My mother and I are both patients of Dr. Mach, and we truly appreciate the care he provides. He is knowledgeable, compassionate, and always takes the time to listen to our concerns. We have complete confidence in him as our endocrinologist. Unfortunately, our experiences with the office manager, Debbie, have been very disappointing. She has consistently been dismissive, disrespectful, and lacking compassion when communicating with us. One example involved my mother's care. When Dr. Mach recommended that she switch to a new insulin pump, Debbie told my mother not to do it, which was confusing and seemed to contradict the doctor's recommendation. In my own case, I requested that the office submit a new insurance authorization. Debbie repeatedly told me it would be denied and refused to process it. I explained that, even if it were denied, I needed the denial so I could file an appeal with my insurance company. Despite that, she still refused. I eventually contacted my medical plan myself, worked through the process, and was able to get the authorization approved without the office's help. Managing a chronic medical condition is stressful enough, and patients should be treated with respect and compassion. My interactions with Debbie have consistently left me feeling frustrated and anxious. The contrast between the excellent care provided by Dr. Mach and the experience with the office staff is significant. We truly value Dr. Mach and would like to continue receiving our care from him. However, the ongoing issues with the office management have made us consider finding another endocrinologist. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so future patients have an experience that reflects the quality of care Dr. Mach provides. read more

Doc is good, Debbie the office manager is not very friendly and never follows through. I have left this office 1.5 + years ago and have tried to get all my records for my new endo. To this day they still don't have them. I also needed them to send records previously for life insurance. After 20 plus request from insurance company, they had to send someone there to copy them. I have seen Dr Mach for 25 years he's wonderful. The current situation with bloodwork and setting things up through quest is a JOKE ! Multiple attempts to get that done resulted in no one that knows anything about it and calls to confirm go unanswered. This was not a problem until this last year and the personnel in his office could not be more unhelpful ! They would be more helpful to not EVER answer the phone. I have canceled my appointent and requested a call from the doctor himself however I have absolutely no doubt that he will not get that message. Setting up an appointment with a new doctor, this review is my only vent. I have been a patient here for many may years and I have reached my breaking point, Debbie in the front office should not be in that position. She is an insufferable human. She is not helpful, warm or friendly. The office cut the contract with my medical insurance since my prior visit, When I arrived for my appointment I was informed that she will not process my claim as out of network because that's not her job. If I wanted to see the doctor I would have to pay as a cash payment office visit. When I asked for a receipt so I could submit the claim myself, she refused to provide one with the diagnostic code. Needless to say, insurance denied it because it did not have the proper information. My many attempts to obtain this information have gone unanswered. When I spoke to the doctor about the concerns I was told he is one of the only independent endocrinologists in the valley and Debby can run the front office however she pleases. That was the final straw for me Ironically after months and months of trying to obtain a receipt to no avail, when I asked for my records to be transferred over to the new practice I chose, the request was acknowledged and completed within TWO HOURS! Had an appointment today was disrespected by the front desk denied to see me when they had a clear form that I have an approved referral the lady did not check her system that they take HMO discriminated me by saying that Medical patients are for people with no job??? Like she doesn't have work ethics Medical is for anyone with a job or not with low income get educated pls. Second of all I have HMO but clearly you were too lazy to check. Don't bother coming here rude and discriminating. Lady I have a job I pay my taxes just like you please make sure you are well educated. I recently switched physicians and Dr. Mach is a lovely doctor. Unfortunately after he wrote me my prescription, my insurance company asked him to call in a pre-authorization. His office staff told me their office policy is that he won't contact the insurance company and the pharmacy needs to call them. The pharmacy told me my doctor needs to contact my insurer. I am stuck in the middle. As a result of this, I can't get my medication filled and have to go find another doctor just to have my prescription covered by insurance. I am very upset. read more

I have been seeing Dr Mach for over a year now. His staff is courteous and friendly. The facility is clean. And Dr Mach himself is friendly and professional. He has always gone over all my lab work with me and explained what all the numbers mean. He has given me multiple treatment options and discussed in detail with me so that I may choose the best option I feel comfortable with. His facility was able to do my bloodwork and ultrasound all on the same day, which is awesome. Parking was simple. Overall a great experience. I am truly happy with him and his staff! read more

Poor doctor communication if any at all. Left many messages including negative side effects from meds and no calls back. Office staff is underqualified to handle even the most basic tasks like emailing lab results. I requested them 6 separate times and still the staff has not emailed them. I have a right to my medical records and for them not to send them to me is a violation of HIPAA. Plus the doctor proceeded to mansplain to me immune deficiency disease on my first appointment. I am a medical student. I found his demeanor condescending and misogynistic. Office is dated and not clean. I just want to ad to my review that Dr. Mach is knowledgeable in Thyroid disease and Type 2 Diabetes. I just felt that he wasn't so helpful with Type 1 Diabetes and figuring out how to deal with my issues. I also agree with DD in that getting the office staff to sent scripts and Prior authorizations done in a timely manner doesn't happen. It too was frustrating for me whenever I called and asked for something to be done. read more

I would be cautious of seeing Dr. Mach. There is so much inconsistency with his scheduling because he is on vacation or decides to move his schedule to limited hours. I had multiple appointments moved and now because of his scheduling issues I don't have access to my medication. Dr. Mach is a more-or-less adequate Endocrinologist. He is out-of-date on the latest in Diabetes management software, and recommends fixed-dosage insulin, instead of a sliding-scale based on apps or charts that will do dosage calculations based on Blood Glucose levels. His office is staffed by incredibly incompetent and ineffectual individuals who constantly talk over you, do not understand the basics of time management, and are overly-empowered by Dr. Mach to be rude, condescending, and often pass biased feedback to Dr. Mach to influence his interactions with patients. I sent Dr. Mach an invite to share data from my Jade Diabetes management app this afternoon, and was called by someone from his office to say he was waiting on my data... Rather than just work through why he could not find the software in his email, he had this 3rd individual in the middle, relaying information to the Doctor who was on his computer. It was wholely unproductive. I missed by 2pm time slot, and was told he would call me back... It is now 5:07pm, and I have called his office twice and was unable to get through. This is no way to run a practice. In the past I have waited for two weeks to get a scheduling callback from Dr. Mach's staff. I would avoid Dr. Mach's practice like the plague. read more

I just left an appointment with Dr. Mach for my girlfriend and he is very thorough. She had concerns that she might have hashimotos or thyroid issues and he first went over all the symptoms she's experiencing and then went as far as drawing a graph on a piece of paper to describe how the thyroid can affect your health. He then ordered a blood test and told her that he will call us for next steps after he reviews her blood results. There are many reviews about the front desk (they were very polite) and/or how long they take to call you back - I can't comment on the latter as we are now waiting to be called back. I put 5 stars for our experience with the doctor, his knowledge, his communication, and making sure that we had no questions when he finished the exam. read more

Uhhhhhh so I have been paying out of pocket to see the BEST endo in LA (Dr Jordan Geller) and tried to go cheap by getting a referral to an insurance covered guy... which led me to Dr. Mach. Upon seeing me for the first time, he asked me a couple questions about what I was taking, explained things to me that I already knew, and took out his note pad and wrote me a prescription for medication. Keep in mine, he hadn't seen ANY blood work. He then told me to go get blood drawn to check my thyroid and cholesterol. I asked if it would be better for me to do it after fasting and his reply was, "Yeah, it will be more accurate then, but its fine if you do it now." Uhhh??? So I came back the next day to get a FASTING blood test, then waited and waited and waited. No one ever called me with the results. Back to Dr Geller it is! You get what you pay for. read more

What a jerk! I went to see Dr Mach to explain some unexplainable weight gain and the first thing he does is try to feel my thyroid. He starts giggling and says, "Ha ha, your neck is so big I can't get my hands around it!" WORDT ENDOCRINOLOGIST I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. is obviously paid to push certain types of new medications. I've been diabetic since i was 11 years old, I'm 25 now and have never encountered such a childish doctor. He threw a fit when i denied bloodwork because i had no one to drive me home and slammed his office door like a 5 year old child not getting his way. Like most doctors, he's busy and rushed, but he did take the time to call and answer all my questions. Having a phlebotomist in the office is very convenient, and he's very good. Wait time is fine.
