. My sandwich was fresh and delicious. They had a good variety and the avocado on my sandwich was flavorful. I do wish they would explained a little better because I would have loved to add onions and I thought it came with it. At this location there is plenty of parking which is nice and tables inside and out. The food was made fast which was nice and they had a soda fountain and a variety of different chips to choose from. I would like to come back and try some of the other sandwiches. read more

The place was clean, the sandwich was actually really good, and most times when getting the veggie ..which isn't spectacular most locations give me the smallest amount of avocado (which, whatever, what can I expect lol). I have never been to a Jimmy John's before and thanks to this location, probably never will again. I went in looking for a quick simple sandwich. I am allergic to iceberg lettuce and so after verifying what kind of lettuce they use, I requested NO lettuce. I watched them make the sandwich, thought I saw them put lettuce on it, and after I was handed the wrapped up sandwich, I again asked if there was NO lettuce on it. Yes, I was assured that there was no lettuce. So I left. Started driving away, opened up the sandwich and sure enough there was the lettuce that I did not want and was told was not going to be there!!! So I turned around, went back up the store, asked for a manager, and some kid comes out with a blank stare. I showed him the sandwich and pointed out it was not supposed to have ANY lettuce. He looks at it and says OH... like... what do you want me to do about it? So I told him I had to come back and point out their mistake and how was he going to make it up to me... thinking he would either make me a new one and refund me or at least offer a free sandwich next time, or even make this next sandwich a bigger size??? What can I say, Jimmy John's is the jam. This spot is fast, professional, place is always clean and kept well. Food is epic - one cannot go wrong with the #5 Vito. Recommend doing a mega and saving the second half for dinner or lunch the next day. Been to lots of chain and small sandwich spots - Jimmy John's knows how to make bread and a sandwich. Usually go to jersey mikes and firehouse but I was right here so came to try it. I asked if they did anything like sub in a tub from jersey mikes. He said he didn't know what that was. I explained it's a sun with no bread essentially. He said no. I asked to confirm "you only do bread?" He said yea. I made the dumbest mistake and accidentally ordered my sandwich to the wrong location. The Camarillo not only made my sandwich for me sure fast but they didn't even make me cancel the order so I didn't have to wait for a refund. They just honored it like was correct from the start. It's been 15 months since my last review. Prices have gone up 25% across the board. Employees still poorly training. Today's cashier had her mask over her mouth and when I asked her to mask her nose she rolled her eyes at me and complied taking the mask by the top (where she's been breathing) and pulling it up. It kept slipping down and I felt like running away. The website no longer works - I can't order sandwiches online so I have to call or go into the store (UGH). I like this location and staff, have visited probably 20 times this year. My low rating is for a particular reason. I love that this establishment offers a military discount, they have every single time. This visit they refused the discount and the older woman manager flat out told me that they have never done that because it would "lose us money". I don't mind if they don't offer a discount anymore but I do mind being lied to and made to feel like a liar in public. For the record, other employees said they did have it just didn't know how to ring it up. Walked in and received quite an exuberant greeting from the cashier (by the way, thanks for that, loved your energy!). I asked for recommendations and he suggested the following bestsellers: #9 Italian Night Club = Genoa salami, capicola, ham, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onions, mayo & vinaigrette. #12 Beach Club = Turkey breast, avocado spread, cucumber, cheese, lettuce, tomato & mayo. What distinguished these sandwiches for me versus the competitors was the bread. Here, it is significantly more dense and chewy. While I did enjoy the overall taste of the food, the ratio of the bread to fillings was off, since the bread was personally too overwhelming. The meat and cheese also kept slipping out every time I bit into the sandwich. While this isn't a huge annoyance, it was noticeable -- I intended to eat a sandwich, not bread and it's fillings separately. As far as the fillings, I especially loved the crunch of the cold cucumbers and thick slices of juicy tomatoes. In a hurry? The speed was impressive. Both of my sandwiches were ready within 2 minutes of ordering. This was so unexpected that I had to triple-check and make sure it was indeed my order! As I walked in I could not focus on the menu because there were so many cool signs everywhere. After a few chuckles I regained my focus on the menu. Ok so now what do I order? Thankfully the young lady working the register explained the menu and their sandwiches. So I decide on #16 Club LuLu (see picture). I get home and slice it up. Yum! Soft fresh baked bread with fresh veggies add to the great taste of this sandwich. Their bread is baked fresh daily! My second time visiting here I ordered #12 Beach Club (see picture) The spouts and cucumbers make this sandwich fun to eat. Don't forget to order a Jumbo kosher dill pickle that they will slice up for you to enjoy with your sandwich. They also offer a lettuce wrap sandwich great for all the low carb eaters out there. Today was one of the best days ever! I woke up to a call from my dad singing about how he is now in remission, our boss rewarded our hardwork with box seats to the Lakers game next week, I had a picnic with my besties at the lake, found super cute shoes on sale, and I ran my first 5k. Needless to say I was ready to top it off with the best dinner ever, and after that run I deserved it! On the way home from the gym my friend and I contemplated where we could get the perfect meal to go, without sacrificing quality for quickness. She is a great friend so she knows my tastes and recommended picking up sandwiches from Jimmy Johns. I've never been before but I trust her judgment. Once we walked in I was immediately enamored by the smell of freshly baked bread, and the incredible aroma of what I only know as hoagies. The gentleman at the counters name was Nick and he was so kind, courteous and professional. I knew after a few moments that my heart was set on the JJBLT, but knowing my boyfriends love for sandwiches I decided to bring him one home as well. Nick was so helpful in walking me through my options, and incredibly patient as I went back in forth between the gargantuan and the Italian club sandwich. He offered his opinion on the sandwich and really personalized our experience there. Eventually I decided to get him the Italian club. As we waited for our sandwiches we were entertained with all of the funny, motivational and inspiring signs placed throughout the restaurant. Interesting enough but the signs are hung and spaced in a classy, creative and non-cluttered way. Very impressive! Anyways, I absolutely loved my BLT sandwich (on a long freshly baked italian roll) and my boyfriend loved his italian club (on the same kind of roll.) We dug into them before even thinking or caring about taking a picture. We both saved the paper for our leftovers, but there was no need. We devoured the sandwiches along with their Jimmy john thinny chips and regular original Jimmy chips. Subconsciously I believe I didn't take a picture of our sandwiches so I had a reason to go back tomorrow ;) The moral of this story is if you are looking for the perfect meal to fit into your perfect day you need to go see Nick over at Jimmy Johns. read more

I've known about Jimmy John's since my daughters' days at the Univ. of Arizona where this place is huuuuuuuuuuuuuugely popular. Not only did the university location serve up great sandwiches, but they delivered till the wee hours of the morning. Couldn't have been more perfect for a college student's needs. When I visited my girls, they turned me onto a Jimmy John's sub. Anyway, fast forward to now...... When I recently saw there was a Jimmy John's in Camarillo, I became so excited because these were some of the BEST sandwiches ever. I don't know why, but they JUST ARE. The bread is different for starters..... and sorry to be so vague about it, but I also can't tell you why on that...... just that it's got a different texture and taste, and it's realllllllllllly good. The ingredients are real fresh, and they even make tuna the way I like it...... with mayo, onion, celery, some special sauce, which I think is just mayo, but maybe it's more, along with lettuce, tomato and cucumber. All I know is that it was delicious !!! Their "regular" size is 8 inches, and it's only $5.99. They also come in a much larger size, but I just get their regular. My husband got a turkey and roast beef, and while it's not offered on their menu that way...... he asked for it, and they gladly accommodated his request. Awesome stuff. Give them a try. How about when you tell them you've never been there and they don't offer suggestions or explain how things work until you ask the questions?
