Words cannot express how thankful and grateful that am I to have such an amazing Endocrinologist on my medical team. Parking: Street metered parking along Garfield Avenue next to the Pasadena Public Library ($1.25 per hour) or you can park in the building's parking lot ($8). COVID-19 Procedures: Before your appointment starts, you will call them to notify of your arrival. The front door will then be unlocked. You will be asked the basic COVID-19 questions and given a temperature check. Afterwards, you will proceed with your medical appointment. Dr. Spambalg and team adheres to all COVID-19 practices (gloves, masks, hand sanitizer and staying 6ft apart). Side Note: Dr. Spambalg is out-of-network and so, you will be paying out of pocket for the medical visits/teleconferences, but it is worth it. The good part is that your medical insurance covers the medications. Ever since I started working with Dr. Spambalg and her staff in October 2019, both my life and health has literally and drastically changed for the better. Just when I thought I had lost all hope of ever controlling my two major, chronic medical conditions, Dr. Spambalg came to the rescue. Her expertise, knowledge, guidance and compassionate care showed me the way. She has definitely made me a firm believer that I can control my two major, chronic medical conditions. As long as you put in the work and effort, you will see the results. She will provide you guidance and advice along with the right medications (adjusted as needed based on your lab work, which also helps keep you accountable). If you need additional medical help outside her expertise, she will also refer you to them as well. All medical visits and notes will also be sent to your doctor(s) to keep in them loop. Dr. Spambalg truly cares and wants you to get better. Best of all, she is very punctual, but never rush you. She will listen and address all your medical concerns before you end the session with her. If you have any further questions or inquiries, they are just a phone call away. With Dietician Joanne Lamberty, she was also caring and compassionate. With her guidance and advice, she gave me the necessary tools that I needed to learn and understand which foods were good and bad against my two major, chronic medical conditions. She also taught me how to properly count carbs and how to log in my caloric intake via MyFitnessPal app. Even though she has retired as of January 2020, as needed, Joanne will still be a phone call away. Yesenia and Valerie are also wonderful too! Both ladies are kind and professional. Yesenia is fantastic with showing you tips and tricks on how to make injections and finger pricking less painful and scary. I was terrified at first, but now, it is a normal routine for me. Valerie is also awesome with handling all the administrative aspect (appointment reminders/setups, ensuring all medical billings goes through, medication refills and lab work sent to the appropriate labs, etc). Yesenia also shares that part of the administrative work too, but she handles more of the pre-examinations before you meet with Dr. Spambalg. Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Spambalg for all your endocrinology needs. She is truly the best of the best! Once again, thank you so much to Dr. Spambalg, Joanne Lamberty, Yesenia and Valerie for all that you do! Until our next medical appointment!

She handled me with such compassion, patience, and genuine care. Despite everything I was carrying emotionally, she still helped me achieve fantastic results, retrieving more eggs than I ever expected! What I appreciate most is how thoughtfully she tailors this process to each individual. She truly sees you as a person, not just a patient, and shapes the experience in a way that feels incredibly supportive, calming, and human. I was an anxious patient, but she always made time to answer my questions, big or small, no matter what. Dr. Chavkin's clinical staff is also phenomenal! Stephanie and Tatiana are endlessly attentive and kind. I rarely felt overwhelmed because they made every step feel easier and less intimidating. Overall, I would recommend Dr. Chavkin to anyone considering egg freezing or IVF. Everyone I called said their earliest appointment was two months out. I didn't want to wait that long so I kept calling. The last on my list was Dr Drange. When I spoke to Lucas he said he had an appointment available in 3 weeks. Perfect! Out of everyone I spoke to Lucas was also the friendliest. He explained that I needed to fill out some paperwork first and he would e-mail it to me. Within a few minutes it was in my in box. The day of my appointment I arrived at the office a bit early. I was the only one on the waiting room and a cheerful Lucas greeted me right away. A few minute later Roberto took my temperature then escorted me in. Much like Lucas I immediately got a good vibe from Roberto. He is so chilled and laid back. He took my vitals and walked me to the exam room. A few short minutes later Dr Drange came in. She took the time to listen to me and explained to me what the next steps would be to determine my diagnosis. She suggested an ultrasound of my thyroid and a more in-depth blood test - both of which she could do in her office. Dr Drange did the ultrasound herself - explaining things along the way. Then she brought me to another room where Roberto would take my blood. I dread blood test but Roberto immediately put me at ease. He was very gentle when taking my blood and it didn't hurt at all. I wish all techs were this good! A week later Dr Drange called with the results of my tests and my diagnosis. It's so hard to find a good Dr but I really felt comfortable with her. I appreciated that she listened to my concerns and explained everything to me and made sure I understood what was going on. When I came back for my follow up visit I had the same pleasant experience. Doctor visits are always scary and stressful so I really appreciate the effort that Dr Drange and her staff make to make sure their patients are comfortable and put them at ease. I'm so grateful I found them and am even more grateful that she is going to help me get my life and health back on track.

Unfortunately, my last experience was not a pleasant one. Last week, I spoke to the receptionist…read morebecause my refills of my prescription had run out so I booked an appointment a week out and was told to go to any Quest location to get bloodwork done. During the same call, I also told the receptionist I needed copies of my files for my Physician and eventually for a new endocrinologist because I moved from the Pasadena area. She said that I would need to fill out the form that will be emailed to me and I would receive the documents within 48 hours. Unfortunately, I did not receive the documents on time which caused me to have to reschedule my appointment with my physician. This past Tuesday, I had to call their office to cancel my appointment because I couldn't get an appointment for bloodwork. I told the receptionist I would call back in once I have gotten the bloodwork done. Today (Thursday) I took time to go to Quest to get bloodwork done and I was told they do not have any requests for bloodwork sent by Dr. Drange's office. So, I waited for about 30-45 minutes and they still didn't receive anything. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a hold of anyone from their office around 11 a.m. or 12:00 p.m.-12:25 p.m. so Quest had to deny my appointment and told me I had to rebook it for another time. Around 12:45 p.m. I received a call from Ruth stating because I requested a transfer of records that they cancelled the bloodwork request. The transfer of records and bloodwork was being done concurrently, so it doesn't make sense to close out my records at their office if that wasn't even communicated to me. It would have been helpful if the receptionist told me on Tuesday when I had to cancel my appointment that they were going to close out my records as a patient, so I didn't have to take time out of my day to try to get bloodwork. On a positive note there is room for improvement, if the front desk and their medical records department kept better lines of communication it would really help their patients out to avoid these misunderstandings and time wasted on the patients' side. And since the receptionist is their first line of contact, the receptionist should note in their system what was spoken about to the patient if it could potentially affect what it done on their medical records side of their office.

This review is on behalf of my wife:…read more Dr Geller is a standout among doctors. He pays careful attention to his patients and takes copious notes, rather than just hiding behind the robotic interpretation of test results. My wife has had a low functioning thyroid in most of the 8 years since our son was born. Technically, it's sub-clinical Hashimoto's. Sub clinical basically means that the test results are outside the bounds of what Endocrinologists regard as requiring treatment. Most of them say to a patient "You're fine!" and completely ignore that the patient is NOT f-ing fine at all. My wife was told that she was sub-clinical and she wouldn't be treated until her scores hit the clinical threshold. Yes, that's right - The guidelines are to tell patients they are wrong, fine and just wait until you feel even worse and your test results get really bad - then we'll treat you. Dr Geller is different. He recognizes that this area of medicine is still developing and that there are no definitive clinical answers that fit every patient. So he takes everything you tell him into account and will actually treat you. He is thorough, considered and will develop an approach that fits YOU. My wife felt exhausted for years, her numbers kept increasing (though still sub-clinical) and thankfully, she finally found Dr Geller. He has treated and advised her and she is making great progress. Our old Endocrinologist (and most out there) refused to prescribe synthetic hormones that have now made a huge difference. But suggested anti-depressants instead! That's right. Pass the buck because you are outside the defined range of a test that is not accurately representing the devastating experience of thousands of women across the country. Pay attention to the numbers and not the patient. Some doctors would rather be right instead of try a different approach to help. Dr Geller partners with you in coming up with solutions. He's an absolute gem. P.S. Doctor Geller is out of network and a little more expensive BECAUSE he takes a lot of time with you. Time that medical insurance does not reimburse for. He also uses how own lab so he can get consistent results and control quality. General labs tend to use their own guidelines based on the patients THEY see. This is why you often see different ranges for blood test results.
