Although it shows up as Rainbow Donuts in searches. Their sign actually says Donut Deli... I went here later on a Friday night and it was not very good. The dining area wasn't very clean, and the service wasn't good. As for the donuts, they were expensive and bad. They tasted like bread with old frosting on them. There are definitely places in the area with better donuts and service. They do however have a wide range of other products from frozen beverages to cigarettes to ramen. read more

Since it's National Donut Day and I haven't had a donut in years I decided that I would go and finally have one! I went to this donut shop because I've drove by so many times. I checked out the yelp review and it's pretty good so I went in. There were so many donuts to choose from! I felt like a kid in a candy shop lol. Anyhoot, I choose the blueberry donut. I've only had the blueberry donut from m&m so that's the only one I can compare it to. It tastes a like but not as sweet, which is good! I don't eat sweets too often because it's too sweet for me. I hate it when I can't eat just one whole donut or scoop of ice cream when I decide to indulge. I ate the whole donut and it was satisfying. The worker recommended my boyfriend to get the breakfast burrito with their secret sauce! When the burrito came out, it was huge! WOW! Blueberry donuts here are amazing... I've had them at other places in the OC at the popular M&M or donuttery but Rainbow donuts walks all over them. The blueberry donuts are crispy ish on the outside and soft on the inside. I for one do not care for warm donuts so it was even better that they weren't fresh off the pan. The glaze isn't super heavy and super sweet it was just right and complimented the donut very well. They don't just make better blueberry but overall all of their donuts are better. The staff is incredibly friendly and the prices are cheap. Seriously if you haven't tried the blueberry here then you are missing out, don't bite into the hype at the other places! read more

Here's my opinion. Forget M&M's oily donuts and absurdly long waits. Come here for deliciously glazed blueberry donuts! I can taste the blueberries so much more than M&M's. Every time I bring donuts for my coworkers I always go here! Primarily because it's close in proximity to the freeway and where I live. The lady at the front is always nice and willing to help. This place is ran by really nice people! Ive been wanting a blueberry donut for a while now and the donuttery in huntington beach was too far so the hubby told me about this spot. Came here late night and the guy sleeping inside kinda freaked me out but we still went in. The guy behind the counter was very nice and smiled the entire time which was so nice to see since you dont really see that anymore. We ordered 2 blueberry donuts, 2 blueberry donuts with the glaze/icing on top, and 2 french crullers (hubby loves them). The french crullers were hot and fresh. They were good but they were so fresh you can taste the oil in it. I dont know if i like that part. But it was pretty good. The blueberry donut wasnt fresh but it was good. Very friendly staff. Mom-and-pop atmosphere. I think with some investments into their interior would really bring out their potential. I tried their matcha donuts. They were okay: just tasted like regular donuts with some cream smeared on top, which didn't make it too special to me. I think the Oreo-Matcha is more worth it. I'd like to start off by saying that there is no pot of gold at the end of this Rainbow. It's unfortunate really seeing as there is potential and the location of this donut establishment is primo. But when the customer service resembles that of a fire breathing dragon, you realize you've entered the wrong fairy tale and you can't pay and get your enchanted ass out of there fast enough. My co-worker brought in blueberry cake donuts from Rainbow Donuts. They were fantastic. My office mates gobbled them up quickly, although that's not a rare occurrence. I almost was too late to snag one, but I arrived on the scene just in time thanks to a tip from my next-cube neighbor. I've had a couple more since, and I am in love. I got to say Johnny absolutely went above and beyond to make sure my previous experience here was turned completely around. He took the time to explain that the hours have been changed for quite a while, so being open as early as they were the time I came meant that the man working was so busy. He made sure the doughnuts were fresh, and fast service. I appreciate your kindness and thank you for making this experience one of the best that I have had ever here! I will be returning after 5 am to get doughnuts for my team again. I don't know who this new guy is that is working in the mornings this week but he must really be unhappy with his work schedule. I went on Monday 9/18 and nothing was ready, I got a dozen for my cast and some doughnuts were stale and old. Not to mention I had to ask to get a receipt when paying with card! I decided to give it another chance so I went again this morning 9/22 and a man and woman were already waiting so I went right behind them. The same guy from Monday did not even acknowledge our existence, the man that was waiting with the girl says that this man that was working does this to them every morning. "He just ignores us and when he finally helps us he is rude and acts like we annoy him". And to top it off this place is 24 hours and the racks were empty again! I ended up leaving, I will not allow him to treat me he way he is treating other customers. I want the other man back! Get rid of this man or put him on the day shift. I was blown away by their blueberry donut. It was my first time trying one so I don't have other donut shops to compare it to, but it left the greatest impression on me. I really liked the natural blueberry flavor and soft texture. My toddler picked out a cake donut with rainbow sprinkles which had the same soft texture. It was so good that I finished her leftovers after eating my donut. I usually hate cake donuts because it's hard and grainy everywhere else but not here. Service is good and friendly. The debut of their matcha (green tea) donuts were okay. I would have preferred a more pronounced matcha flavor. Way too subtle for me. You wouldn't recognize the flavor unless you really have to slowly and deliberately "taste" for the matcha. But their blueberry donuts were wonderful!!! Yummy-licious. I recently wrote a pretty negative review about this place and now I must make an amendment. I was completely wrong about the blueberry donuts. The first one I had was not fresh out of the oven and yeah, it wasn't anything special, however- I did stop by on another occasion- to buy lottery tickets, of all things. Side note: This place is supposedly pretty lucky from what I've heard. Anyway, as we were paying for the tickets, the blueberry donuts caught my eye and I decided to give it another shot- they seemed like they were freshly baked. The verdict: the blueberry donut IS amazing! I finally got what the hype was all about. You have to get them fresh, when they're still warm. Mmm. They are lightly crisp on the outside and so soft on the inside. The texture variation in combination with the burst of flavors was incredible. I'm a believer now. If you miss that window of opportunity to get a warm donut- my advice is to buy one anyway and throw it in a toaster oven at home for a few seconds. You'll get the warm, crispy yet soft, effect you're looking for. How amazing is it really? I'm giving this place 4 stars, solely based on the blueberry donut. It doesn't get any better.
