Trust me, just call this one…read more I got inspection/quotes from a few other garage door shops before Isaac from Instant Garage Door Repair (AKA A.M.B. Garage Doors, they merged apparently). They all found the very obvious issue (door arm was missing) and said "yeah we'll need to replace the entire thing". Isaac actually open/closed the door a few times, looked where it might be catching or rubbing, checked the roller wheels and springs, door alignment, etc. Isaac very clearly knows garage doors -- and he delivered. He was able to service the main maintenance in like 40 minutes; it went from being impossible for my partner to open/close manually to being almost no effort (and it's a heavy door)! In addition, there was a broken and missing piece of plastic where the door arm normally connects... he was able to CUSTOM CRAFT a small piece of metal that fits perfectly into where the missing piece was, removing the need to replace the otherwise-functional system! All of this ran us half what other places quoted us for the full system replacement, and none of them even talked about realigning the door or upgrading rollers or anything, and he did it without needing to schedule another day.

He charged me one time and exhausted all the possible reasons to diagnose the issue. When the problem persisted after our original service call, Dave came at no extra charge with Jeremy to re-wire my entire garage. Ultimately this didn't work either meaning our garage motor was shot (which we wouldn't have known if Dave didn't have the patience to try all the methods of fixing it and seeing if the problem persisted). We selected a reasonably priced commercial grade garage door replacement and had Jeremy install it in one hour. They even credited me the cost of my initial service call toward my new garage motor. Incredible customer relations showing how much they care. Now our new garage has all the bells and whistles with a camera and mobile app. We love it! In summary; they are fast, responsive, fairly priced and good people. Don't look elsewhere for your garage service needs!

And after getting quotes to install ethernet in my 1980s circa home, one never wired for ethernet, one that just went through a significant renovation where I, in my supreme wisdom said "WiFi is great, now! Who need hardwires anymore?" was now faced with retrofitting several rooms and office with ethernet and said, this guy over here, the independent with a normal sounding company name, yeah - lets go with him! Mistake!! After schedule, and reschedule, and delays, and reschedule, we got nowhere with contractor number one. Meanwhile, Roberto and Peter at Those Tech Guys had patiently followed up several times, continued to be pleasant and professional, and AFTER I said no thank you I am going to go with someone else! So I made the dreaded call back - "So remember when I said if things change . . . " Peter was quick to jump on the phone, and walk me through things at every step. Gave me a highly competitive bid, and an install time of only a few days from when I called. They cam onsite, were clean courteous, and efficient. They played with my dog (I mean who doesn't love a bowling ball Staffy Bull Terrier mix?) and made light work of the install, and the final cost (with tip!) was even below the initial quote. This was made possible as Peter walked my home and together we found opportunities to do things more quickly, and save a few dollars along the way. In the end, I didn't choose Those Tech Guys first, but you should. No regrets here, other than I should have picked them first!

Several things went wrong. I purchased an insulated door, motor, wall unit and device that allows you to open/close the door using a smart phone from a remote location. First, the price they quoted for the door turned out to be far less than the delivered price. I was given a run-around about why the price varied from the quote. They knew the size of the door when I ordered it and I was very specific about asking what all would affect cost. They also wouldn't put their quote in writing but just provided a price sheet "range". That should have been my first clue that this company wasn't reputable. Second, the smart phone device they up-sold me on didn't work from the start. Rather than offering a solution (like a replacement or refund), they referred me to the manufacturer which was of no help. The manufacturer sells to Rainier and expects Rainier to solve the problem by arranging a replacement through them directly. Rainier wasn't willing to give a refund for the device. The wall unit to control the door also didn't function properly. Again, Rainier gave me a run-around, with excuses that were contrary to what the manufacturer was telling me and refused to resolve it. The manufacturer said it was Rainier's responsibility to replace it (through the manufacturer) or refund my money. The manufacturer felt Rainier either didn't know what they were doing when they installed the parts or didn't understand which parts were used with which devices and/or were knowingly using defective parts that maybe they had lying around in order to increase their profits. Rainier ripped me off and blew me off when I asked for a refund or replacement of the defective equipment. I've used another garage door company before trying Rainier and I'm going back to the previous company. Rainier was horrible and does not stand behind their work. They present a gosh-gee-we're-here-to-help-you approach that is all smoke and mirrors. They're all about selling product but not about standing behind anything they sell or install. With this many things that went wrong, it wasn't an accident but rather an unethical business practice. read more

Rainier Garage Door installed a garage door for me earlier this year. They carry many brands and I was able to find a style that I had been unable to find last time I looked for a replacement garage door (aluminum door with bronze finish and square windows). They did a great job and communicated well throughout the whole process, which had some hang-ups unrelated to them. The carpenter that I hired to prepare the opening had his own fixed ideas and ignored what I was telling him about replacing some interior lumber (a trim/spacer piece) that was split. When the technician (I think his name is Jose) came to install the door, he could not proceed because the split lumber was in the way. He had to reschedule for another day, and in the interim I found a carpenter who removed the split lumber and completed the job of preparing the opening. The technician returned, installed the garage door, and all was well. Shortly thereafter the door stopped operating normally. I called Rainier and made a service appointment. A technician came to the house and diagnosed a problem with the wiring of the sensors or the sensors themselves (neither of which had been replaced in many years). He sold me a pair of sensors and installed them using the new wiring that came with them. He did not charge for the installation. They work fine. I would do business with Rainier again. read more

Great service, knowledge and very professional! My garage door stopped opening back in February, after more than one months, 5 visits from three contractors, the door is finally fixed. The issue started with a broken Spring; however, due to the misdiagnose of the first contractors, I had to change the trolley, then finally the entire garage door opener. The installer of the garage door opener mis-configured the opener, the door would not seal at the bottom, he suggested me to get a new garage door to fix the problem. To get a heuristic diagnose of the issue, I called Rainier Garage Door. To start with, Rainier provides a 2 hour window instead of a 4 hour window by the other contractors, this is very convenient given that I had to take time off work 4 times already to fix the garage. Robert from Rainier Garage Door called 20 minutes before arriving, arrived on scheduled, fixed all the issues that introduced by the two previous contractors and saved me more than 2K by not having to replace the door. He was very knowledgeable, quick and friendly. What a relieve of finally getting the door fixed after this long journey! I would highly recommend Rainier Garage Door for my friends. read more

For about a year, one of our garage doors had been closing unevenly, leaving a little opening at the bottom where the garage door meets the concrete. I had not been able to adjust this myself and finally decided to call someone to take a look at it. As such, I researched Angie's list and looked on Yelp. Rainier Garage Door seemed to have a number of positive reviews, so I decided to give them a call, even though it was after normal business hours. I received a call back promptly the next day and a service call was scheduled. Our serviceman, Tony, was knowledgeable and courteous and explained that the cabling in our doors was severely frayed and ready to break. Also, the springs and rollers had not been replaced since the house was built (in 1978). He gave us various options and recommendations, and we decided to have all the work performed. The door opens smoothly, now, and closes flush against the concrete on the garage floor. Very nice job at a reasonable price -- no surprises. Outstanding customer service, great price! A+++++!!! My friend me to Rainier Garage Door, a veteran owned company. I emailed my garage door photos with broken spring to Debbie. She quoted $189+tax and sent Robert to fix it yesterday afternoon right away. Robert, a veteran with 26 years of experience, did an excellent job in one hour, replaced broken spring with new ones, plus safety cables, and completely fixed my garage door problem. Very professional. I was so impressed by his great service and would recommend this company to everyone. Thank you Debbie! Thank you Robert! P.S. I was ripped off by Specialty Door Service in Mountlake Terrace, WA 98043 - see my review for this company in details. They quoted $625 + tax for the same issue, same photos I emailed them as I emailed to Debbie. Marcus was at our house to repair our garage door this morning and we couldn't be happier! I had really low expectations we would have an operational door today, we were having to pry it up to gain access to the garage for a very long time. 2 other companies came and refused to quote repair, both said we needed to replace everything but the door itself. Marcus quickly identified the problems and had a detailed quote within a few minutes of arrival. The price was literally a third the cost of replacement quotes and Marcus was able to clearly explain how he had come to his totals. We were happy to approve the quote and he started the work. Hour and a half later, our garage door not only works, it's smoother and quieter than it's ever been. Called Monday afternoon with a garage door that wouldn't close. A very efficient lady said that someone could be out late the next day. I said that I would cancel an appointment and that time would be ok. She called back a few hours later and offered early morning so I could make my other appointment (first of all I am so impressed that she was listening when I mentioned that and then she provided a solution- very rare) Anyway the service person showed up on time, calling first to alert me he was on his way. Figured out what was wrong repaired and was gone in 30 min. Very nice transaction. He also discovered that the laser lights were off kilter and he put them on a different mounting so I will not have this problem again. Garage doors may seem like a rather boring topic, yet when they don't work, you're in a serious pickle. Rainier Garage goes way beyond expectations for servicing and installing these crucial home devices. The sales shop was pleasant and provided more than adequate door, opener and hardware choices. We bought a new mechanism to quiet down the door so sleeping kids remain so when I leave early for work. Scheduling the installation was speedy, and the reminder text the day before was very welcome. The pricing was very competitive and reasonable. Chris provided top notch and highly professional service installing the new opener and explaining how to use it. Robert was exceptional. He was professional, pleasant, and efficient. He called me and showed up on time. He explained each and every step of his work. When he replaced my broken spring, he realigned the two tracks and he made sure all parts were lubricated and positioned properly. After he completed with the replacement, he tested with my garage opener several times and adjusted it several times to make sure it closes and opens smoothly and softly and not abruptly. When he was done with the broken door, he went on to tune up and readjust my other two garage doors at no extra charge. Throughout the process, he was systematic, organized, and extremely efficient. Several months ago we had a problem with our Lift Master on one of our garage doors and the person whom we spoke to with Rainier was very helpful over the phone answering our questions and ultimately referring us directly to the manufacturer instead coming to our house and charging us a diagnosis fee for the same thing. Last weekend the cable came off the track off our other door so we called Rainier and they were able to come out the very next day. Our technician was Robert who was beyond excellent! He notified us when he was on his way and he fixed our door quickly and efficiently and was also very helpful making suggestions on basic cable and garage door maintenance. He sure knows is job! The large spring above the garage door gave out and snapped leaving us with a door that would not open. I called Rainier Garage Door and left a message which they returned first thing the next morning. They scheduled a same day appointment and installed a new set of springs. PERFECT! I am certain there may be times when they are so busy that it might be a day or two before they can get out to your home. It is well worth it! I can tell you this, these guys know their stuff. In addition to the spring replacement, they did a complete safety check. I have had them out in the past and will continue to call them as the need arises. Recommendation: Rainier Garage Door. The spring on our garage door snapped the day before a camping trip. Called the installer (Sears) first and they couldn't come out for several days. Looked on my Neighborhood's FB page for a local recommendation and found Rainer, so I tried them. They were great! Came out early the next morning, told me upfront all the costs, and explained in a non-condescending way that maybe I should take better care of my garage door. They charge a flat fee per spring, and did highly recommend upgrading the plastic track wheels with ball bearing wheels, which I did. Robert was a great installer, and was in an out in just over an hour. Plus he did a bunch more necessary upkeep of the door. Great experience. read more

First time using this company AND first time doing a review. I called at 11:30 am ON A SATURDAY with a bit of an emergency and they had someone here by 2 pm on the same day! Jason was knowledgeable, easily fixed my problem (not the huge $$$ disaster I was envisioning) and gave me a lot of good tips to take good care of my aging builder/cheapo model door. Searched for a garage door repair service and found this company with their great reviews. Called on a Thursday and had a technician out the following Monday due to high demand. They called me before the tech was on their way for the appointment and even offered to send them out early since they were running ahead of schedule. The technician was able to identify the issue and offered a few different solutions that best fit my needs. They had the door back up and running properly within an hour. The person we spoke with on the phone arranged for a technician to come the same day to replace the broken spring on our garage door. When Robert arrived he not only replaced both springs on the door quickly and efficiently, but also took time to check the alignment of the door and lubricate the rollers and chain of the drive system. He carefully explained what he had done and why. The door operates better and is quieter than it has been in a long time! So glad we found Rainier. I called Rainier Garage Door on a Saturday to explain that my garage door only went up halfway. Within 2 hours, Robert from RGD was at our house diagnosing the problems with our 34 year old opener and garage door. I opted to replace the old opener with a new one recommended by Robert and to have the door rollers upgraded. Robert was back with a new opener and new rollers the following Tuesday, and had everything installed within about an hour. I highly recommend Rainer Garage Door. They provided excellent service. My garage door opener broke and they were able to come out the next day. They installed a new door opener. Robert was very nice and professional. He checked out and tightened all of the screws on my old garage door and installed the new door opener in addition to giving me information on the springs and maintenance. He also gave me some valuable tips about my new door opener and all the bells and whistles which was super helpful. The people on the phone and the installer were true professionals. They scheduled an appt quickly the next day, shared my comments with the installer and did a great job. I told them we have a very heavy solid wood door with four springs (one broke). The installer mentioned he restocked his truck based on my comments so he was prepared and had no problems at our house. He was a true pro, noticed a frayed cable and had a replacement too! He actually weighed our door to calibrate the spring tension properly with three springs which saved us money. I was more than impressed. read more

Original Review-- I believe I was significantly overcharged by this company. My garage door wouldn't close one late afternoon several weeks ago and the company I've done business with in the past couldn't come out for four days. I called Advanced Garage Doors and someone came out within the hour. I was relieved because I didn't want my door open all night. The technician saw the roller had come out of the rail and suggested I get one with a longer stem so it wouldn't happen again. The problem was that I'd need not just one roller but ten, which were quite expensive. He also suggested I upgrade to a bigger drum and cable, which I did. Because of the late hour, I was not able to get another estimate, so I put my faith in the repairman and was relieved when the door could be closed for the night. However, the next morning I called the company I'd originally wanted to come out. They believed I'd been overcharged by hundreds of dollars and that the repairman had quite possibly used commercial parts meant for a much bigger door than I have. Another company I talked to also quoted me hundreds less for parts and labor, and my online research showed similar results. When I called to discuss this, the owner was very argumentative. After much back and forth, he eventually agreed to reimburse me part of the money but only if I signed a waiver to not post a negative review. I decided to decline the money and post the review so others could know about it. Honestly, if the owner had been nicer on the phone I would be writing a more positive review, which I would much rather be doing. I noticed that in several negative reviews for another company Advanced Garage Door is connected with (E. S. Garage Doors), the owner responded that he didn't have any record of doing business at the reviewers' addresses. I am certain, though, that the repairman who came to my house and fixed my door was indeed from Advanced Garage Door.
