He was professional and he did not even drop a nail on the floor. He was so attentive in picking up all the scraps and dogged for 3 hours nonstop to fix two garage openers. They did not try to sell me anything considering that I had a pretty old setup. Now I asked the tech why the door was squeaking and he advised me to change bearings if I needed. No pressure. He changed that and my door was working perfectly. He also told me to not sorry about the door and they would cover the warranty. After about 15 minutes, he provided us with different options to repair the damage and keep our door operating in tip top shape. We opted to replace both springs with a heavy duty, high-cycle spring. I have owned the original LiftMaster garage-door opener in my home since 1998. For nearly 30 years, that opener was an outstanding product--reliable, durable, and virtually flawless. It reminded me of the old AT&T telephones: built like a tank, simple, dependable, and seemingly impossible to destroy. You could drop one repeatedly and it would keep working. That kind of reliability is exactly why, when it finally came time to replace it, I wanted another LiftMaster. Unfortunately, my experience with the company that installs LiftMaster products in my area has been extremely disappointing. The pricing is excessive, and the business model appears to be heavily focused on maximizing profit rather than providing customers with fair value. Before hiring any installer, I strongly recommend doing your homework, reading the reviews, and--most importantly--getting multiple quotes. I made the mistake of assuming that staying with the same manufacturer would also mean receiving the same level of quality and integrity in the installation process. That assumption cost me. The service experience was mechanical, impersonal, and, in my opinion, far too focused on what could be charged rather than what was actually reasonable for the customer. There are undoubtedly local companies capable of providing the same service for far less money, so do not make the mistake I made of assuming that the first company representing the brand is necessarily your best option. To be fair, this review is not directed at the technicians who come to the home. My criticism is directed at the company itself, its pricing practices, its business model, and the way it chooses to treat its customers. LiftMaster built a reputation over decades by producing dependable products. My original opener is proof of that. What concerns me is that a company representing that brand can deliver such a disappointing customer experience and potentially damage the reputation that LiftMaster worked so hard to establish. LiftMaster: you have a great product. Be much more careful about who represents your brand. And to anyone considering an installation: get several quotes, read the reviews, and do not assume that the company associated with the LiftMaster name is automatically the best or most reasonably priced choice. I would give the installation company zero stars if that were an option. Unfortunately, review systems often require you to give at least one star--even when the experience does not deserve it.

All aspects of working with All Decks was excellent, from beginning to end. The workmanship of the…read morefinished deck exceeded our expectations, and every person we encountered was pleasant to work with. Our project was the installation of an 8' x 11' elevated attached deck. I had whittled my initial list of contractors down to six before choosing All Decks. Cost was competitive but was not the lowest bid. This was the third deck in this location. The previous two were wood. This time we chose to have a composite deck installed, to not have a stairway, and to have the area underneath the deck protected from rain. As this was an elevated deck, it was covered by municipal code requirements more stringent than when the previous two decks were built. We worked with Adam during our initial contact, and in designing the deck. We chose Dekorator planking, Trex handrails, and the Trex RainEscape system. We wanted to minimize supporting posts, as a competing bid would have used 6 posts, and we had seen decks on houses like ours that had 5 to 6 posts. All Decks was able to use only 2 posts by having larger-size (6"x6") posts and by attaching one side of the deck to our cantilevered 2nd floor. The All Decks showroom was extremely helpful in choosing materials and colors, and in evaluating the RainEscape system relative to alternative underdeck rain coverings. Kendall did thorough work when he visited to do the detailed yard survey required by code. The level of detail in the resulting documents was unexpected and illuminating. The three-man team led by Chris who put up the deck was professional and unobtrusive. A special challenge was attaching one side of the deck to our cantilevered 2nd floor as the current municipal code requires an exceptionally robust connection. Installing this connection required removing several plank-and-tongue grooves from under the overhang of the cantilevered 2nd floor, which is very difficult without causing damage. I was skeptical that it could be done and was pleasantly surprised to see the excellent appearance of the re-installed planking. (As expected, I repainted the reinstalled planks myself.) As for the steel-bar-reinforced concrete footings, Chris meticulously set their height so as to enable the potential future installation of a ground-level deck made from pavers. The gentleman who delivered and picked up materials and the portable toilet was discreet and careful. Crystle ensured smooth communications for scheduling, billing, etc. We are very satisfied with the All Decks team and their work.

They were affordable, knowledgeable, and very willing to work with my needs and my budget. They were able to obtain the permits that were needed which is an important and valuable service. They also took care of the structural engineering that was needed to make sure that we had sufficient support for the deck. Their showroom is very helpful. There are samples and some mockups of decks, railings, lighting, etc. There are lots of options and the staff was great about explaining the options but not pressure-upselling. I felt comfortable choosing the materials and extras with their help. After the project was finished, there was one support post that didn't look finished to me when I looked at it from our dining room window. All Decks was great about coming out. After seeing and understanding what I wanted to upgrade, they were able to install a matching trim piece that made the post look complete. The deck has been installed now since Oct 2024. It still looks great and I couldn't be happier.

We recently had them do, among other things, some drywall work, painting, security camera and Nest thermostat installation, mounting/hanging and wiring (behind walls) of a TV, adjustments to uneven and sticky doors throughout the home, repair of a non-functioning power washer, and work on a leaky toilet (again, among other things). Their range is impressive, and their craftsmanship is top notch. VERY high quality, high-grade professional work product. They even bring all of the necessary tools and materials to support whatever the need is, including materials for painting, etc. Very low lift for us as the consumer -- we really didn't have to lift a finger. The best part? All of them are incredible human beings, who are very easy to work with. Their customer service is great -- we provided our requests and instructions, and they ran with things from there and delivered exactly as we had asked. The work is clean and seamless and definitely worth the price. We couldn't ask for a better team, and we'll certainly be using Bill and his family in the future for all of our handyman needs.

When he did that, he also went above and beyond. He suggested two upgrades to the work he bid on, offering for free to provide am additional cross-brace and to use composite for the risers as well. Naturally we accepted the upgrades. He got the work completed in 2 1/2 days. Everyone who's seen the work has complimented it. If we have future projects, we'll reach out to Vertex first.

In an odd sort of way, it turned out my first choice wasn't my best choice!…read more I came across the listing and thought "OK - it's a little corny name, 'Those Tech Guys'" but honestly, if you hang around tech guys at all, you get it. I am far from a professional when it comes to IT installations, but I know enough to be dangerous. And after getting quotes to install ethernet in my 1980s circa home, one never wired for ethernet, one that just went through a significant renovation where I, in my supreme wisdom said "WiFi is great, now! Who need hardwires anymore?" was now faced with retrofitting several rooms and office with ethernet and said, this guy over here, the independent with a normal sounding company name, yeah - lets go with him! Mistake!! After schedule, and reschedule, and delays, and reschedule, we got nowhere with contractor number one. Meanwhile, Roberto and Peter at Those Tech Guys had patiently followed up several times, continued to be pleasant and professional, and AFTER I said no thank you I am going to go with someone else! So I made the dreaded call back - "So remember when I said if things change . . . " Peter was quick to jump on the phone, and walk me through things at every step. Gave me a highly competitive bid, and an install time of only a few days from when I called. They cam onsite, were clean courteous, and efficient. They played with my dog (I mean who doesn't love a bowling ball Staffy Bull Terrier mix?) and made light work of the install, and the final cost (with tip!) was even below the initial quote. This was made possible as Peter walked my home and together we found opportunities to do things more quickly, and save a few dollars along the way. In the end, I didn't choose Those Tech Guys first, but you should. No regrets here, other than I should have picked them first!

Wow! I found National Door, Inc. (NDI) based on the glowing reviews and I sure am glad I did. Another company had tried to rip me off when my garage door opener failed, so I was tentative when looking for an alternate one. NDI more than lived up to its positive reviews and my expectations with their fast, friendly, and clearly honest approach. When I called on the weekend, I spoke directly with one of the owners, Johnette. She was so friendly and took a lot of time out of her weekend to answer all my questions and make sure they followed up with me on Monday after determining if the opener I wanted that just came to market would be available. Monday morning, Shawna, the operations manager, promptly called me. They had the new model LiftMaster opener with all the bells and whistles (including internet control from a Smartphone) already in stock. They had great prices and were upfront quoting fixed pricing including labor with no surprises. They were one half the cost of the first company that tried to rip me off! We made an appointment for installation that afternoon. While the high-tech opener I wanted was new to market, their staff had already received training on it and Shawna had already personally installed one for herself. More importantly she was upfront that I would be the first customer to get one, and as such, they had no history with it regarding reliability. She too, was very friendly, and took a lot of time to explain the features, prices, and all the gadget options available for it. She said if I had any questions about the operation of the high-tech peripherals after it was installed I could call her back directly. While it's always risky to get the newest gadgets on the market, I was confident that NDI would be the best to install the opener because they are the only company in a 100 mile radius to receive the highest level "ProVantage" certification from LiftMaster. As prearranged, Chris the installer, called me 20 minutes before arriving so I could drive home from work and meet him. He arrived promptly, 20 minutes later. Also a very nice guy, and helpful, doing a few tweaks for me, completely lubricating my door, adjusting the spring tension and getting the wall controller and pin-pad all setup just the way I wanted. I was also happy to hear from Chris that in addition to LiftMaster's great parts warranty on the opener itself, NDI would take care of any labor charges if problems occur in the first year. Over the years, I always seem to have had particular issues finding reputable garage door repair companies. There seem to be so many with high prices or independent contractors that masquerade as large companies that have trouble keeping appointments and try to rip you off. What a great experience with NDI. Their website says that Dan and Janette are the proud owners. There is no doubt this is true. They clearly take pride in having a friendly and knowledgeable staff and are in the business to cultivate happy, repeat customers. My garage door fell off the track and then the cahin fell off the opener. I called National Door, and got Amber on the phone. She set an appointment for me the next day in a 2 hour time slot that worked for me. They had a set fee for the service call, and Amber pointed out the internet discount coupon. The next day, Chris, the service tech, called me and firmed up to a 30 minute window the time he would arrive. He arrived promptly at the time he set. Chris serviced the door, and tried to rescue the opener, but a plastic sprocket was broken on the opener, so it needed to be replaced. He did not have the right size track in his truck for our door, so he needed to come back the next day. I decided to replace a second opener as long as he was coming out with more parts. Chris called Amber, and since I was replacing 2 openers, she gave me a deal on some bonus features. Chris arrived the next day exactly when he said he would, and replaced both openers. He also helped me program my car buttons, so I was back in business right away. Chris and Amber were extremely customer service oriented, and made the whole thing as painless as possible. If the 3rd garage door opener ever dies, I will be calling National Door, again. I highly recommend them. read more

NDI and Dan Pevarwick are amazing. We arrived home from Mexico at 9pm and with two babies in the car, grumpy and starving. The flight was a long one and we were so glad to be finally home. We pulled up to our home in Woodinville aching to get settled after a long flight and...our garage door would not open. I remembered seeing a NDI service truck in our neighborhood over a year ago and so I called on a Friday night after 10pm. Dan answers, tries to troubleshoot with my husband on the phone (who does that anymore??) and even through we had no luck, Dan scheduled to be at our home the very next morning to see if a repair could be accomplished. BOOM! Saturday afternoon. Torsion spring broke. Dang, that's loud when it goes. I'm very handy and industrious around the house, but without the right tools, a torsion spring job can take a whole day, and possibly hurt you...and still not be right. Ok - used Yelp. Found a garage door installer/repair place in Redmond. Looks good, but how fast and correct, for the right cost, could it be? Called on a weekend. Not an immediate, or emergency service job, but expected a call back sometime during the following week. Johnette contacted me right away, discussed my issue, quoted a flat rate on the repair, and could be here MONDAY. Amazing. I am the manager for an apt. building in Mapleleaf neighborhood, Seattle. This is the second time we have used services from National Door. The first time we had a new motor put in, great service. This time one of our tenants hit the garage door and actually cracked the door. To make matters worse someone else tried to use it and it got stuck open halfway. Two of us had our cars inside and had to get out the next morning for work. All of National's technicians were busy the next day, so Paul, the service manager came out at 7:30 in the morning to strap the door and unbend the rails so we could get out. Thank you Paul!!!! My garage door stopped working several weeks ago and I stopped using it as I didn't want to incur a great deal of expense in fixing it. Finally I resigned msyelf to getting it fixed and saw the reviews for National Door Inc. on Yelp and phoned. First impressions were great with Johnette who was very helpful. Dan the owner came out on the scheduled day. Very nice guy. He saw that the springs needed replacing, gave some advice and a very reasonable quote. There are some people that you meet them and you make a judgment call if you are getting good work and a fair price. That is the case with Dan. He is passionate about his work and very fair in pricing. As he finalized the work he was like a master craftsman adjusting the tension and door opener millimeters of turns to get it just right. Jeff did a perfect job on my garage door repair this morning. My garage door vertical track was damaged by the door of my car. I hired the other company to fix it and they charged me a lot but didn't get things done (see the other review of me - though this review as not recommended by Yelp so was hidden - that company did put LOTS OF ads on Yelp) and refused to come back to fix it. I have to find someone else and the got National Door, which is very close to my home. Jeff looks very professional and fixed the bad track installation and get it well aligned. The other company said it cannot fixed without additional charge because my car hit the door, but actually my car only hit the track. I was charged with a reasonable rate. Super company to deal with. I have dealt with some poor garage door businesses in the past who try to lure you in with a cheap price and then try to stick it to you. Not this company! Dan gives you a quote and the price he gave is the price I paid. I had a broken spring and he came out same day to repair it. I also had them replace my opener and had no problems with getting it done in a timely fashion. Beware of other companies and try National Door. There is a reason other companies can't give you a quote on the phone--they want to rip you off! They figure that once they are there, they got you. To say this company provided prompt and very professional service and a terrific price would be a gross understatement. Not to sound cliche in any way but that was my experience that started Thursday late afternoon and culminated with a very prompt and professional install of a new double garage door this morning (Monday). She quickly helped identify my problem and scheduled me within just a couple days. Price very fair. Jeff was my installer. The power went out in my neighborhood on 12/17/10. I had a very busy schedule on Saturday morning, but one problem- my car was parked in the garage! I saw a sticker on my garage for National Door and gave them a call. The owner took my call on Saturday morning while he was Christmas shopping. Dan is great in helping us fixing our door opener issue, we were having a opener issue, and the door will not close, and it's Sunday, I was trying my luck by just sending a request to National Door, to my surprise, Dan called back in like 10 mins, and offered his help on the phone, and I was able to troubleshoot the issue myself by following Dan's instruction and fix the problem. National Door just completed working on our garage and they are the best find! I had reported that one of the cables snapped and the spring broke in 2 places. Apparently the cable didn't break rather with reduced tension caused by the broken spring it loosened the cable and it came off. Trust me, just call this one…read more I got inspection/quotes from a few other garage door shops before Isaac from Instant Garage Door Repair (AKA A.M.B. Garage Doors, they merged apparently). They all found the very obvious issue (door arm was missing) and said "yeah we'll need to replace the entire thing". Isaac actually open/closed the door a few times, looked where it might be catching or rubbing, checked the roller wheels and springs, door alignment, etc. Isaac very clearly knows garage doors -- and he delivered. He was able to service the main maintenance in like 40 minutes; it went from being impossible for my partner to open/close manually to being almost no effort (and it's a heavy door)! In addition, there was a broken and missing piece of plastic where the door arm normally connects... he was able to CUSTOM CRAFT a small piece of metal that fits perfectly into where the missing piece was, removing the need to replace the otherwise-functional system! All of this ran us half what other places quoted us for the full system replacement, and none of them even talked about realigning the door or upgrading rollers or anything, and he did it without needing to schedule another day.
