This time around there was a female working the sandwich station while the other two were running the register and prepping dough. I requested light mayo and extra mustard. I said it. Don't go here. This was by far my worst experience at a restaurant. I walked In today with my kids this morning, it was busy but I didn't think much of it. I was ordering and the man in the register was being very rude to me. I was asking him what was in a sandwich and he said "it's up there on the menu I don't know" and well I didn't say anything, but then I tried repeating what I wanted on my sandwich and he said he couldn't hear me and to speak louder , he kept hitting the register because it froze on him and he was just talking to me in a rude tone and wasn't helpful at all, I also asked him for a couple packets of mayo and mustard and he was just standing there, and instead of getting them for me , he said to just go grab them myself, I don't know his name because he didn't have a name tag on but he was just in wearing a bandanna and long saggy pants, those kind of people shouldn't be allowed to work at places like that, the other staff was nice , and the food was okay. I got the #4 Turkey sandwich without lettuce tonight and I was sadly disappointed since it only had one piece of turkey. I took the sandwich back and the guy behind the counter said that corporate rules said they can only put one slice of turkey on the sandwich. I think what sent me over the edge is that they weren't apologetic and they certainly weren't goin to give another slice. This sad sandwich cost me over $9. This sandwich was certainly not worth the money and the service was inferior. I can get better service at McDonalds. I will never go back to this place. Don't get me wrong. My kids love Jimmy John's Turkey and Provolone sandwich (no. 12 on the menu). The staff are usually great and very welcoming. But this one time that I called to preorder a few minutes after opening the store a guy answered with a very uninterested sounding "hello". I thought maybe it's too early for him or maybe he is by himself and very busy. So I proceeded to place my order as usual. At the end of the call, I asked him how long will it take for my order to be ready. His answer was "I don't know" in the same I-Don't-Care attitude. The nastiest sub I have ever tasted. The bread was not warm whatsoever and the taste of the sandwich was just bland. It did not have any mayonnaise or mustard or anything. Idk if it was because it was an Italian sub or what but the taste was nothing like an Italian sub that I was expecting. He proceeds to argue with me about what I said vs what he put down. Regardless of who said what the fact he argued with me over something so trivial was ridiculous. "Free Smells" as advertised on their window, this whole time I thought it said "Free Samples" which reeled me in. It sure did have an savory smell, that watered my mouth. I ordered the Beach Club and requested them to "Jimmy it up" (onions, sauce, peppers & oregano-basil) thanks to the people that recommended I try this place. Sprouts optional* totally forgot to add it, I wish they would've asked if I wanted to add it. Bread was fresh and soft, not rubbery and tough. I don't know if "Jimmy it up" means to make the sandwich sloppy, it was quite a mess. They were quite generous with the mayo, which I didn't like and the peppers weren't evenly distributed. Other than what I'm complaining about, I did enjoy my sandwich. I definitely would pay $7.99 for a quality sandwich vs. $5 at their competitor. This place is in a battle with Subway... because their sandwiches are very mediocre, and lack the quality taste of a local Italian deli and family owned type sub shop. The people working this shop are fairly incredible- my order was done within seconds of ordering it, and every one was very kind and as I sat and ate continued to work exceedingly hard. I understand the importance of quality, i really do- but I ordered a number #17 the Ultimate and was absolutely disappointed. There was a total of 2 slices of meat in the sandwich, same number of slices of cheese (which was a dollar extra) a couple strips of WAY TO SALTY bacon, and a small spreading of mashed "avocado" (which was also a dollar extra). Im not sure how this place will survive.... I spent almost $14.00 to be bitterly disappointed. I almost politely handed them the sandwich back and told them to keep it. Please don't waste your money here if you are actually looking for a solid meal. Not saying you will not leave full- the roll they serve it on is actually really soft and good, but for a sub shop to be classed by its bread is not a good sign :/ Long story short, In my opinion, this place gives great service. Ok, 4 stars is a lot for me to give a sandwich place like this. Puffy French bread, shredded lettuce, all the things I despise in a sammy. Having said that, Holy Cow! I saw photos and comments about flat, skinny sandwiches, not enough meat, etc, so I ordered the Italian Nightclub, extra meat, and added oil, vinegar, sautéed peppers, onions and Oregano, like their "jimmied up" option, but without paying extra for it. The photos pretty much speak for themselves. I felt like Adam Richmond by the time I was through! In my opinion, better than Jersey Mikes, about even with Subway. Fewer options than both, but more meat than either, and the puffy bread wasn't as flavorless as the others. read more

We dropped by Jimmy Johns in Carpinteria on our way to Santa Barbara for a quick bite. The place is conveniently located near a gas station which made it easier for us to stop by. The place is clean and the staff friendly. My boyfriend and I decided to split an order of roast beef sub with lettuce wrap instead of bread. The place was pretty small but outside seating was available to sit more customers. We were at Jimmy Johns around 1130 am so the usual lunch crowd was sill not there. We were able to find a booth inside and our order was brought to us quickly. It was delicious. The roast beef was very flavorful. We will definitely have to find a Jimmy Johns near our place soon! read more

I ordered a sandwich from Jimmy John's today for dinner they charge my card and they called me back five minutes later telling me they couldn't deliver to my area anymore to be honest they always deliver to my area so I don't know what the problem was.... maybe they should check and see what areas they deliver to before they take your card information .. because I literally had to call my bank and try and get my money back for the order I didn't even receive because they couldn't deliver to my house and I also had to get a new card to... The reason I love this place: the sandwiches taste great, the delivery is very FAST and everyone is friendly. As long as those 3 things stay consistent, I dont mind paying a small premium for delivery (delivery charge + tip). It's worth it when you need the convenience. So I tried ordering "extra meat" for $1.75 more and compared to the regular sandwich I also bought at the same time and it looked like they had the same amount. I tried again and the same thing happened. Even when you pay extra for double meat, they still skimp. This isn't Subway prices, so they need to step it up on the amount of meat to make it worth it. Mine was to go so I didn't find this out till I got home. The bread (they only offer one style) was rather hard and stale on the bottom half. Not much turkey on the ones I bought. Unfortunately I have had one too many not so great experiences with Jimmy John's Camarillo. They have delivered my sandwiches with out meat on them, they have delivered over an hour late, and today they did not include items that I had paid for already. They would not issue a credit to my card for wrong and forgotten items but merely said they would offer in store credit, which I found meant nothing. No more chances from this person. For the prices they want for mediocre sandwiches to be delivered it is not worth it. I guess I will just have to use Door Dash or Uber Eats to get better food delivered to me at lunch time. read more

I'm posting this review on behalf of my boyfriend and his experience. It was my first time going into Jimmy Johns today.(March 23rd) The young girl at the register was great. Had many recommendations. I decided to order the beach club. Turkey, tomato, avocado, spread... ect After leaving with my sandwich I realized there's no avocado spread, so I go back and ask for some. The young man in charge was a great help! He was trying to figure out who made the sandwich.. (which wasn't necessary. Just adding the missing avocado would have sufficed) The two girls on the clock, came out and wouldn't answer the gentleman's question. (I believe it was the younger girl who made my sandwich) But that's not why I am upset. The second girl, who was rude right off the bat, made faces at me. Trying to make me seem dumb, talking to me in an unpleasant manner. After leaving with my sandwich, angry, the avocado spread was placed between the cheese. So when you bite into the sandwich the avocado shot out from the sides and made a mess. I lost my appetite due to the attitude and unpleasantness of the young lady.
