Key components for a great surgeon: calm, cool, collected, and sincere. I had surgery a few days ago and I told him I was nervous and he just looks at me and responds with "Well, I'm not." And I love that! Obviously you want your surgeon to be really chill before surgery and confident. And he certainly was. Sure he's not a big talker but he has good energy and makes me feel safe. When he told me I needed surgery I just said ok let's do it. I didn't need a second opinion because I grew instant trust. He's really attentive and he will never leave a question unanswered. He sits patiently and opens himself up for questions and concerns, never rushes you out. And it's true, he gives his cell number to his patients. He told me never to hesitate to ask anything, and since then I've asked a couple questions regarding recovery and he answered right away, I was shocked! So great. As far as the wait, I don't know if it was because it was my follow-up right after surgery, but I waited no more than five minutes the other day. Before I've had to wait a while but guys that's a GOOD sign because as I said, he's attentive and doesn't rush his patients! Love him, and Hector/his staff are really helpful as well! read more

Dr. Mesrobian, his staff and his surgical team ROCK. Not only is Dr. Mesrobian top notch in his knowledge and his professionalism, but he is a kind and compassionate human being. I was diagnosed with Papillary Thyroid Cancer on April 9th, 2013. I was referred to Dr. Mesrobian by my Endocrinologist for surgery to remove my thyroid. Needless to say, none of this excited me. Not cancer and certainly not the idea of getting sliced open like a grapefruit. The first time I went to see Dr. Mesrobian, my husband and best friend came with me to make sure we got all our questions answered and to see if this surgeon would be a good fit for me. We did indeed wait a hot minute before getting to see him. And when he came into the room, I immediately found out why. He is PRESENT. When Dr. Mesrobian is in the room with a patient, he is solely focused on that patient. This surgeon spent almost 30 minutes answering a myriad of questions the three of us had and not once did he act like he had more important places to be or treat us like we were wasting his time. So is there a wait to see him sometimes? YES. Because the man is thorough with each of us who goes to see him. I'd rather wait 30 minutes for someone who's going to take my concerns seriously than wait 3 minutes for someone who's going to treat me like I'm on a fast food conveyor belt. The surgery went off without a hitch. I am now minus one cancerous thyroid and one cancerous lymph node and it's because Dr. Mesrobian and his entire team of human beings took me seriously, took their jobs seriously and they're GOOD AT WHAT THEY DO. My scar is shrinking daily and healing quickly. Every floor nurse that I had during my overnight stay raved about how lucky I was to have had him as a surgeon. And those nurses were RIGHT. read more

Had an appointment at 3 pm ... After waiting an hour and half ... I asked the receptionist if I was next to be seen ... She told me that there were 3 people ahead of me .. I came to find out that those peoples appointment was at 3.30. So basically my appointment time did not matter at all ... I asked the receptionist what the purpose of giving appointments was and she told Me that the Doctor is constantly running behind schedule and there is nothing they can do ... Every time I go to Dr. Mesrobian, I resolve to write a review and then I promptly forget. What I want to say is that he is a true healer. He is a doctor who takes his time with his patients. He listens to my concerns. He never rushes me. It is true that his waiting room is full of people who are anxious to see him. What I am here to tell you is that is it it is worth the wait and that he will take his time with you just as you have used your time waiting to see him. He is patient, knowledgeable, and kind. Wait time is long, at least an hour. Staff is incompetent. Don't expect any paperwork to be filled out unless you are standing there, and then make sure to review it before you leave. My son had been sick for over a week. Two trips to Rapid Care and two emergency trips to the hospital and he was not getting any better. He was diagnosed from having strep throat to mono to having a bad throat infection. Rapid Care and ER gave him antibiotics, a penicillin shot, a steroid shot and nothing worked. My son lost over 16 pounds in one week. He went from weighing 135 pounds to 118 pounds a week later. He could not eat or drink anything as the pain was so bad. Finally decided to call an ENT specialist and first one gave us an appt for 2 weeks out. We decided to go across the street to Dr. Mesrobian's office. We explained the situation and what my son was going through for the past week, receptionist was super nice and accommodating and had us wait the 2 patients that had appts but stated that Dr. Mesrobian would see my son. The Dr. took one look down my son's throat and stated that he was going to admit him into the hospital right away as my son had an abscess and needed attention and IV antibiotics immediately. My son was admitted into the hospital (same hospital that we went to ER twice and they couldn't figure out what was wrong). Anyway he was admitted and Dr. Mesrobian performed a procedure that drained the abscess. Immediately the pressure my son had in his throat was alleviated. He had to stay in the hospital over night but by the next day he was feeling and looking much better. It is now a week since he was admitted and my son is now able to eat and drink and the infection is gone. We just did a follow up with Dr.Mesrobian and I can tell you that we are so glad that he made the time to see my son when he did. We can not express how grateful we are and can not imagine what would have happened if he was not been seen by a ENT specialist. Thank you Dr. Mesrobian and staff - we can not thank you enough. I've gone to Dr. Mesrobian since at least 2006 (I still have that 2006 dated appointment card in my rolodex, and I may have been there even before that) and have always been 100% satisfied on all my visits. My main ear issue is I get a lot of ear wax and my ears will eventually get clogged up, and I should have really gone here annually to keep that in control, but I was lax the last few years. Anyway, my ears started to get really bad a day or so ago, and anyone who has had a clogged ear will know it's completely debilitating, so I called and the nice receptionist (Rosa, or Rosie, I believe) was very friendly and helpful and she was able to work me in the very next morning before the weekend. Thank you! And my appointment was at 10:15 and I was called in early to see the doctor, at 10:00. Wow! Dr. Mesrobian is always calm, polite, and thorough. My ear wax was pretty bad this time, and he had to spend a lot more time than usual using the suction thing and other tools to clean it all out. I was apologizing, but he said 'no worries, that's what we're here for', and he was absolutely so patient and nice, and wasn't rushing, and it was nice to get that soothing personal attention. It's possible patients like me where the doctor has to unexpectedly spend more time on than usual can delay a later appointment a bit, and that's just how it happens, and that's the way it should be where every patient gets his full attention. I came last week because I had a sinus and ear infection that wasn't getting better. I was surprised at how quickly I was seen (the waiting room was totally empty). Now I'm back for what I thought would be a quick follow up appt to check my ear, but the waiting room was packed and it's already been 30 minutes. I heard the receptionist say how overbooked they are on the phone. That doesn't make me feel very good about how long they keep people waiting. Other people here have been waiting for over an hour and seem pretty impatient. I had one good experience but knowing how bad the wait can be makes me hesitant to come back here. I have way better things to do than sit here to have a 2 second appt that I probably don't even need. If i hadn't already paid my deductible I would consider bailing at this point. read more

I never had a doctor like him,pleasant and care about me to cure my ears as much as possible,I am very happy happy with him.

I thought I had BPPV (a minor form of vertigo) but wasnt sure so I figured it was a good idea to see an ear doc. Even with an appointment I waited a long time, there were MANY patients waiting. When I was finally seen it was very quick. Dr Mesrobian barely checked me. He looked in my ears and agreed BPPV probably what it was but didn't do the head or eye check to confirm it. And when I asked him questions like "how often should I do the BPPV exercises?" he was extremely vague- he said "a few times" and "any should work". He scheduled me for a hearing test just in case. Each visit was $70 (you have to pay cash or check, if you pay with a credit card it costs more) and I got an additional bill for $90 for the heating test. When my symptoms weren't completely clear, Dr Mesrobian tried to schedule me for a third appointment which I canceled because I wasn't about to spend that money on lack of care or what he should have checked the first time. I'm very disappointed. Had he just taken the necessary step to do a 5 second eye and head check, it could have saved me hundreds of dollars. read more

I had a great experience with Dr. Mesrobian. I came to Dr. Mesrobian to have him look at a cyst on my neck. He looked at it and said it was probably nothing but would like to get an MRI to be sure. Either way we should remove it. I saw him on a Monday. The MRI was scheduled for Wednesday. The followup was that Friday. That next Tuesday he had me in surgery, and was very personable every step of the way. Everyone I met at the hospital raved about Dr. Mesrobian. And whenever I called the office, Dr. Mesrobian was always available to answer my questions. He is a soft spoken gentleman and a great doctor. read more

I have seen Dr. Mesrobian a few times now, and he is always very thorough and informative. His diagnoses have been spot on each time, and my issues have resolved in a single visit. Dr. Mesrobian even gave me his cell phone number in case I ever have questions following my appointment. His quality and expertise for me are definitely worth the wait. One final note, the office prefers cash or check for fees and copays. They will charge you an additional $2 for using a card, and they do not validate for the parking lot attached to the building. read more

He is a very terrible doctor. He doesn't really care about his patients. He is all about making money. He did not diagnose my issue correctly and he acted as if he knew what he was doing. I had to do a second surgery with a different doctor to solve my issue. I would highly suggest to seek a different doctor for your problem. read more

Before I dive into my substandard experience with this doctor and his staff, I feel a responsibility to first touch on the fact that I have filed a complaint with the California Medical board, not because of the care I did or did not receive, but because this office is guilty of fraud. On the arbitration agreement I filled out as a new patient, a staffer signed my initials on an optional clause that I chose not to agree to. When I confronted the office manager about this incident, she tried to downplay this malpractice by explaining the staffer was merely trying to "complete the form." In regards to the actual care I received, I arrived 15 minutes early for my appointment so that I could deal with all necessary paperwork to see the doctor as quickly as possible. When I stepped into the waiting room, it was packed (easily 8 or more patients), and something about the mood told me I was in for the long haul. It wasn't until about 45 minutes past my appointment time that I realized what I was really in for. About this time, I started talking to the girl next to me, and as we joked about the wait, she told me she didn't actually have an appointment. She just walked in and they told her they could see her at 4:30 (my appointment was at 4:45). I asked her when she arrived, and she pointed out that she came in right behind me. So, when the doctor was already an hour behind, they took a walk-in despite having a full line up of patient appointments left to go. The walk-in was seen before I was. Finally when I got to see the doctor himself (after over an hour wait), I was in and out in less than 10 minutes, and all he did was tell me to go to a lab to get a test. After sitting in his office for almost an hour after my appointment time I was shown into a room. I explained that I was having trouble with my jaw and asked if he treated TMJ. He said "yes and no." I was a little disheartened after the lady who made my appointment told me he did work with TMJ patients but explained my symptoms. He told me that I needed to treat the symptoms by going into therapy for stress management! Then he told me that I should take Flexeril. This "doctor" wanted to give me muscle relaxers without even giving me a diagnosis! I'm appalled by his lack of professionalism. read more

Just to update, I went to get a second opinion from another ENT. Dr. Mesrobian looked at my tonsil with a flashlight and then told me that the only way to deal with it was to have my tonsils removed. The second doctor actually did a thorough examination, then removed the growth in a simple, in office procedure, and it was all taken care of. In addition, I've now received a bill from Mesrobian for an additional $126 for some reason. I really think this is a big scam - they overbook, get people in and out as soon as possible so they can collect as many payments as possible, and try to get people to get expensive, unnecessary procedures. First and foremost, all the terrible reviews you find online about Dr. Mesrobian's incredibly rude staff is all true. Every now and then I put myself in a frenzy by thinking of my experience. I went to Dr. Mesrobian for a deviated septum (a real one, not an excuse for a nose job). He was referred to me by my amazing primary care provider, Dr. Sharad Patel. Anyhow, Dr. Mesrobian told me he looooved to operate so I decided to let him chisel the inside of my nostrils into a straight line and reduce the size of my turbinates for the promise of steady air flow and allergy relief. Young, naive and un-tutored in the structure of my PPO, I stupidly let them talk me into giving them an illegal co-pay for my pre-op appointment. It's been 3 years but I'm still harboring resentment. Hekda knew it was wrong and she took it with a smile on her face. During my pre-op Dr. Mesrobian told me he'd see me for free for a follow-up visit because I told him I wanted to find a new job and might not have health insurance. He cancelled my post-op appointment on the day of the appointment and I never got to see him again. This was in 2007. Recently, I made an appointment to go see him because my nasal problems have not improved and I wanted to review other options. The girl at the front desk would not let me see him about the "no charge" promise and went so far as to raise her voice at me and throw in some glares. I left him a note and still haven't heard from him. Support staff attitude aside, my experience wouldn't be so negative if he just completed his duty and gave me a post-op follow up. For all I know my septum could be completely deformed and maybe that's the reason my breathing hasn't improved and he doesn't want to see me because he's aware of his shoddy work. I'll just have to find a different ENT later. For the record, I do not recommend Dr. Mesrobian for all of the above reasons. Unfortunately for him, the bad nature of his staff is not compensated by the quality of his work. There is no saving grace in that office. read more

My experience with Dr. Mesrobian was horrible. I was recommended to him by my primary care physician for an on-going problem with my ear. During our initial meeting, he didn't seem to listen to most of what I was describing and just said "sometimes ears don't work very well." Then his cell phone rang & he answered the call. Started talking for a moment then said he was going to take this outside. He left me in examination room for 10-15 minutes and just walked back in (without an excuse or apology for taking the call) and said that I should have my hearing tested by their in-house lab. I had the test performed (on a separate visit) and saw the doctor again. He looked at the results (which showed very good hearing) and asked "why did you want to have your hearing tested?" I told him that he ordered the test & he just said, "oh, yes, but these results are fine... ... sometimes ears just don't work very well." Priceless. Avoid this doctor at all costs. There are plenty of true professionals in L.A. [In other news, the in-house lab tech was quite pleasant & professional.] read more
