They scheduled me a sinus CT and I drove all the way inland (30 min drive in traffic) only to get there and for them to say my insurance won't cover their scan and I have to schedule it elsewhere. Like excuse the eff outta me? I just wasted my time and gas money for what? Because you couldn't call to inform me this days ahead of time? I spoke to their supervisor and all he said was he's sorry. Okay and ? So I thought it was a one time blip. Unfortunately, it wasn't. Then today I had a quick phone call with a sleep PA who prescribed the home sleep study I already knew I needed (bureaucratic BS for $). Him and the OUTSOURCED call center said I would be able to pick up the study today (it's a watch) at the Hollywood location. I drove all the way there, found parking (not easy in LA as you know), went up to the 6th floor only to find it locked. Apparently they're closed Mondays and yet their call center said to go there?? They're not even told the clinic's hours??? I made that appointment to pick up the study and they failed again. I went next door to see if they knew anything but they didn't. SO I called the call center again (who btw called me 4+ times just to "go over the virtual sleep study"??? which is literally just a watch with an app) and told them I drove there and wasted my time and gas AGAIN second week in a row for them. So the girl next door told me their east LA office is open and since I have a very busy schedule and had a few more hours to spare, I drove the 35 minutes to their East LA location. Unfortunately they don't make anything simple so I get to their office ten minutes before closing. Front desk lady wasn't bad but I told her I came to pick up the watch/sleep study and she got another lady (her boss I presume?? no communication) who said they couldn't activate the watch without my name on some list and the only people who had access to that list were the outsourced call center. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. Despite me explaining my last few hours, she basically said she can't do anything until they put my name on that list, but she said she would reach out online & that she had no phone number to call. SO I called the call center AGAIN only for them to say they're "sorry for the convenience and I'll reach out to the appropriate party." I waited awhile on the phone only for them to say they're not hearing a response back. After quite some time & me ready to call it quits on this whole clinic, he said the person finally put my name on the list. WHY DO YOU HAVE TO PULL TEETH TO GET ANYTHING DONE HERE? I don't think I would trust any of their surgeons/surgeries if this is how their clinics are run.

There is a cost for each office visit, plus an additional cost for services rendered. They did not take insurance, from what I remember. They have parking but you may end up paying if you stay for too long. There's also street parking available, if you can swing it. Highly recommend getting your ear maintenance needs here.

I was very impressed that the team adhered to surgery schedule and even kept is updated when they discovered that the surgery would start 10 minutes after the schedule time. From check in, pre-op, to operation a 10 minute delay is nothing at all considered all the preparation and staff that are involved with surgical procedures. The pre-op staff including the various nurses that checked in, made a ballon Spider-Man to make my son smile , and kept us updated were great. The anesthesiologist also checked in several times and was helpful. Our surgeon was Dr. Brown. He talked to us before and after the procedure. His surgical write up was very detailed and included information that we provided to him that morning. I appreciated the thoroughness and details in his report and am grateful for his help in this successful surgery. The only thing that keeps me from giving the facility 5 stars is the parking situation. Street parking is very difficult to find especially on street sweeping days. The parking rates are very expensive. Aside from the parking I was very impressed and satisfied with the efficiency, friendly staff, and professionalism of the surgical team.

I told him not to let her know, but I am going to come and surprise her, to see her and the new bundle of joy. I was kind of surprised because she wasn't due until next month. Baby arrived early. So, I went to see them. Signed in at the front desk, got a pass and went up on the elevator. As I walked in, my friend was so surprised to see me. We both burst into tears and they were tears of joy! I got their baby girl flowers and balloons. The nurse was changing the baby's diaper and mom was exhausted and was under some pain killers. She had a C-Section. They named her Victoria. Baby weight 7lbs, 12 inches. A healthy, bouncy, baby girl. Office staff were very attentive, helpful, kind, and gave excellent care for the baby and the family. I also gave birth to our son here at this clean, beautiful facility and just went down the memory lane. That was almost 30 years ago. Has parking structure, Starbucks, Vending machines, few eateries, Cafe, few restrooms in the lobby, the main lobby itself was pretty clean & big. They have a cafeteria, gift shop and I am sure other amenities on different floors for patients with different conditions. Thank you staff at Kaiser Permanente. You guys are AWESOME!!

He explains the process as you go along in very simple straightforward terms so you can readily understand what is happening. His ear suction treatment has helped me tremendously. He even prescribed me ear drops that softened my ear wax so it could be easily removed by office treatments. I got my hearing tested here today and they put me at ease that my hearing is within a normal range. It actually greatly improved after the ear suction treatments. My brain fog and dizziness while night driving is 95 percent improved! I'd say my ear health has improved by 100%, and that is very important because our ears, nose, and throat is all connected. I'd even say my breathing has greatly improved. My office experience is really good and his front desk secretary is very welcoming and accommodating.

His broad scope of expertise, humanity, tact, and sense of humor have made a lasting positive impact on my life. Like most of his other patients, I can say without hesitation that I consider him and Peggy to be a part of my extended family. I will never forget receiving an unprompted call from Dr. H late in the evening many years ago after they learned of a sudden health crisis that my parent suffered. Thankfully, my parent's crisis eventually resolved; but that brief check-in from Dr. H touched me deeply. I knew that I was not alone and that he genuinely cared. Unheard of in modern medicine, when you call their office after-hours and connect with the emergency line, the phone rings at Dr. H's house. They trust their patients not to abuse that access; but the small number of times that my family needed it, Peggy and Dr. H were on the other end of the line, providing useful information and reassurance, even at 4AM. My experience as a patient of Dr. H's played no small role in my own journey towards becoming a physician. I often find myself trying to recall one of his totally unique and pithy one-liner jokes when I need to break the ice with a new patient. Family practices like this one are virtually impossible to find these days. The world would be a much better place if everyone had a medical team like Dr. Horowitz and Peggy.

With covid and how things are run differently now, communication is KEY! Peggy sent me all the health forms that needed to be completed in a timely manner via email. She was wonderful at responding to my emails, and she made things so easy! They went out of their way to see me in person in a really short notice as my visit required necessary clearance for my nursing program. They only have certain days for appointments but she made an exception for me as my work schedule conflicted with their in-person office visits. Peggy also sent me my labs on a Saturday as I requested if she could send it to me as soon as they receive it.. they are closed on Saturdays and she did that for me (I am so grateful!). I also want to say that I drove from Monterey Park to Dr. Horowitz's office on a Friday during the time that there is so much traffic (traffic alone in this area if you already know is hideous) but I would do it again!
