Date night is usually movie but we felt more adventurous so decided to try the newest Cajun place in town. We were seated immediately and the waiter arrived shortly after. We ordered and the food arrived quickly. I had the BBQ oysters and one of their signature dishes - Who Dat Catfish, while my wife had their eponymous dish (Red Beans and Rice) and lagniappe salad. The oysters ($15) were very good - breaded and fried with "Crystal beurre Blanc" and a large cup of blue cheese. The Catfish ($22) was good - not great - but was cooked excellently. The Red Beans and Rice were pronounced excellent - and this is a girl who knows this dish. The salad ($6 or 13) was good. The service was prompt, helpful and efficient. Portions were adequate. Ambiance is that of a middle-of-the-road restaurant. I will try to visit again to see if I was being stingy with the rating stars, but this isn't cheap (our bill - everything above, plus one beer - was $70 before tip), so will have to be a bit more wise with our items. read more

Over two nights I've tried the following: Red Beans and Rice: really good. The sausage has fantastic flavor. However, DON'T ORDER THE ENTREE!. You get less than if you order two sides but pay $5 more. Seafood Gumbo: Not bad. Shrimp was fishy, small and a little tough. Overall I feel it was average. Crawfish Etouffee: Very small amount of crawfish, but pretty good flavor. Blackened Chicken Alfredo: Really good, lots of flavor and healthy portion. Very balanced amount of spice. Cochon de Lait po boy: Pork was very flavorful and smoky. Coleslaw was tasty as well. It's a pretty decent sandwich. The service has been great and the staff is extremely friendly. Although I have previously had a positive eating experience with Ragin' Cajun, my wife and I received horribly disgusting food last night. Specifically, we used Uber Eats for two orders of Creole Jambalaya. What we received was gooey glop that was sooo saturated with salt that we were unable to eat the food. Gumbo is awesome. Catfish and shrimp po'boys are very good with the Nola bread. Service was prompt and servers suggestions were helpful. When I saw the Crystal hot sauce I was reminded of New Orleans restaurants where it's prevalent. We will be back soon, wish the restaurant was closer to East Memphis. read more

This was our first trip to this new restaurant, my wife and I decided to be less adventurous and try the boudin balls, seafood gumbo, and Who Dat Catfish. If I had a complaint, it would be that 4 boudin balls (@ $10.50) should be called a tease, not an appetizer. The seafood gumbo was very tasty. As for the Who Dat Catfish, it featured a very tasty sauce I could not get enough of! We overhearrd the folks at the table behind us saying that the Bloody Mary was "not good at all", so ask for a sample before you go for the bottomless Sunday special. read more

Great friendly staff greets you. A cool atmosphere, this is my new favorite Bartlett hang out spot. The waitstaff is great, the menu has something for everyone even if you don't like Cajun food, there's other items on the menu to choose from. The food is really excellent. There's a cute side bar, the cocktails are excellent!! We had a bartender named Dara who is soooo fun, we love her! She really made our experience great. I highly recommend this place and I hope they make it there cause Bartlett really needed a place like this!! read more

FINALLY!!! I finally found a great tasting authentic Cajun restaurant! It is so hard to find good Cajun food outside of Louisiana, but Ragin Cajun nails it. I sampled the chicken & sausage gumbo, red beans & rice, & jambalaya & they were all spot on. I am confident everything else will be authentic & really well done. All staff were incredibly polite & responsive & Brady was an awesome server. I have told all my Cajun loving friends about it already & will definitley be back myself. Not worth it. I ordered the blackened chicken pasta thinking that the portions would be appropriate for the pricing of $22 via doordash, and was greatly disappointed. I will never shop this restaurant again. I called the store and asked the manager why the price point was $22 for a dish that should be no more than $10. He expressed that he justifies the price as "we are trying to make money" I was displeased with his response. I advised the manager this whole meal could be recreated for $5 at home. Please understand my grief is justifiable because the dish does not even contain a full chicken breast, only half a chicken breast. Please if you are concerned about value for your dollar, this is not the establishment to go to. Save your money and go elsewhere. The people were very nice but the table and condiment bottle was super sticky. Sandwiches are great but the shrimp and grits not so much. Almost no grits and so much juice from the shrimp it washed away what little bit of grits that were there. The shrimp were good though. Just puzzling why they skimp so bad on the grits. Who Dat Catfish is my go to. Nice portion size, well seasoned and the étoufée compliments nicely. I'd like is a bit spicier but that's my preference while the business has to accommodate a variety of people. The staff is attentive and the restaurant is clean. The poboys were great! I ordered a bowl of the seafood gumbo as well, and it had the smallest shrimp I ever seen in my life. The taste was okay but I didn't have 1 piece sausage in my bowl. The food is okay but if I pay $16 for a bowl of gumbo I want it to have some real shrimp in it and sausage. I won't be going back! read more

Ate here for lunch. Ambiance was casual with a few TVs and Louisiana music. Ordered half catfish, half oyster poboy. Typically, half the poboy has the oysters, the other half has the catfish. Instead, came with shrimp and oysters and mixed on both sides. Not typical from where I'm from, south Louisiana. Came "dressed" and the bread was supposedly from Leidenheimer so that was great. Service was good but server didn't write anything down. I'd still recommend the restaurant. Give em a try. read more

Went there last night with friends. Having lived in Gretna, LA, where the owner, Mason Jambon is from, I can honestly say that the food was as good as any I had in Louisiana. We only had po-boys(shrimp, oyster, catfish) fries and gumbo but everything was great and we'll be returning to try the seafood platters, bbq oysters and probably everything else eventually!. Service was attentive and efficient, and every staff member we dealt with was friendly , including the nice lady who came to the table and apologized for a short delay in my friend getting his beer. On the way out, we chatted with Mason about his life in the restaurant business and his love of Louisiana food and his talent in preparing it. As a side note, Mason is a partner in the Ramble, a Railgarten-related music venue that will open in Bartlett this year. Can't wait to attend some shows there, and to return to Ragin'Cajun for more tastes of Louisiana. read more
