Friendly staff, shockingly mediocre food for a somewhat higher price point and the special cane's sauce is NOTHING SPECIAL. This was my first time trying the chain. Doubt I'll try again.....

I've eaten Cane's a few times prior to visiting this location. This Is my first time here. It's large, lots of seating and it is very clean. It's busy but the service is very swift and sufficient. It seems as if Cane's is an acquired taste, either people like it or they don't. I like it and yes I do recommend.

This Raising Cane's is directly across from the famous Millennium Park! While it is super busy inside, the line when I quick! Friendly service and ample seating for a guests! Also free refills !

Honestly... this was my first time ever trying Cane's. Personally, it tasted exactly like Zaxby's but not as good. This location on Michigan Avenue it was extremely packed. I spent $20 on a combo meal and didn't get my bread or my coleslaw. The food is exactly what you expect.. except they were chicken fingers with unseasoned cold fries. I give it three out of five just because I do like chicken fingers but I won't be going back here again.

The place itself was a complete zoo. So busy, so loud, lots of people standing around and waiting, everything was a mess. It took awhile to get my food. 3 stars because the chicken was hot and delicious. The toast was really good too. However, the fries were barely warm. I would get raising canes food again, just at a different location.

Date of visit: July 24, 2023 Raising Cane's is hands down my husband's favorite chicken restaurant, fast food restaurant, maybe even his favorite restaurant of all time! So when we not only visit a city that has a Raising Cane's but walk right by one just a couple blocks from our hotel, there's no way we aren't going to stop in at SOME point. That some point this time was lunch on a Monday while we were exploring the city. The food was good--as always--and the restaurant was large and in great condition. While I also enjoy the chicken, their fries are normally not my jam yet this time they actually had some crunch to them and I ate more than a handful. Really the only downfall here was a lack of service at the front counter where we didn't get exactly what we ordered. But it was so good that it's hard to complain TOO loudly!

Is this little fella worth $2.29 + Chicago city tax? It's hard to justify.

This place is kind of a disorganized mess. There are about 20 people waiting around to receive their food; meanwhile, employees are milling about, unsure of what to do next. It's not even that busy--4 PM on a Thursday. I myself waited 9 minutes to receive an order that consisted of nothing more than 4 chicken fingers and one sauce. The chicken fingers themselves are delicious, and of course they're hot and fresh--because the kitchen is having a hard time keeping up with demand. I wouldn't say don't go here; I would just say don't go here if you're in a hurry. Or if you're cost-conscious--$2.29 per chicken finger ain't cheap. Some of these fingers are only 4" long (see photo).

I've always heard of the long lines at the new Raising Canes in South Florida so when I was in Chicago and saw a Raising Canes with no line,l I had to go in. I ordered at the kiosk and it was very quick and easy. My order was ready and myname was called very quickly. I ordered the box combo with four chicken tenders, crinkle fries, toast, Canes sauce, and a soda. With tax it was over $14. I found the chicken tenders were lacking in flavor. The toast was good, although smaller than I had expected. I love coleslaw and this was good. The Canes sauce was good but not all that different than sauces at other places. The interior has a very cool vibe. There was an employee actively clearing and cleaning tables. I am glad I got to try Canes and happy I didn't have to wait in a long line.

Located across from the bean on the corner of Michigan Ave and Madison. I made a quick stop here after a night out, about 30 minutes before closing. It's extremely hard for me to resist some crispy chicken from Cane's. I placed a large online order for me and my boys. It was hot and fresh when I arrived! The service was awesome. The store is well lit and very nicely decorated. When I'm in the loop next week -- I'm grabbing food here.

All my stars go towards the food. I always thought Raising Cane's was a Southern chain when I first tried it in Kentucky, but was so glad that they opened a location in downtown Chicago. I love the chicken tenders combo and the toast they give. The Canes sauce is so good! It kinda sucks extra sauce costs like 50 cents though. Prices are kinda steep for the platters ($13 for 3 tender combo with a drink, fries and small coleslaw). The location loses stars because of their staff and service. The food takes like 15+ minutes to come out. Ran into some incredibly rude staff. Needed to wash my hands and needed a code to enter the restroom from the worker. They first said "it's for paying customers only" and then asked me for a receipt and then gave a snarky comment. Asking for purchase is fine, but I could do without the rudeness and snarky-ness. The restaurant was pretty clean and pretty big. Always busy but there was room to sit.

Despite all the hype, I personally was not a fan; everything tasted just okay to me. 3 friends and I shared 2 combo meals amongst us, which contains 6 tenders, 2 pieces of toast, a small container of coleslaw, fries, sauce, and a drink. The chicken was alright, but not crispy enough and a little soggy. The fries were just okay too-- too soft for my liking. The coleslaw and the sauce were fine, but nothing special. I think my favorite part of it was the toast, which was quite crunchy and I enjoyed its light and slightly sweet flavor. It was pretty crowded inside, but everything was fast. We ordered quickly on a self-service kiosk, found a table easily, and our order was ready at the front in a few minutes. The interior vibes were pretty nice with decorative wall hangings and funky lighting. -- Price (relative to peers): 4.5/5 Food: 3/5 Ambience: 4.5/5 Service: N/A Overall Value: 3/5

Chicken tenders and fries. The chicken is okay but not flavorful. It does have a small crunch but nothing like the Popeye

Chicken is dry and have no flavor, fries have no seasoning, and the canes sauce is not that good. Zaxbys is 10x better than raising canes.

The real highlight for me, though, was the chocolate cake -- incredibly soft, rich, chocolatey, and moist. It was the perfect dessert after dinner. The restaurant itself is super cool and full of old Chicago memorabilia and vintage items that make the place feel unique and fun to explore. If you're visiting town, it's worth stopping by just for the atmosphere alone. They also have a huge food selection and a full bar, so there's something for everyone. The service was great, and despite how busy the place can get, they have plenty of lines for self-service and ordering at the counter, which keeps things moving smoothly. Overall, a really fun spot to grab food while visiting Chicago.

The atmosphere, history, and overall hype surrounding it definitely add to the experience. However, in my personal opinion, the ambience and reputation outweighed the actual quality of the food! I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich combo along with a classic hot dog. The customer service itself was actually very nice and prompt. The cashier helping me was friendly enough to let me sample their spicy chipotle-style sauce/spread that comes with the chicken sandwich, and honestly, that sauce was delicious. That said, I have to admit the hot dog itself was pretty underwhelming. I know Chicago-style hot dogs are iconic, but I personally felt like I've had better-tasting hot dogs from a Dodger Dog or even Costco. The relish here tasted oddly artificial to me -- almost like a strange paste consistency that I just couldn't get into. Maybe it's just my Los Angeles taste buds talking, but honestly, some of the best hot dogs I've had are from the street vendors off Hollywood Boulevard with the grilled onions, bell peppers, mustard, mayo, ketchup... you know exactly the kind I'm talking about!! Overall, I'd still recommend trying this place at least once simply because it's such a well-known Chicago institution, but for me personally, the food didn't fully live up to the hype.....

The chicken strips were perfectly crispy on the outside and super juicy on the inside.
