Everyone at the office is friendly and kind. Dr Horowitz talks A LOT, he jokes, he's opinionated, he's great. Glad to find a genuine doctor.

Do you accept Blue Cross, covered California PPO?

There are several plans. Please call us at 323-666-5550 for confirmation of network participation in your plan.

Good morning do you except Medi-Cal?

We are not any any medical networks. Most of medical programs are HMOs

Hello. Are you accepting new patients?

    Yes.

Do you take covered California insurance?

They accept Health Net on Covered CA as of 2019.

How come I don't have the option to message you on yelp anymore?

My guess? Medical care is a private matter to be handled discreetly and in person rather than on a internet forum. They are also very busy. Just call the offices direct. Good luck.

I just want you to know I love you so much that I'm switching insurances just so I can see you again. I literally cried when I found out my previous insurance doesn't cover you. Anyways, I have one question for you. Do u know how I can get my…

This is my first review ever...and I'm sad that its a negative one. But hopefully it will save some…read moresouls. I am actually not sure that this is a real medical clinic. I would assume that there are certain standards to adhere to in order to use that title. Now, I want to point out that I do not have unrealistic, super high expectations. I have been to the free clinic in Hollywood, where many homeless individuals go, and it's far nicer than this place. I was excited to finally get my medical insurance through Covered California. I got Anthem Blue Cross - whom I am currently on the phone, on hold with, in order to change my primary care physician (27min and counting). I first called Dr Coting's office a couple of days ago to make an appointment. The lady who answered was not very friendly. She told me they do walk-ins only. She said they open at 10am. At 10 they opened, but the girl told me that the doctor usually does not come in until around 11:30. I signed in and then went for a walk and some tea in the near by Echo Park. Really beautiful park by the way!! Wow I was impressed! I got back at 11:30 and they told me the doctor was not in yet. I picked the least filthy chair. I waited. I wondered who would paint graffiti on a trash can in a doctors office. Or maybe they found it outside on the street? Jerry Springer on the ancient TV seemed appropriate. I waited. I noticed that they still had 4th of July decorations up, I guess there is no point taking them down when it's almost that time again! At least its not super packed in here I thought. Eventually a nurse called me in. She took my weight and height. Then she directed me into a small room. I was taken aback by what I saw. In this tiny room was a filthy brown examination table with writing and scribbles all over it. I couldn't even believe it. (See pictures!). The nurse asked me some general questions. "When was your last menstrual period?" I said about two weeks ago. (Its May 12th) She said "So May 7th?" I said "Sure that's fine". She then asked me why I was there, I told her it was for my acne problems. She asked me a couple more times. And then she asked me how to spell acne. She struggled to take my blood pressure. Didn't seem very experienced. I was sent back to the waiting area. The doc eventually rolled in at about 12:10. He was friendly enough, but did not seem thrilled to be there. He didn't really look at my acne. He did check my throat though, with one of them wooden spatula thingies! And then he threw it on the floor next to the closed trash can!! I almost laughed. He didn't bother to pick it up of course. He also had some nasty stains on his white robe. He is referring me to a dermatologist, which may or may not be approved, I guess we'll see! Oh and also they do not take cards, only cash, another reason I'm not sure if it's a real business?? Anyways, point of the story, don't go here. Thant's all. ;)

I remember one time when I had a terrible sinus and throat infection which took on a life of its own and I was back to my old self within a few days thanks to this place. He also helped me manage an ongoing medical condition Ive had since college. The low cost and the fact that you can walk in makes it even better. I've never had to wait very long. The staff is great. I'm planning on taking my dad here who is visiting from Europe. Thank you, Echo Park Family Clinic for serving your community so well.

He's very kind n has a good memory even sense of humor. He referred my mom to several other doctors that were great as well. He's very cautious. The receptionist is sweet she speaks several southeast language thai, vietnamese, cambodian and I think some Chinese. I think she still works there. His wife runs the front office in the back. Not the sweetest, stand offish she doesn't interact with patients. I'm sure the complaints about the receptionist are about her. Not the real receptionist. Anyways my mom saw his son when he started his career. He seems smart. Im not sure its been awhile. I do know from experience Dr Yen senior is fantastic. The office is old n run down. But after u see the doctor it doesn't matter. Thank you Dr. Yen. I hope you are still practicing for the low income ( no insurance ) people n wish you happiness. I already referred my cousin to you. Thank you for your service and helping so many that need help and thank you for not making $$$ be the primary purpose you see patients.

From the moment we walked in, this clinic exceeded our expectations…read more The space is clean, aesthetically pleasing, and genuinely calming. It feels homey and welcoming, which is rare, especially considering this is both primary care and urgent care in one. The clinic is also very modern and efficient. We were given an email address to submit medical documents, and everything was uploaded seamlessly. The receptionist was patient, friendly, and welcoming. Although we noticed the clinic serves many Armenian patients, we never once felt judged or treated differently. We first met with a student nurse practitioner who had a warm demeanor, asked thoughtful questions, and listened carefully while taking detailed notes. It felt thorough and unrushed. When Dr. Manuk Chulyan came in, it was immediately clear he had already reviewed my mom's history. I explained her recent hospitalization and new diagnosis of advanced kidney disease, along with our frustration with prior gaps in care. He was compassionate and attentive, especially toward my mom, who was visibly anxious and overwhelmed. He carefully reviewed her labs, uploaded outside records, and updated medications with great attention to detail. He was receptive to coordinating appropriate follow-up care with specialists and addressing our concerns without hesitation. What truly stood out was his willingness to help with necessary medical documentation and support requests. There was no resistance, no judgment, and no sense that we were asking for too much. In a time when my mom already felt vulnerable, that calm willingness meant more to us than words can express. He also took time to understand how her condition affects daily life and was supportive of resources that could help improve her overall well-being. In a quiet, sincere moment, he mentioned God to my mom. It was gentle, respectful, and not forced. My mom left feeling comforted and understood in a way she hasn't felt before with a primary care provider. Mary, the office manager, was exceptional. She was patient, kind, and incredibly helpful with paperwork, and even went out of her way to explain additional resources we weren't initially aware of. Appointments are easy to make, we arrived early, and they were punctual. We left feeling heard, supported, and genuinely cared for. We truly love this clinic. Parking is limited, but street parking is available. Highly recommend. PS This review was not solicited. It is shared voluntarily and reflects our honest and heartfelt experience.
